• "Mandriolo" Rosso Toscana DOC 2018

      “Mandriolo” Rosso Toscana DOC 2018

Morisfarms does not deviate from the accustomed quality standard even when it comes to the entry-level wine, which can hardly be surpassed in its constancy. Freshness and relaxed sweetness are the strengths of the Rosso Maremma with the earthy fruit bouquet of cherry and plum and spicy notes in the finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright, bright ruby red. Very fresh and open nose, crunchy raspberry combined with juicy cherry. On the palate fresh and very juicy, opens on clear fruit, simple and drinkable, harmonious final, an appealing food companion with great value! Falstaff

“Flower Power” Rosato Toscana IGT 2019 (BIO)

The name says it all, as a Rosato is used here, which reminds us of the unconventional 1968s with its lightness and buoyancy. Pale pink in the glass, it exudes the scent of white fruit and almost dances into the fruity fresh finish. The overall impression is a cheerful and yet serious Rosato with a high drinking flow! Ample and vibrant, with terrific poise, the Vermentino has all of the qualities that make this vintage so appealing for whites - namely, the combination of fruit texture and energy. “Poggio Argentato” Bianco Toscana IGT 2018

Poggio Argentato is a beautifully balanced white with a French touch. In the nose a multi-layered bouquet with fine herbal notes. On the palate strong, fresh, elegant and carried by a mineral acidity, citrus tones in the aftertaste. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2018 Poggio Argentato is a fresh white that benefitted from a cool May and June and plenty of rain in August. The blend is 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Petit Manseng, 10% Traminer and 5% Semillon. Fermented in tonneaux, the wine has a very precise bouquet, although the mouthfeel still needs to take on more volume and weight. There are nice little aromas of white flowers and honeysuckle. About the region
    Tuscany | Maremma

The former marshland along the Tyrrhenian Sea coast is today a fertile area and a booming region in Italy's viticulture. After the success of the wineries in Bolgheri, the Italian wine-growers who were eager to invest looked around in the wider surroundings and discovered the coastal region of Livorno via Follonica and Grosseto, as well as the mountainous region behind it, which up to 600m above sea level enables wine growing in visual contact with the coast and the islands of Elba and Corsica.

Further over Scansano and Suvereto down to the peninsula Orbetello and recently also to the most southeastern part of the Maremma near Capalbio. This was called already in Roman time "Vallis Aurea"This is a golden valley, because here especially good soil and climatic conditions also allowed particularly good wines and fruits to grow.

The DOC areas of this region are: Ansonica Costa dell’Argentario, Bianco di Pitigliano, Maremma Toscana, Montecucco, Monteregio di Massa Marittima, Morellino di Scansano, Parrina, Sovana and Val di Cornia. This is also where some of the highest rated "supertuscans" like Monteverro, Redigaffi or Saffredi.

The speciality of the region is certainly the wonderful Morellino di Scansano, which consists of at least 85% Sangiovese and is comparable to a good Chianti Classico.

While in coastal areas the sea climate is warm and mild, at higher altitudes such as Montecucco, Val di Cornia or Monteregio di Massa Marittima there is often an extreme alternation between dry, hot days and cool, windy nights. On the coast, loamy-sandy soils can be found, in the hills stony, calcareous marl with little loamy-sandy deposit and volcanic soil, which often makes these wines very delicate and elegant.

Therefore, Sangiovese and Vermentino also dominate up here, while "below" is often planted on international grape varieties. Approximately 1,700 hectares are in the yield and result in approx. 7.5 million litres of wine per year.

Ampeleia (Elisabetta Foradori), Brancaia, Colle Massari, Duemani, Le Pupille (Elisabetta Geppetti), Monteverro, Morisfarms, Petra, Podere 414, Poggio al Lupo, Poliziano, Tenuta di Biserno, Tua Rita or Valdonica are just a few of the names from the Maremma that sound. SUPERIORE.DE
