“Crognolo” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019
Dark fruits form the backbone of its aromatic body, to which a moderately dosed floral and balsamic perfume lends additional charm and freshness. The dense flavour is coherent, exuding its spiciness in a relaxed manner while revealing a fine tannic grid. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark ruby red. In the nose hints of pickled cherries, delicate pepper spice, reverberates of wild berries, shows fine nuances of Mediterranean herbs and mint. On the palate with fine juiciness and pithy fruit, shows itself lively, gentle persistence in the final." Falstaff
"This is about purity of fruit and texture, featuring a core of black cherry and blackberry flavors, shaded by soy, earth and eucalyptus. Gathers density as this builds to a solid, lingering finish." Wine Spectator
"Sweet berries, flowers and cedar on the nose. Some leather, too. It’s medium-to full-bodied with lightly chewy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Shows tension and brightness. Excellent structure." James Suckling

“Vigna dell’Impero 1935” Rosso Val d’Arno di Sopra DOC 2015
The Sangiovese grapes of this wine come from the vineyard of the Empire of His Royal Highness the Count of Turin, Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy, who planted it in 1935. The soil is a mixture of clay and gravel, rich in marl and rock, which gives the grapes a spectacular minerality. The variations in temperature during the day play a decisive role in developing the finest aromas, which are elegant and complex. The wine, bottled in numbered bottles, is not filtered in order to preserve all the typical varietal notes and characteristics of Sangiovese. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, intense garnet red. Very open and accessible nose, old-style in the best sense, of rhubarb, pomegranate, sour cherry and cherry stones. Relaxed and supple at the base, it opens with a grippy, fine-grained tannin, salty and very long, ripe fruit in the aftertaste". (Place 45 / 100 "Best 100 under 100€) Falstaff
"The 2015 Valdarno di Sopra Vigna dell'Impero offers aromas of candied cherry, blackberry, spice and leather. The finish is on the soft side, and I am assigning a slightly shorter drinking window for this warm vintage as a result. The fruit is concentrated and rich, thanks to the heat of the growing season." Robert Parker
"A tight and focused red with cherry, earth and orange peel. Roses, too. Full body yet very reserved with ultra-fine tannins and a fresh finish. Linear and beautiful. Old vine sangiovese. Shows outstanding potential. " James Suckling

On the palate, dark berries, chocolate and a cornucopia of herbs define the full body. This wine monument has precisely integrated tannins, an enormous silkiness and a seemingly endless finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich ruby red. Expressive and inviting nose of ripe strawberries and red currants, a hint of raspberry jam, carried by nuances of fine wood and cigar box. Falstaff
"This vibrant red is saturated with black cherry, blackberry, iron and underbrush flavors. The tannins turn chewy on the finish, where a note of bitter almond lingers along with freshness." Wine Spectator
"Wow. Fantastic aromas of blackberries, currants, minerals, violets and graphite. Full-bodied with firm, silky tannins that are incredibly polished and intense, yet ever so refined and integrated in the wine. It goes on for minutes. The is one of the best modern-day Orenos so far. "The 2017 Crognolo is laced with crushed red berry, spice, orange peel and mint flavors. In this vintage, Crognolo is light in body and structure. I would prefer to drink it on the young side." Vinous

“Oreno 20 anni” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019 · BALTHAZAR 12 Liters in OWC
Deep dark ruby violet. On the nose, cassis, blackcurrant and a powerful herbal spiciness with a good dose of pipe tobacco, tar and crushed boulders.
Very polished palate entry, opens in the mouth with delicate creaminess and velvety tannin, noble spice and fruit at the core, shows considerable juiciness at the back and thus draught, great length and elegance." Falstaff
Best in 2025 and onwards." James Suckling

"Rich, sparkling ruby with a slight violet shimmer. Complex nose with notes of cedar, black truffle, then lots of cassis and blackberry. Round and supple on the palate, showing well matured fruit, exceedingly precise, fine, polished tannin, very long, dark chocolate in the finish." Falstaff
"This is a dark, concentrated and full-bodied expression that exudes black fruit and blackberry with spicy tobacco and savory spice. Despite the Bordeaux blend in its DNA, the wine is fully Tuscan in character and spirit, with the softness and fullness that comes from fruit cultivated under the golden sunshine of Central Italy." Robert Parker
"Currant, flower and orange-blossom aromas follow through to a full body with fine, creamy tannins and a long, persistent finish. Shows finesse and precision. Cherry and orange-peel notes at the end. The flavors go on and on." James Suckling

The Sette Ponti winery, near Arezzo in Chianti Classico, takes its name from the seven bridges between Arezzo and Florence that motorists have to cross on their way there. The vineyard hills were laid out by the former owner, Archduke Leopold of Habsburg. The estate was later transferred to the Savoy family dynasty, which, however, only occasionally took care of winegrowing. In 1935 the vines were planted for the still today produced "Vigna di Pallino" planted. In the mid-1990s Antonio Moretti took over the vineyard from his father Alberto, who had originally acquired the farmhouse in the 1950s with the intention of setting off from there to hunt with friends.
Viticulture has always been practised in the Tenuta Sette Ponti. It was not until 1996, however, that Antonio, who owns several other estates in Italy, devoted himself to this work with greater dedication. He hired an international team of experts to bring the company to the forefront in terms of quality and to make all the changes necessary for this step. In 1998 Antonio created the "Crognolo" from the Sangiovese grape variety and one year later the cult wine. "Oreno Rosso di Toscana"A cuvée of the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties.
Antonio is supported by a top-class technical team with oenologist Carlo Ferrini and his assistant Gioia Cresti. Ferrini is considered an important and innovative business consultant in the Tuscan wine world. For example, he has worked for Castello di Brolio, Castello di Fonterutoli, Poliziano and Castello di Terriccio.
The Tenuta Sette Ponti extends over 330 hectares, of which more than 50 hectares are planted with vines. The oldest vineyard, the Vigna dell'Impero, was created in 1935. Sangiovese thrives mainly on it; today it is mainly used for IGT wine. „Oreno“is used. SUPERIORE.DE
"Once again in Tuscany, more specifically in Castiglion Fibocchi, we have with the Tenuta Sette Ponti the "Winery of the year" discovered. It stands as a symbol for a quality orientated wine-growing with devotion. With his vision of markets and growing areas - from Tuscany to Sicily - Antonio Moretti achieves excellence in each of his companies."Gambero Rosso
