“TM” Rosé Toscana IGT 2022
Pale old pink, apricot, yellow fruit and pink grapefruit on the nose. Delicate and fresh with a gentle structure that makes this impressively elegant rosato made predominantly from Merlot the perfect companion to mild Mediterranean dishes and seafood. Most rosés from Provence cannot compete with this. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, clear salmon pink. Opens on wild herbs on the nose, followed by subtle cherry fruit. Very direct and linear on the palate, with lively acidity, juicy and a touch of saltiness into the medium length finish." Falstaff
"Frozen raspberries, rusk and sweet spices on the nose, followed by a medium body with a saline character that develops on the palate and mineral, juicy finish. Drink now." James Suckling

“Monteti” Rosso Toscana IGT 2017
Rich, deep dark ruby. Compact and appealing nose, shows crisp fruit, especially blackcurrants and mulberries, underpinned by fine chocolate tones. Also very appealing on the palate, ripe, fresh fruit, opens with firm, tightly woven tannin, develops rich pressure, then juicy and long-lasting on the final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby with a fine violet shimmer. Very clear and memorable nose, full of elderberries and blackcurrants, some roses, fragrant and inviting. Grippy, firm tannin on the palate, lots of tobacco, then opens up with fine fruit notes, very long finish, fine melting." Falstaff
"The 2017 Monteti is redolent of dark cherry, chocolate, spice, leather, tobacco and grilled herbs. This brooding, potent Maremma red packs a serious punch, despite its mid-weight personality. There is a bit of burliness in the tannins, but otherwise, this is nicely done." Vinous

The wines are a clear expression of their terroir, balanced and without any showmanship. With the Tenuta Monteti, the couple Paolo and Gemma Baratta fulfilled a long-cherished dream shortly before the turn of the millennium. The 60 hectare property is located in the Maremma about 15 kilometres from the sea south of Capalbio in the province of Grosseto on the Monteti hill. In their daily work the landowners are supported by their daughter Eva and her husband Javier Pedrazzini with great competence.
The vineyards of Tenuta Monteti, which are 145 metres high on average, consist of four contiguous parts, which are planted with 6,600 vines per hectare in south- and south-west exposure. There grow and prosper in 28 plots with Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Alicante-Bouschet and Merlot exclusively red varieties. The stony soils have an appropriate clay content that preserves moisture. They are fertilized organically in winter. An own weather station provides the Baratta family with important meteorological data.
In the modern cellar, designed by the architect Sergio Bracco, the wines are produced according to the own vinification and ageing methods, which are subject to continuous refinement. The laws of gravity prevail and the use of pumps is avoided. Since autochthonous yeasts are used in alcoholic fermentation, the grapes have been subjected to spontaneous fermentation since 2007. The berries are first processed separately in wood - partly also in steel - before they are later brought together in the cuvées. The proportion of sulphites in the cellar is kept low. Christian Coco - the oenologist is advised by none other than Carlo Ferrini - is very sensitive and cautious when it comes to the use of wood in the production of the plants. Already the first vintage in 2004 delivered surprisingly good results from the then still young vines.
Tenuta Monteti produces two wines of great quality and personality. The Monteti, the estate's flagship, consists of 40 to 50% Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Caburnio is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50 to 60%), Alicante-Bouschet and Merlot. Both complex and elegant plants of Tenuta Monteti have a similar style, but are subject to different vinification and maturation processes. SUPERIORE.DE
