Valpolicella Ripasso Valpantena DOC 2020
Bertani's Ripasso is a true classic. The grapes come from the hills around Valpantena and from the direct Valpolicella Classico area. The production at Bertani is carried out according to the old traditional method: The young, already fermented Valpolicella wine is blended with the skins, which have dried naturally in the meantime, giving it a richer and more concentrated aroma. It then undergoes a second so-called "ripasso" fermentation, which is triggered by the yeasts that are still sufficiently present in the skins.
Intense purple with violet reflections. On the nose, numerous dark red fruits such as blackberry, currant and ripe cherry. It has a slightly bitter aftertaste, which, with the slightly increased residual sweetness, results in an exciting yet dry impression. Velvety and balanced, with quite a long finish. An ideal wine for the darker months and an excellent companion for strong and aromatic dishes. SUPERIORE.DE
"The original Ripasso wine would have been more of a super-charged Valpolicella than a mini Amarone, and this example is true to that type, highlighting the fresh and lighter style of the Valpantena, a long, steeply sloping valley with a particularly cool microclimate. Clean and fresh with ripe and forward cherry fruit aromas accompanied by subtle dried fruit shadings, it's zingy with positive acidity and lightly exotic fruit flavours, ending with a clean and firm finish." “Il Repertorio” Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2021
"Il Repertorio" - "The Register". Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti's wines recall his father's notarial world with their names.
Expressive and uninhibited, the Aglianico Il Repertorio meets us. Dark berries, a herbal bouquet of mint, rosemary, black olive, thyme and sage, plus tones of leather and liquorice. An extremely fascinating and fresh wine from start to finish. Intense and delicate at the same time, elegant and rustic. SUPERIORE.DE
"The nose shows complex aromas of spicy oak, dark chocolate, dried herbs, dark cherries and liquorice. Firm and youthful on the palate." Decanter
"Lavender, plums, black and red currants and some white pepper on the nose. Fresh and youthful with full body, fine-grained tannins and a very clean finish." James Suckling
"A hauntingly dark display of crushed blackberries, lilac and lavender evolves in the glass as the 2021 Aglianico del Vulture Il Repertorio slowly comes to life. It’s silky and sleek, also decidedly savory in style, with tart wild berry fruits propelled by saline-tinged acidity. The 2021 finishes staining and structured, leaving a bitter tinge of exotic spice offset by sour citrus. This imposing vintage of Il Repertorio is built for the cellar." Vinous

Fragrant and juicy, this is everything that good Cerasuolo di Vittoria should be. Aromatic raspberry and strawberry scents lead to a really fresh and tangy palate which invites you in. It has good acid structure, around which wrap sweet and ripe red fruits, with a long and fresh finish showcasing some raspberry coulis." Decanter
"A dense and balanced red with sour-cherry, berry and lemon aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, tangy and vivid. Tight center-palate." James Suckling

“Alta Mora” Rosso Etna DOC 2020
Light, brightening garnet colour, very clear bouquet with pronounced fresh fruit notes of berries and rhubarb, elegant on the palate with well-dosed power, supple tannins; juicy, persistent and long. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, shiny ruby-garnet colour. Nose of wild strawberries, oranges, watermelon, with fine stony notes and plaster. Radiant red berry fruit on the palate, well-integrated tannins and a savoury-salty finish." Falstaff
"A blend of fruit from the Verzella, Solicchiata, Feudo di Mezzo and Guardiola vineyards, which lie between 650 and 900 metres above sea level. This Rosso is vinified in stainless steel and then matured for 12 months in large barrels and tonneaux. Perfumed and dusty, with a Burgundian nose and a hint of violets, it is grippy and well balanced with good acidity and lovely texture. Red cherry and darker plum fruit are carried by fine, ripe tannins, with a soft, elegant finish. Very drinkable." Decanter
"The nose balances the astringency of hibiscus, cranberries and pomegranate with the warmth of bricks, dirt, salt and pepper. The palate features denser, darker fruit notes, which gradually sink into undercurrents of chocolate and coffee. Acid blazes around towering tannins, sending off potent sparks of spice." Wine Enthusiast
"A good example of Etna Rosso with notes of iron and minerals to go with the flavoursome cranberries and dried oranges. Beautiful transparency on the palate despite the assertive, firm tannins that are well chiselled on the palate. Shows structure and length." James Suckling

"The nose is defined by light, floral aromas of yellow apple, pear, lemon and white flowers, while warm, stony undertones provide balance. The palate is citrus-forward, with the tree-fruit elements also enduring, before a faintly nutty, salty finish that gets a gentle boost from easygoing acid." Wine Enthusiast
"Notes of ripe apples and pears with spices, camomile and a stony minerality. Medium-bodied, supple and polished with juicy acidity and delicious fruit. Complex and full of character." James Suckling

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Intense ruby red Vino Nobile Riserva with a spicy bouquet of aromas of dried fruit, cinnamon, cloves and liquorice. Smooth on the palate with a variety of nuances, beautiful fullness, structure and intensity, supple tannins. Very elegant pleasure at an excellent price. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich ruby red colour with a slightly brightening rim. Ripe sour cherries, plums and blueberries on the nose, followed by spicy notes. "An air of crushed chalk and white pepper gives way to red plums and sage as the 2019 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva opens in the glass. It's velvety-smooth yet energetic in feel, with a wave of ripe raspberry and blueberry fruit carried across a core of vibrant acidity. The 2019 finishes harmonious and long, leaving the mouth watering for more, even as grippy tannins tug at the palate." Vinous
"Walnuts, bitter chocolate, cherries and tapenade on the nose. Savory and chewy, medium-bodied, with firm tannins and a compact, meaty finish." James Suckling
"A proper Riserva, this could do with another year or so in the cellar and will have mid-term ageing potential. A selection from the Casale vineyard, one of four estate plots, on a loose clay and sandy soil with limestone, it's typically the last to be harvested. The seductive nose shows a subtle hint of vanilla mixed with heady truffle and cedar nuances. There is lovely purity of cherry and plum on the ample, concentrated palate, while dry, commanding tannins give plenty of structure." Decanter

“Trevigne” Barbera d’Alba DOC 2021
In contrast to the past, this full and fragrant Barbera is now aged to a greater percentage in large oak barrels - and less in barriques. This benefits the softness, fruitiness and suppleness of this beautiful wine. Tre Vigne means that the grapes come in equal parts from the top vineyards Mosconi, Ginestra and San Pietro. Deep dark ruby red. The bouquet has a fine scent of sour cherries and violets, the full and soft taste has a pleasantly fresh acidity that refines the long drinking pleasure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Ripe, somewhat toasty nose, with brooding black fruits. Good fruit concentration, structure and intensity with candied, ripe and fresh plum flavours. The fresh acidity is balanced by moderate tannins. A long finish that is very bright and youthful." Decanter
"The Domenico Clerico 2021 Barbera d'Alba Trevigne is a particularly fruit-driven wine with blackberries, dark plums and spices. Winemaker Oscar Arrivabene says this is a very good year for Barbera. The wine feels lush and soft on the palate and goes well with cheese-filled pasta." Wine Advocate
"Intense ruby red with violet shimmer. In the nose ripe plum and blackberry, behind pepper and tobacco. On the palate juicy start, great tension, refreshing acidity, polished tannin, animating, discreetly salty final." Falstaff

“der Keil” Vernatsch Lago di Caldaro DOC 2022 (BIO)
"Back to the origins. Uncomplicated and charming, fruity and elegant and of incorruptible quality - this is how we understand the wine that the world thinks it knows us for."Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg, Weingut Manincor
Kalterersee Classico from old Vernatsch vines of different varieties from a south-facing slope with a lake view called Keil. Bright, light ruby colour, fine fruity bouquet of cherries and roasted almonds, juicy and easy-drinking on the palate with an elegant finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very crisp and delicious with flavours of cranberries, light apples and watermelon that fade into a medium body with light tannins and a crisp finish. Serve slightly chilled." James Suckling
"Winemaker Helmut Zozin’s passion is to explore the sensuality of a wine – the pleasure and drinkability it delivers. Keil is fermented in wooden tini, and after a brief settling period in concrete, returns to barrel for another 10 months. A lightly edgy nose of nutmeg-dusted red fruit aromas and almost-minty hints leads to a fleshy, balanced palate with juicy raspberry fruit and good mouthfeel." Decanter

Chianti Classico DOCG 2021 (BIO)
Vibrant ruby colour with light violet reflections, rich fruity aromas on the nose, typically of wild berries and sour cherries. Fresh, balanced and well-structured on the palate, with silky tannins and spicy accents. An energetic classic of the appellation. SUPERIORE.DE
"A classic and as if from a single mould; cherries, blackberries, the juicy vein and the charm are pleasing, the fine tannin and acid bite invigorate." Weinwisser
"Almost medium ruby red colour. Dense and rather closed on the nose and a little reductive. Great intensity and purity of fruit, with plenty of tangy acidity and fine tannins. Impressive." Jancis Robinson
"Boasting black cherry, blackberry, violet and earth flavors, this rich, dark red shows fine balance, with a light grip of tannins on the finish. This is more about the fruit, so very drinkable now." Wine Spectator
"A powerful and flavoursome Chianti Classico with aromas of red plums, herbs, mushrooms and some citrus peel. Medium-bodied with plenty of bite thanks to the chewy tannins. Made from organically grown grapes." James Suckling
"The Chianti Classico 2021 is a prime example of excellence. Pure, bright and wonderfully lively, the 2021 possesses outstanding energy and exceptional balance. Crushed red/purple-coloured fruit, rose petals, sweet spices and orange peel burst with excitement. This is a rare Chianti Classico that I would cellar for a year or two. Outstanding." Vinous
"As the high temperatures in mid-August stopped the Sangiovese from ripening, he harvested about a week later than usual, reports Marco Ricasoli. He also introduced a sorting table to remove dried or green berries and pieces of stem. The result is a flawless and refined Annata. It has a deep purple colour and an equally youthful bouquet with aromas of wild berries, black plums and a hint of wood spices. In the mouth, it is full of spicy dark red cherries, carried by a lively acidity and framed by tannins with a suede structure. Winter mint and liquorice root linger on the finish. With its admirable complexity, it surpasses its category." Decanter

"A bright and fragrant rosé with notes of cherry blossom, peaches, rosehips and strawberries. Medium-bodied, creamy and delicate, but with plenty of flavour and a dry and delicious finish." James Suckling
"The Cottanera 2022 Etna Rosato is beautiful in the glass, with pink, golden and copper-coloured reflections. The colour of the wine is achieved with just three to four hours of skin contact and is aged in steel. The fruit for this wine comes from a vineyard specially cultivated for the production of rosé. The bouquet is floral at the front and fruity at the back. It shows balance and precision with a mineral finish. This is one of my favourite rosé wines from Italy, especially in this price range." "The 2021 Soave Classico Monte Carbonare is decidedly savory, displaying notes of crushed rocks and dried flowers that give way to white peach and hints of gingery spice. It sweeps across the palate with a silky, textural wave of liquid florals and ripe pit-fruits, riding along a core of vibrant acidity. Notions of candied lime and saline minerals linger through the long and youthfully tense finale as the 2021 leaves a confectionary air of spice." Vinous
"Charming aromatic profile with a strong fruit centre lined with layers of herbs and nuts. Burgundian, nutty nuances, honey-glazed almonds, lemon curd and a hint of smoke lend the wine charm. Lively, acid-accentuated finish. Beautiful intensity and a great life ahead." Decanter
"Red volcanic iron soils with plenty of black basalt in the centre. Goes well with the later-ripening Garganega, while the screw cap promotes the freshness sought at this address. 6 ha. 60-70 year old vines in cooler sites that are rising to the crème de la crème of top sites as the climate warms. A richer wine than the younger Classico, but without the same cheeky vitality. While the Classico is an unbeatable everyday wine, this is a complex wine that demands food and a little more contemplation. Mirabelle plum, apricot pit, a hint of dried mango and plenty of smoky, sharp mineral grip, with dutiful freshness that has a chewy length. Drinkable now, but best from 2025." James Suckling
"Sixty-year-old plants which, thanks to the soil, in which the presence of black basalt plays an important role, and organic farming, provide a raw material of great crispness. On the nose, notes of lychee, yellow melon, hawthorn and field grass. Iodine-fruity on the palate with a floral finish." Luca Gardini

“Amore e Follia” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019
Don't expect the typical Syrah, because this wine will surprise you with its liveliness and freshness, although it has the spiciness and drinkability typical of Syrah. The name (Love and Madness) expresses all the love for this grape, but also the courage to grow it in the Montalcino area. Despite its unusualness, this wine is a real crowd pleaser and one of the winery's trademarks.
Deep ruby red with violet reflections, on the nose black fruits, forest floor, pine wood with a hint of white rose and jasmine. On the palate, a distinct texture with well-integrated tannins, paired with a great minerality, a delicate bitter note in the respectable aftertaste. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with garnet glints. In the nose after pickled plums and sour cherry, in the reverberation some spice and roasted aromas from the wood ageing. Very juicy on the palate, with strong tannin, pleasant acidity, long final." Falstaff
"Lots of bright, very ripe red-berry character to this medium-bodied red with a light but firm tannin framework to the palate. But the fresh fruit pushes through to the end. Turns savory just at the end. Needs a year for better overall integration." James Suckling
"Complex and intense aromas of dark forest fruits, sweet cherries and tea leaves. Elegant, with a firm slightly grainy tannic structure and leathery finish." Decanter

Etna Rosato DOC 2022 (BIO)
Terre Neres Etna Rosato opens flavoursome and animating in the glass. The bouquet has notes of fresh almonds, dried flowers, smoky mandarins and maritime minerals. On the palate, it has an excellent, silky texture and ripe melon with white stone fruit. A salty character hovers over everything, mingling with vibrant acidity and traces of tannin, providing plenty of tension and balance. A fabulous rosé of polished elegance and purity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Light, bright salmon pink with copper reflections. Delicate on the nose, with delicate aromas of cherry and fresh strawberries. Creamy and beautifully juicy on the palate, polished fruit, balanced and harmonious overall." Falstaff
"A plush rosé marked by succulent acidity, with peach skin, white cherry and watermelon aromas and flavors that burst from the glass. Offers floral, chalk, eucalyptus and smoke accents." Wine Spectator
"Notes of candied cherries and dried orange peel with hints of flowers and minerals. Clean and concentrated on the palate with a medium body, consistent acidity and a lively, flinty character on the finish." James Suckling
"This onion-skin coloured Etna rosé from one of the volcano's best producers is excellent value. It is made from the estate's youngest Nerello Mascalese vines and has an airy bouquet of oyster shells, wild herbs, wet stone and creamy lees, with some delicate red fruits meandering through. Initially very pithy and savoury, it soon gains creamy weight and a beautiful, balanced intensity of pure red fruit. The mid-palate is very stony and mineral, with savoury notes of lime and orange peel, and finishes long, bright, fresh and salty." Decanter

“Réserve della Contessa” Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2022 (BIO)
"Its secret is finesse and elegance, almost noblesse. A white wine with a delicate colour and delicate aromas, perfect for festive occasions." Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg, Weingut Manincor
Réserve della Contessa - the feminine wine. Delicate, shimmering colour with a fresh, elegant bouquet of green apple, ripe apricot and a hint of sage. Dense, long and with a fine melt on the palate. Rare noblesse! SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling straw yellow with greenish reflections. Tropical fruit, watermelon and yellow meadow flowers on the nose. Juicy and fresh on the palate, with a pleasant fruity sweetness and a long final." Falstaff
"Juicy flavors of nectarine, passion fruit and white cherry are set in this vivacious white, which is accented by blood orange peel, pink grapefruit granita and jasmine notes. This light- to medium-bodied version offers a tangy, salty finish." Wine Spectator
"Perfumed nose, but not overpowering. Jasmine, peach, orange citrus and lemongrass. Spicy on the palate, with bright acidity and a salty flavour at the end. Medium-long finish." James Suckling
"This blend of Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc from one vineyard each in Terlan and Kaltern undergoes a maceration of around six hours with fermentation and maturation in oak barrels. The round flavour of white flowers, straw and stone fruit has a dusty, oaky note. It has a concentrated core of savoury, pithy and very structured yellow fruit, lime and honeysuckle. The finish is long, ripe and juicy, with apple and lime. Beautifully made." Decanter

“Coste & Fossati” Dolcetto d’Alba DOC 2022 (BIO)
Dolcetto d'Alba Coste & Fossati is one of the most sought-after wines in the appellation every year. A very dark purple-coloured wine with a bouquet of roasted almonds, cherries, tar and chocolate. Voluminous, long and rich on the palate, velvety and juicy with a subtle sweetness and an impressive, gripping texture. Already a pleasure today and undoubtedly a great experience in a few years' time. SUPERIORE.DE
"Lively fruit, enveloped by firm, muscular, sandy tannins. Dust and rose hips. Sour cherry. Vibrant fruit with a delicate, spicy note of forest floor and a hint of floral patterns. The finish contracts and then returns to the brightness of the fruit. Great juiciness!" Jancis Robinson
"The 2022 Dolcetto d'Alba Coste & Fossati is a powerful, deep wine. Black cherry, plum, leather, grilled herbs, gravel, lavender and spices give it remarkable complexity. The imposing tannins and rich fruit give this wine a very serious flavour. The 2022 is a wine for the dinner table." Vinous
"Grown within two Barolo MGAs, the grapes for this wine are only picked when the leaves and stems have turned red, which represents phenolic maturity, ensuring good structure and good fruit concentration. Full of tangy red and black cherry aromas and flavours with a touch of creaminess, this is bright and fresh. Vibrant and vertical, with a long, saline finish, its juicy fruit is underlined by subtle fine tannins and mouthwatering acidity." Decanter
"The 2022 Dolcetto d'Alba Coste & Fossati from organic farming shows a rich, dark fruit with a pronounced sweet side. There is soft cherry, blackberry and crème de cassis. The wine is quite full-bodied and juicy and is an excellent accompaniment to wood-fired pizza." Wine Advocate

“Berardenga” Chianti Classico DOCG 2021
Sangiovese in its purest form: bright ruby colour with a broad garnet rim. Rich in fruity and floral aromas, multi-layered, herbal, deep and well-polished with further development potential. A full-bodied and harmonious Chianti Classico with a highly authentic and very inviting style. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant ruby red colour. Deep cherry flavour with dark spice notes. Concentrated, supple and full-bodied. Impressive structure with powdery tannins that have yet to settle." Jancis Robinson
"Animating cherry, cassis and herbs, shows its pithy side with a bite, salty vein and tart charm, is robust and lingers for a long time. The classic from the south of the growing region." Weinwisser
"The Fèlsina 2021 Chianti Classico Berardenga has a savoury or crisp side that I often find in Sangiovese. There's a lot of fruit brightness here with cassis, red cherries, minerals, dried tobacco and grilled rosemary. This is an easy-drinking Tuscan red wine with a natural acidity and brightness that goes well with a classic lasagne or aubergine parmigiana." Wine Advocate
"The 2021 begins with smoky nuances, earth and subtle oak, before moving into fragrant mint and thyme. It is concentrated and ripe, but balanced by freshness and vibrancy. The underlying firmness gradually dissipates to reveal a spicy finish of dried tomatoes." Decanter
"The Chianti Classico Berardenga 2021 is impetuous and expressive right from the glass. Dark fruits, earthy notes, leather, spices and tobacco convey the character of Castelnuovo Berardenga in tonnes. The wine gets better and better in the glass. It's a super-classic example of the house style and a wine to buy by the case. The Berardenga bottling can be a little wild, but in 2021 it has an added touch of sophistication that is undeniable." Vinous
"Sparkling ruby red with a slightly brightening rim. Fresh raspberries and strawberries on the nose, then a touch of forest floor and sour cherry. Fresh and juicy on the palate, with well-integrated tannins, long and fruity final." Falstaff
"A firm and silky red wine with aromas and flavours of cherries, dried flowers and orange peel. It is medium-bodied with fine tannins and a fresh and concentrated finish. It still needs some time to mellow, but I'm already enjoying its energy." James Suckling
"Nose of red raspberry, touches of wild sage and floreal finish, with nuances of lavender. The drinkability is crunchy-sapid, good persistence with a return of Taggiasca olive." Luca Gardini

Etna Bianco DOC 2022 (BIO)
Etna Bianco from Terre Nere offers a surprising degree of depth and sophistication. The cuvée of Carricante, Catarratto, Grecanico, Inzolia and Minnella has an aroma of grapefruit, quince, dried sage and wild mint. Fine mineral notes on the palate, developing elegantly with notes of lemon curd. The balance is marvellous. Seamless. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Etna Bianco 2022 is smoky in the glass and excites the senses with a burst of crushed rock and raw almond before transitioning into a citrus-influenced peach. It is pleasantly soft and enveloping, with weighty textures lifted by vibrant acidity. Mineral fruit and sweet spices meet on the palate. The 2022 finishes remarkably fresh yet grippy and long, leaving the mouth wanting more. The complexity of this wine is unrivalled for an entry-level Etna Bianco. Delicious!" Vinous
"This crackles with an underpinning of salinity, working with vibrant acidity to buoy a well-meshed profile of apricot tart, persimmon, mandarin orange peel, chamomile and chopped almond flavors." Wine Spectator
"It shows attractive flavours of citrus and stone fruit with a hint of mussels, with stony and ashy undertones. Medium-bodied, tangy and fresh with lively acidity and a polished mineral backbone. Steady and concentrated with a crisp finish." James Suckling
"Bright and pithy on the nose, with notes of stone and peach. In the mouth, it's very savoury and juicy, vertical and pithy, with a lovely softness of yellow fruit with floral hints leading to a long, stony finish. So light on its feet yet intense in flavour, with a body that melts away and makes you want another sip." Decanter

Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2020
Broad and rich, with aromas and flavours of plums, blackberries, clay and spices. La Braccescas Nobile di Montepulciano is a finely balanced, beautiful wine with all the elements in the right place. It is aromatically persistent, complex and nuanced in its balance. The winemaking team has done everything right here. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano opens with a mentholated freshness, blending cedar shavings with dried herbs and black cherries. This is elegant, nearly velvety in feel, with medium-bodied weight and polished red and black fruits. It tapers off with a pleasantly bitter tinge and is slightly chewy, leaving a coating of sweet tannins to frame the experience quite nicely." Vinous
"In the far east of the Vino Nobile zone, the La Braccesca vineyard borders Umbria. The vineyards extend over 340 hectares and reach as far as the neighbouring municipality of Cortona. Expressive aromas combine subtle oak spice with the scent of lavender and orange against a background of dark red cherry. On the palate, it is round, rich and velvety and is carried by a juicy acidity. The sandy tannins give the wine its shape and show a strong spiciness on the finish. Clean and well-defined." Decanter
"Aromas of ripe mulberries and blackberries with dark spices, burnt orange peel and earth. Full and structured with a deep core of ripe dark fruit and firm, chalky tannins. Long lasting finish." James Suckling

“Buonora” Bianco Etna DOC 2022
Scent of lemon, white flowers and crushed rock. A desire for more. This southern drop from Etna does not disappoint on the palate either. Lively acidity and a long mineral finish make this white wine a perfect accompaniment to food. Structure, elegance and pure white class from Etna. SUPERIORE.DE
"Buonora is an unoaked Carricante sourced from Contrada Feudo in Castiglione di Sicilia, and Contrada Salice in Milo. Steely and appley in aroma, the palate is sapid and juicy, with apple, blossom and apricot skin. Light, salty and pithy, it's an easygoing, pretty Etna Bianco." Decanter
"Lemon zest, white stone fruit, orchid blossom and chalk on the nose, followed by a medium body with clean, pleasant acidity. Structured and slightly phenolic on the palate with a flavourful finish." James Suckling
"Peachy and floral on the nose, with notes of melon and mixed citrus that emerge after a while, before more decadent notes of ripe fruit emerge in a very round and rich palate with a saline note." Wine Enthusiast
