Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Subtle ruby red colour with light reflections. Warm, well-dosed bouquet of wild berries, cherries and some smoke. Fine tannins on the palate, with plenty of juice and fruit at the core, floral and spicy notes, compact. A fine salty vein in the harmonious finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Ruby dark red; peppery notes, arouses curiosity; juicy, sweetness, balanced, length, drinky, pleasing." (JLF) Merum
"Very typical, elegant, with polished tannins and full of fruity charm, sour cherry, some chocolate, sweet fruit melting, round." Weinwisser
"Pleasing nose of black cherries, flanked by plum notes and tobacco; polished attack, finely chiselled acidity, fruity and mineral finish." Vinum
"Medium ruby red colour with a slightly brightening rim. Leather, ripe cherry and some undergrowth on the nose, then slightly spicy and balsamic. Grippy on the palate, with gripping, somewhat rustic tannins, then beautifully juicy on the finish. To savoury Tuscan dishes." Falstaff
"One of the best-balanced 2020s, Gracciano della Seta's Vino Nobile is discreetly padded with an abundance of dark, fleshy cherry, yet remains straightforward and sculptural. The tannins are slightly steely but yield smoothly, while zesty, citrusy acidity provides graceful support. Nuances of forest, leather and mint interweave with notes of orange that linger." Decanter
"This spicy red wine contains notes of dried herbs and olive pits, which mingle with cherries and blood oranges. It is medium-bodied, juicy and beautifully balanced. Fine tannins. Fresh and flavoursome finish." James Suckling

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Intense ruby red Vino Nobile Riserva with a spicy bouquet of aromas of dried fruit, cinnamon, cloves and liquorice. Smooth on the palate with a variety of nuances, beautiful fullness, structure and intensity, supple tannins. Very elegant pleasure at an excellent price. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich ruby red colour with a slightly brightening rim. Ripe sour cherries, plums and blueberries on the nose, followed by spicy notes. Fresh and juicy on the palate, with rather young tannins and a lingering finish. Rich ruby red colour with a slightly lighter rim. Ripe sour cherries, plums and blueberries on the nose, followed by spicy notes. Fresh and juicy on the palate, with rather young tannins and a lingering finish." Falstaff
"An air of crushed chalk and white pepper gives way to red plums and sage as the 2019 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva opens in the glass. It's velvety-smooth yet energetic in feel, with a wave of ripe raspberry and blueberry fruit carried across a core of vibrant acidity. The 2019 finishes harmonious and long, leaving the mouth watering for more, even as grippy tannins tug at the palate." Vinous
"Walnuts, bitter chocolate, cherries and tapenade on the nose. Savory and chewy, medium-bodied, with firm tannins and a compact, meaty finish." James Suckling
"A proper Riserva, this could do with another year or so in the cellar and will have mid-term ageing potential. A selection from the Casale vineyard, one of four estate plots, on a loose clay and sandy soil with limestone, it's typically the last to be harvested. The seductive nose shows a subtle hint of vanilla mixed with heady truffle and cedar nuances. There is lovely purity of cherry and plum on the ample, concentrated palate, while dry, commanding tannins give plenty of structure." Decanter

The exclusivity of the wines of the Tenuta di Gracciano della Seta is documented until the middle of the 19th century. Thus, in 1864 the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano of the winery won the main prize of the International Wine Festival of Turin. A small number of very old bottles from the company known at that time as Cantine Svetoni, founded by the Seta Ferrari Corbelli family in the heart of the Sienese region at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level, are still in the winery today. The wine house with the resounding name, which is surrounded by a magnificent Italian garden built around 1800, quickly succeeded in establishing itself nationwide as a top producer. By the way, the estate was once the centre of a 600-hectare estate employing hundreds of workers. The foundation stone for today's winery was laid in 1960 by Piera della Mazzucchelli della Seta Ferrari Corbelli Greco.
Today, wine lovers from all over the world benefit from the grape yields of the 70 hectare estate, which have now been significantly reduced to 30 to 35 hectolitres per hectare. The reduction in yield allows a loving production and gives the wines a concentrated taste. In addition to two classic Vino Nobile, the winery with a deep garnet red Rosso di Montepulciano has another impressive distinguished „little brother“ in a very manageable assortment. Beppe Rigoli is available as a consultant in the cellar. In his Fattoria Ambra, the oenologist produces a number of wines from different vineyards, where he expresses the elegance of Carmignano with great ability, sympathy and modesty. The plants of the Tenuta di Gracciano della Seta move between elegance and power. They mature in new French and Slavic oak barrels as well as in French tonneaux.
The Gracciano hills, on which the berries of the Tuscan producer grow on about 18 hectares, contain limestone and clay. Hot summers and mild winters in Montepulciano are good conditions for viticulture. In the Tenuta di Gracciano a Sangiovese clone is cultivated with the dominant grape variety Prugnolo Gentile as well as some Canaiolo, Mammolo and Merlot (for the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano). The style of the Sangiovese grapes, cultivated by Piera's granddaughter Vannozza, lies between that of classic Chianti and that of Brunello di Montalcino. In recent years the winery has undergone a major renewal programme. Many old vines have been replaced by optimized new Prugnolo Gentile vines. Also the cellar changed fundamentally and corresponds today to very modern standards. SUPERIORE.DE
