Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Subtle ruby red colour with light reflections. Warm, well-dosed bouquet of wild berries, cherries and some smoke. Fine tannins on the palate, with plenty of juice and fruit at the core, floral and spicy notes, compact. A fine salty vein in the harmonious finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Ruby dark red; peppery notes, arouses curiosity; juicy, sweetness, balanced, length, drinky, pleasing." (JLF) Merum
"Very typical, elegant, with polished tannins and full of fruity charm, sour cherry, some chocolate, sweet fruit melting, round." Weinwisser
"Pleasing nose of black cherries, flanked by plum notes and tobacco; polished attack, finely chiselled acidity, fruity and mineral finish." Vinum
"One of the best-balanced 2020s, Gracciano della Seta's Vino Nobile is discreetly padded with an abundance of dark, fleshy cherry, yet remains straightforward and sculptural. The tannins are slightly steely but yield smoothly, while zesty, citrusy acidity provides graceful support. Nuances of forest, leather and mint interweave with notes of orange that linger." Decanter
"Dried-herb and olive-stone notes to this savory red, mingling with cherries and blood oranges. It’s medium-bodied, juicy and nicely balanced. Fine tannins. Fresh and tasty finish." James Suckling

Chianti Classico DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Our pure enthusiasm for this authentic and wonderfully traditional Chianti Classico, which the likeable Monica Raspi and her family have been presenting to us for years: light ruby red, finely spicy, with refined depth of fruit, well proportioned on the palate, powerful, elegant structure, classic acidity and Sangiovese style, racy and mineral final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Everything is clearly defined, from the engaging cherry fruit, to the earthy spice, to the juicy, meaty mid-palate and a resonating elegance. Animating, compact and long." Weinwisser
"The 2020 Chianti Classico is a potent, heady wine. A blast of dark cherry fruit, game, incense, licorice, tobacco and menthol brings out the wilder side of Sangiovese. The long, building finish is a thing of beauty. This strapping Chianti Classico is a bit rustic, but it is also very pleasing, in its own way." Vinous
"The 2020 is firm and structured rather than rich, it is a distinctly spicy wine. It smells of smoke, sage and tobacco and shows restrained, crisp blackcurrants on the palate. With concentrated acidity and a mineral finish, it will benefit from a few more months in bottle." Decanter

Chianti Classico DOCG 2021 (BIO)
Classic Chianti Classico from stainless steel tanks with a rich and intense bouquet of black cherries, fresh plums, menthol and liquorice. Full-bodied on the palate, but not voluminous, very Sangiovese-typical. Clearly structured, of pure texture and long. SUPERIORE.DE
"The fine fragrance of cherries, violets and cassis enchants; everything seems delicate, floral, fine, fresh and coherent and lingers for a long time. As always, a bank." Weinwisser
"Brancaia's Chianti Classico is made exclusively from Sangiovese, which is refined in a combination of stainless steel and concrete tanks, bringing out the purity of the variety. The 2021 expresses tobacco, forest undergrowth and black pepper against a backdrop of red cherry. It lacks a little concentration in the mid-palate, but finishes with a satisfying bite and a fresh note of thyme. The strong acidity whets the appetite and makes you want some simple spaghetti pomodoro." Decanter
"The 2021 Chianti Classico is wonderful. Fresh, vibrant and wonderfully nuanced, the 2021 offers a classic Sangiovese profile of crushed red berry fruit, cedar, sweet pipe tobacco and spice. The 2021 is medium-bodied and a good choice for years to come." Vinous
"The organic Brancaia 2021 Chianti Classico shows ripe fruit aromas, blackberry jam and even hints of sun-dried tomato. A velvety and soft expression with a full, medium-bodied mouthfeel." Wine Advocate
"Bright, rich ruby. Finely marked nose with notes of fresh cherries and cloves. Round and supple on the palate, showing lovely ripe cherry fruit, fine-meshed tannin and good drinkability." Falstaff
"Subtle red-fruited character with undertones of red liquorice, orange peel and dry earth. Clean and balanced with medium body and chalky tannin structure. Crisp and lively with a flavourful, mineral finish." James Suckling

Chianti Classico DOCG 2021 (BIO)
Medium, bright ruby red colour. The bouquet and flavour are dominated by interesting notes of fresh cut flowers, sweet red berries, liquorice, mint, pine and cedar wood. As the wine progresses, the Chianti Classico reveals a marvellous precision and spiciness, which is enveloped by a well-measured extract sweetness. The overall impression is one of grace and an open-hearted style, which impresses with all its components and not least with its typical Radda Sangiovese freshness. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium red; reductive, appealing; round, balanced, fruit, dense, round tannin, very pleasing." (JLF) Merum
"10% Merlot gives this animating Chianti Classico a rich mouthfeel, it glides velvety over the palate and offers plenty of fruit." Weinwisser
"Intense, radiant ruby red colour. Inviting on the nose, with elegant spice and red cherry fruit, light peach flavour. On the palate with tightly woven tannins, fresh, with clear fruit and subtle spice, beautiful length, drinks very well." Falstaff
"This Annata opens to reveal generous plums and strawberries flecked with black pepper. Sweet red berries fill the mouth while showing the brightness and freshness associated with the heights of Radda. The balanced tannins have a slightly chalky texture that adds a special touch to this delicious red wine." Decanter
"The 2021 Chianti Classico is an absolute delight. Fragrant, silky and super-expressive, the 2021 captures all the finesse of Radda. Crushed red berry fruit, rose petals, orange peel and mint are beautifully brought out in this vibrant, medium-bodied Chianti Classico that has so much to offer. It's a beautiful performance." Vinous
"A racy version with flavours of black cherries, blueberries, violets and iron. It has firm tannins that harmonise with the acidity, while a hint of Mediterranean scrub shines through. Mouthwatering finish." Wine Spectator
"Balanced blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, notes of redcurrants, undergrowth and liquorice on the nose, wild mint on the finish. Juicy attack, dense and crisp, salty-sour tannins, very long finish. Closes with a return of small red fruits." Luca Gardini

Chianti Classico DOCG 2021 (BIO)
Lively ruby with light violet reflections, rich fruity aromas on the nose, very typical of wild berries and sour cherries. Fresh, balanced and well-structured on the palate, with silky tannins and spicy accents. An energetic classic of the appellation. SUPERIORE.DE
"A classic and as if from a single mould; cherries, blackberries, the juicy vein and charm please, the fine tannin and acid bite enliven." Weinwisser
"Barely medium ruby red. Dense and rather closed in the nose and a little reductive. Great intensity and purity of fruit, with lots of tangy acidity and fine tannin. Impressive." Jancis Robinson
"A powerful and tasty Chianti Classico with aromas of red plums, herbs, mushrooms and some citrus peel. Medium bodied with plenty of bite from the chewy tannins. Made from organically grown grapes." James Suckling
"The 2021 Chianti Classico is a model of excellence. Pure, bright and wonderfully vibrant, the 2021 possesses superb energy and exceptional balance. Crushed red/purplish fruit, rose petal, sweet spice and orange zest bristle with tension. This is a rare Chianti Classico I would cellar for a year or two. Superb." Vinous
"Since the high temperatures in mid-August stopped the ripening of the Sangiovese, he harvested about a week later than usual, Marco Ricasoli reports. He also introduced a sorting table to remove dried or green berries as well as stem pieces. The result is a flawless and refined annata. It has a deep purple colour and an equally youthful bouquet with aromas of wild berries, black plums and a hint of wood spice. In the mouth, it is full of spicy dark red cherries supported by lively acidity and framed by suede-textured tannins. Winter mint and liquorice root linger on the finish. With its admirable complexity, it surpasses its category." Decanter

“Sereno” Bianco Venezia Giulia IGT 2021
Antonio Bragato, born in Germany but with an absolute Friulian identity, joined forces 20 years ago with Gianni Maccari, who was cellar master at Livio Felluga for many years and founded his own winery Ronco della Rocca at the beginning of the millennium. Maccari, who has a degree in agronomy and Oenologist, is considered one of the best-trained viticultural experts in Friuli. The profound knowledge of his own 12 hectares of vineyards as well as the leased plots and the radical precision in the execution of every operation characterise the clear style and the reliable quality of the wines that Antonio Bragato creates there together with him.
From the 2019 vintage, Bragato's wine experiment enters a new era. Since then, the team has relied on an even more rigorous selection of the oldest vines from the coolest and best sites. The results of the "New Edition" can truly be seen and tasted. They are even more radical in complexity and finesse. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers the smallest editions of these wines, which confirm the many years of work and experience of the two quality fanatics!
In 2021, there was a truly exceptional harvest in Friuli. All the elements - acidity, low PH values, opulent extracts, juiciness, richness of aromas - are impressively present in the white wines. At the same time, the wines appear cool, racy and elegant despite their richness. Antonio Bragato's Sereno 2021, a white cuvée that he has brought to life impressively and even more precisely than ever before after a six-year break, is just as complex and full of tension. On the inviting bouquet, fresh, captivating aromas of pineapple, stone fruits, white flowers, bread crust and white currants. Juicy and very punchy in the drink, with a race and creaminess that is irresistible. The 7-month ageing on the fine lees provides complexity and depth that is exceptional for an "entry wine" into the great world of Bragato wines. SUPERIORE.DE
"Comes from 25-year-old vines. An all-rounder to start with, modelled on the Terlaner Cuvée. Unripe pineapple, one immediately senses the Sauvignon Blanc share, the Friulano rounds off the wine towards the back. Pleasing without being interchangeable." Weinwisser
"Ripe yet delicate pineapple aromas with notes of white flowers and candied lemon. Ripe and juicy, but also gentle and discreetly structured. The lively interplay of mineral freshness and animating acidity makes it hard not to like." James Suckling
"Fragrant, pineapple and mango, passion fruit and elderflower. In the mouth, the wine combines pressure and juiciness, the lively acidity and tactile-mineral motifs give it momentum and tension, the intensity of the (overall still closed) palate structure remains at a high level for quite a long time. May develop into great elegance." Falstaff

“Berardenga” Chianti Classico DOCG 2021
Sangiovese in pure culture: Bright ruby with a broad garnet rim. Rich in fruity-floral aromas, multi-layered, herbaceous, deep and of good polish with further development potential. A full-bodied and harmonious Chianti-Classico of highly authentic and very inviting style. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant ruby red. Deep cherry with dark spice notes. Concentrated, supple and with plenty of richness. Impressive structure with powdery tannins that have yet to settle." Jancis Robinson
"Animating church, cassis and herbs, shows its pithy side with bite, salty vein and tart charm, is robust and lingers long. The classic from the south of the growing region." Weinwisser
"The Fèlsina 2021 Chianti Classico Berardenga has a spicy or crisp side that I often find in Sangiovese. There is a lot of fruit brightness here with cassis, red cherries, minerals, dried tobacco and grilled rosemary. This is an easy-drinking Tuscan red with a natural acidity and brightness that goes well with a classic lasagne or aubergine parmigiana." Wine Advocate
"The 2021 starts with smoky nuances, earth and subtle oak, then moves into fragrant mint and thyme. It is concentrated and ripe, but balanced by freshness and liveliness. The underlying firmness gradually dissipates to reveal a spicy dried tomato finish." Decanter
"The Chianti Classico Berardenga 2021 is boisterous and expressive right out of the glass. Dark fruits, earthy notes, leather, spices and tobacco convey tons of Castelnuovo Berardenga character. The wine gets better and better in the glass. It is a super-classic example of the house style and a wine to buy by the case. The Berardenga bottling can be a little wild, but in 2021 it has an added touch of sophistication that is undeniable." Vinous
"Sparkling ruby red with a slightly brightening rim. In the nose of fresh raspberries, strawberries, then a touch of forest floor and sour cherry. Fresh and juicy on the palate, with well-integrated tannins, long and fruit-driven final." Falstaff
"A firm and silky red wine with aromas and flavours of cherries, dried flowers and orange peel. It is medium-bodied with fine tannins and a fresh and concentrated finish. It still needs some time to mellow, but I already enjoy its energy." James Suckling

"Medium crimson. Lightened, fresh cherry and raspberry fruit with spicy, savoury notes in the background. Cool raspberry fruit on the palate with plenty of fresh acidity and fine tannins that stick to the palate. Very long and precise." Jancis Robinson
"Shows its harmonious side again, on the one hand charming, with juicy fruit and creamy, then also with fine acidity and depth." Weinwisser
"The Chianti Classico 2021 is a very beautiful, elegant wine. Sweet floral notes open the wine, followed by ripe red cherries, blood oranges, mint and rose petals. This medium-bodied, noble Chianti Classico is a winner." Vinous
"It smells of raspberries, potting soil, roses and cherry blossom. The palate is medium-bodied and transparent, with flavours of redcurrants and orange peel. The light tannins are powdery in texture and the racy acidity electrifies with nervous energy." Decanter
"Dark ruby red with brightening edges. Medium intensity nose of juniper, sweet cherry, plus some pomegranate. Very fresh on the palate, with fine fruit melting, and grippy tannin, pulls through well to the juicy finish." Falstaff

"Seductive maraschino nose, underlaid with refined notes of undergrowth; smooth in the mouth, with well-integrated lively acidity, long." Vinum

"Ripe, bright red berries with fine spices and a hint of crushed stone minerality. Medium to full-bodied on the palate with fine herbs, citrus and berries, all wrapped in fine, crumbly tannins. Already delicious." James Suckling
"The 2020 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is dark and rich in the glass. Camphor and pine hints lift a burst of cherry and plum sauce. This is silky-smooth and elegant, with cooling minerality and crisp red fruits that cascade throughout. It finishes long and staining with a spicy twang and gently grippy tannins, punctuating the experience well. Poliziano has captured the ripeness of the vintage in a beautifully balanced manner. This is terrific." Vinous

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2020
Brilliant ruby red colour with a slightly brightening rim. Impressive aroma of red berries, smoke, roasted almonds and dark spices. Taut, straightforward, expressive and beautifully long on the palate. With its classic understatement, Boscarelli's Nobile di Montepulciano is a wonderfully precise example of its growing region every year. SUPERIORE.DE
"Becomes fine with a little air and already shows depth and finesse as well as a transparent architecture in the fragrance, then is powerful, fleshy and with full-bodied tannins, juicy on the finish." Weinwisser
"Intriguing aromas of black cherries, finely coated with notes of pepper and leather; powerful on the palate, the tightly woven tannins and ripe acidity well integrated, fruity and spicy finish." Vinum
"The 2020 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano opens slowly in the glass as coaxing releases a bouquet of dusty rose and woodland berries lifted by a split pine note. It's fresh and vibrant for a young Boscarelli, cascading across the palate with masses of mineral-tinged red berries and savory spice. This finishes remarkably long yet with a bump of residual acidity that nicely offsets its dusty tannins. The 2020 is surprisingly approachable yet also balanced for a steady evolution." Vinous
"The initial notes of vanilla and cocoa are complemented by tobacco, heather and plum. On the palate, the lush, supple fruit balances the robust structure and inner firmness of the tannins. It is extended by wild black and redcurrants, and a savoury note adds an interesting touch. Satisfying and complex." Decanter
"Nuanced minerality that chisels ripe red berries, blood orange peel, savoury plums and cherries. Medium to full-bodied on the palate with a bone-dry, transparent mid-palate and a firm, mineral tannin layer. Fruity, but also concise and precise. Already a pleasure to taste and drink." James Suckling
"A beautiful classic Nobile, a prime example of the appellation. Notes of black cherry on the nose, then floral notes, iris and a hint of eucalyptus. Tension and salty tannins on the palate, a fruity-floral return and a balsamic finish." Luca Gardini

“Passi di Orma” Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2021
Strong ruby red. Clearly defined bouquet with beautiful herbal spice. In the glass, a deep dark fruit and a very round body, fine acidity and polished tannins. A classic representative of the noble Bolgheri appellation with an exceptionally harmonious overall impression. Be sure to aerate. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Passi di Orma is the entry-level wine at Orma from Bolgheri. The 21 has a dull, light-toned aroma of chocolatey fruit and berry accents with incense, rosemary and bay leaves. Sweet, fleshy, round and somewhat hearty it then appears in the mouth. Broad, full-bodied, with a rich mid-palate but little finesse or character, lingering somewhat reductive and framed by good wood." Weinwisser
"Rich ruby red with a slightly brightening rim. Spicy on the nose of black pepper and fruity of rich sour cherry, then slightly leathery with a touch of chocolate and coffee grounds. Lots of ripe cherry on the palate, well balanced, with fine-grained tannin and a long final." Falstaff

Chianti Classico DOCG 2021 (BIO)
Multi-layered aroma, lots of dark cherry fruit, delicate herbal spice and cedar aromas. Also on the palate juicy dark wild cherries, ripe, perfectly integrated tannin, elegant and delicate, fine mineral spiciness, yet amazingly full-bodied and animating. A representative of the appellation that hits the right notes, as if from a picture book! SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant crimson. Sublime, perfumed nose of raspberry, cherry and cranberry. Juicy and almost a little racy on the attack, then concentrated and long with a firm tannic frame. Beautiful." Jancis Robinson
"Spicy, powerful, rich and fleshy, besides the fruit also delicately smoky, earthy and with sturdy tannin. A classic." Weinwisser
"The 2021 Chianti Classico is magnificent. Bright and explosive, the 2021 has remarkable energy and tension to play up its natural richness. In most vintages, the San Giusto Chianti Classico is quite open. This is not the case at all with the 2021, where lively acids and tannins dominate. harvestshould plan to drink the 2021 for a few years. Sweet exotic floral notes lift the finish." Vinous
"Dark cherry, raspberry, violet and mineral aromas and flavors permeate this supple red, which is fresh, delineated and intense, with fine harmony and a lingering aftertaste emphasizing the fruit." Wine Spectator
"The organic Chianti Classico 2021, from a balanced vintage that delivers acidity and structure, displays a brilliant dark garnet colour and a clean, medium-bodied appearance. The bouquet is full of energy and liveliness, a quality that Sangiovese achieves under ideal growing conditions. Spicy cherry, cassis, blue flowers, violets and soft earth give this wine an authentic sense of place. The same goes for the elegant mineral notes. This is a special wine." Wine Advocate

"The 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva will need a few more years to fully develop, as the tannins are not yet fully integrated. Bright red cherry fruit, mint, spices, white pepper, incense and tobacco add great luminosity to a nervy, tense Riserva that will have much to say later." Vinous
"Castellare produces two Riservas: 'Il Poggiale' is a single plot bottling, while 'Castellare di Castellina' is selected from several plots between 350 and 400 metres. Produced since 1979, this wine has subtle floral scents that mingle with vanilla, tobacco and leather. On the palate it is very rich, yet lively: dark wild berries are framed by supple, layered tannins. Satisfying to the end, with a lingering finish of fennel and spice." Decanter
One of the impeccable proofs in the Chianti Classico "zone" of Castellare, in this case Riserva variety. Cherry and violet on the nose, then notes of thyme and iodine-like hints at the end. The mouthfeel is spicy, compact and of excellent crispness, with savoury tannins and a long finish with a fruity aftertaste." Luca Gardini

"Cherries, wet stones, graphite and balsamic vinegar on the nose with hints of earth and wild herbs lead to a palate that is rather stony and cherry red, finishing with a fresh, herbal burst of mint and fennel." Wine Enthusiast
"The Chianti Classico Riserva 2020 shows notes of preserved dark cherries, mocha, liquorice, cinnamon and new leather. On the palate, the 2020 is deep and rich, with great depth that shows beautifully today. It's a rich, heady Riserva to savour now and for years to come." Wine Enthusiast
"The Chianti Classico Riserva 2020 is a soft and supple wine with plenty of dark fruit, cherry and toasted spice, reflecting a warm growing season. All of these organic Brancaia wines are impeccably blended and show no hard edges thanks to careful fruit ripening and oak ageing. This Riserva has sweet tannins and a medium-weight finish." Wine Advocate
"This wine has a darker character with roasted spices and walnuts and offers ripe dark cherries and redcurrants. Medium to full-bodied and firm with linear tannins and even acidity. Focused and structured with a long, straight finish. A little chewy at the end." James Suckling
"A beautiful red wine with aromas and flavours of cherries, strawberries, roses, minerals and wild herbs. It treads a fine line between elegance and power, with a firm structure and lively acidity ensuring that it is concentrated and long." Wine Spectator

Barbaresco Serraboella DOCG 2019
Medium-bodied ruby red, fine rose bouquet with hints of tea and dried herbs. Beautiful black cherry aroma with well-integrated wood notes makes it a balanced and at no point intrusive wine. The 2019 climate also gave this Nebbiolo an impressive precision and straightness. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium red, spicy, some fruit, appealing; fluid, juicy, good depth, caramel, length, pleasant astringency, pleases." Merum
"Wonderful representative that combines power and finesse, in addition has good inner tension and density and works harmoniously from A-Z, shows classic fruit notes, stays long and gives a lot of pleasure and enjoyment." Weinwisser
"Just mid ruby. Impressive, deep red-fruit nose with savoury spice touches. Full fruit on the palate kept in check by lots of hefty tannins. There is an abundance of everything, but the whole remains elegant and well balanced. Pure raspberry fruit finish." Jancis Robinson
"Lovely concentration of red fruit with some currants and strawberries. Very fruity for the vintage. Full-bodied with round, polished tannins and a chewy finish. It’s a very typical Barbaresco, with solid concentration for the vintage." James Suckling
"Packaged in its distinctive black label, the Fontanabianca 2019 Barbaresco Serraboella is a subdued, graceful and incredibly silky wine that falls softly over the palate and caresses the senses. There is a lot of beauty here with red fruit aromas, powdered licorice, raspberry tart and plenty of blue flower or lilac. I love the fine texture of the mouthfeel." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of new leather, menthol, licorice and dark-skinned berry shape the nose on this perfumed red. Juicy and savory, the radiant palate delivers succulent black cherry, crushed raspberry, star anise and cinnamon set against a backbone of firm, fine-grained tannins. It's vibrant, balanced and youthfully tense, with nervous acidity." Wine Enthusiast

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Querciabella's Riserva, with an annual production of 10,000 bottles, is a selection of the best lots. It blends fruit from Greve, where the vineyards lie between 350 and 550 metres above sea level, with grapes from the stony high altitudes of Radda and the chalky soils of Gaiole. The 2019 vintage is restrained but very precise. Tantalising aromas of spring flowers, cranberries and potting soil are accompanied by vanilla and smoke. On the palate, it is polished and pure, with a delicious, tangy acidity and sinewy tannins. As every year, one of the most refined wines of the appellation. SUPERIORE.DE
"Here, too, with the typical house style that emphasises the charm, in addition to the aromas of cherry, rowan berries and rosehip, animating, velvety and round on the palate." Weinwisser
"Bright ruby red colour. Nose of pomegranate, fresh strawberries, some blood orange, thyme, stony hints. Great freshness on the palate, lovely acidity, clear, red berry fruit, savoury, vibrates over the tongue, drinky." Falstaff
"Deep, shiny ruby red colour. Captivating, deep sour cherry and raspberry nose that is still quite youthful. Beautiful intensity of fruit and with a hint of oak. Pleasant, tangy, deep raspberry fruit with marvellous, chewy tannins that cling to the fruit. Designed for the long term. Amazing balance between gripping, ripe tannins and deep, tangy fruit." Jancis Robinson
"The Chianti Classico Riserva 2019 is a great wine that comes from vineyards in Greve, Radda and Gaiole. Dark and powerful in the glass, the 2019 offers dark fruit, spice, leather, savoury herbs, tobacco and earthy notes. I would give it a few years to mature." Vinous
"The Organic Querciabella 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva Querciabella displays rich, concentrated fruit with blackberries and cherries overlaid with light spice and minerality. This wine represents a selection of fruit from Greve, Radda and Gaiole in Chianti, and each parcel is vinified separately before the final blend is made." Wine Advocate
"At first, coffee and mocha permeate the dark red cherry, while hints of rosemary and sage emerge with a little coaxing. The palate is confident yet agile, with beautiful, pure black raspberry fruit ringing out. Pleasant tannins expand leisurely, and the fine-grained framework will provide balanced support over the next 10 years." Decanter
"Smooth and intense, this red wine is saturated with aromas and flavours of black cherries, blackberries, flowers, wild herbs and minerals. On the long finish, the solid structure is well covered by flesh. It offers fine harmony and expression." Wine Spectator
"A fragrant and lively red wine with aromas of sour cherries, lemons, cloves, crushed pepper and dried flowers on the nose. Medium-bodied with silky tannins and bright acidity. Juicy and delicious with lots of energy." James Suckling

Castellares Chianti Classico with refined aromas reminiscent of juicy sweet cherries, flowers and spices such as mint. Silky and polished on the palate, the final long and creamy. A radiant, seductive wine. SUPERIORE.DE
"All around successful! With charming fruit, finesse and depth, also compactly built, punchy, with fleshy tannin and length." Weinwisser
"Radiant, bright ruby red. A little restrained on the nose, initially showing slightly stony-earthy tones, then cranberries. On the palate with a juicy, pithy entry, polished and compact, earthy on the final." Falstaff

Chianti Classico DOCG 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM

“Piastraia” Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2020
Piastraia fully corresponds to the classic image of a great Bolgheri Rosso Superiore. Made from a quarter each of Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, it fills the glass with its intense scent of fruit and a hint of leather aromas. The taste is strong, concentrated and pure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very typical Bolgheri scent with ripe red and blue fruits and the spicy terroir note. Juicy, with grippy tannin, polished, finely contoured, builds powerfully on the palate with lovely freshness, well infused with fine-grained acidity, clasped by firm tannin. Potential." Weinwisser
"Powerfully shining ruby with a slight violet shimmer. Open and very accessible nose, lots of ripe berry notes, of cassis and blackberries, plus some dark tobacco, underpinned by spicy components. On the palate very full-bodied, grippy, hearty tannin, dark fruit, has very good potential, lots of pressure." Falstaff
"Intriguing aromatics of red berries and flowers, also herbal and spicy notes; punchy construction, powerful yet fine-grained tannins, spot-on evolution, long seductive chocolate berry finish." Vinum

“Montebuoni” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2019
Normally, the Sangiovese grapes from the 14 hectare single vineyard come mainly to the Ama and San Lorenzo. Since the 2018 harvest, Lorenza and Marco have decided to vinify a small quantity separately - and here comes the second vintage of the rare Riserva.
Deep dark ruby red with violet reflections. Extroverted bouquet of brunberry, raspberry and redcurrant, plus notes of crushed gravel, tobacco and traces of young leather. Very powerful and beautifully textured on the palate, the various layers of primary fruit only gradually fanning out, the wood pleasantly receding into the background. Finely granulated tannin and a well-integrated acidity flank the very harmonious red into an elegant, long final. There is a lot to like here, for us it is once again a typical Ama wine: racy, powerful and elegant! SUPERIORE.DE
"Seems young and impetuous, with more spice than fruit and more power than finesse, juicy towards the finish and with lively acidity." Weinwisser
"Exciting attack with a multi-faceted potpourri of scents; polished on the palate with well-integrated buxom tannins and accentuated acidity, seductive, pleasantly peppery final." Vinum
"Bright ruby with fine violet shimmer. Intense and clear nose with rich notes of fresh cherries, some pomegranate, fine green-spicy notes in the background. Juicy fruit in the attack and course, grippy tannin, well integrated." Falstaff
"Brilliant crimson. A finely perfumed, concentrated nose of red fruits with a flattering hint of oak. Elegant, juicy cherry fruit with soft, grippy tannins. Closes and needs more time to fully develop." Jancis Robinson
"The second vintage of this Riserva from a single vineyard, Montebuoni, comes from vines at least 20 years old. It is a logical evolution of Ama's Annata, which is made from younger vines. As with the Annata, ageing takes place in second choice French oak barriques. A sweet herbal blend of fennel and tarragon mingles with strawberries and rhubarb. A hint of vanilla permeates it. Soft and polished, it glides across the palate. The lightly powdered tannins are very delicate and well integrated. Refreshing and joyful, with a hint of cranberry." Decanter
"The 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva Montebuoni is a dark, sensual wine. Black cherry, plum, spice, liquorice and dried herbs take shape in a virile, layered Riserva that is a great bridge to the Gran Seleziones in the range. I would give it a few years in the bottle." Vinous
"The Castello di Ama 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva Montebuoni draws its fruit from a vineyard about a kilometre further on, parallel to the Vigneto Bellavista and with similar exposures. This is the reason for the Riserva Montebuoni. This 15-hectare site was acquired by Marco Pallanti in 1997, and a lot of work went into moving the earth and preparing the poor, clayey soil for planting. The result is wonderfully concentrated fruit with medium to full body and lingering smoke, blackberries and sweet tobacco." Wine Advocate
"Very subtle aromas of dark berries, liquorice and violets. Really floral and bright. Medium bodied with very fine tannins that integrate beautifully with the wine. It has such a beautiful and refined mouthfeel." James Suckling
"One of the most successful Reserves on the market, a concentrate of freshness. Olfaction that attacks with notes of red plum, then hints of rosehips and touches of pink pepper, the palate is crisp, brackish, with floral-fruity return and beautiful juiciness." Luca Gardini

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2017
Ciacci's Brunello di Montalcino 2017 is a very fine and elegant wine. It offers a very pleasing sense of balance, with no one characteristic overpowering the other. The dark ruby red gives the wine an open and inviting personality. On the nose, a subtle mix of aromas of wild berries, blueberries, undergrowth and toasted almonds. The mouthfeel is lean, but also polished and silky persistent. Can mature, but is also a pleasure when young. SUPERIORE.DE
"Enticing nose with notes of stone fruit and caramel, also herbs; juicy in the mouth, the tannins spot-on, the acidity vif, the supple final well balanced. Convinces with power and freshness." Vinum
"Delightfully subtle bouquet with wild berries, tobacco, plum, blackberry and blood orange peel. A typical 2017 of the very successful kind. Seductive, stylish yet with depth, fine balsamic spice and mineral notes, plus sweet tobacco with smoky nuances; the supple richness is enormously juicy and on the spicy final it scores with its subtle and refined style." Weinwisser
"Bright ruby red. In the nose of blood oranges, rose hips, mint, also eucalyptus, in the aftertaste fine Mediterranean herbs. The palate is polished and elegant, with the finest melting, high drinking fluency with pithy tannins, very well done." Falstaff
"Aromas of cedar, berry, mushroom and burnt orange follow through to a full body with medium, chewy tannins and a fluid, flavorful finish. Not overdone. Drink after 2023." James Suckling
"Generous, layered and rich, the Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona 2017 Brunello di Montalcino shows the generous fruit and deep layering that identifies this vintage. This edition shows a bright note of sweet cherry that features strongly both on the bouquet and the palate. The wine shows lots of soft fruit with almond, spice and wild rose. From a hot and dry vintage, this Brunello is probably best suited to a near or medium-term drinking window." Wine Advocate
"Rich and lively, exuding cherry, plum and blackberry fruit, with accents of earth and underbrush. Harmonious and accessible now, with fine length and a lingering, mineral-tinged finish." Wine Spectator
"Even in troubled vintages highlights the great craftsmanship of home. Nice fruit tension to the nose, blackcurrant, salty touches of caper, then laurel and nutmeg. The mouthfeel has density and tension, sapid tannins and a fruity finish." Luca Gardini
"This delicious, bold red offers inviting aromas of fragrant blue flowers, spiced plum, forest floor and pipe tobacco. Full and enveloping in feel, it delivers a great depth of juicy black cherry, black raspberry, licorice and baking spice flavors framed in velvety tannins." Wine Enthusiast

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2017
The Brunello di Montalcino 2017 also lives up to the impeccable reputation that the winery has earned over the years. We experience here a profound and beautifully made Sangiovese that presents a powerful and lush fruit of black cherry and spicy plum at the beginning. On the nose, mild oak notes, smoke, tar and roasted nuts. As it progresses, gravel, dried herbs and some mint. This Brunello shows an elegant development in the glass and promises a very long ageing period. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark red; reductive fruit, barrel-aged; powerful, fruity, present good tannin, length." Merum
""Floral-fruity bouquet with notes of stone fruit and caramel, also herbs; juicy in the mouth, the tannins finely tart, the final skilfully balanced. Convinces with power and solid fruit." Vinum
"Regularly somewhat "bacony" in the savoury aroma with fine cedar, bacon notes and spices marked by wood ageing, behind wild berries, cassis and raspberries. Rich, pithy, dense palate, with a coarse-meshed tannin network that doesn't quite match last year's in quality. Substantial final." Weinwisser
"Bright ruby red. In the nose slightly bacony hints, then ripe raspberries and cherries, shows nuances of light malt, leather. On the palate pithy and with delicately wide-meshed tannin, savoury fruit in the attack and course, still needs to find itself." Falstaff
"Lustrous deep ruby. Firm, deep cherry fruit on the nose and with an undertow of savoury spice. Lots of perfumed sour-cherry fruit on the palate and with bags of firm, but polished tannins on the finish. A bit austere right now, but with great length as well as potential." Jancis Robinson
"Masses of ashen earth, smoke, dusty cherry and roses with nuances of clove lift up from the 2017 Brunello di Montalcino. This is silky and pliant upon entry, presenting a rich display of intense red and hints of black fruits laced with chalky minerals that drenches the palate. Penetrating acidity and grippy tannins create a burst of cheek-puckering tension, clenching down hard with youthful poise, as notes of licorice and hard red candies linger through the structured, medium-length finale. That said, it needs time to unwind from its youthful state. Production was down 15–20% at Il Poggione in 2017 due to severe selection of bunches, and all of the fruit that would have been reserved for the Riserva Vigna Paganelli was added to the Brunello instead." Vinous
"Sweet, ripe cherry, blackberry and plum fruit flavors are framed by mineral, tobacco and thyme accents in this vibrant, balanced red. Make no mistake, there are ample tannins too, yet this still finds a nice equilibrium on the lingering finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2017 Brunello di Montalcino opens to a saturated and shiny dark ruby color. This edition is loaded with black and purple fruits, such as blackberry preserves and plum. Those more robust tones are followed by spice, tar and campfire ash. The tannins are young (but not stemmy or bitter), and you'd be best served by letting this wine age and relax with more cellar aging. Il Poggione always makes some of the smoothest and most texturally enriched wines in the appellation, and this vintage is no exception." Wine Advocate
"Underbrush, camphor and new leather aromas get together with grilled herbs. Full-bodied and structured, it also shows restraint, featuring dried black cherry, licorice and tobacco alongside firm, fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"Also in the 2017 vintage one of the most multifaceted and interesting references, from an historical firm. Nose of black currant, touches of fresh thyme and licorice, closing on notes of white pepper. The mouthfeel hassapid tannins and a finish with the return of small black fruits." Luca Gardini

“Vigna Sessina” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Dievoles Gran Selezione Vigna Sessina is dark, deep and with wonderfully powerful cherry and blackberry flavours. Very defined and precise on the palate with an archetypal interpretation of the grape variety. Everything is in the right place here, the balance and clarity impresses with every sip. The finish has terrificlength and depth. This is Sangiovese in its purest form with infinite energy and expression. SUPERIORE.DE
"Seems a little cheesy with its "sugary" fruit and sweetness, but can please with the juicy vein and the robust tannin as well as the fine acidity and lets the wood resonate skilfully in the background." Weinwisser
"From a vineyard 420 metres above sea level: profound bouquet of red berries, lilacs and herbs; juicy on the palate, beautifully polished, supple tannins and crisp acidity, fruity and spicy finish. Successful." Vinum
"Medium ruby red with first orange-coloured reflections. A little dusty, probably from the oak, with shy, fragrant raspberry fruit underneath. With aeration, the nose becomes finer and more concentrated, with a hint of iron. The palate is elegant and delicate, with plenty of freshness." Jancis Robinson
"Sessina is a 5.5-hectare, south-facing vineyard on Macigno (sandstone soil), but with a limestone vein running through it. It shines in the fresh 2019 vintage - it is the best bottling of this wine that I have tasted. It has a lively aroma of mint, sage and a hint of chocolate. The dark plum core is ripe yet crisp, with tannins that are gently textured and grip in all the right places. Refined and elegant, but not without depth, it offers a tantalising interplay of warm Mediterranean balsamic notes with cooler forest tones. Delicious." Decanter
"Polished and pretty nose of dried flowers, cloves, mocha, dried cherries and chocolate orange. It is medium-bodied with firm tannins. Beautiful freshness and balance, with a long and elegant finish." James Suckling
"The organic Dievole 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna di Sessina is a true beauty, offering elegance and power in two ways in this vintage. There are plenty of black fruit flavours that delicately fade into crushed stone, spices and grilled herbs. The winery opts for fermentation in cement and rapid ageing in oak for about a year. These steps ensure intact primary aromas and the wine is characterised by energy and lively flavours." Wine Advocate

The WEINWISSER was founded in 1992 by Swiss wine pundit René Gabriel and food critic Wolfram Meister as the Swiss counterpart to Parker's Wine Advocate. Like the Wine-Advocate, the "independent newsletter for everyone who wants to know more about wine" consisted only of individual A4 sheets stapled together. Since the well-known wine critic Giuseppe Lauria (formerly part of the chief taster team at Gault Millau) took over as editor-in-chief, the layout has been significantly modernised, while Lauria has also advanced the magazine's profile in terms of content and sharpened it to focus on fine wines from all over the world with well-founded and comprehensible assessments.
WEINWISSER is one of the leading German-language wine and tasting magazines for wine professionals and ambitious wine lovers. For more than 25 years, WEINWISSER has stood for independent and competent wine criticism. WEINWISSER's team of 12 expert authors, led by editor-in-chief and wine critic Giuseppe Lauria, systematically tastes, describes and evaluates more than 4,000 high-quality top wines from all over the world every year, providing a unique purchasing and orientation aid for wine professionals, passionate and discerning wine lovers.
WEINWISSER informs about current wine trends, presents the best and most exciting wines and wineries of the world as well as interesting newcomers and wine personalities. New sections you will find in this magazine are: "Wine Personality of the Month", "Wine of the Month" as well as "Pearls of the Month", in which international top decision-makers, top wines and top sparkling wines are regularly portrayed exclusively and in detail.
Since 2008, WEINWISSER has belonged to the German publishing house Konradin Selection. Since then, well-known German-speaking wine journalists have been alternately evaluating international top wines and providing well-founded tasting notes. The WEINWISSER rates wines according to the 20-point system. SUPERIORE.DE
