Die sehr schöne Azienda Agricola Elvio Cogno liegt in Novello, abseits der bekannten Weinstraßen der Langhe, auf einem Hügel oberhalb der herrlichen Ravera-Weinberge. Das Dorf zählt zu den elf Gemeinden, in denen Barolo erzeugt wird. In dem von Valter Fissore und Nadia Cogno in der vierten Generation mit sicherer Hand und großer Leidenschaft geführten Familienbetrieb entstehen in einem ehemaligen Kornspeicher unter dem sparsamen Einsatz von Technik elegante und ausgewogene Weine im klassischen Stil. In den letzten Jahren haben die Gewächse des von Nadias Vater Elvio gegründeten Weinguts zu einer persönlichkeitsstarken Identität gefunden.
Das im 18. Jahrhundert als Herrensitz dienende Anwesen steht für Strenge und Präzision. Beide Merkmale spiegeln sich in der zehn Weine umfassenden Produktion wider. Allerfeinste Barolo-Lagenweine, gefolgt von Barbera d'Alba, dominieren. Die Gewächse der Weinfarm werden von einschlägigen Kritikern regelmäßig mit hohen Bewertungen bedacht. Gleich bei seinem ersten Auftritt wurde der aus den besten Parzellen der Ravera-Lage stammende "Barolo Bricco Pernice" vom Weinführer Gambero Rosso mit "Drei Gläsern" ausgezeichnet.
Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto und Nascetta heißen die konsequent in den Rebhügeln angebauten autochthonen Traubensorten. Vor einigen Jahren wurde im Gut sogar die historische und in der Gegend um Novello kultivierte weiße Sorte Anas-cëtta wiederbelebt. Aus ihr entstehen Weine von brillanter strohgelber Farbe mit goldenen Reflexen. In den Weingärten wird von der Familie Cogno umweltbewusst ohne Einsatz von Pestiziden gearbeitet. Das dynamische Ehepaar hält die Hektarerträge absichtlich niedrig und ist immer bestrebt, das organische Gleichgewicht der Reben zu sichern.
Für den Winzerbetrieb ist der Besucherbereich sehr charakteristisch. Er ist äußerst einladend, bis in die kleinste Einzelheit liebevoll gestaltet und fügt sich harmonisch in die atemberaubend schöne Landschaft der Langhe ein. SUPERIORE.DE
