Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2021 (BIO)
Poggio Landis Rosso di Montalcino is a fruit-driven, enjoyable red wine that offers all the prerequisites for great food pairing. It offers juicy freshness, spicy floral scents with a hint of sage, then a balanced, invigorating acidity and mild tannins on the palate. A delicious and energetic red with an excellent value for the noble region. SUPERIORE.DE
"A blend of savory herbs, leather and black cherries wafts up from the 2021 Rosso di Montalcino. It’s silky in texture, yet with a pronounced acidity that creates a reverberation of tension, as tart red fruits and mineral tones add further contrasts. The 2021 leaves a staining of primary concentration, along with a coating of fine tannins, while finishing with admirable length. Give this zesty Rosso at least a year in the cellar to even out a bit and blossom aromatically, as it has the balance to evolve very nicely." Vinous

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 (BIO)
The organic Brunello di Montalcino 2018 shows its graceful and delicate side, with wild cherries, blue flowers and warm earthiness. On the palate, the wine is silky and smooth, with hints of crushed minerals and limestone. The fresh acidity makes for a long but wonderfully elegant finish. The final is surprisingly fresh, almost juicy, with a subtle pull of youthful tannins and a hint of liquorice that slowly fades. Not a powerhouse, but a beautifully balanced Brunello of the vintage. SUPERIORE.DE
"Delivers cherry and strawberry fruit shaded by earth and spices, all backed by a line of compact, vibrating tannins. This red settled down with aeration, yet needs time to integrate, still tipping to the dry side in the balance." Wine Spectator
"A soft and refined Brunello from 2018 with creamy tannins and a caressing texture. It’s medium-bodied with lovely fruit and a fresh finish. Crushed seashells at the end." James Suckling
"The organic Poggio Landi 2018 Brunello di Montalcino does a great job at putting bright fruit in the spotlight, and this is not something that you can always say of its peers, especially in this challenging vintage. Red cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant sit at the core of this wine. Those tones are neatly framed by light spice, pressed rose and candied orange peel. This wine stand outs out in a crowd thanks to its lively primary intensity and its transparent Sangiovese characteristics. The close is lean and streamlined." Wine Advocate

Brunello di Montalcino “Chiuso del Lupo” DOCG 2018 (BIO)
Poggio Landi's top growth Chiuso del Lupo comes from a plot of one hectare at 550 m altitude. Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, ageing is in 30 hl French oak barrels. Deep dark ruby red. On the nose, dark, earthy forest and undergrowth, plus ripe forest berries with menthol and floral accents. The sweet, lush fruit is accompanied by a salty note, the tannins are expansive but not aggressive, but youthful and chewy. A wine that is made for the long haul and whose future will be great. SUPERIORE.DE
"A juicy and succulent red with plum and berry character, along with orange peel and spice. Full-bodied with creamy tannins that coat the mouth. Lots of fruit, but attractive firmness and brightness." James Suckling
"This red wine is rich, round and fruity, offering aromas of black cherries, blackberries, blackcurrants and spices. It shows a solid tannin structure, yet remains balanced and leaves the impression of ripe fruit." Wine Spectator
"Here is a new addition to the Poggio Landi portfolio, representing a small production of 6,000 bottles. The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Chiuso del Lupo is pressed from a one hectare parcel at an altitude of 550 metres above sea level and is a true delight and the proverbial diamond in the rough. The high altitude vines on the silty, clay-limestone Alberese soils really make the difference. The wine opens with a rich ruby colour that is vibrant and bright. The bouquet offers candied cherry, lilac, blood orange, cola and sweet earth. It stays true to the grape variety and offers added concentration, depth and complexity as it progresses. The wine finishes with soft, silky tannins. This wine is one of the great discoveries of the vintage." Wine Advocate

The Poggio Landi winery is located on the majestic Montosi hill in Montalcino and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside. The associated 74 hectares of vineyards pass by the most prestigious sites of the Denomination of Origin. 27 hectares of Sangiovese alone are dedicated to the production of the great Brunello di Montalcino, 15 hectares to the juicy, fruity Rosso di Montalcino.
The famous Tuscan family Cinelli Colombini sold the winery in December 2012 to the Argentinean billionaire Alejandro Bulgheroni, who already owns several wineries. With his group Alejandro Bulgheroni Family Vineyards (ABFV), he is represented practically all over the world: From South America to France to the USA and Australia, Bulgheroni has dedicated himself to the production of outstanding organic wines. A winery in one of the most characteristic terroirs in the world, such as Montalcino, could not be missing.
Bulgheroni calls the Tuscan wine-growing region a "treasure trove of biodiversity". His Sangiovese vines grow at altitudes between 180 and 500 metres, which results in different soil types and exposures. The relatively loose soils are mainly found in the lower altitudes, while the higher altitudes consist of limestone and marl. The Argentinian's extensive vineyard features an incredible variety of terroirs that are nevertheless located in one and the same area.
All the wineries in the Alejandro Bulgheroni Family Vineyards (ABFV) group share a unique production philosophy focused on excellent quality, sustainability and low environmental impact. Poggio Landi was fully converted to organic production methods immediately after the sale and has been certified since 2017.
"Our philosophy is to add value to every winery we own and its grapes, while creating jobs and economic and social development", explains young winemaker Giovanni Alberio, who is responsible for ABFV's Tuscan wineries. In the case of Poggio Landi, this means above all organic cultivation, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and a wine cellar entirely without barrique barrels. The flagship wine Brunello di Montalcino thus matures for 38 months in 54-hectolitre used French oak barrels, while the refined Rosso di Montalcino is refined in traditional concrete tanks.
It seems that Bulgheroni has chosen the right spot in southern Tuscany to further develop his great passion for exciting character wines. SUPERIORE.DE
