“Oudeis” Metodo Classico Rosé de Saignée Alta Langa DOCG 2017 brut
"Oudeis" has its origin in the Greek name "Odysseus" and means "nobody". And indeed, no one but the outstanding terroir of the Alta Langa is responsible for the complexity of Enrico Serafino's sparkling wines.
Delicate, copper-coloured pink with orange reflections. Elegant and mineral nose, fruity in delicate hints, yeasty and with notes of grapefruit and redcurrants. The sensation on the palate is savoury, almost ecstatic, with well-integrated perlage and a perfect balance between spiciness and freshness and an infinite persistence and juiciness. SUPERIORE.DE

“Propago” Metodo Classico Blanc de Blancs Alta Langa DOCG 2017 extra brut
Straw yellow with golden reflections. The rich bouquet presents a fine and persistent scent of minerals, flowers and citrus fruits. Precise, refined and creamy in the drink, spicy, with a beautiful note of flint and pebbles. Everything seems perfectly balanced, almost weightless, fresh and long. On the palate, Propago proves to be in wonderful harmony with the nose, with a consistent flavourful reminiscence of citrus notes and a recurring subtle minerality. SUPERIORE.DE

Intense rose gold with beautiful brilliance. Deep nose of creamy strawberries, raspberries, currants and a warm floral scent with notes of brown bread. “Zero140” Metodo Classico Alta Langa Riserva DOCG 2008 pas dosé
Zero140 is Enrico Serafino's most extreme Alta Langa and at the same time the most impressive Italian Metodo Classico we have ever had in the glass. It represents the pinnacle of Enrico Serafino's Alta Langa project and sets an undisputed benchmark in Italy's world of méthode champenoise sparkling wines in terms of finesse and emotionality (and length of bottle ageing).
"Refining a bottle for 12 years means having 12 vintages in your own underground cellars at the same time. How can you recognise them? How do you make the complexity of such a special wine clear? We have chosen to paint the lower part of the bottles with a different colour for each vintage produced, marking the beginning of the remuage rotation on the glass. Moreover, the decision not to use the label underlines the complexity of the wine. This is why, in addition to the capsule required by law, on each bottle you will find only the jewel that represents our logo or the detail of a fossil from the Piedmont Tertiary, an unmistakable sign of the footprint that nature has left in nature over the centuries.
And finally, the choice of colours. The quality of our wines comes from nature. That's why we chose to be inspired by the theory of planets and colours. This links the sun, the nine planets, the moon and Ceres (dwarf planet) with the different colours that exist: 12 colours that identify and distinguish the 12 vintages of ZERO 140, which are refined in our cellars at the same time. Starting with the yellow of the sun, we continued with the green of Venus, trying to represent life in colours. The current vintage is 2008, it received the red dedicated to the planet Mars." Paolo Giacosa, Kellermeister
Pale gold in the glass. On the inviting, deliberately delicately reductive bouquet, poached pear, peach with toasted almonds and baked bread. On the palate of warm, rich texture and a never-ending soft and perfectly integrated perlage, which only exists when the wine is given time to mature. A lot of time. On the palate, then, an unrivalled complex, balanced, buttery and creamy texture, elegant and intense, with an invigorating fresh acidity to boot, followed by a deeply emotional mineral finish. This absolutely exceptional sparkling wine opens the doors of Fort Knox (and others) in the blink of an eye. Happy the one who can call a bottle of it his own. SUPERIORE.DE

In 1878, the then 23-year-old Enrico Serafino, heir to a wealthy family, fulfilled his dream and founded the eponymous winery in Canale d'Alba. In the midst of the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Lange Roero and Monferrato, the most typical regional wines of Piedmont have been fermented for over 140 years.
The winery cultivates about 60 hectares of vineyards, which are a true gift geologically and climatically and are the basis for wines of the highest quality. The subtropical climate provides ideal conditions, the gentle slope and moderate temperatures favor a controlled and high quality growth of the grapes. Red grape varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbara and Dolcetto or white varieties such as Arneis, Cortese and Moscato thrive on the slopes.
Thus, Enrico Serafino's wines are a perfect expression of Piedmontese craftsmanship: time-consuming vinification, elegant and multi-faceted. Tradition alone is not enough, of course, because to constantly improve requires dedication and foresight. Since 2015, the winery has been owned by Kyle Krause, a wine collector and dedicated businessman from the United States who is passionate about Piedmont thanks to his Italian heritage. He also owns the famous Vietti winery, which for decades has been undisputedly one of the best producers of Barbera and Barolo. SUPERIORE.DE
