Karmis, an animating white wine based on Vernaccia, comes from the lower Tirso Valley in the area between Cabras and Baratili - where the climate is typically Mediterranean with mild winters, little rain and very hot, breezy summers. And so its colour is brilliant and deep yellow, the bouquet delicate but persistent with hints of fresh fruit. Soft, full and with good flavour correspondence on the palate. The "I Giganti" line, with its three wines, represents Contini's top collection. In white, rosé and red, they pay homage to the large statues that were discovered in the 1970s in the archaeological site of Mont'e Prama, just 2 km from the Cabras pond. They were farmers working the fields with their ploughs, bringing to light the precious treasures of the past. These sandstone figures were called "giants" because of their considerable size. They represent brave warriors, symbols of strength and courage.

I Giganti Rosa is an exciting cuvée of Nieddera and Cannonau. Delicate, elegant pink with peach-coloured reflections. Delicate and fruity on the nose, reminiscent of fresh roses with notes of citrus and raspberries. Taut and firm on the palate, very decisive with fresh, salty citrus notes and respectable persistence. SUPERIORE.DE

The name Mamaioa (ladybird) stands for happiness and, in this case, unspoilt nature. The vines from which the grapes for this cheerful and very flavoursome red come are cultivated according to strict organic principles on loamy limestone soils. Ruby red in colour with violet reflections. Fruity, fresh bouquet of red fruits and meadow herbs. Soft, juicy and precise on the palate. This masterful Vernaccia matures for 4 years in small Caratello barrels, whose natural shrinkage is never topped up so that the yeast flora, which is very characteristic of this Vernaccia, forms on the surface and not only produces the characteristic flavours, but also gives it its name.

Bright ochre yellow with golden reflections. Rich, multi-layered bouquet of apricot and orange zest, rounded off with a delicate almond flavour and warm honey notes. A wonderful texture and freshness on the palate, the primary yellow-fruity flavours are present, complemented by a fine salty vein with a mineral note on the finish. I Giganti Bianco, an exciting cuvée of Vermentino and Vernaccia, is a straw-coloured wine with beautiful golden notes. It is characterised by excellent intensity and finesse, followed by present notes of white spices, some chamomile and Mediterranean scrub. Spicy and distinctive Tharros Rosso from Nieddera vineyards. Clear ruby red in the glass with a fine lustre. Complex and fine nose with Maraska cherry, liquorice and blackcurrant jelly. Vernaccia di Oristano Antico Gregori Riserva was not only named dessert wine of the year in Gambero Rosso 2021, but was also given a vintage for the first time in this edition. Since this year it was possible to fill a little more than in other years, this year they did without the normally undertaken assemblage of the best vintages of the last century. Nevertheless, or precisely because of this, it became a breathtaking wine that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of intensity, ripeness and depth! SUPERIORE.DE

Vernaccia di Oristano Antico Gregori Riserva was not only named dessert wine of the year in Gambero Rosso 2021 (1976 vintage), but was also bottled in this 1979 vintage edition. As it was possible to bottle a little more this year than in other years, the usual assemblage of the best vintages of the last century was dispensed with this year. Nonetheless, or perhaps precisely because of this, it is, as always, a breathtaking wine that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of intensity, maturity and depth! SUPERIORE.DE
