!["Donna Margherita" Barbera d'Alba DOC 2023]()
“Donna Margherita” Barbera d’Alba DOC 2023
This great Barbera d'Alba was actually created to harmonise everyday life and expression – and it is also a tribute to Giovanni's great-grand aunt – nuanced, clear and warm-hearted. In the glass, it shines in an intense ruby red colour. The nose is caressed by ripe sour cherry, raspberry and a delicate scent of violets, complemented by a hint of orange peel, roasted hazelnut and sweet spice notes – a scented motorway into the seductive world of the Barbera grape. A juicy, lively fruit structure unfolds on the palate, supported by fresh, harmonious acidity and softly integrated tannins. The ageing in stainless steel emphasises freshness and varietal purity. The finish is clear, with a fine citrus note and floral elegance. A high-quality everyday wine with character and finesse from a great house. SUPERIORE.DE

Arneis Roero DOCG 2024
A radiant expression of the white tradition of Piedmont: this Roero Arneis presents itself in a delicate light straw yellow colour with subtle greenish reflections. Floral nuances of hawthorn and camomile unfold on the nose, accompanied by sun-ripened stone fruits such as peach and yellow apple, accompanied by a hint of almond – elegant, harmonious and animatingly lively. On the palate, freshness is combined with structure: a lively, citrus-driven acidity carries a dense, almost silky texture, with a salty minerality on the finish, which is typical of the sandy soils of the Roero. The lingering, finely spiced finish is both elegant and lively. A Roero Arneis that combines origin and flair, fresh, expressive and with a hint of exoticism. SUPERIORE.DE

![Nebbiolo Langhe DOC 2023]()
Nebbiolo Langhe DOC 2023
Smooth Nebbiolo that shows the clear signature of Giovanni Rosso: This Langhe Nebbiolo presents itself in a bright garnet red with a ruby-coloured rim as an elegant companion with a presence of origin. The naturally cultivated vines are rooted in calcareous and clayey soils around Serralunga d'Alba. The bouquet reveals delicate notes of violets, red wild berries, white rose and a hint of dried herbs – wonderfully balanced between freshness and depth. The palate reveals a fine, supple body: lively acidity, gentle tannins and a fine mineral vein that accompanies the finish with clarity and elegance. A young Nebbiolo with youthful agility and plenty of charm – a lively picture of the terroir in youthful form. SUPERIORE.DE

![Barolo DOCG 2020]()
Barolo DOCG 2020
This classic Barolo, based on an exciting blend of plots from Serralunga d'Alba, Castiglione Falletto and Barolo, shows the stylistic signature of the region at its best. The soils are structurally diverse: rich in calcareous marl, loam and mineral intersperses, each parcel contributes its part to the tension of the wine. The 2020 vintage reveals a model year of balance: a cool, precise ripening process with milder temperatures early on, followed by warm but balanced days and cool nights until the harvest. After traditional vinification – including daily pumping over during the 25-day maceration period – the wine matured for around 24–30 months in tonneaux.

Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d’Alba DOCG 2020
Serralunga d'Alba stands for powerful Barolo with depth, structure and astonishing ageing potential. Giovanni Rosso draws the best from this origin: south-east to south-west facing vines on calcareous, clayey-maceous soils at high altitudes (300-350 metres), combined with rigorous natural cultivation. The 2020 vintage recorded optimal ripeness, favoured by warm days, cool nights and a flawless autumn. After careful manual harvesting, each parcel underwent separate 25-day maceration, after which the wine matured for between 24 and 60 months in large oak barrels.

Barolo Cerretta DOCG 2019
Barolo Cerretta is a dense, concentrated and energetic expression of Nebbiolo. Red and purple fruit flavours of cassis, dried cranberries and cherries set beautiful accents, but there is also plenty of room for the equally beautiful aromas of liquorice, campfire ash and candied orange peel that play such a deft supporting role. On the palate, it is a brilliant, polished wine with enough tannin to allow it to mature in the cellar for another 10 or 20 years. SUPERIORE.DE

![Barolo Cerretta DOCG 2020]()
Barolo Cerretta DOCG 2020
Cerretta is one of the most prestigious crus of Serralunga d'Alba – a site that Giovanni Rosso has always cultivated with particular dedication. Here, at an altitude of around 350 metres, barren, chalky marl soils meet south and south-east exposure. The result is Barolo with impressive depth, carried by a striking minerality that is recognisable even at a young age. The 2020 vintage brought harmonious ripeness and perfect phenolic development. After being harvested by hand, the grapes were gently pressed and fermented in concrete tanks for around 25 days. The wine was then matured for a good two years in large oak barrels, which emphasise the character of the vineyard without over-moulding it.

![Barolo Serra DOCG 2020]()
Barolo Serra DOCG 2020
The Serra site is located in the heart of Serralunga d'Alba, in the direct neighbourhood of some of the most renowned cru parcels in the municipality. At an altitude of around 360 metres and with a predominantly south-westerly exposure, the vines benefit from optimal sunshine in the afternoon, while the cool downdraughts at night ensure delayed, even ripening. The subsoil of calcareous marl with sandy inclusions gives the wines from the Serra vineyard their fine, almost silky texture. The 2020 vintage showed its balanced side: a moderate summer, a long growing season and a stable autumn ensured flawless grapes with perfect phenolic ripeness. After careful manual harvesting and selection, the grapes were gently pressed and fermented in concrete for a good three weeks. The wine then matured for two years in large oak barrels to preserve its elegance and terroir fidelity.

Powerful wines with a velvety structure and elegance are the hallmark of the Piedmontese family business Giovanni Rosso. Located in the well-known municipality of Serralunga d'Alba, the Rosso family has been cultivating its vineyards since the 1890s.
Until the estate's namesake, Giovanni Rosso, decided to press his own wines in 1995, the estate had been exclusively dedicated to selling grapes for a century. Today's success story really got rolling when Giovanni's son Davide joined the company as head Oenologist in 2011. The then 21-year-old had previously studied in Burgundy and worked there at prestigious wineries such as Domaine Jean Grivot and Domaine Denis Mortet. There he learnt above all how to produce quality wines that express the historical winegrowing tradition and the unique growing region in the glass.
In his own winery, Davide has defined his current guiding principle over the years: "Every wine must be the perfect copy of its terroir". It is not without reason that the Rosso family has owned some of the most sought-after vineyards in the Langhe for many years, such as Serra, Broglio, Damiano, Cerretta, Lirano, Meriame, Costa Bella and Sorano. Davide also cultivates a parcel of 80-year-old vines in the unique Vignarionda vineyard, whose Barolo wines have earned Giovanni Rosso international recognition.
The Nebbiolo, Barbera and Arneis grapes are cultivated in an environmentally friendly way and without any chemicals. Davide attaches great importance to a low yield and never harvests more than he could in favour of quality. After the manual harvest, the grapes are fermented in the wine cellar and then matured for several months in 50-hectolitre French oak barrels according to traditional guidelines.
In addition to Piedmontese classics such as Barbera d'Alba, Nebbiolo Langhe and an aromatic Roero Arneis, the winery also produces an award-winning selection of dense and impressively complex Barolo wines for the passionate wine geeks among us. Davide is now also proving his talent as a winemaker in southern Italy. In Sicily, he has been producing wonderfully exciting volcanic wines under the same name in the province of Catania since 2016.
The name Giovanni Rosso is therefore a real promise of quality. And if you want to find the Piedmont region in your wine glass, this range is undoubtedly the right place for you. SUPERIORE.DE
