Rosso di Montepulciano DOC 2021 (BIO)
Fine Rosso di Montepulciano with a typical fruity-spicy aroma and solid body. It has just the right balance, is multi-layered, reveals an aromatic fruit and also has a final decent persistence. SUPERIORE.DE
"Wickedly fresh and floral, the 2021 Rosso di Montepulciano wafts up from the glass with a bouquet of wild strawberries, stems and all, plus touches of mint and blood orange. This steps softly yet with impact, impressing with fleshy red and blue fruits expertly offset by a salty core of minerality. Raspberry and blueberry preserves and rosy inner florals make the lightly tannic and medium-length finish a total pleasure. This is a beautiful blending of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Merlot." Vinous

“In Violas” Merlot Cortona DOC 2018
The DOC Cortona, which has existed since 1999, is famous for its single-varietal Syrahs and Merlots, whose vines thrive excellently on the Pliocene clayey soils. Since 2006, the Carletti family has also been involved in this appellation, which was quite unknown until today, and their Merlot Il Violas is now known beyond the borders of Italy and has many lovers.
Dense, dark ruby with violet reflections. On the nose, an open-hearted bouquet of black berry fruits, sandalwood, rosemary and with fine spice. The texture coats the palate, warm, intense and rich of dark fruits, chocolate, plum and redcurrant. In Violas is a generous and deep red that just calls out for a Bistecca Fiorentina and gives much pleasure. SUPERIORE.DE
"A fresh and linear merlot with blueberry, black-olive and citrus undertones. It’s medium-bodied and creamy with vivid intensity. Some wood, too. Shows attractive potential. Try after 2024." James Suckling

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2019
A solid and every year excellent drop is the tension-charged Nobile by Poliziano, which smells of dark red cherries, blackberries and toasted notes. Juicy, compact and polished on the palate, soft and balanced with silky tannins and a long, elegant finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Starts with a lot of esprit on notes of cherries and blackberries; compact in the mouth, the acidity lively, pithy tannins, has character and great length." Vinum
"Sparkling ruby red with dark nuances. Finely spicy, with precise fruit on the nose, plus notes of liquorice and coffee beans, underpinned with cold smoke. Supple on the palate entry, with firm, knit-in tannin, balanced, with lively acidity, fine fruit melt, persistent." Falstaff
"A dense, tightly wound version, displaying cherry and berry fruit, earth and underbrush flavors wrapped in a grip of dusty tannins. Gains fruit, allowing the vibrant acidity to focus and extend the finish." Wine Spectator
"Poliziano's 120 hectares extend over diverse subzones within the northern sector of Montepulciano. Drawing fruit from the various plots, its Vino Nobile (90% Sangiovese) is bolstered by Canaiolo Nero, Merlot and Colorino. It is youthfully restrained, with discreet mineral notes eventually giving way to black currant, red plum and floral nuances. The palate is tight but full with tangy acidity, appetising salinity and a subtle hint of oak. The tannins sport a grainy grip and all the elements are kept in check." Decanter
"Aromas of plums, orange peel and fresh flowers follow through to a medium body, with very crisp acidity and fine yet dusty tannins with a succulent and fresh finish." James Suckling

“Asinone” Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2019
Within its dense, intense hue lies a lush bouquet whose fruity allusions to blackberries, sour cherries and blueberries are given an elegant touch by the delicate, very subtle wood spice. In the rich, firm palate, the smooth tannin is well blended with the structure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Exceedingly intriguing raspberry aromas, nuances of dried roses, pepper and undergrowth; the attack powerful yet elegant, the tannins tightly and accurately integrated, the finish on flavours of wild berries, finely spicy and persistent. Excellent single vineyard Sangiovese, perfect with food." Vinum
"Bright ruby red with delicately brightening rims. Opens radiantly on the nose on fine nuances of ripe, dark berries, delicate graphite, some leather, inviting. On the palate with tight tannin, pithy, but also with great juiciness and fine play, spans a wide arc, firm pressure in the finish." Falstaff
"Lushly textured, fresh and harmonious, this red features cherry, plum, sanguine, mineral and herbal aromas and flavors. The finish is persistent, leaving a savory impression." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone is intense with a bouquet of stone dust, dried violets, black currants and cocoa powder. This is elegance exemplified, velvety and soothing, yet energetic, with a dense wave of polished red and black fruits that wash across the palate, leaving minerals and sweet tannins to mingle toward the close. A subtle layer of sour citrus helps enliven the otherwise-structured finale as minty herbal tones slowly fade. The 2019 is a total darling and has the balance to mature beautifully in collectors’ cellars." Vinous

Mandrone di Lohsa is a supple wine, with a soft, feminine structure. Fruity berry aromas, herbs, spices and a warm woody note on the nose. Round, full and rich in dark red fruits on the palate. Very pleasant and long. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, dark red berries, exotic spices, citrus and a dusting of confectioners sugar waft up from the seductive 2018 Rosso Mandrone di Lohsa. There are depths of silky textures contrasted by cool-toned red and black fruits that elegantly flesh out across the palate, with hints of mocha and vanilla resonating throughout. The 2017 is a bit of a showboat, but it’s balanced by tart berries, minerals and spices, as well as a framework of crunchy tannin." Vinous
"A firm, rather chewy wine from the Maremma with cherry and light vanilla character. It’s medium-bodied with juicy fruit and a flavorful finish." James Suckling
"Piercing aromas and flavors of cassis and violet permeate this vibrant, tightly wound red. The dense matrix of tannins quickly applies its grip on the flavors, yet there's an essence lingering on the mineral-tinged finish. Stays fresh." Wine Spectator

“Le Caggiole” Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2018
The first Caggiole was launched in 1988 and disappeared again as early as 1995 because the flagship Asinone simply met consumers' tastes better. Today - after more than 20 years of abstinence - the Nobile Le Caggiole is back on the market as the new first wine of the house. Estate owner Dott. Federico Carletti has dedicated this masterpiece to his wife Anna - setting a new benchmark for Poliziano and the entire denomination. We are very pleased to present this strictly limited top wine!
Salty, mineral and refined. Le Caggiole represents the terroir and the grape variety Sangiovese (Prugnolo Gentile) like no other wine of the house. It is almost light-footed, svelte, delicate and at the same time very fine. It is the result of many years of work in selecting the right Sangiovese clones in the single vineyard of the same name, Le Caggiole, which consists of 4 plots. SUPERIORE.DE
"Radiant, elegant ruby red with a delicately lightening rim. Expressive and fragrant nose of ripe heart cherries, wild strawberries, noble use of wood and fine spices in the background. Very polished and juicy on the palate, tightly woven tannins coat the hearty fruit, radiant and finesse-rich, still a little grippy on the final." Falstaff
"The 2018 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Le Caggiole lifts up with a display like human catnip. A pleasant air of vanilla custard accentuates sweet smoke, grilled sage, cocoa and rum-soaked cherries. It’s silky and polished in feel yet finessed with an almost weightless aura, showing decidedly ripe plum and hints of candied citrus to balance. The 2018 finishes long and gently tannic, with inner tobacco and sweet herbal tones lingering incredibly long. While the nose is a bit candied in personality, the 2018 possesses fantastic harmony within. I'm very interested to see what a few years of cellaring might do." Vinous
"Features a fine balance between the cherry, currant, earth, wild thyme and eucalyptus flavors, with a firm backbone of tannins and juicy acidity. Well-delineated and long, this red is complex and refined." Wine Spectator
"A firm and fine Vino Nobile with cherry, berry and lightly earthy aromas. Crushed stone. Medium body. Linear finish. A little tight now. Give it two or three years. Try after 2024." James Suckling

"Bright ruby red. Clear and expressive on the nose, of rich cherries, liquorice, icing sugar and finest spice. Shows itself extremely supple and polished on the palate, spreads velvety over the tongue, with a clear fruit core, long and full of finesse in the final." Falstaff
"Made entirely with Sangiovese, this has aromas of mature black-skinned fruit, exotic spice, camphor and whiffs of French oak. Firmly structured but elegant, the linear palate delivers Marasca cherry, red plum, espresso and licorice framed in tightly knit, fine-grained tannins. Bright acidity keeps it fresh and balanced." Wine Enthusiast
"The Poliziano 2016 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Le Caggiole opens to a dark and sultry appearance, showing a rich and elegant side of the Sangiovese grape. There is a snappy or tart element to the fruit with sour cherry and black plum; however, the wine does not lack for ripeness. There is depth and rich concentration here, giving this wine a step up when it comes to a possible steak or meat roast dinner. The tannins (both the fruit and the oak tannins) are astringent, so give the wine a few more months of bottle aging." Wine Advocate
"Poliziano's 2016 Vino Nobile Le Caggiole is beautifully done. Freshly cut flowers, red berries, mint, cedar and tobacco are all laced together in a pretty, translucent Vino Nobile that is all class. The Caggiole deftly marries power with restraint. There is a lot going on, but the 2016 is not at all an obvious wine. This is a gorgeous and very refined expression of Vino Nobile." Vinous

"Exceedingly elegant Sangiovese from one of the best Vino Nobile sites: smells of raspberries and flowers; spot-on texture with polish, tight tannins and vivid acidity, of great length and with a future. Can mature." Vinum
"Bright ruby red. Noble, inviting nose, of ripe forest fruits and rich cherries, carried by a gentle spicy tone, reverberating of light leather and tea, complex. On the palate juicy, clear and with tight tannin, salty undertone, pulls clear and long over the tongue, with persistence." Falstaff

"The 2018 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone shows the more delicate side of this cru. Crushed rose petal, red cherry, mint, leather and dried herbs are all very nicely lifted. Gracious and silky on the palate, with superb balance, the 2018 Asinone is a winner from Poliziano. Readers will find a Vino Nobile that decidedly favors elegance over heft." Vinous
"Dark-cherry aromas with nutmeg and flowers follow through to a full body with firm, linear tannins that are polished and beautiful at the end. Succulent and attractive now, but will age nicely." James Suckling

“Le Caggiole” Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2016 · Double MAGNUM in OWC
The first Caggiole was launched in 1988 and disappeared again as early as 1995 because the flagship Asinone simply met consumers' tastes better. Today - after more than 20 years of abstinence - the Nobile Le Caggiole is back on the market as the new first wine of the house.
It is salty, mineral and refined. It represents the terroir and the Sangiovese grape variety (Prugnolo Gentile) like no other wine of the house. It is almost light-footed, svelte, delicate and at the same time very fine. It is the result of many years of work with the selection of the right Sangiovese clones in the single vineyard of the same name, Le Caggiole, which consists of 4 plots.
Estate owner Dott. Federico Carletti has dedicated this masterpiece to his wife Anna - setting a new benchmark for Poliziano and the entire denomination. We are very pleased to present this strictly limited top wine! SUPERIORE.DE

Montepulciano, Pienza, Cortona - these small towns comprehensively describe the terrain on which this symbolic west Tuscan winery operates. The labels of the Poliziano winery, located below Montepulciano near Gracciano, have never disappointed wine lovers. That is why the farm, which was founded by Dino Carletti in the early 1960s primarily out of love for his land, has long since established a firm place for itself in Italy's top wine league. Since the early 1980s, the estate, built in modern architecture, has been run by Federico Carletti with a dedication that already distinguished his father. The owner is regarded as a wine enthusiast who strives for perfection and is bursting with energy. These personal qualities also explain why Federico appointed none other than Carlo Ferrini as production manager at the estate and that he very successfully led the Consorzio del Vino Nobile as president for many years. In addition to Azienda Agricola Poliziano, Carletti also owns Lohsa, a vineyard in Maremma.
After successfully completing his studies in agronomy at the University of Florence, the "Dottore" first gained experience in other businesses before daring to launch a dynamic quality offensive in his father's company. Federico invested a lot of money in the old vineyards, which had already been used in the 1940s, in order to replant them and expand the cultivation areas. He also researched further possibilities to increase the quality of the yields. Today, the spacious and functionally equipped cellar is perfectly equipped with conical stainless steel cooking racks and neatly arranged small wooden barrels.
The effort put into the vineyard and the cellar has paid off. The Vino Nobile, which are kept in a modern style but still respectfully honour the tradition of the terroir, prove their consistently high charisma every year. This is why wine critics repeatedly praise the complex, beautifully structured growths in the highest terms. The wine guide Gambero Rosso, for example, has already awarded well over twenty three-glass sets for Poliziano's fine wines. The showpiece of the winery is the Nobile Asinone. The grapes of this fabulous wine, named after a vineyard, grow under optimal conditions. But the other labels of the house - such as Rosso, Nobile or Le Stanze - are also trustworthy. The Vin Santo is also of excellent quality, its elegance making it one of the best of its type in the entire Montepulciano region. SUPERIORE.DE
"Federico Carletti never rested on his laurels - even when there seemed to be little left to improve." Gambero Rosso
