“Riff” Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC 2019 (BIO)
From the 2018 vintage onwards, the popular RIFF Pinot Grigio delle Venezie will not only be certified organic, but will also be given a new look by the Austrian artist Nanna Prieler. With a total of five different motifs, the creation of the mountain landscape is told in the segments of stylised ammonites on which the vines for the Pinot Gris RIFF stand today: From the ocean with its coral reefs to the unique terroir, in which many fossils of former ocean inhabitants can still be discovered today.
Bright light yellow with greenish shimmer. In the smell fine fruity, flowery-mineral with delicate notes of tropical fruits. On the palate, RIFF Pinot Gris is precise, lively and fresh, with a medium body and a harmonious finish. A perfect accompaniment to light Mediterranean dishes or simply solo on a balcony or terrace. Oh, yeah! Forget your prejudices in your head when you hear BIO. Because the exact opposite is the truth. BIO is your guarantee of enjoyment. No products from giant farms, but from small farmers who still pay attention to their land because the whole family lives off it. From organic cultivation. It takes a lot of manual work. But you can taste that too.
Organic wine from Italy.
Actually, there is no BIO wine. But wine made from grapes from organic farming. Sounds too complicated, though. That's why everyone says organic wine. And once you're in the country, you'll see the difference right away. There are vineyards, the soils between the rows are brown. Well, of course, Earth - say now. True, but have you ever thought why there is no weed, no blade of grass growing?
And then there are vineyards that look like freshly combed green. Greenery, flowers and herbs grow half a meter high between the lines. Well, because it just doesn't get squirted to death. On the contrary, BIO winegrowers sow their own crop mixtures between the lines. This also helps with the moisture balance in the vineyard. And at the end of the year it is dug into the ground - and thus turned into fertilizer again.
Controlled organic cultivation is the magic formula.
All organic products from our Italian vineyards and olive groves are certified and strictly monitored. That's what we're looking for. So you get only the finest organic products and organic wines from Italy. From organic viticulture or biodynamic agriculture. Whether organic white wine, organic rosé wine or organic red wine. Whether organic olive oil "Extra Vergine" or our delicate organic products from Italy in our delicatessen department. Taste it, the taste will convince you. And your grandchildren may even thank you for it once.
That's good to know: Many of our winegrowers have long been engaged in near-natural, organic or biodynamic cultivation - and the number is constantly growing. You will find the information on the type of cultivation under the portrait at the beginning of each winegrower category. SUPERIORE.DE
