![Chiaretto Bardolino DOC 2025]()
Chiaretto Bardolino DOC 2025
This exceptionally delicious classic rosé from Lake Garda: Chiaretto Bardolino presents itself in the glass as floral, sweet and nuanced, with notes of wild strawberries and candied citrus fruits. It is soft and supple, with brilliant acidity that maintains balance, and crisp red fruits that resonate beneath the rosy floral notes. It has an impressively long finish whilst remaining thoroughly refreshing. A subtle hint of minerality lingers. It is ideal as an aperitif and with light dishes, as well as a summery afternoon drink. ![Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC 2025 (BIO)]()
Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC 2025 (BIO)
Cerasuolo – the name is derived from "cerasa", meaning cherry, and also describes the vibrant colour of this rosé made from 100% Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. The Di Properzio brothers have been producing it in Spoltore, near Pescara, since 1990: Hand-harvested, 18 hours' maceration, followed by saignée and slow fermentation at a low temperature in stainless steel. No oak, no frills – just the grape variety and the terroir. Cherry red in the glass, with fresh sour cherry, strawberry and a hint of pomegranate on the nose. On the palate, lively acidity, a juicy texture and a salty minerality that recalls its proximity to the Adriatic Sea. Not a pale terrace rosé, but a wine with backbone – and one of Italy's often-underestimated rosati. SUPERIORE.DE

Morellino di Scansano DOCG 2024
Elisabetta Geppetti is more than just a winemaker – she is the "Signora del Morellino", the energetic woman who took over the reins of the family winery at the age of just 20 and helped the Maremma region to achieve international renown. When she pressed the first Morellino in 1985, she laid the foundations for a success story that continues to this day. This wine is the quantitative and qualitative calling card of Le Pupille – a constant, authentic expression of the terroir between Pereta and Magliano in Tuscany. The Morellino combines Sangiovese (90%) with Alicante and the autochthonous Ciliegiolo (5% each) from vineyards exposed to the south-west at an altitude of 50 to 250 metres. The vines, some of which are over 40 years old, are rooted in skeleton-rich, clayey and ferrous soils, cooled by sea breezes and strengthened by pronounced day-night temperature differences. After the harvest at the end of September, the must ferments on the skins for 15 days and matures for eight months, mainly in stainless steel tanks with a small proportion in used barriques.

“La Luna e i Falò" Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG 2023
The vines are planted where the Piedmont slopes gently at Canelli and the Barbera grape can develop its depth. Maurizio Castelli does not like fancy names. That's why he took a simple but original approach to naming the estate and its top wine: 414 – which is the number of the vineyard in the region's land register. His Morellino has become a true Italian classic with a modern interpretation. The grapes come from biodynamically farmed hills around Scansano with deep-rooted Sangiovese. The 2023 vintage was characterised by warm, sunny weather and moderate ripeness, ideal for aromatic clarity and balance. Temperature control during maceration and a subsequent maturation phase of around 12 months in large wooden barrels characterise this wine.

"Bronzone" is the powerful yet elegant Riserva from Tenuta Belguardo – a Morellino di Scansano that epitomises the modern class of the Maremma. The Sangiovese grapes, known here as Morellino, come from south-facing slopes on clay and limestone-rich soils near Grosseto. Old vines, low yields and consistent manual harvesting form the basis for this Riserva with a strong character. The 2021 vintage in the Maremma was characterised by a cool spring, followed by a warm, dry summer with cool nights, which produced perfectly ripe, aromatically concentrated berries. “Il Rosé di Casanova” Toscana IGT 2025 (BIO)
Inspired by Provence, born in Tuscany. When the Rivetti family decided to create a rosé, they chose their Casanova vineyard in Terricciola as the source – and Sangiovese and Prugnolo Gentile as the grape varieties. The latter is a local Sangiovese clone which, when combined with its 'big brother', produces a rosé with a surprising character. The grapes come from twenty-year-old vines growing on sandy soils of marine origin, cultivated organically. After destemming, there is a brief maceration of just one hour before the must is gently pressed. Fermentation lasts ten days, after which the wine rests on its fine lees in stainless steel for three months.

Michele Satta's Bolgheri Rosso is far more than just his bestseller – it is the authentic calling card of a non-conformist who was one of the first in Bolgheri to have the courage to marry international grape varieties with Tuscan Sangiovese. Satta took this revolutionary step back in 1982, two years before the Bolgheri DOC was founded, creating an archetype of the modern Bolgheri style. The speciality of this wine lies in its unconventional blend: 30% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon form the backbone, complemented by 20% Merlot and 10% each of Syrah and Pinot Noir – here lies Satta's stroke of genius – teroldego. This rare grape variety from Trentino gives the blend a unique freshness and mineral tension that clearly sets it apart from other Bolgheri wines.

“Le Gonnare” Vermentino Toscana IGT 2024
"My research into the world of white wines led to the creation of this unconventional wine. I have always realised that the most interesting aspect of Vermentino is in the skin. It is a delicious grape to eat, rich in aromatic notes. That's why I wanted to vinify Vermentino from the Le Gonnare vineyard, a small plot planted in 1987, and leave the skins to macerate with the must for 6 days during alcoholic fermentation. This has led to more aroma and the characteristic golden colour without making it heavy. A full-bodied and at the same time very cheerful wine." Fabio Motta

![Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG 2019]()
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG 2019
Tasting the Riserva from Fattoria del Cerro takes you stylistically to those higher vineyard sites where fossil-rich soils full of pebbles and ancient shell remains lend the Prugnolo Gentile a special mineral depth. The crowning glory of the Montepulciano hierarchy is created from these favoured plots – a wine that requires time and patience to reveal its multi-layered nature. After careful selection, the wine undergoes 18 months of refinement, combining tradition and innovation: Eight months in French barriques and tonneaux, followed by a further twelve to sixteen months in large wooden barrels. This combination creates a character of remarkable elegance and the wood integrates seamlessly without overshadowing the varietal fruit. A final twelve months of maturation in the bottle completes the harmonious development.

![Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG 2021 (BIO)]()
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG 2021 (BIO)
Riserva does not simply mean more time in Gracciano. It means different soil. The Maramai and Podere Rovisci crus provide the grape material for this wine – and Rovisci is the core of the whole: heavy clay content, brooding, water-retaining, with a ripening dynamic that elicits the densest, most concentrated side of the Prugnolo Gentile. Vines, some of which have been planted since 1970. 300 to 350 metres, south to south-east exposure, 30 hectolitres per hectare – consistently limited yields. Only in the best vintages does the della Seta Ferrari Corbelli Greco family decide to bottle a Riserva. 2021 was such a year. Prugnolo Gentile 90%, Merlot 10%. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts, 20 to 25 days of maceration in steel. Then aged for 24 months: the first twelve in French tonneaux of 3.5 and 5 hectolitres, the second twelve in large Slavonian oak barrels. Subsequent maturation in the bottle for at least six months.

!["Maroccoli" Syrah Sicilia Menfi DOC 2021]()
“Maroccoli” Syrah Sicilia Menfi DOC 2021
Maroccoli, around four hundred metres above sea level near Sambuca di Sicilia – where limestone with sandy layers forms the foundation and cool night air from the sea provides finesse, while the days are flooded with Sicilian sunshine. Diego Planeta recognised early on that Syrah on this island could be more than just an international variety: a hymn to the Mediterranean light, dry heat and barren soil that forces the vine to fight. The microfauna here is extremely active, the vines have to conquer their water – and produce grapes of exceptional ripeness and concentration.

VINUM has been published since 1980 and provides monthly information both in print and online. The mix of thoroughly researched reports, tasting notes and wine evaluations, as well as entertaining information on all aspects of the enjoyment of wine, makes the magazine a successful medium, and rightly so.
The appointed editors taste, describe and rate the best wines from the most relevant wine regions of Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and the so-called New World. In addition, unnoticed wine regions are also mentioned and given attention. The detailed wine guides with their descriptive tasting notes and ratings round off the offer in an informative way. The VINUM editors rate according to a relatively strict 20-point scale SUPERIORE.DE
