"Not only does Jacopo Biondi Santi come from one of Italy's most famous wine dynasties, he is also the only wine producer in the world to have a clone that bears his name: BBS 11, Brunello Biondi Santi 11. The Biondi Santi family has been growing wine in Tuscany since 1302 and has clearly influenced the region... So much for the past. Jacopo Biondi Santi did not want to rest on the laurels of his ancestors and founded in the heart of the Maremma, beautifully situated within a 1000 hectare nature reserve, the Castello Montepó winery, named after the 12th century castle of the same name, which he bought in 1997... ...
Meanwhile 50 hectares are planted, which are cultivated purely organically. Together with his oenologist Luca Martelli, Jacopo Biondi Santi vinifies independent, long-lived wines, the heart of which is often the traditional family clone BBS 11. This is also the case with the most important wine in terms of quantity from the house of Sassoalloro, a pure Sangiovese, complex, rich in finesse and already in its youth with a lot of charm. Almost all other wines need a lot more time to develop, but they can also be enjoyed on Montepó. The two top wines Schidione and Montepaone are currently on sale as vintage 2000. And it's always worth waiting at Biondi Santi!" wine world
