• "Munfrina" Dolcetto d'Alba DOC 2016

      “Munfrina” Dolcetto d’Alba DOC 2016

Lively, fresh, pure Dolcetto with complex aromas of dark fruits and spices, remarkably complex and long on the palate. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2016 Dolcetto d'Alba Munfrina is a tasty, mid-weight offering with good brightness to its red and purplish-toned fruit. In this vintage, the Munfrina is a touch slender, which is a departure from the richer style of 2015, but more typical for Dolcetto." Antonio Galloni

      “Augenta” Dolcetto d’Alba DOC 2016

The intense red-violet Dolcetto from the Augenta vineyard shows an open, fruity aroma, complex on the palate, tannic, acidity and alcohol in wonderful balance and a typical Dolcetto delicate bitter aftertaste. SUPERIORE.DE

"Dark cherry, plum, smoke, licorice and tobacco are some of the many notes that run through the 2016 Dolcetto d'Alba Augenta. The personality of this site and aging in cask yield a brooding Dolcetto with ample shoulders and notable breadth, not to mention quite a bit of power." Antonio Galloni

The Barbera d'Alba Piani is pleasantly fresh. A remarkable concentration in its fragrance of dark fruits and sweet aromas of roasted oak. On the palate full, full-bodied, silky textured tannins and harmonious all around. SUPERIORE.DE

"A wine of power, the 2015 Barbera d'Alba Piani possesses notable intensity in its fruit richness and tannic clout. I tasted the 2015 from barrel prior to bottling. At present, the wine shows some rough edges that will surely soften in time." VINOUS

    • "Long Now" Rosso Langhe DOC 2011

“Long Now” Rosso Langhe DOC 2011

Long Now stands for a modern, early drinking wine with a traditional longevity. SUPERIORE.DE

"tobacco, leather, black cherry, currant, earthy, herbs, multi-layered, animal, big potential – a wine that stands on its own, but can also go well with a Cohiba, good complexity, would also go well with boiled game. Nebbiolo and Barbera vinified to perfection, a very great, multi-faceted wine." Falstaff

"The 2011 Long Now is dark, rich and imposing, with fabulous depth allied to a sense of underlying tension that balances some of the wine's inherent opulence. Black cherries, smoke, tobacco, incense and licorice meld together in an explosive Barbera/Nebbiolo blend endowed with magnificent richness and power. Tasted next to the 2012, the 2011 is quite a bit riper and also presents more oak influence." Antonio Galloni

    • "Long Now" Rosso Langhe DOC 2014

“Long Now” Rosso Langhe DOC 2014

"Rich and dense, exuding blackberry, plum, tar and leafy underbrush flavors, this red is a bit austere now, yet racy, finishing with a hefty dose of tannins." Wine Spectator

"The 2014 Long Now, Pelissero's Barbera/Nebbiolo blend, is superb. Deep, intense Barbera fruit takes center stage in this release. Graphite, smoke, licorice, blackberry jam and dark spices emerge from the 2014, a wine that is rich and unctuous yet also linear in structure. Giorgio Pelissero won't bottle the 2014 until 2017, but even today, it is striking and also highly promising. It will be interesting to see how the 2014 responds to the last phase of aging." • Barbaresco "Tulin" DOCG 2013

      Barbaresco “Tulin” DOCG 2013

In the bouquet eucalyptus and red berries. Energetic Barbaresco with a horn of fruit, rose petals and spices. Wonderfully polished style, one of the great wines of Pelissero. SUPERIORE.DE

"A polished and velvety red with blueberry, chocolate and light walnut character. Medium body, firm and soft textured. Flavorful finish." James Suckling

"The 2013 Barbaresco Tulin is deep and layered in the glass, but also quite shut down today. There is plenty of intensity in the glass, but the wine still needs time to come together, as it is a bit nervous today. With air, the wine starts to show some of its pedigree, but readers are best off cellaring the 2013 for at least a few years. Sweet red cherry, plum rose petal and blood orange infuse the expressive finish. This is the wine that shows the energy of the late harvest the most. " Antonio Galloni

"Pelissero's 2011 Barbaresco Tulin impresses for its crystalline purity. Bright veins of chalky salinity support the fruit in a drop-dead gorgeous, vibrant Barbaresco built on energy and nuance. An exotic finish laced with hints of tangerine peel, rose petal, anise and spices rounds things out beautifully. About the winemakers
    Pelissero
    Piedmont
    Pelissero

The Pelissero winery, now in its third generation, is nestled in the hills of the Langhe and surrounded by the medieval tower of Barbaresco and Château Guarene.

In the course of time, the company, founded by Luigi Pelissero and managed since 1987 by his son Giorgio, a trained oenologist, has become more and more important in the wine world.

Originally, the family had only grown grapes in Piedmont in order to sell them later. Luigi first pressed and bottled the first bottles. The heritage was later improved by Giorgio, with the help of his sister Cristina, through constant research in the vineyards and cellars to ensure the same high quality of the wines every year.

The 40 hectares of vineyards represent about 85 percent of the autochthonous varieties Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. They make up the great charm of the region. The vineyards are located in the municipalities of Neive, Barbaresco and Treiso. Thanks to the extensive areas, the best berries can always be selected from the grapes. As far as his traditional wine style is concerned, Giorgio has clear ideas. Besides a very high drinkability purity and taste elegance are the preferred characteristics, writes the Gambero Rosso. The family also succeeds again and again in transferring the profile of each individual vineyard to the corresponding label and in clearly highlighting the character of each grape variety.

The spirited and aging wines of the Azienda Agricola Pelissero can be very appealing even at a young age. They are aged in wooden barrels of different sizes and often new ones. The wine range extends from the very inexpensive Barbera d'Alba to the exclusive and therefore much more expensive Barbaresco Vanotu from Basarin di Neive. By the way, the model wine bears the nickname of Cristinas and Giorgio's grandfather. He has already been awarded several times by the Gambero Rossowith three glasses. SUPERIORE.DE

"Giorgio's dynamic management style has had a decisive impact on the company and proves its above-average capabilities even in difficult years with highly competitive markets ... Stylistically he focuses on character and personality."Gambero Rosso
