Ruby red colour, appealing, slightly reductive aroma of ripe blackberries and elderberries, quite dense on the palate, some fruit sweetness, good harmony between acidity and tannin, traces of cassis in the elegant finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich ruby red with a black core. Discreet aromas of prunes, dates, some rum, malt coffee and tangerine peel. Opens juicy with fine fruity nuances, medium-bodied, tightly meshed youthful tannins, lively on the palate, persistent." Falstaff
"The 2019 Nero d'Avola Lamùri is remarkably pretty, presenting a dusty display of crushed violet candies and blackberries contrasted by hints of smoke and white pepper. It’s silky in texture and quite elegant, washing across the palate with pure black and hints of blue fruits, while gaining a more tactile feel toward the close as hints of sweet tannins slowly saturate. Notes of salted licorice linger, giving way to a subtle twang of spiced citrus as this tapers off lightly structured." Vinous

The Tasca Conti d'Almerita 2019 Sicilia Nero d’Avola Lamùri Tenuta Regaleali offers plenty of dark fruit intensity and toasted pistachio nut, wild fennel and scorched earth. “Buonora” Bianco Etna DOC 2020
Scent of lemon, white blossoms and quarry. It makes you want more. The southern drop from Etna does not disappoint in the mouth either. A lively acidity and a long mineral finish make this white a perfect food companion. Structure, elegance and pure white class from Etna. SUPERIORE.DE
"Delicately shimmering pale yellow with a silver touch. Aroma of fresh lime zest, crisp green apple, lemon balm blossom in the background. Juicy, shows perky play, taut, shows itself quite light in weight, brisk in the drink, lots of tension in the finish, ends on salt lemon." Falstaff
"Flinty, floral and wickedly fresh, the 2020 Etna Bianco Buonora shows dusty dried flowers, incense, ginger and a balancing note of raw honey. It's soft-textured and pliant, balanced by an almost salty savoriness, as orchard fruits and herbal tones wash across the palate. Hints of crushed almond and pear linger through the mouthwatering finale as this remarkably pretty Carricante tapers off with tension. A pretty wine and a great value as well." Vinous
"Aromas of apricots, crushed stones, waxed lemon, grapefruit and floral tea. It's medium-bodied with bright acidity. Juicy and deliciously layered. Fruit and citrus evolve to mineral and saline notes. So fresh." James Suckling
"Boasting handsome forest-green packaging, the Tenuta Tascante 2020 Etna Bianco Buonora reveals a lean, almost transparent appearance with a dim spot of golden sunlight. The wine puts big emphasis on its mineral side with gorgeous definition and sharp tones of crushed oyster shell and aspirin, followed by faintly fruity and citrusy tones. In fact, more than fruit, the bouquet veers toward white flowers and jasmine, with a hint of white pepper. I love this minimalist, elegant style from Etna, and it should be interesting to see how this fleshes out with time. At the moment, it would make a great aperitivo with delicate crab cakes." “Nozze d’Oro” Bianco Sicilia DOC 2019
In 1984, Count Giuseppe Tasca d'Almerita wanted to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary with his wife Franca by creating a wine that told the family story and at the same time the story of the Tenuta. The uniqueness of the grape composition shows his romantic spirit: Inzolia and Sauvignon of the Tasca selection, the selection of a vineyard in Regaleali that dates back to the end of the First World War. The use of selected yeasts from the estate's own vineyards links this wine even more inextricably to the terroir from which it comes. Fresh in its youth, the wine is unexpectedly age-worthy, balancing its tertiary aromas with the intensity of the fruit.
Rich straw yellow with a hauntingfloral bouquet, plus notes of peach, exotic fruits and saffron. Then the harmonious taste, whose delightful substance is carried by a perfect acidity with a fine saline vein. SUPERIORE.DE

The wine pours forth to a medium ruby color and a lean consistency from a cool and humid vintage. “Vigne di Paola” Malvasia Salina IGT 2020
The name of this fresh and aromatic Malvasia is dedicated to the former owner Paola Lantieri, who cultivated the 4.5 ha vineyard with great dedication. The vines grow on mineral soils of ash, fine brown sand, pumice and silicates.
On the fresh bouquet, spicy yellow flowers, lime zest, nectarines and crushed stones. In the drink we find an attractive bouquet of ripe orchard fruits, tropical citrus fruits and a cooling minerality. The long and very delicious final is accompanied by kiwi and sage - very successful! SUPERIORE.DE
"Fresh lemon, white pear, citrus blossom and sea salt on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with fresh acidity and saline undertones. Clean and focused." James Suckling
"This dry white has enticing aromas of white spring flowers, citrus and white yellow stone fruit. Made with Malvasia and grown on the island of Vulcano, the crisp, savory palate offers ripe apricot, pear, lemon and Mediterranean herbs. It closes on a tangy saline note." Wine Enthusiast
"This is the second of two dry Malvasia wines made by the Tasca family on the island of Salina. The Tenuta Capofaro 2020 Malvasia Vigna di Paola is the more "Aeolian" of the two, with aromas and flavors that are all directly linked to the wide blue sea that surrounds these beautiful islands. In the case of this wine, fruit is sourced from a 4.5-hectare plot heavy in pumice stone and sandy soils with tufa and sulfur. As a result, expect Vigna di Paola to show greater precision, sharpness and cool mineral freshness. This is an exciting new addition to this portfolio." Robert Parker
"The 2020 Malvasia Vigna di Paola mixes exotic florals and tropical fruits with a whiff of crushed stone to create a seductive bouquet. It’s round and almost glycerol-like in texture, lifted by bright acidity and an initial burst of lime before giving way to notes of ripe mango, peach and almond. For all of its richness, this tapers off remarkably fresh and literally buzzing with residual energy, as a sweet-and-sour display of citrus gives way to a hint of custard. Simply stunning. Enjoyable as it is today, the Vigna di Paola should also excel over medium-term cellaring." Vinous

“Didyme” Malvasia Salina IGT 2020
Didyme, named after the ancient name of the island of Salina, is a single-varietal Malvasia. Light straw yellow. Bouquet of herbs, bright flowers, apple and some nutmeg. Juicy fruit, carried by a nice, fresh acidity, a mineral-salty note in the powerful finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"A pure expression of Malvasia, the Tenuta Capofaro 2020 Malvasia Didyme is the more "Sicilian" of these two dry expressions of the grape made by the Tasca family. By that I mean the wine is more exuberant and Baroque in personality with lifted aromas of sweet orange blossom, candied fruit and a touch of wild sage or salty sea breeze." Robert Parker
"Aromas of elderflower, citrus and yellow stone fruit mingle with a whiff of wet rock. Reflecting the nose, the tangy palate offers grapefruit, ripe apricot and saline alongside fresh acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"Pungently fresh wild flowers and ginger lift up from the 2020 Malvasia Didyme, nicely contrasted by an enriching note of brown spice. This is silky and enveloping, matched by a pleasant inner sweetness yet still completely fresh and balanced, with ripe orchard fruits and minerals giving way to pretty inner florals. There’s a lingering salty element mingling with the tropical citrus notes that resonate through the finale, and this keeps me coming back to the glass again and again. The 2020 is a beautiful rendition of Didyme." Vinous
"Aromas of apples, lemons, beeswax, thyme, white pepper and acacia honey. It’s medium-to full-bodied with fresh acidity. Layered, mineral and complex. Flavorful and long." James Suckling

“Mozia” Grillo Sicilia DOC 2020
The small, museum-like island of Mozia in the Marsala lagoon is a production site of unparalleled uniqueness. It is a marine ecosystem that has always been linked to the vineyard. The English, who came to Marsala at the beginning of the 19th century and sensed the great potential there, initiated the first planting. The vines are raised naturally according to the Gobelet system with natural irrigation. The grapes are harvested in crates, brought to the mainland in shallow boats and then reach the Regaleali winery in air-conditioned trucks to guarantee their aromatic integrity.
Since 2007, when the Tasca family was entrusted by the Whitaker Foundation with the implementation of a project to promote and revitalise historic Grillo vineyards, they have been taking care of 12 hectares of vines on Mozia. From here comes arguably the best Grillo in Sicily, unparalleled in concentration and razor-sharp precision.
Light straw yellow. Enticing, very refined aromas of nectarine, yellow flowers, lime and mint herbs. Then fresh, juicy and dense, with wonderful clarity and the flavour of aromas such as pome fruit and white stone fruit and a lively, harmonious acidity. Its impressive finish is long and mineral. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliantly luminous greenish yellow. Opens cautiously on notes of white peach, lychee and yellow flowers, a hint of nutmeg. Refreshing palate entry with dancing acidity, clear, straightforward, yellow fruits set the tone, fine saltiness." Falstaff
"The 2020 Grillo Mozia lifts up to reveal honeyed florals and freshly sliced green melon. This is silky and pliant, ripe yet packed full of zesty acids and citrus tones that keep the experience fresh. An almondy richness lingers, creating lovely contrasts, as it tapers off with an air of exotic inner florals. Very nice." Vinous
"Hawthorn, citrus, white stone fruit and an inviting whiff of pastry dough form the nose. Savory and boasting a polished texture, the vibrant palate features Meyer lemon, white peach and yellow apple alongside a briny mineral note. Crisp acidity keeps it energized and balanced." Wine Enthusiast
"Grapefruit, papaya, pear, cantaloupe melon and herbs on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with fresh acidity and a creamy, juicy and fruity palate. Concentrated and delicious." James Suckling
"Winemaking on the tiny Phoenician island of Mozia is guided by the Tasca family and the Whitaker Foundation. Their 2020 Sicilia Grillo Mozia Fondazione Whitaker shows some additional fruit weight and concentration in this vintage, with lots of peach, honey and stone fruit. The vineyards are located on a tiny island with salt flats nearby, and the influence of both - the sea and the salt - play heavily on the wine's playlist." Robert Parker

Since 2007, when the Tasca family was entrusted by the Whitaker Foundation with the implementation of a project for the promotion and revitalisation of historic Grillo vineyards, they have taken care of 12 hectares of vines on Mozia.
“Capofaro” Bianco Salina IGT 2019 dolce · 0,5l in Gift Box
The harvested Malvasia grapes stay for a few weeks under good ventilation in shady drying chambers. Without humidity and hot sun, the grapes dry slowly and thus retain their acidity and very moderate alcohol levels. Capofaro is an impressive dessert wine that comes from vines that once belonged to the late winemaker Carlo Hauner, who made Malvasia from the island of Salina famous.
Bright golden yellow. A warm bouquet of orange blossom, candied orange peel and flowers underpinned by bright, salty notes. Very tightly packed and tightly wound, it displays a lush mouthfeel and an enticing sweetness that is nicely offset by a penetrating acidity. The finish is creamy and long, with notes of botrytis and reminiscent of tropical fruit nectar. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium dense bright golden yellow with lemon yellow accents. Opens on the nose to delicate spruce shoots, blossom honey and nutmeg, also discreetly of dried mango. Lively on the palate, showing nice tension with crisp acidity, subtle spice notes paired with exotic fruit, very layered, comes back juicy on the final." Falstaff
"Crisp, dry and thoroughly delicious, this fragrant white from the island of Salina opens with heady scents of yellow stone fruit, citrus, white rose and Mediterranean brush. Tangy and vibrant, the savory palate doles out yellow peach, apricot, Meyer lemon and briny notes of saline." Wine Enthusiast
"This is always such a fun and cheerful wine to enjoy at the end of an outdoor meal with an evening seascape somewhere in the distance. The Tenuta Capofaro 2019 Tenuta Capofaro (in a 500-milliliter bottle) is made with air-dried fruit (the appassimento process takes place on the island of Salina in a special fruttaio room for air-drying with controlled temperatures, but the Tasca team makes this wine at their home-base winery on Sicily; for that reason, this wine is identified with the IGT Salina appellation). As you might expect, winemaking is impeccable, and the aromas are clear and concise with fresh peach, minty apple and Sicilian night-blooming jasmine. The wine is full and elegant but graceful all the while with a crisp and polished mouthfeel." Robert Parker

“Il Tascante” Nerello Mascalese Sicilia IGT 2014
Il Tascante Nerello Mascalese wonderfully embodies the weightless elegance and depth of the Etna terroir. Distinctive floral and mineral notes and an expressive fruit in great harmony. SUPERIORE.DE
"Red plums, blueberry tea, lavender and sour cherries introduce the nose here. Medium body, fine tannins and a fruity finish." James Suckling
"Enticing scents of blue flower, rose, wild berry and Mediterranean herb aromas take shape in the glass. On the elegantly structured palate, bright acidity accompanies raspberry compote, juicy cherry and star anise alongside firm polished tannins. A flinty mineral note lingers on the close." Wine Enthusiast
"Tascante's 2014 Sicilia Nerello Mascalese Il Tascante offers two distinct sides. On the one hand, it shows a lighthearted and delicate approach with wild berry, cassis and rose petal. On the other hand, the wine extends far beyond primary aromas to offer more complex layers of cola, brimstone and pencil shaving. There are light layers of balsam spice and leather as well. The finish closes with firm astringency that could use another year of bottle aging." Robert Parker

“Vigna San Francesco” Chardonnay Sicilia DOC 2019
Intense golden yellow, on the nose notes of banana, pineapple, candied fruits and a hint of vanilla, cinnamon and white chocolate. Fruity on the palate, very rich and dense with a balanced acidity structure, tones of ripe fruit in the finish. A wonderful Sicilian Chardonnay that perfectly combines the refinement of the international grape variety with the charm of the Mediterranean climate. SUPERIORE.DE

The historical development of Sicily as an important wine region is inseparable from Tasca d'Almerita connected. For many years, the wines of the Tasca family vineyard, founded in the first half of the 19th century in the heart of the island, just 90 kilometres southeast of Palermo in the tiny municipality of Sclafani Bagni, have been among the great classics. Winegrowing on the island has not only been decisively influenced by the famous and tradition-conscious wine dynasty, but has also been advanced with great foresight. The crescences of the magnificent Regaleali winery, through whose gardens the composer and playwright Richard Wagner already walked, are simply magnificent. The drops exported to four continents from the house of Tasca d'Almerita can undoubtedly compete with other prominent names on the domestic and international wine scene.
The company, which has Gambero Rossobeen named Winery of the Year in 2012 and has almost 500 hectares of vines, is managed by Lucio Tasca d'Almerita as well as his sons Giuseppe and Alberto, who also work with great intuition and energy. It was thanks to Ignazio Miceli, Head of Marketing, that the wines of the most beautiful winery on the island became famous all over the world. For example, the magnificent Rosso del Conte, introduced in 1970, has set new standards for Sicilian red wines. This top-quality wine was also one of the first wines from the Leopard Island to conquer the American market. The synergies between the Tasca family, Miceli and the Palermo-born founder and chairman of the US importer Winebow Group, Leonardo LoCascio, led to Sicily's top crops shining brightly beyond the country's borders.
In addition to its headquarters, the Tenuta di Regaleali, the Azienda Tasca d'Almerita with the goods Tascante (Etna region), Whitaker (joint venture on the west coast), Sallier de La Tour (northwest) and Capofaro (Aeolian island of Salina) via four further production sites. The wine house, always characterised by good ideas and careful research, and advised by the prominent oenologist Carlo Ferrini, deserves the credit for producing not only autochthonous grape varieties but also some great Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines, which convincingly reflect the typical character of Sicily. The family, which since the turn of the millennium, with the arrival of the winemaker from Tuscany, had preferred local varieties more than ever, had made the first clone selections in their vineyards and had already planted international varieties before all the other winegrowing companies on the island. "The only property on the island that deserves to be compared to a large Bordeaux château is the house of Count Tasca ... The average quality of the range of labels is remarkable."Gambero Rosso
The Tasca d'Almerita winery is one of the 24 wineries worldwide to be awarded the "Robert Parker Green Emblem" in 2021. This certification is awarded by one of the most important international wine critics' media: Robert Parker's "Wine Advocate".
This rare distinction is only awarded to producers who are committed to sustainability, long-term environmental protection and biodiversity. Once a winery has received the award, all of its wines will bear the coveted "Robert Parker Green Emblem". SUPERIORE.DE
"Alberto Tasca d'Almerita created SOStain and is president of the foundation today with other like-minded Sicilian vintners who serve on the board of directors. Alberto was one of the first Italian producers to embrace the VIVA Sustainable Wine project developed by the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea to promote better winegrowing practices."
