“Rosa di Ceparano” Rosato Ravenna IGT 2022 (BIO)
Delicate pale pink with reflections of onion skin. Fruity bouquet of pomegranate, white pepper, wisteria and peach. Firm, fresh palate with aromas of cherry, raspberry and citrus, then fresh spice with hints of minerals and lime peel as the drink continues. A fascinating and complex rosato that is very refreshing and distinct. SUPERIORE.DE
"Salmon colour. In the nose after cherries and pomegranate, in the reverberation spicy after white pepper and slightly floral. Fresh and juicy on the palate, well balanced, with a slight tannic rip and a medium-long final." Falstaff
"The 2022 Rosa di Ceparano is fragrant and delicate in the glass, with aromas of young peach, wild strawberries and sweet smoke. On the palate, it is round and smooth. Ripe apple and melon notes are supported by a core of chalky acidity. The finish is powerful and long, but still relatively fresh, leaving slightly zesty notes of citrus and mineral." Vinous

“Torre di Ceparano” Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore Riserva DOC 2017
Clear, bright ruby, the nose has the scent of red fruits, freshly cut herbs and fine wood spice. Harmonious and balanced on the palate, medium-bodied and very relaxed in its acidity and tannin components. Perfect with not too heavy, Mediterranean meat and vegetable dishes. SUPERIORE.DE
"Aromas of crushed mint mingle with scorched earth and new leather. The straightforward, elegantly structured palate shows dried cherry, menthol and star anise interplaying with taut, fine-grained tannins. It closes on a note of coffee beans." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2017 Sangiovese Superiore Riserva Romagna Torre di Ceparano opens slowly, dusty and floral, with hints of dried black cherry and exotic spice that grow in volume with each swirl of the glass. This is elegant and silky throughout, coasting ripe red and black fruits across a saline-mineral core as vibrant acidity provides a lovely fresh impression. Its tannins come forward through the finale, pinching at the cheeks, and yet the mouth is left watering for more as licorice and sour citrus nuances fade. Give the Torre di Ceparano another year of cellaring to settle down a bit; it will be worth the wait. This is mostly Sangiovese with a splash of Merlot." Vinous

“Pietramora” Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore Riserva DOC 2016
Great Riserva from Romagna, which clearly shows what high Sangiovese quality is possible in this area. The grapes come from vines over 25 years old from soils with weathered red clay and deliver a powerful wine with a territorial fingerprint and great finesse. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep, rich ruby with garnet. Ripe wild berries and cherries on the nose, delicate leather spice, harmonious. Very dense and compact on the palate, multi-layered, builds up big, massive with lots of pressure, substantial and long." Falstaff
"Cristina Geminiani is one of the leading figures behind the revival of Romagna DOC. In 1985 she started to make wine on her grandfather’s property, Fattoria Zerbina. Her wines have personality and technical precision. The vineyards are planted as bush vines in the subzone of Marzeno. Pietramora has an elegant, restrained nose of dark plums, black cherry, dried roses, cacao, and tobacco. On the palate, rich and intense fruit with grippy tannins is balanced by savoury acidity, with a persistent, spicy finish." Decanter

“Marzieno” Rosso Ravenna IGT 2017
Marzieno presents itself as a complex and fresh Sangiovese with small portions of Cabernet and Merlot that give it depth. In its dynamic taste with a long finish, it relies above all on the substance of its abundant, elegant tannins and a very serious fruit. SUPERIORE.DE

“Monografia 2” Sangiovese di Romagna Marzeno Riserva DOC 2017
Here comes the second vintage of Zerbina's single-vineyard Sangiovese, with which the winery once again proves in a very small edition (< 1,000 bottles) once again proves what great Sangiovese Romagna can produce. Dark-fruited, full nose with a cornucopia of dark berry fruits and hints of forest floor, tar and white ash. Firm on the palate, enormously complex, the concentrated fruit gradually opens up with further airing and a Sangiovese work of art is revealed that could not be more typical, pure and at the same time more complex. Great compliment! SUPERIORE.DE
"Hedonist factor max. Mid to deep ruby. A super-enticing nose of chalky, concentrated cherry and damson fruit dabbed with sweet oak notes and with the merest suggestion of rosemary and cinnamon. The tannins add the fireworks. They are simply perfect, gravelly and ripe. Long, lush and finely balanced, this will age gracefully but I caught it at just this irresistible stage. A wine that makes you happy. The generous character of this vintage shines through in the ripe fruit, but it will be rewarding to see this age." Jancis Robinson
"Dark, elegant ruby red, brightening rim. Complex, inviting nose of fine noble wood, then ripe cherries, wild strawberries, also a hint of dried red petals, light leather and cedar in the finish. Tightly meshed and compact on the palate, opens with a juicy undertone, lovely elegant red fruit, currently still a little marked by the wood, will come together magnificently, long." Falstaff

The success story of Emilia-Romagna is marked by a common thread: thanks to her conscientiousness and meticulousness, Cristina Geminiani has become a wine producer who, more than other winegrowers in the region, embodies these important characteristics. The owner of the estate, who values time, dedication, competence and courage very much, recognized the great potential of winegrowing in Romagna early on and at a time when only a few believed in success. The Fattoria Zerbina, run by her and her brother Vincenzo, is situated on the slopes of the Tuscan-Emilian Appenine in the municipality of Marzeno, in the valley of the river of the same name, just a few kilometres from Faenza. Under the leadership of its passionate brothers and sisters, the company has undoubtedly developed over the years into a top producer with a clear identity.
While Vincenzo is mainly concerned with business matters, Cristina, who holds a doctorate in agronomy, often travels on the weathered red clay soils of the vineyards newly planted since 1990. Their work at Fattoria Zerbina shows that on the hills of Faenza not only Sangiovese can produce outstanding powerful and elegant wines, but also Albana for wines with noble rot and Ancelotta as a minor addition can enrich the assortment of the house.
The fact that the siblings sometimes take unconventional paths can be seen, for example, in the fact that they planted the vineyard Il Pozzo with single vines, not in trellis but in small trees. The greatest advantage of this traditional form of education is the openness of the vine to all sides. Dessert wines are a speciality of the Romagna winery. One or the other Passito can be found again and again at tastings on the top ranks. The drops of the Fattoria Zerbina convince by an excellent price enjoyment ratio.
As far as the cellar is concerned, the Fattoria Zerbina hardly has anything particularly modern or even revolutionary to offer. The best grapes ferment partly in very large steel tanks, which allows a better, but at the same time gentle and gentle extraction of the tannins. Fermentation is also carried out in the traditional steel tank, using the technique of draining (Délestage). The owners of the estate are also convinced that cement tanks are particularly suitable for blending and refining the wines before bottling. Since 2003, selected batches of red wine have been fermented directly in barriques with manual undercutting and without temperature control. The aim is to express the specificity of the grapes and soils even better than in previous years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Vineyards in full bloom and a conscientious work on the vine and in the winery produce wines that are always among the top wines in the region in terms of quality, and which are rigorous and powerful, so to speak voluminous and always supported by a beautiful freshness due to the stylistic choices and the vocation of the region."Gambero Rosso
