    • "Campo Maccione" Vermentino Maremma Toscana DOC 2020

“Campo Maccione” Vermentino Maremma Toscana DOC 2020

Campo Maccione - a single-varietal Vermentino from the sun-drenched vineyards in Maremma, where the salty air of the sea is of crucial importance in the ripening of this ancient variety, as the special aroma of the wine confirms. Ten percent of the grapes are fermented in barrique, giving it a slender stature that is pleasantly acidic. On the nose, lemony notes and aromas of bright fruits and on the palate with a hearty finish. SUPERIORE.DE

“Famiglia Zingarelli” Chianti Classico DOCG 2018

Generous aromas of fresh fruit, dried flowers, a light spiciness and moist earth. The taste is wonderful, with exactly the tension of tannin, acidity and fruit, as it should be for a straight Chianti Classico. SUPERIORE.DE

Traditional Chianti Classico Riserva from a very good vintage: ruby red, intense and refined bouquet with fruity aromas and a very soft vanilla-tobacco touch; persistent taste, well-balanced tannins, well defined body. Has good storage potential. SUPERIORE.DE

"Dark glowing ruby red. Open nose, after raspberries and wild berries, honeydew melon, gentle spice underlines the bouquet. On the palate clear and fine, stretches beautifully, unfussy, medium body, balanced and harmonious until the final." Falstaff

"The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva Famiglia Zingarelli is a forward, juicy wine for the vintage. Sweet dark cherry, leather, tobacco, spice, pine, cedar and dried flowers add aromatic nuance to this fruity, forward Riserva. Dollops of Colorino and Cabernet Sauvignon round out the blend. This is very nicely done." Vinous

“Riserva di Fizzano” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2015

Intense, sparkling ruby. Clear and memorable nose of cherry, some hazelnut, fine juicy plums. Plenty of richness and ripeness on the palate with flavors of dark cherry and spice that are both compelling and generous. Finely meshed, polished tannin, opens clear and straightforward, very fine, lots of plum on the palate as well, plus black cherry, plum, espresso, smoke, licorice and leather notes. In the reverberation fine cloves. This juicy wine shows a good sense of depth, attraction and balance. SUPERIORE.DE

"Intense bright ruby with a brilliant core. Slightly leathery notes in the nose, accompanied by rich blackberries, some shoe polish, licorice, rose scent. Very pleasant drink, no frills acidity, fruit and tannin harmonize well. Medium length, firm pressure on the final, emphatically juicy again at the back." Falstaff

    • "Sergioveto" Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2015

“Sergioveto” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2015

With this vintage Sergioveto from the vineyard Pian della Casina is for the first time a real Chianti Classico Riserva and is also made from 100% Sangiovese. Bright ruby red. Warm, balsamic bouquet of black cherry, some plum and blackcurrant syrup, on the palate then firm, complex and spicy. The fruit is beautifully present and has a wonderfully long finish with notes of leather and sweet tobacco. The well structured tannins perfectly round off the overall picture of a serious red with personality and character. The 20/24 month aging in French oak barrels (25-35 hl), followed by another year in the bottle, enriches the aromatic complexity of the wine with a clear focus on balance and elegance. SUPERIORE.DE

"Chocolate, rum raisins, intense herbal notes. In the mouth dense, almost fleshy, mineral grounded, has body sweetness on the basis of a very tight tannin structure. And takes time." Falstaff

"The 2015 Chianti Classico Riserva Ser Gioveto brings together all the elements of Sergio Zingarelli's philosophy. Plush and radiant, with striking textural richness, the Ser Gioveto has plenty to offer, with a forward, plush personality that can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. Sweet tobacco, cedar, leather and new oak accents are nicely done. The rich, dense style works well here." Vinous

"I love the balance here between freshness and concentration, embodied by the interplay of dried berries, sandalwood, fresh violets, blueberry cake and spices. Very refined and silky on the palate, which the acidity does well to spice up and energize. Medium to full body and a medium-chewy finish." James Suckling

"A wonderful expression of Sangiovese, featuring a core of cherry flavors allied to leather, iron, sandalwood and tobacco notes. Shows sweetness midpalate, backed by a muscular structure. Fine length." Wine Spectator

Deep purple. Spicy Cabernet nose of herbs, fine blackberry notes, some chocolate and wild raspberries. The pronounced fruit carries this monumental, pure Cabernet Sauvignon to the long final. The tannins provide a stable framework and give this wonderful red a long life. SUPERIORE.DE

"Rich, noble ruby. In the nose it shows beautiful notes of ripe cassis, delicate smoke and fine spice, in the aftertaste it reminds of honeycomb. On the palate with a fresh entry, pithy, tightly woven tannin, spreads widely, good length with a slightly mineral aftertaste." Falstaff

"Rocca delle Macie's 2015 Roccato, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is plush and inviting. Black cherry, chocolate, espresso, menthol, licorice and cloves all race out of the glass in a sumptuous, racy Cabernet Sauvignon that hits all the right notes. Medium in body and expressive, the 2015 has plenty to offer." Vinous

"A thickly textured red, boasting plum, fruitcake, milk chocolate, leather, earth and spice notes. Dense, tannic and rigid on the finish for now." Wine Spectator

Bright red with ruby reflections. Blueberry and cherry, hints of plums, leather and spicy notes. In the taste nuances of hazelnut, fleshy-full notes. Mineral and persistent in the finish. A great wine! SUPERIORE.DE

"Intense, bright ruby red with a shiny core. Fine nose of very ripe cherries, dried rose petals and delicate violets. A very smooth palate, enveloped in velvety tannins and a juicy draft, spans a wide arch and slowly builds up in many layers, remarkable elegance, great finish". Falstaff

"The team at Rocca delle Macìe hits an impressive stride with the 2014 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Sergio Zingarelli. This was not an easy growing season, but a commitment has evidently been taken here to severely limit fruit selection to only the best clusters. The wine opens to dark fruit tones of dried cherry and blackberry with spice, leather and tar. You also get that unique aroma of crushed stones that is so specific to Chianti Classico." • "Sergio Zingarelli" Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2015

“Sergio Zingarelli” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2015

The house's top wine, named after the owner, is the result of many years of work in the vineyard and dates back to the year 2000, when the winery began replanting many of its own areas with Sangiovese. To this day Sergio Zingarelli pursues the goal of interpreting his existing terroir as authentically as possible. The result is the highest classification Gran Selezione, which is confirmed every year by the Consortium and is only given to the best growth of the appellation.

Rich ruby. Concentrated nose of herbs, black cherry, chocolate, earthy notes and oak spice. On the palate a juicy and soft fruit, refined tannins, dynamically spicy, glides into a respectable finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"Dark chocolate, cocoa bean, and bitter herbs. Soft to the touch, initially floury, slowly increasing in granularity, a palate structure that already shows the first signs of rounding off, to which the impression of a markedly mild acidity also contributes. A wine that defines itself through its power". Falstaff

"This is the top-shelf wine from Sergio Zingarelli. His namesake 2015 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Sergio Zingarelli shows rich concentration and a seamless delivery of aromas that spans from black cherry and plum to spice and moist pipe tobacco. The fruit here is soft and luscious, but the mouthfeel is medium in length. It would turn a platter of modest carne asada soft tacos into an important dinner." Robert Parker

"Very ripe and rich red with dried-berry, plum, mushroom and bark character on the nose and palate. Fully body. Velvety texture." James Suckling

"Distinctly sweet in aroma and flavor, this red offers ripe cherry, black currant, earth and oak spice flavors. Vibrant, with support from assertive, refined tannins, which drive the long finish." Wine Spectator

Ruby red, intense and refined bouquet with fruity aromas and a very soft touch of vanilla and tobacco; persistent taste, well balanced tannins, well defined body. SUPERIORE.DE

"Sparkling, intense ruby with a fine garnet hue. Intense and finely drawn nose, full of ripe cherries, plums and raspberries, underlaid with cinnamon tones. Firm and substantial on the palate, well built, much fine-meshed, dense tannin, covered with sweet enamel, very long finish". Falstaff

"A firm and silky red with blueberry, blackberry and cherry aromas and flavors. Medium body, firm tannins. Hazelnut and chocolate undertones. Very structured and linear." James Suckling

"A broad, meaty red, this offers black cherry, plum, leather and spice flavors. A solid mineral element emerges as this builds to a long aftertaste. Balanced, this has a power that should be matched to grilled meat." Wine Spectator

“Sergio Zingarelli” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2013

Bright red with ruby reflections. Blueberry and cherry, hints of plums, leather and spicy notes. In the taste nuances of hazelnut, fleshy-full notes. Mineral and persistent in the finish. A great wine! SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2013 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Sergio Zingarelli is this estate's most ambitious wine. This Gran Selezione is robust and powerfully endowed in terms of its aromatic impact. In contrast, the mouthfeel is more streamlined and fine. This blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Colorino walks a fine line between bulk and finesse. The texture is silky and the wine offers pretty notes of dried cherry, plum and toasted spice on the finish." Robert Parker

"A tangy and fruity red with dark berry, dark chocolate and spice character. Medium to full body, lightly chewy tannins and a bright finish. A little extracted now." James Suckling

Falstaff

"This red shows red plums, raspberries and hints of light cedar. Medium to full body, soft and juicy tannins and a nice finish." James Suckling

You also get that unique aroma of crushed stones that is so specific to Chianti Classico." Robert Parker

"This shows richness and breadth, featuring notes of plum, coffee, iron and leather, punctuated by cherry hints and tangy acidity. Finishes firm and dense, with a fresh feel." Wine Spectator

“Sergio Zingarelli” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2015 · MAGNUM in OWC

A wine that defines itself through its power." Falstaff

About the winemakersRocca delle MacieTuscany | Chianti
    Rocca delle Macie

Although the company is one of the largest in Chianti Classico, the owners, Sergio and Daniela Zingarelli, never lose track of their wide range of products, which are distributed in several million bottles per year. Since 1989 Sergio has been the passionate president of the Rocca delle Macìe winery in Castellina. At that time he had taken over the estate from his father Italo Zingarelli, who had acquired it in 1973, after having finished his career as a film producer, as a farm settlement under the name "Le Macìe". "Macìa" means translated into German as "Steinschlag" (rockfall) - and it is precisely this name that characterizes the soils in the Chianti region very well. Italo restored the estate, planting vines and olive groves. In 1978 he launched his first Chianti, which was immediately well received by wine critics, the trade and the gastronomy.

Italo Zingarelli also acquired the nearby Sant'Alfonso winery, which he transformed into a modern wine cellar with modern oenological equipment. To this day, the winery is always kept up to date. With Lorenzo Landi as the new oenologist, the cellar technical approach was also redefined some years ago.

The total area of the company now covers more than 600 hectares, of which more than a third is used for viticulture and 80 hectares for olive growing. Rocca delle Macìe is also renowned for its honey production. Today, the estate includes four estates in Chianti Classico, Macìe, Sant'Alfonso, Fizzano and Tavolelle, as well as two branches in the Maremma, Campomaccione and Casamaria. SUPERIORE.DE

"The company's philosophy is based on a very prudent pricing policy, where quantity and quality do not get in each other's way, but sometimes get to their absolute top form". Gambero Rosso
