!["Tre Torri" Rosato Carignano del Sulcis DOC 2024]()
“Tre Torri” Rosato Carignano del Sulcis DOC 2024
A rosato with an island identity – clear, fresh and imbued with Mediterranean vigour. Tre Torri is made from 100% Carignano grapes, cultivated in the limestone and clay-rich vineyards of the lower Sulcis. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo extraction with a few hours of maceration at low temperature before being fermented in stainless steel tanks. This reduced vinification preserves freshness and terroir without distraction. A seductive cherry pink colour with a ruby red hue in the glass. The nose opens with delicate fruitiness: redcurrant, strawberry and red cherry, delicately surrounded by rose petals and a slightly spicy herbal note. Fresh, juicy and charming on the palate – with clear fruit and crisp acidity, which gives the wine a lively tension. The gentle finish is elegant, almost salty and delicate. SUPERIORE.DE

!["Pedraia" Nuragus di Cagliari DOC 2024]()
“Pedraia” Nuragus di Cagliari DOC 2024
A white wine that breathes the quiet identity of Sardinia – created from 100% Nuragus, the island's ancient indigenous grape variety. The grapes come from the oldest vineyards in the lower Sulcis, grown on sandy-clay soil, blown by the Mediterranean wind and characterised by warm, dry summers. Manual harvesting takes place late, often in autumn, in order to achieve maximum aromatic ripeness. The processing follows a clear line: gentle pressing, controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks and several months of maturation in cement tanks on the fine lees.

!["Grotta Rossa" Carignano del Sulcis DOC 2023]()
“Grotta Rossa” Carignano del Sulcis DOC 2023
Named after an iron-rich cave in the region, this wine symbolises what characterises the Sulcis in southern Sardinia: rough, warm, mineral and yet full of charm – and yet full of charm. The Carignano grapes come from old vines rooted in the calcareous, clayey-sandy soils around Santadi. The Mediterranean climate with warm days and cool nights promotes ripeness and freshness in equal measure. After temperature-controlled fermentation and completed malolactic fermentation, the wine matures traditionally in cement tanks.

The cuvée consists of 85% Carignano and 15% Sangiovese (!) and is produced on the red, sandy soils around the coastal area of Porto Pino. Here, the salty sea air characterises the grapes, while the chalky terraces provide structure. !["Noras" Cannonau di Sardegna DOC 2022]()
“Noras” Cannonau di Sardegna DOC 2022
A red wine with character – irresistible in its depth and yet with supple elegance. Noras comes from 90% Cannonau (Grenache) and 10% Carignano and is harvested from old vines rooted in sandy-granitic soils deep in the Sulcis terroir. After late manual harvesting, the must ferments at a controlled 22-24 °C for 12 days in stainless steel tanks, accompanied by regular pumping over to optimise extraction. Malolactic fermentation takes place early and spontaneously, followed by around six months of maturation in used French barriques. Before it is released for sale, Noras matures for a further six months in the bottle – a maturation and ageing process that gives it depth and elegance.

!["Villa di Chiesa" Bianco Valli di Porto Pino IGT 2023]()
“Villa di Chiesa” Bianco Valli di Porto Pino IGT 2023
A white wine that immediately tells of south-west Sardinia as soon as it touches the palate. Villa di Chiesa originates from the sun-kissed slopes of the lower Sulcis near Porto Pino – calcareous, sandy soils and a sea breeze provide the aromatic essence of this characterful cuvée of Vermentino and Chardonnay. Even the name refers to history: "Villa di Chiesa" was once the medieval name for Iglesias, the town near which viticulture, mining and culture are closely intertwined – a subtle nod to the deep roots of this wine in the local context.

!["Shardana" Rosso Valli di Porto Pino IGT 2020]()
“Shardana” Rosso Valli di Porto Pino IGT 2020
The name Shardana refers to a mysterious, seafaring people of the Bronze Age, described by historians as part of the legendary Sea Peoples. Many assume that the Shardana originated from Sardinia – or at least settled here – before they became famous in the Mediterranean as fearless warriors and skilful navigators. Their symbols – horned helmets, round shields, depictions of ships – can still be found today in nuraghi and ancient inscriptions. With the name Shardana, Cantina Santadi builds a bridge from the past to the present. The wine symbolises the island's ancient, proud identity: unshakeable, powerful, full of character. It is no coincidence that the Carignano – a grape variety with deep roots in the south of the island – takes centre stage here. Like the Shardana itself, this wine defies time and fashion, remains true to itself and tells a story of origin, resistance and pride.

Terre Brune: A monument to the art of Sardinian viticulture, borne by the year 2020, which wonderfully captured the essence of the island in its balance between heat and night-time equalisation. For Terre Brune, this meant a late harvest accompanied by cool nights. The result: maturity in harmony with freshness, expressive and enriching. Incidentally, the 2020 vintage was a gift of ripeness everywhere in southern Sardinia. Warm spells were balanced out by Atlantic breezes and the grapes remained healthy and aromatic. Opulent on the palate, with dense fruit but never loud, carried by noble, ripe tannins. The success of Cantina Sociale di Santadi is due to the performance of a very large team. Nearly three hundred smallholders with an average of just two hectares of vineyards, a very successful management, an efficient sales team and many hard-working employees have all contributed, thanks to their professionalism, to the fact that the winegrowers' cooperative in the heart of the Sulcis region, founded in 1960 thanks to the commitment of a group of winegrowers, has not only become a flagship of Sardinia, but also an important reference for the Italian wine industry. One of the most important foundations for the rise of the cooperative under its current president Antonello Pilloni is its early and clear commitment to traditional indigenous grape varieties such as Carignano, Cannonau, Monica, Vermentino and Nuragus. The Santadi cooperative also secures the livelihood of many winegrowers in the southwest of the island and successfully prevents rural exodus.
The winegrowers from the varied coastal area near Porto Pino, consisting of low mountain ranges and flat areas, are advised by experts from the cooperative and therefore create something extraordinary. The grapes come exclusively from vineyards within a radius of around 30 kilometres, some of which are still grown in ancient vineyards in the traditional Alberello culture (buscher education). The assortment is high-quality and extensive. The best red wines of Cantina Santadi - Superiore and Riserve - mature in French oak barriques and after bottling in the bottle. The efforts of the Sardinian winery for the aromatic local Nasco vine, from which delicious sweet wines are made, are very commendable.
The Cantina Santadi management team is characterized by determination and enthusiasm. After difficult beginnings in the eighties, he not only succeeded in successfully breaking new ground and using different strategies, but also landed the world-famous oenologist Giacomo Tachis as a production consultant. Thanks to his great professional commitment, the wines of the cooperative winery achieved a significant leap in quality. They were quickly recognized in the most important international markets and received numerous awards from then on. In 1984 Santadi launched the Carignano del Sulcis Terre Brune, the first red wine in Sardinia to be aged in barriques, according to Santadi. This noble wine was euphorically received by the market and is still considered today to be the prestige wine of the Sardinian cooperative. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Santadi cooperative in the southwest of the island has not only produced absolute quality wines in the 1980s, but has also demonstrated to other cooperatives on the island that with good, conscientious work, which begins with sensitising grape suppliers to quality in the vineyard, excellent results can also be achieved in cooperative wineries."Gambero Rosso
