Sangiovese Terra degli Osci IGT 2020
Excellent, single-varietal Sangiovese at a top price: ruby red, powerful, very typical bouquet of dark berries, tobacco and leather, well structured on the palate with cherry and plum notes, excellent length and elegant, fine-fruity finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dusty red flowers, dried strawberries and aromas of worn leather create an inviting bouquet as the 2020 Sangiovese opens in the glass. It is racy yet supple, with ripe cherry berries pouring over a mineral acid core. On the finish, the 2020 becomes crisp, leaving subtle tannins that frame the experience beautifully. It has so much purity and energy. This wine far exceeds its price." Vinous
"Aromas of black cherries, orange peel and some fresh herbs. Medium body, medium round tannins, and a soft and creamy finish. Light jammy character at the end." James Suckling

“Tintilia” Molise (Riserva) DOC 2020
Rich Riserva made from Tintilia grapes, an ancient vine from Molise. Full, soft and velvety, the perfect harmony of bouquet and flavour is impressive. SUPERIORE.DE
"Spicy and hot on the nose, with chili pepper and cherry tomato before bright sour cherry and candied red-apple aromas come out. More red apple and red pepper heat on the palate, with the sanguine flinty quality of dusty bricks and iron-rich soil emphasized by vibrant acid." Wine Enthusiast
"Aromas of eucalyptus, figs and wild cherries. Medium-bodied with firm tannins. Interesting mineral character on the palate with walnut and blackberry coming through." James Suckling
"Autumnal spices, black licorice and sage form an inviting bouquet as the 2020 Tintilia blossoms in the glass. Silky and enveloping, this impresses further with cooling mineral tones and juicy acidity. Tart wild berry fruits slowly saturate the palate. A coating of fine tannins gradually fades as the 2020 finishes energetic, leaving the mouth watering for another sip." Vinous

“Don Luigi” Riserva Molise DOC 2017 (BIO)
Don Luigi Riserva, a solid, powerful red from Montepulciano and Aglianico has an intense, complex bouquet of sour cherries preserved in alcohol and a rich, delicately woody flavour with a long, warm finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Toasted hazelnuts, chocolate cherries, dark berries, bay leaves and walnuts on the nose. Full-bodied with a rich, ripe core of dark fruits framed by firm and muscular tannins. Salty undertones. Big and delicious." James Suckling
"The 2017 Don Luigi Riserva smolders up with a darkly alluring mix of musky black currants, sweet sage and crushed ashen stones. This is full-bodied and nearly creamy in feel. Depths of ripe dark fruits and exotic spices swirl throughout. There isn’t a hard edge in sight, while the 2017 blends brisk acidity with lingering notes of red plum and cedar. Just a touch of grippy tannin lurks beneath the surface. The balance here is stunning, yet some cellaring may be required to unlock further aromatic depth. That said, this is a beautiful rendition of Don Luigi Riserva." Vinous

Beautiful beaches, bizzare mountains, fantastic lakes and a delicious regional cuisine.
Molise is the fourth smallest winegrowing region after Aosta Valley, Liguria and Basilicata. The second smallest region in Italy in terms of area and population. Beautiful landscape, but economically one of the poorest regions of the country with high unemployment. Molise was only separated from the Abruzzi region in 1963. The wine industry has barely been modernised and the tiny vineyards in widely scattered small plots are not exactly economically viable. This is why relatively little wine is produced in Molise.
Molise is bordered by Abruzzo in the north, Lazio in the west, Campania in the south and Apulia in the south-east. For tourists there are sparsely populated beaches in the east of the Adriatic coast. In the west the mountains rise up to 2.700m, there you can even ski.
Mini plots at high altitudes do not make viticulture easy.
Although wine-growing can be found almost everywhere in Molise, the main part is in the surroundings of the two larger cities Campobasso, the capital, and in the hills near Isernia. Some locations on the edge of the mountains reach up to 600 meters above sea level. Everywhere the plots are highly fragmented, nine out of ten vineyards have less than half a hectare of vineyards. Molise produces around 27.5 million litres of wine per year on a total cultivation area of almost 6,000 hectares. The predominant part is rather rustic country wine, which is drunk predominantly in the region. Worth mentioning is the regional cuisine to which exactly these wines go so well, lots of lamb in all variations, many sausages, cappocollo and salami specialties, local cheese from the mountains, and strong pasta specialties, allegedly the thin spaghetti (alla chitarra) were once created here.
Molise's share of total Italian wine production is only 0.5 per cent.
Only just under 10% of all wines come from the four DOC zones. The grape variety range is very similar to that of Abruzzo: Trebbiano and Montepulciano dominate the cultivation. Common red varieties are also Aglianico. Sangiovese, Bombino Rosso and some Barbera. The white grape varieties are dominated by Falanghina, Fiano, Greco and Trebbiano. Molise's wine criticism in recent years has been drawn to attention by a rare autochthonous variety, the Tintilia, whose mineral, velvety spicy red wines are quite unique. SUPERIORE.DE
