    • "Campo Maccione" Vermentino Maremma Toscana DOC 2018

“Campo Maccione” Vermentino Maremma Toscana DOC 2018

Campo Maccione - a pure Vermentino from the sun-drenched vineyards of the Maremma, where the salty air of the sea is of decisive importance in the maturation of this ancient variety, as confirmed by the special aroma of the wine. Ten percent of the grapes are fermented in barriques and give it a slender stature that is pleasantly acidifying. In the nose lemony notes and aromas of light fruit and on the palate with hearty aftertaste. SUPERIORE.DE

The Chianti Classico from Tenuta Sant' Alfonso is a very demanding wine with a very authentic flavour: red fruits, dried flowers and spices on the nose, followed by a firm, juicy taste. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2016 Chianti Classico Sant'Alfonso is very pretty. Soft, silky and inviting, the 2016 stands out for its polished feel and generous, open-knit personality. All the elements fall into place effortlessly, but what stands out most about the 2016 is its persistence. Floral notes brighten up the finish nicely." Antonio Galloni

"A modern style, driven by cherry and berry fruit, vanilla and milk chocolate flavors. Firm and tightening up, with plenty of grip and leafy elements on the back end." Wine Spectator

"A fresh and fruity wine with blueberries, chocolate and hazelnuts that follow through to a medium-to full-bodied palate with medium tannins and a clean finish. Traditional Chianti Classico Riserva from a very good vintage: ruby red, intense and refined bouquet with fruity aromas and a very soft touch of vanilla and tobacco; persistent taste, well balanced tannins, well defined body. Has good storage potential. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva Famiglia Zingarelli is a forward, juicy wine for the vintage. Sweet dark cherry, leather, tobacco, spice, pine, cedar and dried flowers add aromatic nuance to this fruity, forward Riserva. Dollops of Colorino and Cabernet Sauvignon round out the blend. This is very nicely done." Vinous

      “Roccato” Rosso Toscana IGT 2010

Deep purple. Spicy Cabernet nose of herbs, fine blackberry notes, some chocolate and forest raspberries; a pronounced fruit carries this monumental wine until the long finish, the tannins give a stable framework and give this wonderful Supertuscan a long life. SUPERIORE.DE

"The estate’s top wine, the 2010 Roccato is a 50-50 expression of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon that opens with a dark ruby-garnetcolor and a pretty aromatic display that spans from dried berry andcassis to exotic spice and dried garden herb. This is without a doubt Rocca delle Macie’s most complete and complex wine and the encouraging results of the 2010 vintage are on full display here. The bouquet is especially buoyant and bright. About the winemakers
    Rocca delle Macie
    Tuscany | Chianti
    Rocca delle Macie

Although the company is one of the largest in Chianti Classico, the owners, Sergio and Daniela Zingarelli, never lose sight of their wide range of products, which is spread over several million bottles a year. Since 1989 Sergio has been President of the Rocca delle Macìe Winery in Castellina with passion and commitment. At this time he had taken over the estate from his father Italo Zingarelli who, after finishing his career as a film producer in 1973, still settled it as a farm under the name of "Le Macìe" for the first time. "Macìa" means "rockfall" in German - and it is precisely this name that characterises the soils in the Chianti region very well. Italo restored the estate, planted vines and olive groves. As early as 1978 he launched his first own Chianti on the market, which immediately met with great approval from wine critics, trade and gastronomy.

Italo Zingarelli also acquired the nearby Sant winery’Alfonso, which he developed into a modern wine cellar with modern oenological equipment. To this day, the winery is always kept up to date. With Lorenzo Landi as the new oenologist, the cellar technology approach was also redefined a few years ago.

The total area of the company now covers more than 600 hectares, of which more than one third is used for viticulture and 80 hectares for olive growing. Rocca delle Macìe is also known for its honey production. The property today includes with Macìe, Sant'Alfonso, Fizzano and Tavolelle have four estates in Chianti Classico and two in Maremma, Campomaccione and Casamaria.

The Tuscan wine producer has an excellent distribution network. The "Chianti Classico Rocca delle Macíe 2010" was selected by the magazine "wine world" to "Wine of the year 2012" and thus elected the best Italian red wine. (superiore.de)
