      This is the second vintage of a true random product. Paolo had actually intended to plant this 1.5 hectare small and sustainably cultivated vineyard with additional Moscato vines when he recognized the quality of the Barbera grapes ripening there in 2016. So he decided without further ado to vinify a Barbera, which he then aptly named "Per Sbaglio" - which means "by accident". We congratulate him on this decision, only 3,000 bottles of this wine are sold every year.

      Deep, sparkling ruby red. In the fragrance classic ripe raspberry notes, in the taste again red berries, on the palate very rounded, full-bodied and with great drinking flow. SUPERIORE.DE

      In contrast to the past, this full and fragrant Barbera is now aged to a greater extent in large oak barrels - and less in barriques. This benefits the softness, fruitiness and suppleness of this beautiful wine. Tre Vigne means that the grapes come in equal parts from the top sites Mosconi, Ginestra and San Pietro.       "The Domenico Clerico 2017 Barbera d'Alba Trevigne is a dark and exuberant wine with thick layers of blackberry and plum. The 2017 vintage is all about intensity and roundness, showing a quality of fruit that is ripe for sure, but is also nuanced, measured and cautious. The longer I kept my nose in the glass, I found a point of raisin or dried prune (that is typical of this vintage), but those ripe tones felt natural, not forced or pushed in any way. Fruit comes from three sites with different exposures: the west-facing San Pietro vineyard, northeast-facing Ginestra and south-facing Ciabot Mentin." Robert Parker

    Things to know aboutBarbera 

    The importance of the red Barbera grape in Piedmont and large parts of Lombardy can only be compared with the position of Sangiovese in central Italy. The Barbera is a robust vine. It is relatively hardy, insensitive to spring frosts and not particularly susceptible to disease. On top of that, it reliably generates economic returns. Because of the high growth strength, leaves and shoot tips have to be cut back several times in summer. The grapes do not ripen as late as those of Nebbiolo, but later than those of Dolcetto.

    Barbera wine is characterised by its intense ruby red colour and aromas often compared to wild cherries, violets or vanilla. Barbera produces wines with a low tannin content. However, the plants do not appear boring or flat because they are carried by a very strong acidity. The Barbera can retain this acidity during the ripening of the grapes, even at very high ripeness levels or during a rapid ripening process in hot climates. In combination with their fruitiness, successful Barbera wines therefore appear extremely full-bodied and rich. Among the most famous Barbera wines are the Barbera d'Alba, the Barbera d'Asti and the Barbera del Monferrato. In general, the Barbera d'Alba as the best. But the other two are hardly inferior, especially as the large DOC areas overlap at the edges and producers in these areas can choose how to label their wine. It is generally agreed that the vineyards located in the immediate vicinity of Alba and some scattered villages in the vicinity of Asti produce the best Barbera wines. SUPERIORE.DE
