Where the salty breezes of the Tyrrhenian Sea meet the last foothills of the Colline Metallifere, the Mediterranean character of this exceptional red wine unfolds in all its splendour. The name Mediterra says it all: it embodies the flavours of the Tuscan maquis and that enticing saltiness that only wines from the immediate vicinity of the sea are capable of developing.

This international cuvée comes from the privileged sites of the four vineyards of Poggio al Tesoro: Via Bolgherese, Valle di Cerbaia, Le Sondraie and Le Grottine. Each parcel contributes to the complexity of this wine with its specific soils, from stony terraces to mineral-rich mixtures of clay and sand. The high proportion of Syrah gives Mediterra that characteristic flavour that makes it the protagonist among Bolgheri's accessible red wines.

Bright ruby red in colour with violet hues. The bouquet reveals a fascinating palette of Mediterranean flavours: blackberries, plums and cherries blend with spicy notes of white pepper, sage and elegant herbal nuances from the coastal vegetation. Soft and mouth-filling on the palate, with a lively acidity that perfectly balances the warm power. The integration of the three grape varieties has been masterfully achieved: Syrah contributes spice and structure, Cabernet Sauvignon lends depth and tannin, while Merlot provides roundness and suppleness. The medium-long final is characterised by notes of dark chocolate and subtle Mediterranean herbs. Mediterra embodies the accessible style of international red wines that Marilisa Allegrini and her daughters Carlotta and Caterina are so fond of - powerful and full of character, but never overpowering.
