“Alanera” Rosso Veneto IGT 2019
Part of the grapes of the Alanera are air-dried before fermentation in the appassimento process to promote the concentration of the aromas. Dark ruby red. On the nose, the scent of dried and fresh cherries, plus a little coffee and sweet tobacco. On the palate then berry-fresh with a nice acid wire and fine tannins. A full, round wine for many occasions. SUPERIORE.DE
"A fusion of traditional regional grape varieties with proportions of Merlot (5%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%). A touch of appassimento adds girth and a hint of mahogany-tinged cherry sweetness to the mid palate. Herbal bitters, juice and amaro overlay the finish." James Suckling
"This wine has forward aromas of black plum and blueberry pie. Though not an Amarone, the winery partially dries 50% of the grapes for a few months creating a wine made from both fresh fruit and dried fruit. This creates a wine that is lush and rich on the palate, but vibrant and intense in equal proportions. It is silky smooth, with a long finish of spiced plums and dried herbs." Wine Enthusiast

“Fallwind” Riesling Alto Adige DOC 2021
The evening fall winds of the Mendel Mountains give the entire terroir of the St. Michael-Eppan Winery its characteristics. They ensure cool nights, they give the grapes those extraordinary qualities that are characteristic for the aroma, the unmistakable freshness and the longevity of the wines. The fall wind is the natural force that blows over the vineyard every day, positively influencing the climate and supporting the valuable work of the cooperative winery's winegrowers.
The popular Riesling "Montiggl" becomes "Fallwind". The Fallwind wines are ambassadors of their terroir and reflect the strengths of the growing region in a unique way. Most of them are selected sites where viticulture has been practised for centuries. Strict quality guidelines, low yields, intensive manual work in the vineyard as well as gentle and individual maturation in the cellar make them what they are: Wines full of character, precise and unique, which convince every connoisseur with their varietal characteristics.
Montiggl Riesling is an extremely elegant wine. Germany's favourite grape has found the ideal terroir in parts of South Tyrol. Riesling makes high demands on the site and prefers a cool but very sunny climate. This is exactly what Montiggl offers. The porphyry soils there give it fruit, minerality and an ideal acid backbone. “Vette di San Leonardo” Sauvignon Bianco Dolomiti IGT 2022
The 100% Sauvignon Blanc of Tenuta San Leonardo is a fragrant and lively white wine that always remains true to the varietal character of the grape. The vineyards lie beneath snow-capped mountains and rock formations carved by glaciers. Vette impressively reflects the sharpness and brilliant intensity of the panoramic terrain that has noticeably shaped it. On the nose, it is reminiscent of exotic fruits and passion fruit; on the palate, there is well-integrated acidity and a subtle mineral component. A fresh, juicy finish rounds off the wonderful drinking experience. SUPERIORE.DE
"A light white wine with notes of chive blossom, grapefruit zest and white pepper that underlines the crisp fruit of white peach and melon. Crackles with racy acidity that drives the lacy, petrol-tinged finish." Wine Spectator
"This Sauvignon Blanc opens with aromas of yellow peach, fresh herbs and lemon zest. The palate shows strong acidity followed by tropical fruits, savoury spices and a hint of toasted honey, all supported by a structured palate that evolves as the wine opens." Wine Enthusiast
"Good intensity of fresh, ripe gooseberries with a hint of sour cream, green mangoes, grapefruit and stones. Fresh and chalky on the palate with zesty acidity that extends to an elegant finish." James Suckling

“Langfeld” Pinot Bianco Alto Adige DOC 2021
The grapes for Pinot Bianco Langfeld come from up to 700 metres altitude around the municipality of Montan. Pale greenish yellow, fine bouquet of green apple, lemon, chalk and some crushed rock. Fine texture in the drink, with good structure on the palate and excellent depth. In the spicy-fruity finish then a precise, linear acidity and pear and apple notes. Great and very balanced! SUPERIORE.DE
"Sweet white flowers, melon and vanilla bean aromas waft up from the remarkably pretty 2021 Pinot Bianco Langfeld. It soothes with its zesty acidity as mineral-tinged orchard fruits cascade across the palate. The 2021 finishes with a salty flourish contrasting ripe orchard fruits while the mouth is left watering for more." Vinous
"Enticing, delicate scents reminiscent of orchard fruits and spring blossoms characterise the nose. On the polished, savoury palate, bright acidity accompanies ripe yellow apples, pears and a hint of honeydew melon before a salty, mineral finish." Wine Enthusiast
"The floral delicacy of this wine makes it stand out from the crowd of well-made South Tyrolean Pinot Noirs. It is joined by a wide range of bright fruit flavours, from oranges to pear wedges, which unfold on the supple and very concentrated palate. Long, very clean and crisp finish." James Suckling

“Alta Mora” Bianco Etna DOC 2021
Here comes one of the most beautiful interpretations of the white grape variety Carricante. Fresh, dynamic wine from Etna with a multi-faceted aroma of citrus, white peach, yeast, flint and smoke. Cool grapefruit, taut acidity and impressive mineral hints in the dry finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Etna Bianco opens with a whiff of crushed stones and raw almonds, giving way to crushed green apples. It soothes with its round, enveloping textures. Zesty acidity and salty mineral tones add a reverberation of tension. It leaves a subtle tart tinge of sour melon while finishing pleasantly fresh and saline." Vinous
"Bright straw yellow with golden reflections. In the nose of tropical fruits, orange peel, ripe apple and some fumé. On the palate very mineral, fresh and salty, animates to drink, balanced, long final." Falstaff
"A restrained nose with notes of tar and fresh pavement, then lemons and limes, opens to a palate bright with citrus but also stony and peppery, before a long finish carried by powerful acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2021 Etna Bianco is fresh and beautifully balanced with white peach and grapefruit contrasted with minerals and volcanic ash. This crisp white wine proves very drinkable and enjoyable thanks to the almost salty finish that would go well with fried prawns or Thai spring rolls. It matures on the fine lees for six months. The fruit comes from three different contrade: Arrigo (in Linguaglossa), Verzella and Pietramarina." Wine Advocate
"It has aromas of grilled pineapple, papaya and chamomile with distinct smoky and ashy undertones. Medium-bodied with bright acidity. Spicy, with fantastic flint and smoke character." James Suckling

“Montessu” Isola dei Nuraghi IGT 2020
Seductive cuvée of Carignano, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Dark berry fruits on the nose, full and rich on the palate with nice spice, rounded tannin and good length. SUPERIORE.DE
"A gamy and earthy nose on this wine conveys cured meat, potting soil, tree bark and tobacco leaves, with a final bite of fresh cranberries. The palate turns to notes of fruit on top of the earthy gaminess, with cherries and blackberries in addition to cranberries. Angular tannins hold everything in place." Wine Enthusiast
"A medium to full-bodied red wine, with hints of sweet smoke and fig cake underlining flavours of blackberry coulis and black plum reduction, dried thyme and tea leaf, singed orange peel and ground anise. Balanced and slightly juicy, with fine tannins firming the finish." Wine Spectator
"Aromatic nose of cherries, currants, some plums, dried thyme and undergrowth. Medium body with fine tannins. Velvety and multilayered with a flattering texture. Well balanced with a concentrated finish and excellent length." James Suckling

Wine Enthusiast is one of the most internationally renowned wine magazines and was founded in 1988 by the American wine enthusiasts and current owners Adam and Sybil Strum. In search of the world's most interesting wines, the fourteen annual issues of the lifestyle magazine deal with wine-related topics such as travel, food and events.
Published in the state of New York, Wine Enthusiast is aimed at wine lovers from all over the world, for whom a team of experts evaluates more than 25,000 international wines every year according to the 100-point scheme.
This 12-member tasting team was joined in 2013 by the American wine journalist Kerin O'Keefe, who - just like us - is interested in top Italian wines. Today, she heads the evaluation jury for Italian wines and is meanwhile also responsible for the Italian editorial team of Wine Enthusiast, where she also dedicates herself to lesser-known wine styles.
The magazine has become famous, among other things, for its Top 100 list of "Best Buys", which every year shows wine enthusiasts the way to the best-rated Italian wines under 15 dollars, whereas the "Editors Choice" section focuses on the highest qualities, regardless of price. And those who are still looking for Italy's most storable wines will find them, along with the recommended storage time, in the "Cellar Selection" list. SUPERIORE.DE
