Light yellow with green reflections. On the nose, orange zest, meadow flowers and notes of melon and herbs. Fresh and light on the palate, again fruity, joined by a fine almond note. A classic for light Mediterranean cuisine and warm summer evenings. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Inzolia is sweetly scented but also finessed and floral, with a dusting of confectioners’ sugar and spice that gives way to ripe pear and hints of cardamom. This rushes the palate with soft textures, yet quickly takes on a reverberation of spicy green citrus, as nuances of tropical melon form toward the close. A salty flourish defines the finale, as the 2021 tapers off wickedly fresh and squeaky-clean, while leaving the mouth watering for more." Vinous
"This has aromas of waxed lemons, jasmine, white tea and apricot stones. Light to medium body with bright acidity and a waxy, lemony palate. Crisp and very fresh." James Suckling

Scent of lemon, white blossoms and quarry. It makes you want more. The southern drop from Etna does not disappoint in the mouth either. A lively acidity and a long mineral finish make this white a perfect food companion. Structure, elegance and pure white class from Etna. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Etna Bianco Buonora is nuanced and savory in the glass, impressing with a mix of yellow apple, dried florals, hints of raw almond and smoke. “Nozze d’Oro” Bianco Sicilia DOC 2019
In 1984, Count Giuseppe Tasca d'Almerita wanted to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary with his wife Franca by creating a wine that told the family story and at the same time the story of the Tenuta. The uniqueness of the grape composition shows his romantic spirit: Inzolia and Sauvignon of the Tasca selection, the selection of a vineyard in Regaleali that dates back to the end of the First World War. The use of selected yeasts from the estate's own vineyards links this wine even more inextricably to the terroir from which it comes. Fresh in its youth, the wine is unexpectedly age-worthy, balancing its tertiary aromas with the intensity of the fruit.
Rich straw yellow with a hauntingfloral bouquet, plus notes of peach, exotic fruits and saffron. Then the harmonious taste, whose delightful substance is carried by a perfect acidity with a fine saline vein. SUPERIORE.DE
"Nozze d'Oro was at the vanguard of Sicilian innovation when it was first created in 1984, and it's still a beacon of quality for the island. A blend of Inzolia and Sauvignon Tasca - a unique biotype of Sauvignon Blanc - grown at over 500 metres on the Regaleali estate in northern-central Sicily, this unoaked white has an initial waxy, lanolin character which opens up to reveal intense yellow plum, tropical fruits, a buttery mid-palate and a stony, spicy finish with plenty of fresh acidity." “Capofaro” Bianco Salina IGT 2019 dolce · 0,5l in gift box
The harvested Malvasia grapes stay for a few weeks under good ventilation in shady drying chambers. Without humidity and hot sun, the grapes dry slowly and thus retain their acidity and very moderate alcohol levels. Capofaro is an impressive dessert wine that comes from vines that once belonged to the late winemaker Carlo Hauner, who made Malvasia from the island of Salina famous.
Bright golden yellow. A warm bouquet of orange blossom, candied orange peel and flowers underpinned by bright, salty notes. Very tightly packed and tightly wound, it displays a lush mouthfeel and an enticing sweetness that is nicely offset by a penetrating acidity. The finish is creamy and long, with notes of botrytis and reminiscent of tropical fruit nectar. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium dense bright golden yellow with lemon yellow accents. Opens on the nose to delicate spruce shoots, blossom honey and nutmeg, also discreetly of dried mango. Lively on the palate, showing nice tension with crisp acidity, subtle spice notes paired with exotic fruit, very layered, comes back juicy on the final." Falstaff
"The finely chiselled bouquet of the steel-aged Passito combines notes of dried apricots with peach and citrus fruit aromas, delicately spicy; polished in the mouth, perfectly balanced between the acidity and the sweetness, elegant and long. A pleasure with pasticceria or on its own." Vinum
"Crisp, dry and thoroughly delicious, this fragrant white from the island of Salina opens with heady scents of yellow stone fruit, citrus, white rose and Mediterranean brush. Tangy and vibrant, the savory palate doles out yellow peach, apricot, Meyer lemon and briny notes of saline." Wine Enthusiast
"This is always such a fun and cheerful wine to enjoy at the end of an outdoor meal with an evening seascape somewhere in the distance. The Tenuta Capofaro 2019 Tenuta Capofaro (in a 500-milliliter bottle) is made with air-dried fruit (the appassimento process takes place on the island of Salina in a special fruttaio room for air-drying with controlled temperatures, but the Tasca team makes this wine at their home-base winery on Sicily; for that reason, this wine is identified with the IGT Salina appellation). As you might expect, winemaking is impeccable, and the aromas are clear and concise with fresh peach, minty apple and Sicilian night-blooming jasmine. The wine is full and elegant but graceful all the while with a crisp and polished mouthfeel." Robert Parker

“Vigna S. Francesco” Cabernet Sauvignon Sicilia DOC 2018
A wonderfully concentrated and elegant wine that is already drinking excellently. On the nose, the typical varietal bouquet with light balsamic notes. Pleasantly straight and fine on the palate, silky and full of harmony. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Vigna San Francesco is dusty and floral in character, with peppery herbs and wildflowers giving way to masses of crushed raspberry. This is silky and refined, communicating pure elegance from the start, with a wave of ripe red and black berries that wash across the palate, leaving fine-grained tannins to linger under an air of sweet violet and rose tones. It tapers off much fresher than anticipated, and also only lightly structured, as nuances of blueberry skin linger, along with a hint of balsam herbs." Vinous

“Vigna San Francesco” Chardonnay Sicilia DOC 2019
Intense golden yellow, on the nose notes of banana, pineapple, candied fruits and a hint of vanilla, cinnamon and white chocolate. Fruity on the palate, very rich and dense with a balanced acidity structure, tones of ripe fruit in the finish. A wonderful Sicilian Chardonnay that perfectly combines the refinement of the international grape variety with the charm of the Mediterranean climate. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Chardonnay Vigna San Francesco is luxuriously rich while painting within the lines of refinement, as gingery spice, crushed oyster shells, Italian buttercream and citrus-tinged pear form its seductive bouquet. This communicates a sense of opulence, but also harmony on the palate, casting silky, medium-weight textures across the senses, with mineral-tinged orchard fruits and pretty inner florals that cascade throughout. There’s a sweet and sour interplay that lingers through the finale, as zesty green citrus and hints of Granny Smith apple slowly fade. There is simply so much pleasure to be had from this immaculately balanced Sicilian Chardonnay." Vinous

“Rosso del Conte” Sicilia Contea di Sclafani DOC 2015
Ruby red, with a fine cherry scent, in which there are also hints of nuts and wild berries, vanilla, cinnamon, sage and tobacco. Concentrated, rich flavour with harmonious tannins and a long, velvety final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, sparkling ruby with a slight violet shimmer. Multi-layered nose, rich notes of ripe plums, some blueberries, cedar and resin in the background. Juicy and round on the palate, spreads out with powerful, well-integrated tannin, describes a wide arc, firm pressure, long and firm." Falstaff
"Deep crimson. Deep, minty nose with cardamom pod, dark fruit and black-pepper notes and hints of dark earth. I suspect this was aged in chestnut casks. With aeration, increasingly multilayered and growing in stature. Hedonistic dark fruit and finely chiselled tannins on the palate. Very long, generous and complex, but in order for this wine to show its real potential I would put it away for at least five yeas. You don't immediately see it but the bottle has a beautiful shape." Jancis Robinson
"Scorched soil, leather, mature black-skinned fruit and Mediterranean scrub are just some of the aromas you'll find on this blend of Nero d'Avola and Perricone. The enveloping, full-bodied palate delivers ripe blackberry, black cherry, black spice and dried herb alongside firm, fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"Good dark red. Ripe, vibrant nose offers kirsch, coffee, chocolate and a whiff of black pepper. At once silky-sweet and tangy, with lovely inner-mouth perfume to the fine-grained red/black fruit flavors. Finishes broad, very smooth and long, with harmonious acidity and ripe tannins giving the wine solid structure for aging. A powerful but already approachable red that will have many fans." Vinous
"Complex and decadent aromas of dark berries, walnuts, licorice, and tar follow through to a full body with rich and ripe fruit and a soft and lightly velvety finish." James Suckling
"This is an iconic Sicilian red that celebrates its 40th anniversary with this handsomely styled bottle. The 2015 Sicilia Contea di Sclafani Rosso del Conte Tenuta Regaleali definitely delivers the goods, but it also delivers a few surprises along the way. There's a lot going on in terms of aromas with softly ripened fruit that is plush and succulent. With a good amount of clarity I might add, you also get varietally true aromas of olive, anise and toasted Bronte pistachio. At the tail end, there is a meaty or savory tone of smoked pancetta or cured ham. The wine shows beautiful intensity and depth with textural richness and integrated tannins." Robert Parker

“Rosso del Conte” Sicilia Contea di Sclafani DOC 2016
Ruby red, with a fine cherry scent, in which there are also hints of nuts and wild berries, vanilla, cinnamon, sage and tobacco. Concentrated, rich flavour with harmonious tannins and a long, velvety final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, elegant ruby red. Restrained but balanced nose, appears multilayered although filigree. On the palate very juicy, dense, with clear fruit and tightly meshed enveloping tannin, shows elegant pressure, builds up in many layers, great length and finesse." Falstaff
"Deep crimson ruby. A lifted, perfumed raspberry nose with beautiful concentration, a peppery tingle and perfectly integrated oak. Vibrant, crushed red-berry fruit on the palate with long, finely chiselled tannins. Closes up a little on the finish, so expect much more to come, but right now it is already irresistible. Great balance and very elegant." Jancis Robinson
"This historic wine was Sicily's first single-vineyard bottling, from a five-hectare vineyard planted in 1959 then extended by 1.5 hectares in 1965. During its long history, Rosso del Conte has adopted various maturation mediums, including chestnut, Slavonian oak and, today, French oak. The 2016 - the current release - was fermented in stainless steel tanks before spending 18 months in small new French oak barriques. Perricone's spiciness immediately comes through in both aroma and flavour, bolstered by Nero d'Avola's rich, sticky and plummy fruits, accompanied by streaks of tangy red berries, black cherry and tobacco." Decanter
"This is a really pretty Sicilian red with dried-cherry, smoke, walnut and mushroom aromas and flavors. The sour-cherry character kicks in at the finish." James Suckling
"The 2016 Rosso del Conte lifts up with an intense and heady bouquet of sweet herbs and tobacco, which deepens as notes of exotic spice, medicinal cherry and hints of menthol form in the glass. It’s silky in texture, delivering a stunning mix of tart wild berries, salty minerals and sage that creates a pleasantly savory expression, as tannins slowly saturate toward the close. This tapers off structured and dry, nearly masking notes of blackberry and cacao that echo on through the finale. A towering and powerful vintage for Rosso del Conte that will require cellaring to show its best." Vinous
"The Tasca Conti d'Almerita 2016 Sicilia Contea di Sclafani Rosso del Conte Tenuta Regaleali is an historic estate blend of Nero d'Avola and Perricone, and it is the latest release of a wine that forever changed the enological future of Sicily by pegging it to a quality-driven production philosophy. The wine is darkly saturated and boasts pretty dark garnet concentration. Both grapes impart a lasting Sicilian imprint on the bouquet with those aromas of toasted fennel, pistachio and black olive that are always associated with this school of winemaking. The wine sits tight and long on the palate, thanks to its generous (but not overdone) full-bodied style." Robert Parker

“Rosso del Conte” Contea di Sclafani DOC 2012
Ruby red, with a fine cherry scent, in which there are also hints of nuts and forest fruits, vanilla, cinnamon, sage and tobacco. Concentrated, rich flavour with harmonious tannins and a long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Impenetrable, almost black crimson. Leafy, dark fruit and hint of tomato stalk and black olive. The merest suggestion of oak. Ripe dark fruit that is still very young. Still hints of malolactic and with a load of bitter-sweet tannins. Very long and characterful with a hint of black olives and quite elegant palate weight. Complex." Jancis Robinson
"Bright red. Very perfumed red cherry, spicy strawberry, violet, and cinnamon on the almost aromatic, very floral nose. Ripe and suave, with a graceful mouth-feel and a long, clean mineral aftertaste which features pretty repeating floral notes. Less powerful than the 2010 but currently showing better balance and amazing grace. Lovely wine." Vinous
"A red with dried-plum and sour-cherry character. Hints of lemons, too. Medium to full body, soft tannins and a savory finish. Solid wine. A standard-bearer." James Suckling
"The venerated 2012 Sicilia Contea di Sclafani Rosso del Conte Tenuta Regaleali is a blend of 41% Nero d'Avola, 31% Perricone and the rest is a mix of various red grapes found on the Regaleali estate. Interestingly, past editions of this wine were reported as all Nero d'Avola but the blending formula seems to have gotten more complex with each passing vintage. This is a big boned wine with thick extraction and a long-lasting build. In fact, this bottle should go into the cellar for a few more years to better integrate and soften. The finish offers coffee, tar, licorice, dried fruit, blackberry preserves and much more. Rosso del Conte shows profound complexity." Robert Parker

“Contrada Rampante” Rosso Etna DOC 2016
Tasca was involved in Etna at an early stage and the latest result of this long experience is four new single vineyard wines from the Tascante Winery: Contrada Rampante, Pianodario, Sciaranuova and Sciaranuova Vigna Vecchia (V.V.). The wines are filigree and deep, and despite their strength, acidity and taut tannins, they are very elegant, full of finesse and light-footed on the palate. Each of the four plots brings a slightly different style and personality to the wine, due to the altitude, soil and morphology of the historic lava flows. A high annual rainfall ensures that the soil has all the water reserves it needs, and the temperature fluctuations between day and night support the aromatic diversity of the grapes and ultimately their ripening potential.
The Contrada Rampante plot is situated at an average altitude of 740 metres above sea level between Solicchiata and Passopisciaro. It covers an area of just 4.6 hectares of vineyards. The soil is of volcanic origin and up to 15,000 years old. SUPERIORE.DE
"Palish ruby. At first a little closed, but with aeration opens up to quite a bit of concentration. Lots of sweet, red-fruit coulis then more minerally, with hints of spice and raw meat. Elegant palate of red fruit with firm, grainy tannins only tempered by long fruit aromas on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"Good medium red-ruby. Pure, deep aromas of cherry and spices on the youthfully reticent nose. In typical Rampante cru style, this is very big and rich in extract, but with harmonious acidity framing and intensifying the red fruit, herb, tobacco and spice flavors. Boasts impressive depth but will need time in bottle to display all of its considerable potential. Finishes chewy and very long, this is the largest-scaled of Tasca's Etna Rosso cru wines in 2016. Forget about this in your cellar for another four years at least." Vinous
"Made with vines planted at the dawn of the new millennium, the 2016 Etna Rosso Contrada Rampante comes from one of the best-performing parcels on the northern side of the volcano, where the topsoil (consisting of eroded volcanic stone and compacted ash) is a bit thicker and deeper compared to most other sites on the volcano. This allows for deep root systems and well-draining moisture. This wine shows a dark and compact nature with ripe fruit, dried blackberry, aniseed and camphor." Robert Parker
"Earthy, gamey and mushroomy nose providing interest alongside berry fruit. Gentle display of smoky red berries ending in a mineral finish." Decanter

“Rosso del Conte” Sicilia Contea di Sclafani DOC 2013
Ruby red, with a fine cherry scent, in which there are also hints of nuts and forest fruits, vanilla, cinnamon, sage and tobacco. Concentrated, rich flavour with harmonious tannins and a long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Youthful mid ruby. Serious fruit nose with a hint of black olive. This reminds me a little of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Fine, complex, strawberry and cherry fruit with firm tannins and a hint of mint. Gorgeous acidity pulls the whole thing together. One of the best Rosso del Conte." Jancis Robinson
"Made from Nero d'Avola, Perricone and a small percentage of other grape varieties, this full-bodied red opens with intense ripe black-skinned berry, Mediterranean scrub, mint and tobacco aromas. The firm, savory palate offers black cherry jam, mocha, licorice and black pepper flavors framed by fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"The nose is sumptuous, with ripe, oaky, cherry and blueberry aromas. The attack is sleek and very concentrated, with a character that’s so ripe it’s almost sweet. But that sucrosity is balanced by quite high acidity that lifts the palate – minty, elegant, spicy and long." Decanter
"So much treacle tart to this red but then tons of florals such as jasmine, violets and then mulberries and hints of vanilla. Full body and a remarkably juicy and tangy center palate of forest fruits, which are ripe but run clean thanks to no shortage of refreshing acidity. Long and fruit-forward yet somehow minerally on the finish. A triumph! Perhaps the best nero d'avola blend ever made. Delicious now." James Suckling

“Contrada Pianodario” Rosso Etna DOC 2016
Tasca was involved in Etna at an early stage and the latest result of this many years of experience are four new single vineyard wines from the Tascante winery: Contrada Rampante, Pianodario, Sciaranuova and Sciaranuova Vigna Vecchia (V.V.). The wines are filigree and profound, and despite their strength, acidity and tight tannin very elegant, rich in finesse and light-footed on the palate. Each of the four plots brings a slightly different style and personality to the wine due to the altitude, soil and morphology of the historical lava flows. A high annual rainfall secures all water reserves for the soil, and the temperature fluctuations between day and night support the variety of aromas of the grapes and ultimately the ripening potential.
The Pianodario plot is situated at an average altitude of 775 metres above sea level between the hamlet of Montelaguardia and Randazzo. It covers an area of about 8 hectares of vineyards. The soils are of volcanic origin and up to 40,000 years old. SUPERIORE.DE
"One of three new single-vineyard wines introduced by Tasca's Tascante, the 2016 Etna Rosso Contrada Pianodario comes from the western-most parcel located between Montelaguardia and Randazzo. These are relatively new vines, planted in 2010, in soils representing various lava flows, the oldest in 1646 and the newest in 1981. This is a bright and accessible wine with pretty tones of wild berry and dried pomegranate followed by candied orange and pressed violets. It will no doubt be exciting to follow this wine as those vines get, proverbially speaking, older and wiser. Some 5,000 bottles were made." Robert Parker

“Contrada Sciaranuova” Rosso Etna DOC 2016
Tasca got involved in Etna early on and the latest result of these years of experience are four new single vineyard wines from the Tascante estate: Contrada Rampante, Pianodario, Sciaranuova and Sciaranuova Vigna Vecchia (V.V.). The wines are delicate and profound, and despite their power, acidity and taut tannin, very elegant, finesse-rich and light-footed on the palate. Each of the four plots brings a slightly different style and personality to the wine - due to the altitude, soil composition and morphology of the historic lava flows. A high annual rainfall ensures that the soil has all the water it needs, and the temperature fluctuations between day and night support the aromatic diversity of the grapes and ultimately the ripening potential.
The Sciaranuova parcel is situated at an average altitude of 730 metres above sea level between the villages of Montelaguardia and Passopisciaro. It covers an area of about 4.9 hectares of vineyards. The soils are of volcanic origin and up to 40,000 years old. SUPERIORE.DE
"Just mid ruby and the most youthful looking of the four single-contrade wines of this vintage. Quite deep red-fruit nose with hints of bacon and a note of oak. This is the one that is the most obviously oaked. Wonderful succulent fruit with a bit of oak that supports rather than distracts. Serious grainy tannins and a little demanding and still a little rough, but extremely fine-perfumed fruit finish." Jancis Robinson
"Good full red. Deep musky, ripe red cherry and strawberry aromas are characterized by a mineral undertone. Then also mineral on entry, but turns just slightly tough in the middle and on the long back end that features similar flavors to the aromas. There's good sweetness here, and the stony nuances add further lightness of being to what is essentially a medium-bodied, easygoing red wine." Vinous
"Lovely nose of wild berry, autumn leaves and tar noted aroma. Crunchy red berry texture, grippy with soft woody notes." Decanter
"The 2016 Etna Rosso Contrada Sciaranuova is made with fruit from vines planted in 2008 at 730 meters above sea level. This is a classic expression from Etna with an even dose of wild berry, rose, mineral and spice. This wine shows an attractive level of balance and harmony, and I am especially attracted to those distinctive volcanic or mineral tones that frame this delicate, almost fragile wine. This Etna Rosso is mostly aged in large Slavonian oak casks, but a small part goes into 300-liter tonneaux. This adds a bit more volume and girth to the finish. Production is 5,000 bottles." The historical development of Sicily as an important wine region is inseparable from Tasca d'Almerita connected. For many years, the wines of the Tasca family vineyard, founded in the first half of the 19th century in the heart of the island, just 90 kilometres southeast of Palermo in the tiny municipality of Sclafani Bagni, have been among the great classics. Winegrowing on the island has not only been decisively influenced by the famous and tradition-conscious wine dynasty, but has also been advanced with great foresight. The crescences of the magnificent Regaleali winery, through whose gardens the composer and playwright Richard Wagner already walked, are simply magnificent. The drops exported to four continents from the house of Tasca d'Almerita can undoubtedly compete with other prominent names on the domestic and international wine scene.
Named Winery of the Year 2012 by the Gambero Rosso, the company, which has almost 500 hectares of vines, is now run by the ninth generation of Giuseppe and Alberto Tasca d'Almerita, who, like their father Lucio Tasca d'Almerita, who died in 2022, work with great intuition and energy. It was thanks to Ignazio Miceli, Head of Marketing, that the wines of the most beautiful winery on the island became famous all over the world. For example, the magnificent Rosso del Conte, introduced in 1970, has set new standards for Sicilian red wines. This top-quality wine was also one of the first wines from the Leopard Island to conquer the American market. The synergies between the Tasca family, Miceli and the Palermo-born founder and chairman of the US importer Winebow Group, Leonardo LoCascio, led to Sicily's top crops shining brightly beyond the country's borders.
In addition to its headquarters, the Tenuta di Regaleali, the Azienda Tasca d'Almerita with the goods Tascante (Etna region), Whitaker (joint venture on the west coast), Sallier de La Tour (northwest) and Capofaro (Aeolian island of Salina) via four further production sites. The wine house, always characterised by good ideas and careful research, and advised by the prominent oenologist Carlo Ferrini, deserves the credit for producing not only autochthonous grape varieties but also some great Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines, which convincingly reflect the typical character of Sicily. The family, which since the turn of the millennium, with the arrival of the winemaker from Tuscany, had preferred local varieties more than ever, had made the first clone selections in their vineyards and had already planted international varieties before all the other winegrowing companies on the island. "The only property on the island that deserves to be compared to a large Bordeaux château is the house of Count Tasca ... The average quality of the range of labels is remarkable."Gambero Rosso
The Tasca d'Almerita winery is one of the 24 wineries worldwide to be awarded the "Robert Parker Green Emblem" in 2021. This certification is awarded by one of the most important international wine critics' media: Robert Parker's "Wine Advocate".
This rare distinction is only awarded to producers who are committed to sustainability, long-term environmental protection and biodiversity. Once a winery has received the award, all of its wines will bear the coveted "Robert Parker Green Emblem". SUPERIORE.DE
"Alberto Tasca d'Almerita created SOStain and is president of the foundation today with other like-minded Sicilian vintners who serve on the board of directors. Alberto was one of the first Italian producers to embrace the VIVA Sustainable Wine project developed by the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea to promote better winegrowing practices."
