“Keya” Chiaretto Bardolino Classico DOC 2021
Keya is the impressive result of several years of experimental work, and the result is a rosato that perfectly expresses the style and personality of the Rizzardi sites in the hills above Bardolino. The label is a tribute to the Venetian heritage of the Contessa M.C. Loredan, she ran the winery for many years and was instrumental in making Chiaretto Bardolino a much-loved wine classic of the region. The name is derived from the first two syllables of Chi-a-ret-to (KEY-A). Bright pink-red. On the nose, a delicate aroma of lemon, blood orange and elderberries. Prosecco officially turns pink: The newly approved Prosecco DOC Rosé is made by blending the main variety Glera with at least 10 to a maximum of 15 per cent Pinot Nero, the only red variety permitted in the regulations since 2020. The sparkling process must last at least two months, twice as long as for white Prosecco DOC.
The first edition of the Prosecco Il Fresco Rosé Millesimato presents itself in a delicate salmon pink and smells of flowers and raspberries with delicate, spicy hints. Since its first issue in 1980, the Austrian Falstaff has become the most important gourmet magazine in the German-speaking world and deals with everything that might please our taste buds. It was named after Sir John Falstaff, the roly-poly knight who loves to drink and eat and who appears in several of William Shakespeare's plays.
The culinary lifestyle magazine, which started as a two-man business, is now the highest-circulation German-language trade magazine with various editions for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Edited by Wolfgang M. Rosam and his wife Angelika, it is published in eight annual issues (and since 2021 also in English) with countless recommendations on the best wines, restaurants, hotels, bars and events in the world.
The editor-in-chief for Italy is the South Tyrolean wine expert and Falstaff veteran Othmar Kiem, who has been with the magazine since 1999 and not only tastes hundreds of Italian wines every year, but also portrays the matching dishes and the corresponding wine regions. In detailed tasting notes, the wines are rated according to the widespread 100-point scale, in which the good wines - and thus also the fun - only really start at 80 points upwards.
