“Somereto” Chardonnay Alto Adige DOC 2023
The straw-yellow Somereto has a fruity, intense aroma of ripe banana and other tropical fruits. On the palate, it has a smooth texture, rich and persistent, with pleasant acidity. A modern cosmopolitan with an exotic touch, beautiful freshness, straightforwardness and strength. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Somereto is still somewhat restrained with a fine bouquet; with air, notes of apricot, quince and orange are expressed. On the palate, it has a dense but elegant melting texture that shows a sensitive bâtonnage, supported by the juicy freshness and still has rough edges." Weinwisser

Pinot Grigio Alto Adige DOC 2023
Light golden yellow in colour. Fine, restrained nose of delicate white flowers and yellow-fruity nuances. Juicy and clear on the palate, round texture with harmonious play, medium length and very fresh and full of character with its delicate citrus note. SUPERIORE.DE
"To say it up front: This is one of the most linear and crystalline Pinot Gris that I have tasted here so far. Mineral and herbal bouquet, cool and taut rather than pleasing, delicate pear and herbal notes. In the mouth, it scores with crystalline juiciness, a fine melt and the typical spiciness with chalky hints. Certainly one of the best Pinot Gris in South Tyrol." Weinwisser

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Subtle ruby red colour with light reflections. Warm, well-dosed bouquet of wild berries, cherries and some smoke. Fine tannins on the palate, with plenty of juice and fruit at the core, floral and spicy notes, compact. A fine salty vein in the harmonious finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Ruby dark red; peppery notes, arouses curiosity; juicy, sweetness, balanced, length, drinky, pleasing." (JLF) Merum
"Very typical, elegant, with polished tannins and full of fruity charm, sour cherry, some chocolate, sweet fruit melting, round." Weinwisser
"Pleasing nose of black cherries, flanked by plum notes and tobacco; polished attack, finely chiselled acidity, fruity and mineral finish." Vinum
"Medium ruby red colour with a slightly brightening rim. Leather, ripe cherry and some undergrowth on the nose, then slightly spicy and balsamic. Grippy on the palate, with gripping, somewhat rustic tannins, then beautifully juicy on the finish. To savoury Tuscan dishes." Falstaff
"One of the best-balanced 2020s, Gracciano della Seta's Vino Nobile is discreetly padded with an abundance of dark, fleshy cherry, yet remains straightforward and sculptural. The tannins are slightly steely but yield smoothly, while zesty, citrusy acidity provides graceful support. Nuances of forest, leather and mint interweave with notes of orange that linger." Decanter
"This spicy red wine contains notes of dried herbs and olive pits, which mingle with cherries and blood oranges. It is medium-bodied, juicy and beautifully balanced. Fine tannins. Fresh and flavoursome finish." James Suckling

“Floreado” Sauvignon Bianco Alto Adige DOC 2023
Extremely delicate Sauvignon Blanc: fruity, wild bouquet with nuances of elderflower, gooseberry and tropical fruit. It is silky smooth and structured, with a balanced inner sweetness and minerality that caresses the palate with citrus fruit and a hint of nectarine. Just the right dose of fine acidity, very crisp and long on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE

Chianti Classico DOCG 2021 (BIO)
Medium, bright ruby red colour. The bouquet and flavour are dominated by interesting notes of fresh cut flowers, sweet red berries, liquorice, mint, pine and cedar wood. As the wine progresses, the Chianti Classico reveals a marvellous precision and spiciness, which is enveloped by a well-measured extract sweetness. The overall impression is one of grace and an open-hearted style, which impresses with all its components and not least with its typical Radda Sangiovese freshness. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium red; reductive, appealing; round, balanced, fruit, dense, round tannin, very pleasing." (JLF) Merum
"10% Merlot gives this animating Chianti Classico a rich mouthfeel, it glides velvety over the palate and offers plenty of fruit." Weinwisser
"Intense, radiant ruby red colour. Inviting on the nose, with elegant spice and red cherry fruit, light peach flavour. On the palate with tightly woven tannins, fresh, with clear fruit and subtle spice, beautiful length, drinks very well." Falstaff
"On the nose, dark chocolate links sweet cherry and vanilla to savory tomato leaf and earth. The streaks of cherry, chocolate and vanilla continue on the palate, with strawberries highlighting their sweetness, but well-timed tannins and acid boost the enduring, vegetal tomato note to maintain balance." Wine Enthusiast
"This Annata opens to reveal generous plums and strawberries flecked with black pepper. Sweet red berries fill the mouth while showing the brightness and freshness associated with the heights of Radda. The balanced tannins have a slightly chalky texture that adds a special touch to this delicious red wine." Decanter
"The 2021 Chianti Classico is an absolute delight. Fragrant, silky and super-expressive, the 2021 captures all the finesse of Radda. Crushed red berry fruit, rose petals, orange peel and mint are beautifully brought out in this vibrant, medium-bodied Chianti Classico that has so much to offer. It's a beautiful performance." Vinous
"A racy version with flavours of black cherries, blueberries, violets and iron. It has firm tannins that harmonise with the acidity, while a hint of Mediterranean scrub shines through. Mouthwatering finish." Wine Spectator
"Balanced blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, notes of redcurrants, undergrowth and liquorice on the nose, wild mint on the finish. Juicy attack, dense and crisp, salty-sour tannins, very long finish. Closes with a return of small red fruits." Luca Gardini

“Sereno” Bianco Venezia Giulia IGT 2021
Antonio Bragato, born in Germany but with an absolute Friulian identity, joined forces 20 years ago with Gianni Maccari, who was cellar master at Livio Felluga for many years and founded his own winery Ronco della Rocca at the beginning of the millennium. Maccari, who has a degree in agronomy and Oenologist, is considered one of the best-trained viticultural experts in Friuli. The profound knowledge of his own 12 hectares of vineyards as well as the leased plots and the radical precision in the execution of every operation characterise the clear style and the reliable quality of the wines that Antonio Bragato creates there together with him.
From the 2019 vintage, Bragato's wine experiment enters a new era. Since then, the team has relied on an even more rigorous selection of the oldest vines from the coolest and best sites. The results of the "New Edition" can truly be seen and tasted. They are even more radical in complexity and finesse. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers the smallest editions of these wines, which confirm the many years of work and experience of the two quality fanatics!
In 2021, there was a truly exceptional harvest in Friuli. All the elements - acidity, low PH values, opulent extracts, juiciness, richness of aromas - are impressively present in the white wines. At the same time, the wines appear cool, racy and elegant despite their richness. Antonio Bragato's Sereno 2021, a white cuvée that he has brought to life impressively and even more precisely than ever before after a six-year break, is just as complex and full of tension. On the inviting bouquet, fresh, captivating aromas of pineapple, stone fruits, white flowers, bread crust and white currants. Juicy and very punchy in the drink, with a race and creaminess that is irresistible. The 7-month ageing on the fine lees provides complexity and depth that is exceptional for an "entry wine" into the great world of Bragato wines. SUPERIORE.DE
"Comes from 25-year-old vines. An all-rounder to start with, modelled on the Terlaner Cuvée. Unripe pineapple, one immediately senses the Sauvignon Blanc share, the Friulano rounds off the wine towards the back. Pleasing without being interchangeable." Weinwisser
"Ripe yet delicate pineapple aromas with notes of white flowers and candied lemon. Ripe and juicy, but also gentle and discreetly structured. The lively interplay of mineral freshness and animating acidity makes it hard not to like." James Suckling
"Fragrant, pineapple and mango, passion fruit and elderflower. In the mouth, the wine combines pressure and juiciness, the lively acidity and tactile-mineral motifs give it momentum and tension, the intensity of the (overall still closed) palate structure remains at a high level for quite a long time. May develop into great elegance." Falstaff

“Berardenga” Chianti Classico DOCG 2021
Sangiovese in its purest form: bright ruby colour with a broad garnet rim. Rich in fruity and floral aromas, multi-layered, herbal, deep and well-polished with further development potential. A full-bodied and harmonious Chianti Classico with a highly authentic and very inviting style. SUPERIORE.DE
"Animating cherry, cassis and herbs, shows its pithy side with a bite, salty vein and tart charm, is robust and lingers for a long time. The classic from the south of the growing region." Weinwisser
"Firm and quite dense, yet fine, somewhat smoky-roasted aroma of ripe black and some red berries with cherry nuances, tobacco, nutty and cedar flavours as well as a hint of tar in the background. Ripe, tart, juicy, tightly knit fruit, present, fine sandy tannins and a noticeable acid bite, smoky-roasted flavours on the palate, tobacco and cedar tones, persistent, certain depth, chalky-salty minerality in the background, still undeveloped and somewhat drying, but with substance and noble juice, very good, firm, grippy, spicy and tart-juicy finish." Wein-Plus
"Sparkling ruby red with a slightly brightening rim. Fresh raspberries and strawberries on the nose, then a touch of forest floor and sour cherry. Fresh and juicy on the palate, with well-integrated tannins, long and fruity final." Falstaff
"Brilliant ruby red colour. Deep cherry flavour with dark spice notes. Concentrated, supple and full-bodied. Impressive structure with powdery tannins that have yet to settle." Jancis Robinson
"The Fèlsina 2021 Chianti Classico Berardenga has a savoury or crisp side that I often find in Sangiovese. There's a lot of fruit brightness here with cassis, red cherries, minerals, dried tobacco and grilled rosemary. This is an easy-drinking Tuscan red wine with a natural acidity and brightness that goes well with a classic lasagne or aubergine parmigiana." Wine Advocate
"The 2021 begins with smoky nuances, earth and subtle oak, before moving into fragrant mint and thyme. It is concentrated and ripe, but balanced by freshness and vibrancy. The underlying firmness gradually dissipates to reveal a spicy finish of dried tomatoes." Decanter
"The Chianti Classico Berardenga 2021 is impetuous and expressive right from the glass. Dark fruits, earthy notes, leather, spices and tobacco convey the character of Castelnuovo Berardenga in tonnes. The wine gets better and better in the glass. It's a super-classic example of the house style and a wine to buy by the case. The Berardenga bottling can be a little wild, but in 2021 it has an added touch of sophistication that is undeniable." Vinous
"A firm and silky red wine with aromas and flavours of cherries, dried flowers and orange peel. It is medium-bodied with fine tannins and a fresh and concentrated finish. It still needs some time to mellow, but I'm already enjoying its energy." James Suckling
"Red raspberries on the nose, a hint of wild sage and a floral finish with nuances of lavender. The drinkability is crisp and juicy, good persistence with a return of the Taggiasca olive." Luca Gardini

Terlaner Cuvée Alto Adige DOC 2023
Terlaner Cuvée (formerly Terlaner Classico) is the wine that best embodies the identity and personality of this iconic agricultural co-operative in South Tyrol. Since its founding in 1893, it has been closely linked to the history of the winery like no other wine. Since the 2013 vintage, its grapes have been sourced from selected vineyards in the Vorberg, Kreuth and Winkl vineyards. Aromas of tropical and passion fruit, peach, pear and sweet almonds are surrounded by a salty, mineral vein and give this wonderfully juicy white wine finesse and the pure character typical of Terlan. SUPERIORE.DE
"Fine nose, more characterised by Pinot Blanc, with fresh stone fruit such as pears and apricots, meadow flowers. Very juicy on the palate, enveloped in an elegant melting texture with hints of herbs and a salty, melting finish." Weinwisser
"This fresh, minerally white offers both expression and restraint, with fine interplay between the well-cut acidity and flavors of yellow peach, glazed tangerine, pink grapefruit, green almond, jasmine and milled white pepper. Long and mouthwatering, with a salty tang cleaning the fragrant finish." Wine Spectator
"Lots of fresh flowers, lime, sliced apple and honeysuckle on the nose with notes of candied lemon and heather. Full-bodied with a slight phenolic tension, rich with lots of citrus peel and minerals on the finish. Concentrated and fresh." James Suckling

Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2021
Lisini's Rosso di Montalcino smells of violets, lavender and cinnamon-dusted cherries. This flows effortlessly across the palate with polished ripe red fruits and sweet inner spices. There is nothing out of place in this silky beauty. The lightly textured and characterful final is balanced by zesty acidity and shows nuances of red candy mixed with worn leather and a pleasant inner sweetness that lingers. Juicy and flavoursome character with well-dosed tannins and lively acidity. A wine for every day, but with great class. SUPERIORE.DE
"Smoky, red berry, fresh, red fruits, straightforward, great length with lots of red berry freshness like pomegranate and cranberry juice." Weinwisser
"The 2021 Rosso di Montalcino opens with an herbal note that quickly fades to reveal a mix of wild berries, crushed rock and sweet smoke. It is remarkably fresh and energetic, with an abundance of ripe, mineral red fruit and spice driven by zesty acidity. The finish is spotty and long, leaving a bitter aftertaste that is refreshed by a hint of residual acidity." Vinous

Full of character on the palate with a fine acid wire, complex, well-structured, rich in flavour and long. SUPERIORE.DE

Light ruby red with orange reflections. Fine bouquet of violets, forest floor, cherries and a balsamic camphor note. Marasca cherry, some raspberry, liquorice and a hint of mint on the palate. An animating acidity and the right amount of powdery tannins round off the lively and long final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dense, deep red berry flavours, dark cherries, firmly framed by grippy tannins, still slightly porous in texture, rather a head of character that still needs to round off a little." Weinwisser
"This is a bright and perfumed Barbaresco that shows potpourri, rosehips, dried strawberries and orange peel on the nose. It is medium-bodied, tangy and lively, with firm tannins and crisp acidity." James Suckling
"A lively mix of candied and fresh red fruits, bay leaf, and green herbs, with a whisper of cinchona bark and blooming rose. “Eichhorn” Pinot Bianco Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2022 (BIO)

Eichhorn Pinot Blanc has a light golden colour with beautiful aromas of lemon peel, orange marmalade, some smoke and ripe pears. The flavour is clear, fruity and long. Modern classicism and casual elegance from Manincor. SUPERIORE.DE

Poggio Valente comes from a single vineyard of the same name at an altitude of around 300 metres. Opulent floral and small-fruited Sangiovese nose with optimally nuanced hints of tobacco, cedar and mint. Precise on the palate with plenty of pressure and power, then towards the end the furious resolution of all the well-dosed components in a fine, silky texture and an unforgettable, long final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Wonderfully clear red-fruity bouquet with cherries, wild berries and wonderful floral (lavender, roses) and spicy notes. Still very delicate, but juicy and elegant as well as precisely woven with a lively style, lives from the red berry fruit, the fine tannin riff and the wonderfully ethereal freshness with wonderful liquorice notes on the final." Weinwisser
"This all-Sangiovese wine is celebrating its 25th anniversary. I am told it's made with a Burgundian model in mind. The Fattoria le Pupille 2021 Poggio Valente offers good fruit concentration, freshness and an open-knit personality. There is plenty of red fruit character along with iris, blue flower and earth, and the tannins are present, albeit powdery." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of cherries, chocolate and walnuts. Some undertones of lavender and rose petals. Medium-bodied, with superfine tannins and notes of chocolate and vanilla. Give it time to open up." James Suckling

Limitation of 18 articles per customerBrunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019
Caparzo is one of two estates in Montalcino (the other is Altesino, by the way) owned by the extremely charming Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini.
Caparzo's Brunello di Montalcino is a very classic interpretation that delivers the perfect stuff without any distracting frills. The nose is fruity and warm at the same time: aromas of strawberries, cherries and hibiscus flirt with notes of dark chocolate, orange peel and stones bathing in the sun. On the palate, a wave of cranberry brings an astringency that refreshes a lingering stony note before the chocolate returns on the finish. The firm, imposing tannins creep up slowly, adding depth without weighing the wine down. Great value! SUPERIORE.DE
"Fruity bouquet, dark cherries, but also cassis and blue berries. Behind this, however, very clear notes of cherry, blackberries and marvellous floral hints. Polished and pleasing on the palate, round, with fine, round tannins, sweet berries." Weinwisser
"Ruby red with brightening edges. Intense nose of ripe cherry, some leather and beeswax, reminiscent of blood orange on the final. Clear fruit again on the palate, fine woody spice, with a certain pressure and pithy tannins." Falstaff
"The 2019 captures its overtly fragrant disposition. Fennel, mint and aniseed linger on the palate. Plush and soft texture with a predominant blackcurrant flavour. The fine tannins harmonise with the zesty acidity. An uncomplicated and attractive wine overall." Decanter
"Rich and supple, with aromas and flavours of cherry, blackberry, graphite and tobacco. The dense, dusty tannins are evident in the long, lively finish, in which a slight astringency lingers." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino opens slowly in the glass, but it's worth the wait as a dusty mix of dried flowers, cedar shavings, wild strawberries and spice unfolds over time. It is silky and enveloping with fresh acidity and pretty wild berries that gain sweetness over the palate. The finish is long and colourful but still lively and tangy, leaving a layer of fine tannins and liquorice notes that resonate under a hint of violet blossom. The 2019 is a beautiful interpretation of the fruit of northern Montalcino." Vinous
"The Caparzo 2019 Brunello di Montalcino offers vibrant flavours of cherry-cola, wild berries and dried cranberries, which are very much in evidence on the nose. The wine's dimension and scope are impressive, especially in terms of mouthfeel. What works best in my opinion, however, is the wine's balanced and much-needed freshness. You get a great quality." Wine Advocate
"Quite pure fruit with flavours of black cherries, black berries and light chocolate. The palate is full and focused with very polished tannins and a long, long finish." James Suckling

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2016
Beautiful and very well-balanced red wine from the three main historical areas of Montalcino, which have different geoclimatic characteristics due to their different slopes and altitudes - and thus ensure a unique balance between freshness and structure, body and elegance.
Ruby red in colour with garnet reflections, opens immediately with a rich, complex nose. Initially dark cherry, chinotto orange and violet. It then opens up to broader, more complex notes of blueberry, vanilla, tobacco, cinnamon and chocolate with a subtle menthol finish. This juicy 2016 Brunello di Montalcino offers plenty of energy and brightness, conveyed by the cherry fruit and wild berry flavours at its core. The primary fruit is surrounded by spice, grilled herbs and floral earth. The natural complexity, purity and depth of the Sangiovese grape comes into its own in this dream vintage and especially in this Brunello. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, noble ruby red colour with a radiant core. Open-hearted and inviting nose, slightly fleshy, with nuances of ripe sour cherries, pepper and raspberries, with an aftertaste of rose hips. Very polished and balanced on the palate, with tightly woven tannins, opens up beautifully on the palate, slightly salty finish." Falstaff
"Deep ruby red colour. Senescent fruit sweetness, beautiful ripe cherry and undergrowth. There is also an obvious oak sweetness on the palate, but there is still a delicacy here, perhaps because the tannins are so fine and relatively light. Elegant, dry, delicate, long, even juicy." Jancis Robinson
"Bringing together grapes from diverse vineyards throughout Montalcino, this midweight, almost-approachable Brunello is focused and vibrant. It takes a bit of coaxing on the nose then divulges sage, orange rind and fennel. Brisk acidity and chalky tannins meet crisp red currant and cranberry, cleansing the palate nicely." Decanter
"The Brunello di Montalcino 2016 has something spicy and slightly rustic about it, which I find very attractive. Baked black cherries, balsamic spice and a hint of animal musk create a beguiling spectacle. The textures are silky smooth, with cooling acids and salty minerals lifting the expression as they give way to tart red fruits. The tannins increase and slowly dry out the senses, but even today the 2016 is a pleasure to drink, coming across as both youthfully structured and savoury and fresh. It is a blend from the vineyards of Val di Suga in Montalcino." Vinous
"Aromas of iron, blood and cherry introduce this soft and lively red wine, while an abundance of dark fruit - black cherry and blackberry - lingers on the palate. The finish is characterised by dark, chocolaty tannins." Wine Spectator
"Dusty notes of crushed gravel and dried tea leaves are the prelude to aromas of fresh mushrooms and hints of fennel. Spicy mushrooms and olives, followed by firm, fine-grained tannins. Structured and full-bodied." James Suckling

“Sophie” Chardonnay Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2022 (BIO)
"Elegant and dense, charming and powerful, sophisticated, exciting and highly individual ... An unmistakable cuvée of the great white varieties with Storage potential." Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg, Weingut Manincor
Sophie, an aristocratic Chardonnay with small parts of Viognier, offers a clean, fresh bouquet with notes of apple blossom, citrus fruit and brioche. On the palate, too, the precise and classic style with balanced elegance and class. SUPERIORE.DE
"Finesse and complexity characterise this wine. Elegant on the nose, with very juicy fruit of quince, ripe apples and apricots. Light-footed and dancing on the palate, the stony minerality is enveloped by a fine silkiness, incredibly stimulating with a juicy finish." Weinwisser
"Polished, somewhat nutty and a hint of roasted aroma with fine yellow fruity flavours, a little herbs and hints of fennel and root vegetables. Fairly tightly knit, tart, finely juicy fruit, nutty, smoky and again hints of roasted tones, fine acidity and moderate grip, persistent on the palate, quite concentrated, mineral in the background, fennel and delicate herbal tones in the background, a little lemon peel, hints of pepper, good depth, despite all the power also has something playful, very good, firm and almost cool finish." Wein-Plus
"A tangy framework of tangerine acidity and salty minerality combines with flavours of persimmon, almond skin, dried white cherry, thyme and beeswax. Shows a biting liveliness and good concentration through the lingering, well-seasoned finish." Wine Spectator
"This is a very precise chardonnay with cooked apples, apple tart, caramel and toasted oak. It’s full and intense but very precise and focused. Just the right amount of toasted oak. Grapefruit notes with a lightly bitter finish." James Suckling

Limitation of 6 articles per customerBrunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Beautifully weighted, the 2019 edition is full yet agile with enough structure to carry it over the next decade. Above all, it emphasises the freshness and balance of the vintage: the aromas unfold slowly, but are very floral, with cherry and thyme blossoms underscored by peppery notes. Crisp red plums and juicy cherries dominate the palate, with the youthful, grippy tannins needing a little time to integrate perfectly. SUPERIORE.DE
"It opens with a fruity flavour of red and blue fruits, with spicy notes reminiscent of cinnamon and cardamom. Dense and creamy in the mouth, very juicy, still a little grippy in the tannins, a modern Brunello that should be ready to drink in 1 to 2 years." Weinwisser
"Bright ruby red colour. Ripe blackberries, some undergrowth, dried oregano and loam on the nose. Great tension on the palate, juicy, dark fruit, tightly woven tannins and a precise final with pressure." Falstaff
"Deep to dark ruby red in colour. Deep, brooding and backward on the nose, but with real precision. Lots of juicy red fruit and impressive, fine-grained tannins. Still a little embryonic, but already hard to resist. Pure class." Jancis Robinson
"Pure and refined wine with lively raspberries, red cherries, rosehips and a hint of citrus blossom. Medium to full-bodied with firm but silky tannins. Excellent acid backbone. Enjoyable now, but give it another two to three years to develop." James Suckling
"Deep notes of dried black cherries meet cedar shavings and worn leather as the seductive Brunello di Montalcino 2019 slowly unfolds in the glass. It is surprisingly juicy and energising, with a pure blend of red fruits and inner flowers accompanied by fresh acidity. Fine tannins assert themselves on the finish as the 2019 takes on a youthful tension and pinches the cheeks, while tart cranberry notes fade into a youthful, crisp final." Vinous
"The certified organic Col d'Orcia 2019 Brunello di Montalcino shows ripe fruit, blackberry, earthy notes, liquorice and, generally speaking, a much bigger and riper fruit profile compared to its peers. It offers a full-bodied Brunello opulence that can be enjoyed in the short or medium term, and the wine delivers flavours of dried fruit such as plum and fig to finish. The tannins are velvety and contribute to the richness of the rather forward and immediate mouthfeel." Wine Advocate
"The 2019 is immediately inviting and expressive. It seduces with lovely tones of red rose, cherry and sweet thyme. Expansive and spacious, the palate unfolds fluidly with layers of delicious red plum and pomegranate. Hibiscus, rosewater and orange hide in every crevice. A brilliant demonstration of the flavourful juiciness of Sangiovese. Deceptively gentle at the start, fine sandy tannins build in a worthy crescendo." Decanter
"This densely packed version is resonant and persistent, with fine integration of all its components, though today it is compact and austere, revealing flavours of cherry, raspberry, rose, earth and minerals. Give it the benefit of the doubt." Wine Spectator
"Notes of marasca, geranium and eucalyptus on the nose. Juicy tannins on the palate, balsamic and floral notes, compact flavour and crispness." Luca Gardini

Barolo “Albe” DOCG 2020
Brilliant and finely moulded on the palate. Expressive, floral notes merge with bright red fruits, mint and ground berries to create a lively and distinctive Barolo that is endowed with pure energy and class. Albe is juicy and fruity and a clear buy, and not just because of its comparatively moderate price. It comes from the three parcels Fossati, Castello della Volta and Costa di Vergne. SUPERIORE.DE
"Aromas of ripe raspberries, dark spices and blue flowers on the nose, with a red-fruity flavour, fine extract sweetness and supportive tannins, very inviting and charming. A great gastro wine." Weinwisser
"A bright and lively Barolo, showing orange slices, raspberries, crushed stones and rose petals on the nose. Medium-bodied, with strong acidity and firm tannins. Lots of energy." James Suckling
"The bouquet is a harmonious blend of red fruits with warmed cherries, steeped in sweet and savoury spices such as cinnamon and cloves. Dried raspberries and redcurrants add depth, while a distinct component of dried leaves and flowers is tantalising. The palate reveals vibrant cherries, cranberries and strawberries, while thyme and bay leaf balance the flavours with subtle herbal notes. The delicious acidity keeps the wine lively, and the pleasant tannins allow you to enjoy this wine now, giving you the opportunity to pair it with a variety of dishes." Wine Enthusiast
"This effusive red displays cherry, raspberry, rose, iron, juniper and hay flavors, underscored by vibrant acidity. Harmonious and supple in texture, with a long aftertaste of red fruit, mineral and floral elements." Wine Spectator

“Vigna Sessina” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Dievoles Gran Selezione Vigna Sessina is dark, deep and with wonderfully powerful cherry and blackberry flavours. Very defined and precise on the palate with an archetypal interpretation of the grape variety. Everything is in the right place here, the balance and clarity impresses with every sip. The finish has terrificlength and depth. This is Sangiovese in its purest form with infinite energy and expression. SUPERIORE.DE
"Seems a little cheesy with its "sugary" fruit and sweetness, but can please with the juicy vein and the robust tannin as well as the fine acidity and lets the wood resonate skilfully in the background." Weinwisser
"From a vineyard 420 metres above sea level: profound bouquet of red berries, lilacs and herbs; juicy on the palate, beautifully polished, supple tannins and crisp acidity, fruity and spicy finish. Successful." Vinum
"Medium ruby red with first orange-coloured reflections. A little dusty, probably from the oak, with shy, fragrant raspberry fruit underneath. With aeration, the nose becomes finer and more concentrated, with a hint of iron. The palate is elegant and delicate, with plenty of freshness." Jancis Robinson
"The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna Sessina 2019 comes from a one-hectare parcel with a mixture of clay and rock. Cured meat, lavender, spices, dried herbs and sweet tobacco lend the distinctive bouquet a beguiling complexity. The 2019 has a medium body, remarkable structural depth and the necessary structure to age." Vinous
"Sessina is a 5.5-hectare, south-facing vineyard on Macigno (sandstone soil), but with a limestone vein running through it. It shines in the fresh 2019 vintage - it is the best bottling of this wine that I have tasted. It has a lively aroma of mint, sage and a hint of chocolate. The dark plum core is ripe yet crisp, with tannins that are gently textured and grip in all the right places. Refined and elegant, but not without depth, it offers a tantalising interplay of warm Mediterranean balsamic notes with cooler forest tones. Delicious." Decanter
"Polished and pretty nose of dried flowers, cloves, mocha, dried cherries and chocolate orange. It is medium-bodied with firm tannins. Beautiful freshness and balance, with a long and elegant finish." James Suckling
"The organic Dievole 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna di Sessina is a true beauty, offering elegance and power in two ways in this vintage. There are plenty of black fruit flavours that delicately fade into crushed stone, spices and grilled herbs. The winery opts for fermentation in cement and rapid ageing in oak for about a year. These steps ensure intact primary aromas and the wine is characterised by energy and lively flavours." Wine Advocate
"With aromas and flavours of strawberries, cherries, roses and minerals, this pretty red wine is firmly structured and closes tightly on the finish. Nevertheless, it is very fruity and has a very long aftertaste." Wine Spectator

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018
Rose petals, mint, cinnamon, dark sweet cherries and smoke lift from the glass in a translucent, wiry Brunello that builds on energy, power and opulence. Here, length and fruit are in the foreground and, together with a clearly defined tannin structure, Leopoldo Franceschi's team has produced a wine here in a very classic vintage that will really reveal itself over the next few years. As always, it is one of our favourites, and its still outstanding value is also great fun! SUPERIORE.DE
"Wide-ranging bouquet with lots of cedar, ripe red and dark fruits, wild strawberries, cassis and red currants. Behind this, the wood barrel ageing also shows with fine cedar, cloves and dark spices as well as herbs. Rich, almost meaty and dense palate, not quite as dense as 2016, but immensely present freshness and dynamism, also the tannin network seems a bit leaner than usual and of best quality. Very persistent and long aftertaste with crunchy berries on the final." Weinwisser
"Firm, a touch animalic aroma of ripe mixed berries and a hint of plums with fleshy notes, tart nutty hints, pepper and ethereal herbal tones. Taut, tart, ripe, quite dense fruit, present, fine, youthful tannin and some acid bite, persistent, slightly herbaceous, tobacco and peppery, clearly salt in the background, plenty of power but also freshness, not eternally deep but perfectly vinified, very good, firm, tart finish." Wein-Plus
"Bright ruby red. Spicy-animalic nose, then ripe Amarena cherry and plum, walnut, undergrowth, shoe polish. On the palate equally earthy tones, wide-meshed tannin, plus dark fruit." Falstaff
"Shiny, deep ruby red. In the nose still quite closed with just a hint of Moroccan leather. On the palate pure cherry fruit flavours with lots of ripe acidity. Fantastic, compact, gravelly tannins that are a real tour de force in this vintage. A hedonistic whole that you can already approach but will improve with time." Jancis Robinson
"A smoky entry leads to leather and tobacco nuances that repeat on the palate. The 2018 is packed with flavours of cherries and baking spices. It feels medium-bodied but is very rich and its powerful bite contributes positively to the pleasing mouthfeel. It will get even better with another year in bottle." Decanter
"This is a flavourful, complex Brunello with aromas of fresh and sour cherries, plums, bay leaves, rosemary and olives. Also cloves and liquorice. It is medium to full-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins. Supple and well integrated, with a long and deliciously spicy finish." James Suckling
"The Il Poggione 2018 Brunello di Montalcino shows a dark and spicy character with more fruit weight and concentration than can be found in many of its competitors. This wine shows a dense focus padded with dark cherry, blackberry, roasted spice, mahogany smoked meat and ploughed earth. Despite the powerful flavours, this Sangiovese is actually quite lean and polished in texture. The tannins are soft and easily accessible. The estate's Riserva Vigna Paganelli was not made in 2018, so the fruit from this wine came here instead." Wine Advocate
"The dense structure sets the pace for this red wine, with aromas of cherry, raspberry, mint and tar that are appealing and expressive. Rosehip, orange peel and earth are evident in the long, expansive aftertaste. It is designed to last a long time." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino impresses from the first swirl of the glass, with a heady burst of exotic spices and crushed ash giving way to dried black cherries and grilled herbs. It combines the energy of the vintage with the dark, balsamic fruits of Montalcino's southern foothills, while zesty acidity maintains balance and minerals saturate towards the finish. The finish is long, savoury and structured, but its tannins are rounder than expected, giving it a classic feel but also leaving a delicious sensation that tempts the taster to reach for the glass again and again. The 2018 is certainly one of the top wines of the vintage, not to be missed." Vinous
"One of the first wineries to deal in Brunello, one of the founding members of the Consortium. A Brunello characterised by freshness, pomegranate on the nose, hints of citrus thyme and white pepper. The palate has juicy tannins with a fruity return." Luca Gardini

“Castello Fonterutoli” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020
Historically, the vineyards of Castello di Fonterutoli are located in the areas of three neighbouring municipalities of Chianti Classico: Castellina in Chianti, Castelnuovo Berardenga and Radda in Chianti. With the 2017 vintage, the Mazzei family vinified all three large vineyards separately as Chianti Classico Gran Selezione for the first time in order to recognise the diversity of the terroir: Castello di Fonterutoli, Vicoregio 36 and Badiola.
Castello di Fonterutoli comes from 11 different plots at an altitude of 420-510 metres around the hamlet of Fonterutoli in Castellina in Chianti. It is both the "Château" and the oldest cru of the estate and was first produced in 1995 as the predecessor to today's Gran Selezione. Rich colour and a clear aroma of blackberries, cherries, violets and flowers, with a hint of nougat. This full-bodied Castello Fonterutoli impresses with its beguiling extract sweetness and polished tannins. The intense and concentrated flavour enchants the senses. The long final is full of elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Velvety and seductive in its style, finely woven and with polished tannins, accompanied by sweet fruit and a warm and full-bodied mouthfeel." Weinwisser
"Inviting red and black cherries, wild strawberries and woody notes; intense, balsamic and juicy freshness with grainy tannins." Decanter
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello Fonterutoli is a powerful, earthy wine. Black cherry, grilled herbs, menthol, liquorice, tobacco and dried herbs form the backbone of this powerful, earthy wine. With time in the glass, this wine opens up beautifully. Pretty floral accents and white pepper lift the finish." Vinous
"Lush and velvety, with aromas and flavours of cherry, plum, earth and iron as well as a hint of oak spice. A lively, firmly structured red wine with fine tannins on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Wonderful bouquet of black cherries, herbs and violets, also pepper; extremely elegant in the mouth with a fine finish and tightly woven tannins, ends long on raspberry and violet notes, undergrowth and liquorice." Vinum
"The Mazzei 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello Fonterutoli offers a rich texture, lots of dark fruit and an oak-accentuated overall approach. It finishes gently with cinnamon, baking spice and a sweet note of white chocolate." Wine Advocate
"Attractive aromas of red plums, dried cranberries, flavoured citrus peel, red spices and bark. Medium to full-bodied, broad and structured with ripe and well-integrated tannins and juicy fruit. Exciting. Shows notes of rose petals with crushed rock minerality. Long-lasting and lively finish." James Suckling
"Another great Gran Selezione project for Castello di Fonterutoli. Visciola, a hint of nettle and undergrowth, a nice iodine note on the finish, dense and compact mouthfeel, salty tannins, finish with a fruity and oily aftertaste. Persistent." Luca Gardini

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018
In the classic Brunello vintage, the 2018 edition is a fine example of the Ciacci style. Opulent, deep bouquet of small red berries, plus multi-layered hints of crushed flowers, tobacco and cherry pits. Very resonant and expressive on the palate, the fine tannins and a well-dosed acidity lead into a soft, very open finish. All in all, we are impressed by the beautiful harmony and balance, which is already a great pleasure to drink at a young age. SUPERIORE.DE
"Smells seductively of raspberries and flowers; compact texture, the tannins supple and of excellent quality, the acidity provides the vitality, the final promising and of great length, but should still mature." Vinum
"With a crisp, beguiling bouquet, red currants, cranberries and tobacco, behind it also delicately herbaceous-ethereal nuances such as eucalyptus and laurel. Very juicy and finesse-rich, full of crackling tension and yet so seductive, stylish and punchy. In the spicy final it scores with its subtle and refined nature." Weinwisser
"Bright ruby red with a sparkling core. In the nose fine fruit, of wild strawberries, blood oranges, rose hips, underlaid with a fine floral scent and liquorice. Radiant on the palate with a hearty, creamy fruit core, spreads beautifully across the tongue, spreads supreme drinking pleasure!" Falstaff
Dark and brooding, the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino takes its time to give off hints of mocha before opening with a blend of dried red fruits, cloves and rosemary. The wine is surprisingly pure and elegant as ripe red and black fruits pour over a core of vibrant acidity. The 2018 leaves a lingering tension on the palate as fine-grained tannins penetrate deeply and hints of tart wild berries and a touch of cocoa slowly fade." Vinous
"Dense and brooding, with aromas of plums, cherries, earth, menthol and tobacco. On the austere side today, with buried fruit and dominant tannins, but this has fine balance and extended length." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino produces beautiful results if you choose to drink it now, or if you cellar it a little longer. It offers immediate intensity and complexity with a red and purple berry fruit attack that follows tarry spices, campfire ash, liquorice and rusty nails. These savoy tones are balanced with the wine's elegant, medium-weight finish. And the tannins are seamlessly integrated. The winemaking team has done a good job in a difficult vintage." Wine Advocate
"Roasted herbs, walnuts, olives, dried cherries and balsamic on the nose with hints of leather and sage. It is full-bodied with firm, finely meshed tannins. Creamy and very well integrated, with depth and class. Try it after 2024." James Suckling
The "base" of the Ciacci Piccolomini house, another excellence of this winery. Great tension on the nose, red currant, nuances of laurel and eucalyptus. Juiciness and tension on the palate, iodine-rich tannins, fruity-balsamic finish." Luca Gardini

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019
Traditionally vinified, its intense ruby red colour, the fruity aroma with spicy and balsamic notes and its gentle start on the palate, which builds furiously, are impressive. The high-class tannin structure rests between the soft components, so that this Brunello from the dream year 2019 simultaneously demonstrates elegance and strength without appearing too modern. SUPERIORE.DE
"Fragrant, very precisely framed bouquet with red berries, mineral notes and violets, hibiscus, with fine mineral hints behind it. Quite lean and powerful in the mouth, very fine style, coherent in itself." Weinwisser
"Clear, slightly warm, somewhat nutty and hinted at tobacco-like aroma of ripe red and black berries with bloody and cedary traces. Ripe, firm, juicy, still undeveloped fruit, relatively present, crumbly-sandy, ripe tannins, slightly smoky and nutty oak notes, persistent on the palate, some bite, certain depth, cooling mineral elements, dark spice, very good, firm, tart-juicy and spicy finish." Wein-Plus
"Bright ruby red with brightening edges. Opens with notes of fresh cherries, some rosehip and light tobacco. Fine-meshed, polished tannins in the attack and on the palate, still young overall, fine salinity on the final." Falstaff
"The 2019 is forward and rich in flavours. Sun-soaked oily herbs and grilled Mediterranean shrubs are reminiscent of late summer in Tuscany. Mint and rosemary are repeated on the full-bodied, powerful palate. The tannins are mostly ripe, but a slight astringency provides a pleasant aftertaste. More rustic than elegant, but it will certainly have its fans." Decanter
"Aromas of balsamic herbs and dark chocolate give way to dried black cherries and pine shavings as the 2019 Brunello di Montalcino draws the taster to the glass. This is a supple and racy wine with a cool acidity and dark red fruits that flow over a silky textural wave. The finish is savoury and long, but also remarkably fresh, with edgy tannins that linger as the notes of salted liquorice slowly fade. The wine's balance is stunning, but don't be fooled by the 2019's openness; this is a wine for the cellar." Vinous
"A firm and silky Brunello with berry, cherry, cedar and meat flavours. It's medium-bodied and fairly dense, but shows some polish. Better after 2026." James Suckling
"The Fanti 2019 Brunello di Montalcino offers dark fruit and an articulate bouquet with elements of ripeness and balsamic herbs, unfolding its aromas in hints of liquorice, dark plums, smoked tobacco and sweet floral earth. On the palate, Brunello di Montalcino reveals much of its intensity with an abundance of ripe fruit that gently fades in the mid-palate. The tannins are gently integrated." Wine Advocate
"This silky red wine, which evokes flavours of cherries, strawberries and hibiscus, is harmonious and elegant. Mineral and wild herbal elements add details that carry through to the long, energising aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"Red mulberries on the nose, hints of star anise, wild rosemary and chinotto. Salty tannins on the palate, hints of small fruits and spicy notes." Luca Gardini

“Levigne” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2019 (BIO)
The grapes for Istine's cult Riserva come exclusively from the estate's own vineyards Istine (Radda), Casanova dell'Aia (Radda) and Cavarchione (Gaiole). Only 4,000 bottles of this breathtaking wine, which matures for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, are bottled each year.
Rich, bright ruby red with a sparkling centre. The bouquet is complex with aristocratic restraint. Compact and freshly fruity nose of rich cherries and ripe raspberries, with amarena cherries and notes of tobacco in the background. Medium-bodied on the palate, but with infinite, captivating depth that awaits discovery. Spreads out beautifully in the body, appears downright juicy and fruit-emphasised and continues to open up towards its terrific finalwith crunchy cherries and a refined saline vein. Purists will love its linear and unmistakable Sangiovese character. SUPERIORE.DE
"A vertical and lively wine that offers everything from fresh fruit with mineral flavour, power and fine acidity to elegance and a round finish." Weinwisser
"Austere, this red features tar, iron and wild herb notes swirling around a core of black cherry and blackberry fruit. Linear in profile, with bracing acidity and firm yet refined tannins." Wine Spectator
"The Chianti Classico Riserva Levigne 2019 is a powerful, dense wine. As always, the Riserva is the most concentrated and strongest of the Chianti Classicos. It is certainly a great Riserva." Vinous
"From the vineyards of Istine and Casanova dell'Aia, a selection of the best Sangiovese grapes for the Fronti family's flagship product. Notes of cranberry on the nose, then nutmeg and hints of pepper leaf. On the palate, savoury, salty tannins, fruity and noble notes and beautiful length on the palate." Luca Gardini

The WEINWISSER was founded in 1992 by Swiss wine pundit René Gabriel and food critic Wolfram Meister as the Swiss counterpart to Parker's Wine Advocate. Like the Wine-Advocate, the "independent newsletter for everyone who wants to know more about wine" consisted only of individual A4 sheets stapled together. Since the well-known wine critic Giuseppe Lauria (formerly part of the chief taster team at Gault Millau) took over as editor-in-chief, the layout has been significantly modernised, while Lauria has also advanced the magazine's profile in terms of content and sharpened it to focus on fine wines from all over the world with well-founded and comprehensible assessments.
WEINWISSER is one of the leading German-language wine and tasting magazines for wine professionals and ambitious wine lovers. For more than 25 years, WEINWISSER has stood for independent and competent wine criticism. WEINWISSER's team of 12 expert authors, led by editor-in-chief and wine critic Giuseppe Lauria, systematically tastes, describes and evaluates more than 4,000 high-quality top wines from all over the world every year, providing a unique purchasing and orientation aid for wine professionals, passionate and discerning wine lovers.
WEINWISSER informs about current wine trends, presents the best and most exciting wines and wineries of the world as well as interesting newcomers and wine personalities. New sections you will find in this magazine are: "Wine Personality of the Month", "Wine of the Month" as well as "Pearls of the Month", in which international top decision-makers, top wines and top sparkling wines are regularly portrayed exclusively and in detail.
Since 2008, WEINWISSER has belonged to the German publishing house Konradin Selection. Since then, well-known German-speaking wine journalists have been alternately evaluating international top wines and providing well-founded tasting notes. The WEINWISSER rates wines according to the 20-point system. SUPERIORE.DE
