“Selezione RS” Chianti Classico DOCG 2020
The wines of La Badia have their clear style: Clean and traditionally vinified, they always give great pleasure. Intense ruby red, the bouquet with notes of forest fruits and spices, the full-bodied taste of the Roberto Stucchi is wonderfully smooth, the acidity well balanced and the finish clean and long-lasting. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Chianti Classico RS Cultusboni is a dense, powerful wine. Black cherry, cloves, scorched earth and licorice show the darker side of Sangiovese. There's good depth, even if at times the 2020 feels a bit heavy and monolithic." Vinous

Chianti Classico DOCG 2020
Bright ruby red, open-hearted notes of cherry, raspberry and violet, paired with green pepper and cloves. Delicate on the palate, with a nice draw. Delicately fine tannins, lively supported by a fresh acidity framework with subtle extract sweetness, round off the immensely authentic and juicy Tuscan experience. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling ruby with a light garnet shimmer. Very appealing and fragrant nose, full of ripe raspberries, some cranberries, fresh and clear. Also shows a lot of fresh fruit on the palate, opens with grippy, hearty tannin, nice drinking flow, juicy." Falstaff
"From a hot vintage, the 2020 Chianti Classico shows ripe cherry fruit that is prominent but not overdone. Fresh acidity gives balance to this red. The season became very hot and dry toward the end of summer, causing dehydration and the berries to shrink. Fortunately, the vines shut down at the highest temperatures as a defense mechanism, and the wine's color, freshness and fruit flavors were largely protected. This Sangiovese-based wine has tiny percentages of Pugnitello and Colorino in the blend. This is a job well done." Wine Advocate
"A medium-to full-bodied Chianti Classico with fresh strawberries, grapefruit, raspberries and a herbal undertone. This is juicy and transparent with a tight, tannic structure. Not austere, though." James Suckling
"This supple red shows a core of cherry and plum fruit allied to olive, juniper and tobacco notes. Delivers well-integrated tannins and acidic structure, lingering nicely on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The labels by San Felice, one of the staples of the appellation in Castelnuovo Berardenga, are always reliable. Blend of Sangiovese, Colorino, Pugnitello, black cherry under spirits on the nose, with touches of licorice and undergrowth. The mouthfeel has brackish tannins, balsamic-officinal return and a lingering finish." Luca Gardini

“Berardenga” Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG 2020
Balanced Chianti Colli Senesi with abundant sweet cherry and plum aromas matched by spice and tobacco notes. Assertive tannins and a taut acidity make the Berardenga a complex version of the Senesi. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Chianti Colli Senesi is bold, powerful and super-expressive. Cedar, tobacco, leather, dried herbs and perfumed earthy undertones give the 2020 its distinctive aromatic profile. This mid-weight, layered Colli Senesi has a ton to offer. The purity of the fruit comes through nicely, especially with air. It's Colli Senesi, and yet the creaminess of the finish is a tell-tale sign of a high-quality year." Vinous

“Duelame” Chianti Classico DOCG 2019 (BIO)
"Duelame" is the successor to the popular "Etichetta Bianca". The name derives from "lama", a word that in a geological sense refers to a kind of blade, i.e. a notch where the village of Lamole lies in the middle of two high plateaus. On the nose and palate, fine aromas of cherry and blueberry together with the pleasant spicy note and silky tannin create the perfect image of a Chianti Classico of traditional make. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, luminous ruby red with a shimmering core. Restrained on the nose with notes of fresh sour cherry and rose petals. Clear and direct on the palate, with good grip, pulls all the way through, with delicate fruit notes on the medium-length finish." Falstaff

“Maggiolo” Chianti Classico DOCG 2020 (BIO)
From the 2019 vintage, the successor to the famous "Eticchetta Blu" is called "Maggiolo", derived from maggio (May) and giaggiolo (iris). The latter litter the fields in May with its blossoms and floral scents, which we also find in the bouquet of this Chianti Classico. Bright ruby red, fruity aromas of violets, mulberries, blackberries and blueberries as well as hints of sweet spices and cocoa. Very fresh and juicy on the palate, then the soft tannins envelop the pretty fruit core and, together with a fine saltiness, lead into the medium-long finish. A wonderfully balanced and palatable red from organic cultivation, which will certainly not get old in a merry circle. Drinking pleasure at a high level! SUPERIORE.DE

“Pèppoli” Chianti Classico DOCG 2020
Sparkling, intense ruby with a light garnet shimmer. The Pèppoli already expresses its strength of personality with the bouquet of ripe fruit, in which light mineral accents can be found. "The 2020 Chianti Classico Pèppoli is very pretty, silky wine with lovely bright red berry fruit. Hints of spice, leather and tobacco lend nuance to this attractive, value-priced Chianti Classico. The 2020 is a serious wine in its peer group. Impressive." Vinous
"This is a fun, easy-drinking red with a steady following. The Marchesi Antinori 2020 Chianti Classico Pèppoli marks the beginning of a new chapter for this popular bottle. Feeling that the wine had become too austere in recent years, the winemaking team opted for bigger oak barrels for less invasive oak. Fruit is selected from across various villages in the appellation. A tiny element of Merlot in this Sangiovese-based wine adds softness. These are logical choices that follow recent vintage trends, and here you get ripe cherry, crème de cassis and lightly toasted spice. It's a classic package and a good value." Wine Advocate

Chianti & Chianti Classico - Red wines with tradition from Tuscany.
Few people know what the many differences between Chianti and Chianti Classico are. The production area of the Chianti DOCG zone covers about half of Tuscany, with altitudes ranging from 50 to 700 metres. But those who talk about Chianti usually mean the core area, the landscape between Florence and Siena, with its picturesque historical centres, well-decorated country houses, morbid castles and renowned wineries, through which the picturesque Strada Chiantigiana meanders. Here excellent red wines from experienced and highly awarded winegrowers are produced. The list of famous wineries is long, here you can find the wonderful wines of Ricasoli, Castellare, Castello di Ama, Felsina, Fonterutoli, Fontodi, Isole e Olena, Rocca delle Macie, Rocca di Montegrossi and many others.
In Chianti, the famous Sangiovese grape variety shows all its style of fine acidity and elegance.
It is the most important grape in Chianti Classico and there is hardly an Italian grape that is so versatile. It is not only the base for Chianti and Chianti Classico, but also for the noblest Brunello (Sangiovese Grosso) and Vino Nobile (Prugnolo Gentile). However, the Chiantis production area is much larger and stretches from the hills north of Florence to the west and east along the Arno river and to the south it also includes the areas around the famous wine villages of Montalcino and Montepulciano. To the east, the area is bordered by the splendid Monti del Chianti, which merge into the Apennines.
Between the vineyards of the entire cultivation zone Romanesque churches stand – known as Pievi – and the castles of Florentine and Sienese warlords. All in all, the six provinces of Arezzo, Florence, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato and Siena, with more than a hundred towns and municipalities, belong to the large area.
