Sangiovese Terra degli Osci IGT 2019
Excellent, single-varietal Sangiovese at a top price: ruby red, powerful, very typical bouquet of dark berries, tobacco and leather, well-structured on the palate with cherry and plum notes, excellent length and elegant, fine-fruity finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"A bouquet of musky cherry, blackberry and wild herbs lifts up from the 2019 Sangiovese. It’s lean yet cooling on the palate, displaying tart woodland berries offset by hints of mint and salty minerals. A subtle tug of fine tannin lingers, framing the expression nicely, as the 2019 resonates on black fruits and a twang of exotic savory spice." Vinous
"A big, rich and fruit-forward red with lots of ripe and dried-fruit character that gives a fig undertone. It’s full and flavorful. If you like rich reds, here is one." James Suckling

Falanghina from the DOC Molise - already the Sannites not only appreciated this wine, they considered it one of the best. “Ramitello” Rosso Biferno DOC 2016
Ramitello impresses with an immense bouquet of intense red fruit aromas and delicate balsamic notes. The taste is warm and full, with rich fruity tones spiced with hints of tobacco and liquorice. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2016 Ramitello blends 85% Montepulciano to 15% Aglianico to create a dark, floral and alluring bouquet. A dusting of crushed violets, blackberries, vanilla bean and hints of animal musk waft up from the glass. It’s velvety in texture yet lifted in feel, while leaning toward the savory spectrum with its concentrated mix of tart wild berries and salty minerals. Brisk acids maintain energy even as fine tannins slowly mount, all under a lasting air of black licorice and hints of tar. This is nicely done and a fantastic value." Vinous
"A mix of cherry coulis and brandy-soaked blackberries blends with a heady dose of tobacco and fresh thyme on the nose of this blend of 85% Montepulciano and 15% Aglianico. Plush and soft in feel yet lifted by fresh acidity, the medium-bodied palate delivers pure, juicy berry flavors flecked by plenty of sweet and savory spice tones." Wine Enthusiast
"A rich, layered red with ripe-cherry and plum character. Medium to full body. Round and creamy with a lovely finish. Nicely done. Shows some balance." James Suckling

“Contado” Aglianico Riserva Molise DOC 2016
Concentrated ruby red with garnet reflections. To the predominant black cherry and berry scent, the wood contributes very slight hints of roasted coffee. Full and very intense flavour of dark berries, very slightly of violets and plums, the compact tannins are supported by balsamic notes, fine liquorice tones in the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"A very attractive, ripe aglianico with dried berry, chocolate and some walnut. It’s full, layered and delicious." James Suckling
"Ashen soils, crushed stone, animal musk, plum and exotic savory spices can all be found in the dark and sultry 2016 Aglianico Riserva Contado. It’s velvety yet not weighty, energized by bright acidity with tart black fruits, minerals and grippy tannins that saturate the senses. There are unseen depths here which are currently restrained by the Contado’s hulking structure, yet there’s also a harmony that tempts the imagination as to what’s to come. Currants, wild herbs, salted licorice and hints of tobacco linger long. This is like a well-muscled stallion, yet it needs some time in the cellar to soften." Vinous

Aglianico del Molise DOC 2016 (BIO)
The pure Aglianico Biorganic shows itself in dense ruby violet. Fascinating perfumed scent of blackcurrants and blackberries, plus notes of licorice, smoke and earth. Of beautiful purity, rich and with spicy accents at the palate. SUPERIORE.DE
" Attractive blackberry and walnut with some bark undertones. Medium-to full-bodied with firm tannins that are polished and together." James Suckling
"Deep ruby. Tar and licorice complement red cherry and plum on the nose. Then rich, dense and spicy, offering multilayered flavors similar to the aromas. The finish is long and youthfully chewy but the tannins are noble. It’s really impossible not to like this fruity yet structured and very well balanced wine. Well done." Vinous

“Contado” Aglianico Riserva Molise DOC 2015 · MAGNUM

Full and very intense flavour of dark berries, very slightly of violets and plums, the compact tannins are supported by balsamic notes, fine liquorice tones in the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Of the many value reds offered by this estate, the 2015 Aglianico del Molise Riserva Contado is my favorite. The wine delivers the power and density that is attributed to this fabulous red grape, followed by warm-vintage aromas that are exuberant and generous. You get black cherry and blackberry preserves followed by light baking spice. This is a full-bodied wine that achieves careful balance." Robert Parker

Beautiful beaches, bizzare mountains, fantastic lakes and a delicious regional cuisine.
Molise is the fourth smallest winegrowing region after Aosta Valley, Liguria and Basilicata. The second smallest region in Italy in terms of area and population. Beautiful landscape, but economically one of the poorest regions of the country with high unemployment. Molise was only separated from the Abruzzi region in 1963. The wine industry has barely been modernised and the tiny vineyards in widely scattered small plots are not exactly economically viable. This is why relatively little wine is produced in Molise.
Molise is bordered by Abruzzo in the north, Lazio in the west, Campania in the south and Apulia in the south-east. For tourists there are sparsely populated beaches in the east of the Adriatic coast. In the west the mountains rise up to 2.700m, there you can even ski.
Mini plots at high altitudes do not make viticulture easy.
Although wine-growing can be found almost everywhere in Molise, the main part is in the surroundings of the two larger cities Campobasso, the capital, and in the hills near Isernia. Some locations on the edge of the mountains reach up to 600 meters above sea level. Everywhere the plots are highly fragmented, nine out of ten vineyards have less than half a hectare of vineyards. Molise produces around 27.5 million litres of wine per year on a total cultivation area of almost 6,000 hectares. The predominant part is rather rustic country wine, which is drunk predominantly in the region. Worth mentioning is the regional cuisine to which exactly these wines go so well, lots of lamb in all variations, many sausages, cappocollo and salami specialties, local cheese from the mountains, and strong pasta specialties, allegedly the thin spaghetti (alla chitarra) were once created here.
Molise's share of total Italian wine production is only 0.5 per cent.
Only just under 10% of all wines come from the four DOC zones. The grape variety range is very similar to that of Abruzzo: Trebbiano and Montepulciano dominate the cultivation. Common red varieties are also Aglianico. Sangiovese, Bombino Rosso and some Barbera. The white grape varieties are dominated by Falanghina, Fiano, Greco and Trebbiano. Molise's wine criticism in recent years has been drawn to attention by a rare autochthonous variety, the Tintilia, whose mineral, velvety spicy red wines are quite unique. SUPERIORE.DE
