“Baccanera” Rosso Langhe DOC 2018
Baccanera is an aromatic Piedmontese cuvée of Barbera, Merlot, Nebbiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon. Noble, dark garnet with a delicately lightening rim. In the spicy fragrance notes of tobacco, plum and a hint of cloves. Complex and very delicate on the palate with fresh fruit, beautiful structure and well-integrated tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark ruby. Savoury meatiness that reminds me of Nebbiolo and with saline and cherry notes. Quite a bit of power underneath and with a peppery tingle. Full palate but savoury rather than fruit-driven and completely dry. Proper tannic grip on the finish. A winter warmer with lots of class and personality." Jancis Robinson
"Ripe blackcurrants and blackberries on the nose with a hint of ink. Full, intense flavors and tight, fine tannins, coated in fruity vanilla. Persistent finish." James Suckling

“Brolio” Chianti Classico DOCG 2019
Rich, dark shimmering ruby. Open-hearted, dense bouquet of blackberries, plums and a delicate hint of cloves in the background. Juicy on the palate, shows supple tannin, spreads nicely. Every year a great Chianti Classico with an exemplary price-quality ratio. SUPERIORE.DE
"Shiny, intense ruby. Finely marked nose with notes of dark cherry, some black truffle, fine plum. Polished, very fine-meshed tannin, showing fine cherry and raspberry, juicy, an exceedingly drinkable Chianti Classico." Falstaff
"Transparent garnet. Tangy and classic Sangiovese in which freshness of fruit overwhelms the fine tannin. Very appetising. A commendable standard-bearer. Some richness offsets the acidity." Jancis Robinson
"Once again, Brolio delivers a highly satisfying glass of Chianti Classico from the estate’s expansive vineyards in Gaiole. The 2019 is balsamic in personality with scents of cedar, thyme and rosemary weaving through dark cherry. Velvety, powdery tannins provide a gentle, structural grip, while crunchy, citrussy acidity cleanses the mouth." Decanter
"A succulent, fruity red with dried-cherry and orange-peel aromas and flavors. It’s medium-to full-bodied with fine yet round tannins and a juicy, fruity finish." James Suckling

Chianti Classico DOCG 2019
The Chianti Classico exudes beautiful fruit and spice notes, juicy and flattering on the palate. Successful - this classic from Castello di Monsanto foreshadows the style of the even greater reds from this winery. SUPERIORE.DE
"Powerful, bright ruby. Very fragrant and appealing nose, of ripe cherries and raspberries, with spicy rosemary behind. On the palate very polished in approach and course, very finely meshed, in the final lot of pressure and long reverberation." Falstaff
"Mid to deep crimson. A little closed on the nose with brooding ripe red fruit and hints of black pepper and cinnamon bark. Perfumed, tangy cherry fruit with firm, bitter-sweet tannins that make themselves felt on the finish, yet the whole is elegant and long." Jancis Robinson
"The 2019 Chianti Classico is a soft, easygoing wine to drink now and over the next decade or so. Hints of tobacco, cedar and dried herbs add complexity to the red cherry Sangiovese fruit. This attractive, silky Chianti Classico has so much to offer, but give it a few years first." Vinous
"Beautifully defined and pure, featuring black cherry, black currant, iron and wild rosemary aromas and flavors. Harmonious enough to enjoy now, yet will develop nicely over the next decade or two." Wine Spectator
"Sweet-berry, cherry and orange-peel aromas and flavors. Full-bodied with lightly chewy tannins and a fresh, vivid finish. A dusty mouth feel to it. Tangy at the end. So solid. Will age beautifully." James Suckling

Chianti Classico DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Lively ruby with light violet reflections, rich fruity aromas on the nose, very typical of wild berries and sour cherries. Fresh, balanced and well-structured on the palate, with silky tannins and spicy accents. A classic of the appellation. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich ruby with a slight violet shimmer. Opens with wild-spicy notes, after dark bread crust, then beetroot, some blueberries and plums. Blooms fully on the palate, lots of present fruit, juicy, after dark cherry, grippy tannin, has firm pressure." Falstaff
"Lustrous crimson. Concentrated cherry fruit with a hint of leather, saline minerally notes and a suggestion of oak. Racy concentrated cherry fruit layered with fine, grainy tannins. Mouth-watering and almost a little tart and with a long fragrant raspberry and dark-spice finish." Jancis Robinson
"Plums, spices, mushrooms and dried herbs on the nose. It’s full-bodied with fine tannins. Juicy and textured with tangy acidity and spicy character. Flavorful finish." James Suckling
"Owner Marco Ricasoli recalls the harvest of 2019 as unusually calm – one of the few in which he didn’t have to base his picking strategy on the weather forecast. While his wines never lack freshness, the 2019 is positively racy! Scents of blackberry and fennel are interlaced with smoke, and the palate brings together brambly fruit with fleshy red plum. This is mouthfilling and clean, with ripe, smooth tannins that are chalky textured - plus all of that vibrant acidity." Decanter
"The 2019 Chianti Classico is an elegant, polished wine. Lifted aromatics, silky tannins and mid-weight structure give the 2019 its gracious personality. In 2019, the Chianti Classico is a bit restrained and less overt than it can be. That means it needs time in bottle to truly blossom. I would cellar the 2019 for at least a few years. The 2019 is so distinctive." Vinous

“Vallenuova” Chianti Classico DOCG 2019
Chianti Classico Vallenuova has the potential to become a favourite wine. It is the archetypal expression of Sangiovese from a single vineyard, which could not be more typical and authentic. Lively, sparkling ruby, a little cedar and small wild berries on the nose, along with spices, beetroot and white pepper. On the palate, leather, tobacco and a hint of citrus fruit, in the final it presents itself pleasantly lean with a convincing, drinkable freshness. SUPERIORE.DE
"Serious, intense, many-layered nose. Very savoury and dense with great construction. Long and interesting with admirable depth. Hugely impressive wine. Very clean, fresh finish." Jancis Robinson
"Aromas of earth, and even barnyard, mingle with cherry and raspberry flavors in this dense, taut red. Though monolithic and austere, the fruit persists and matches the tannins in the end, where mineral and tobacco elements also emerge." Wine Spectator
"A fresh, tangy Chianti Classico with red berries and hints of orange peel. Medium body and a crisp finish." James Suckling

“Berardenga” Chianti Classico DOCG 2019
Sangiovese in pure culture: Radiant ruby red. Rich in fruity-floral aromas, multi-layered, herbaceous, deep and of good polish with further development potential. A full-bodied and harmonious Chianti-Classico of the most authentic kind. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby with a broad garnet rim. Intense and inviting nose, full of ripe raspberries, lots of plums, warm and round. Well ripened plum fruit on the palate, grippy, savoury tannin, raspberry on the final." Falstaff
"Mid ruby. Distinct chalky cherry nose with leafy green hints. Light of touch on the palate with lively raspberry and tangy cherry fruit and with chewy tannins on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"This is lively, its cherry, strawberry and orange peel flavors picking up earth and woodsy accents. Firm tannins sweep in on the finish, yet this stays fresh and long." Wine Spectator
"One of the best vantage points for drinking Chianti Classico is at the entry level. A wine like the Fèlsina 2019 Chianti Classico Berardenga offers so much freshness and cheerful, easy-drinking appeal. It's a terrific partner to pizza, pasta or basically anything on the trattoria menu tonight. This wine shows bright cherry flavors and redcurrant with pressed flowers and some tangy blood orange. It is steady and generous, with lots of bright primary intensity." Robert Parker
"At the southeastern limit of Chianti Classico, Fèlsina’s expansive vineyards look towards Montalcino. The annata is assembled from various parcels rising from 320 to 420 metres on rocky calcareous soil with layers of sandstone. As usual, it is more earthy than fruity, bringing in evocative accents of violet, liquorice and pepper. The palate is superbly textured with fine, grainy tannins providing a sensuous grip. Dark fruited and tangy with admirable depth, it will drink well now and over the next decade. Finishes with a sprinkle of cinnamon." Decanter
"A beautiful, creamy red with cherry and chocolate character. Hints of dried earth. It’s medium-to full-bodied with creamy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. shows firmness and tension. Very drinkable now, but will improve beautifully with age." James Suckling
"The 2019 Chianti Classico Berardenga is a classic wine for the year. Bright, perfumed and light on its feet, the 2019 Chianti Classico Berardenga is so wonderfully expressive. There is a feeling of vibrancy to the 2019 that is hugely appealing. A wine of energy more than power. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon linger in a gorgeous Chianti Classico that is more about transparency than power." Vinous
"This smooth, delicious red opens with enticing scents of woodland berries, star anise, crushed mint and graphite. Polished and elegantly structured, the juicy palate delivers crushed raspberry, ripe red cherry and baking spice set against taut, refined tannins." Wine Enthusiast

Chianti Classico DOCG 2019
Classic Chianti Classico from stainless steel tanks with a rich and intense bouquet of black cherries, fresh plums, menthol and liquorice. Full-bodied on the palate, but not voluminous, very Sangiovese-typical. Clearly structured, of pure texture and long. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium red; rather restrained-fruity; juicy approach, caramel fruit, good tannin, good length, drinkable, very pleasant." Merum
"Transparent garnet. That floral note on the nose again, followed by real Sangiovese edginess and energy. Lots of drive. Persistent." Jancis Robinson
"As always with Brancaia’s Chianti Classicos, this brings together fruit from the estate’s original holdings in Castellina with grapes from its Radda property. The 2019 really expresses the high altitude, cooler microclimate of the latter with fragrant florals, fresh mint and crisp red berries. It is vibrant, fluid and quenching in its acidity, while dusty red cherry and fine chalky tannins add intrigue. I love the purity of this 100% unoaked Sangiovese." Decanter
"A beautiful Chianti Classico with blackberry, black-cherry and light chocolate character. Medium to full body, round and polished tannins and a long finish. So delicious now." James Suckling

“Le Cinciole” Chianti Classico DOCG 2017 (BIO)
Floral aromas and the scent of bright red fruits, with undertones of tobacco, foliage and menthol, which develop in the glass into a successful terroir wine that preserves the fragrance and primary aromas of the young Sangiovese. Pleasantly medium-bodied and authentic. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep, youthful ruby. Balsamic cherry nose with hints of tobacco leaf and cherry liqueur. Succulent ripe cherry fruit with tangy acidity and quite firm tannins - they are the give-away of the torrid 2017 vintage, but nothing else. Great length and depth." Jancis Robinson
"Made with organically farmed Sangiovese, this opens with subtle aromas of black-skinned berry, scorched earth and cooking spice. The savory palate offers black cherry, clove and tobacco alongside fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"Le Cinciole's latest release, the 2017 offers tremendous freshness with beautiful restraint. After ageing for one year in 20hL French oak, this refines for a further 12 months in cement before bottling. It is slightly wilder and decidedly darker in its nuances than the 2016, with enticing lavender, black cherry, liquorice and a touch of leather. The palate is fairly dense, with appropriately grippy tannins lending support. It leaves the mouth clean, refreshed and satisfied." Decanter
"Rich cherries and berries on the nose with hints of fresh oak and sage-like herbs, following through to a fullish palate with plump fruit, quite firm tannins and a bright mineral finish." James Suckling
"The 2017 Chianti Classico is a gorgeous, inviting wine. Pliant fruit and soft contours give the 2017 so much immediacy and appeal. Silky tannins wrap around a core of dark red cherry while spice, new leather and sweet pipe tobacco infuse the 2017 with tremendous character. The 2017 is such a beautiful and inviting wine. Wow!" Chianti Classico DOCG 2019 (BIO)
The Chianti Classico from Istine is one of the most racy and pure representatives of its genre. Its weightlessness and at the same time precision make up a large part of its charm. Finely knitted bouquet of red berry fruits, flowers, chalk and white pepper. Medium-bodied on the nose, with further aeration its fine fruit, creamy tannins and plenty of personality come to light. A red that takes hearts by storm with its lively, lilting and extremely fine-nerved character! SUPERIORE.DE
"Mid crimson. Concentrated, complex nose of dark fruit and sweet raspberry with a hint of iron and damp earth. Succulent cherry fruit lined with grainy tannins and a final kick of acidity on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"Cherry and strawberry flavors are pure and focused, with a touch of rose and rosemary accents. This is firm and balanced, with a persistent finish echoing the fruit and herb notes." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Chianti Classico is a classy, polished wine that needs time to fully come into its own, as the aromatics are not at all expressive, and that is such a big part of what makes Chianti Classico so distinctive. Today, the wine's energy and vibrancy are both notable, but it is clearly very early days for this bottling." Vinous
"This lovely, easy-drinking red has aromas of rose, berry and spice. Reflecting the nose, the bright, savory palate doles out juicy strawberry, red cherry and star anise set against taut, lithe tannins." Wine Enthusiast

“Crognolo” Rosso Toscana IGT 2018
Dark fruits form the backbone of its aromatic body, to which a moderately dosed floral and balsamic perfume lends additional charm and freshness. The dense flavour is coherent, exuding its spiciness in a relaxed manner while revealing a fine tannic grid. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright rich ruby with violet. Spicy-scented nose, of sugared violets, ripe Amarena cherry and lush plums, subtle pepper spice. On the palate with a slight melt and some juiciness, medium-bodied, also spicy, minimal aftertaste in the finish." Falstaff
"Mid to deep ruby. Austere sour-cherry nose of great appeal and with notes of black pepper. Tangy and succulent at the same time. Plenty of concentration yet not heavy. Supple red-fruit finish with long chewy tannins. Plenty of elegance." Jancis Robinson
"A beam of bright cherry permeates this round, supple red. Raspberry, earth, iron and tobacco notes play supporting roles, while dusty tannins prevail on the finish." Wine Spectator
"This is a nicely balanced wine that offers the tangy freshness and acidity of the first grape ironed out and softened by that smaller percentage of the second. The wine is redolent of cherry, blackberry and plum. Its primary intensity is bright and cheerful. The finish shows pretty thickness, extraction and nicely integrated tannins." Robert Parker
"Aromas of currants, flowers and orange blossom follow through to a full body with very fine tannins that are tight and polished. Beautiful length and polish." James Suckling

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2017 (BIO)
Strong ruby red, as expected from a good traditionally and organically produced wine. A wonderful, elegant and open-hearted aroma spectrum between sour cherry and nutmeg. Clear and savoury on the palate, beautifully balanced and with plenty of youthful freshness on the long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, sparkling ruby red. Hearty, inviting nose, of dried goji berries, raspberries, fine spice, dried rose petal in the finish. Dense on the palate at first with lovely juiciness, stretches across the tongue with fine pressure, savoury, minimal tasting on the final." Falstaff
"Youthful mid ruby. Minerally ripe red-fruit nose. Tangy sour-cherry palate with rich but finely grained tannins. Juicy energetic finish of sour cherry and red fruit. Elegant and firmly structured." Jancis Robinson
"The 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva is laced with cinnamon, blood orange, wild cherry, tobacco and incense, all of which give it a decidedly exotic flair. The 2017 is a rich, dense Riserva, but I would prefer to drink it on the airy side, before it starts to lose its freshness and vibrancy." Vinous

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2017 (BIO)
Monica Raspi produces her Riserva from a single vineyard with the oldest vines of the winery, planted in 2000. The east-facing vineyard is at an altitude of 350 metres and the soil is poor and stony with many limestone deposits. With its subtle bouquet, it slowly but surely seduces with aromas of raspberries, cherries and thyme flowers. The palate is wonderfully elegant, with a stony minerality and a tangy, appetising backbone. Terracotta-like tannins sneak up and envelop the fruit rather than undermine it. This is how pristine and good Chianti Classico Riserva goes! SUPERIORE.DE
"Mid to deep ruby. Finely spiced nose but rather closed on the fruit. Generous but focused fruit palate, and a layer of coating tannins gives the whole shape. Very dense yet balanced." Jancis Robinson
"The 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva offers up a compelling mélange of kirsch, raspberry, cedar, spice and mint. The radiance of the vintage comes through, and yet there is plenty of Sangiovese acidity and grip to balance things out. The 2017 Riserva is another terrific showing from Pomona." Vinous
"Cherry, raspberry and floral flavors are the main themes in this red, with supporting notes of iron, tar and Tuscan scrub. Burly tannins also emerge on the finish, yet this stays balanced and long." Wine Spectator

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2016
A beautiful traditional wine of the Chianti Classico. The bouquet of wild berries, undergrowth, herbs and spices is broad and multi-faceted, the full flavour with beautiful energy, fidelity to the terroir and considerable persistence. SUPERIORE.DE
"Spicy berry aromas, also pepper notes; pithy on the palate, tannins powerful, convincing final on notes of wild berries, tobacco and herbs. Should be enjoyed with a game dish." Vinum
"Lustrous ruby with orange tinges. Lifted and almost aromatic cherry fruit nose with hints of gingerbread and cumin. Sumptuous cherry fruit palate cut through by lots of tangy acidity and with crunchy tannins. Long succulent cherry fruit with plenty of stuffing on the finish. A well-wrought wine from an excellent vintage." Jancis Robinson
"Mature yet elegant and complex black fruits, spicy, dried herbs, sweet tobacco nose. Noble tannins with a robust texture, fresh finish." Decanter
"Blackberries, dark cherries and flowers on the nose and palate. Full-bodied and very cool with compact, linear tannins. Racy and structured." James Suckling
"Rich, with a vibrant backbone of acidity and tannins uplifting black cherry, blackberry and violet flavors. Dense and a bit restrained on the finish, this nevertheless lingers on the aftertaste, revealing floral, dark berry fruit and a streak of iron." Wine Spectator

“Vigna Montebello Sette” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2016
Stylistically balanced, very finesse-rich Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from a small single vineyard (vineyard no. 7) in the Castelnuovo-Berardenga area, where temperatures are always somewhat higher than in the rest of Chianti Classico.
Dark shining ruby. Elegant bouquet of the single-varietal Sangiovese of red berries with very delicate tobacco notes. Salty on the palate, shows a lot of pressure, very clear, compact fruit, builds up with tightly woven tannin, very intense and long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep ruby. Seductive nose of sour cherry with a pinch of oak. Elegant palate with sour-cherry fruit. Quite a lot of concentrated red fruit but it bodes well for the future. Velvety tannins and fantastic balance." Jancis Robinson
"Aromas of plum, underbrush, tobacco and French oak mingle with a whiff of violet. The enveloping palate features ripe black cherry, roasted coffee bean and licorice alongside close-grained, drying tannins that clench the finish." Wine Enthusiast
"Lots of ripe, juicy fruit with dried-strawberry, plum, bark and chocolate character. Full-bodied with round tannins and a savory finish. More fruit-driven style for the appellation." James Suckling
"Cherry, rose, iron and tobacco aromas and flavors are the hallmarks of this vibrant, elegant red. Balanced and firmly structured, ends with a long, mouthwatering finish that echoes bright fruit and mineral notes." Wine Spectator
"The 2016 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna Montebello Sette is another terrific wine in this range from Tolaini. Bright, punchy and translucent, the 2016 is super-expressive from start to finish. Sweet red cherry, mint, orange peel, spice and rose petal are all nicely lifted in a wine loaded with character." Vinous
"Set aside some time and a steak Diane recipe (with cream and cognac) for the Tolaini 2016 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Montebello Sette. It is a gorgeous creation showing enormous depth, elegance and textural fiber all at once. The bouquet opens to wild flowers, cassis and blueberries with smoke, tobacco and potting soil. This is a silky and nuanced wine that shows mid-weight intensity and silky tannins on the close." Robert Parker

“Filetta di Lamole” Chianti Classico DOCG 2018 (BIO)
Filetta di Lamole comes from selected Lamole vineyards of the Giovanni Manettis family and was vinified for the first time in 2015. A multi-layered, elegant Chianti Classico that nuances its aromas and has a fascinating structure. Ruby red with light reflections. Multi-layered bouquet of cherry, then some tarry notes, violets and forest flowers. You can recognise Fontodi's signature in this wine, and yet it is different because it is more subtle and restrained in its use of available strengths. A wonderful new addition to the Fontodi portfolio, which underlines all the more the class and versatility of the winery. SUPERIORE.DE
"Delicately shimmering garnet with a dark core. In the fragrance spicy nuances of cardamom and laurel, in addition Amarena cherries and wormwood, dark cocoa on the nose. Builds up nicely on the palate, wraps itself in a sturdy tannin dress, shows good pressure and line, nevertheless fresh, balanced in itself, with a rich aftertaste in the fruity finish." Falstaff
"Lustrous garnet. Classic Sangiovese nose with lift, tang and something definitely agricultural. Then pretty polished on the palate with some sweetness. A remarkably juicy Chianti Classico with plenty of fruit on the mid palate despite the elevation." Jancis Robinson
"The organic 2018 Chianti Classico Filetta di Lamole sources its fruit from a cooler growing site that is very different from the sun-drenched basin known as the Conca d'Oro in Panzano. Vineyards in Lamole are perched at a higher elevation, at a breezy 600 meters above sea level, and the soils see a greater presence of sandstone. This wine shows lots of brightness and resonance over a snappy, lean-bodied style. The bouquet delivers blue flower, wild cherry and rose." Robert Parker
"Rich and dense, with grainy tannins supporting the black cherry and plum fruit. Wild herb, tar and earth flavors chime in on the chalky finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Chianti Classico Filetta di Lamole is pliant and super-expressive. In this vintage, the Lamole has a touch more textural richness than in the past, which is quite inviting. Dark cherry, plum, spice and lavender build into silky, perfumed finish. The 2018 spent 18 months in cask. It's a gorgeous effort from the Manetti family." Vinous
"Complex aromas of sweet berries, tobacco and mushrooms with some floral undertones. Full-bodied with very tight, polished tannins and cedar, mahogany and dark fruit on the finish. Lots of transparent fruit at the end." James Suckling

Chianti Classico DOCG 2018
Montefili's Chianti Classico is refined and captivating. Black and sour cherries, tobacco, smoked meat and dried tomatoes play around the nose. On the palate, it is firm, deep and marches purposefully with its blue-black fruits, spices, new leather, liquorice and dark spices into an intense and rich final. The ultra-fine tannins complete the overall picture of a most remarkable Chianti Classico. SUPERIORE.DE
"Impenetrable crimson - seems to herald lots of new oak. Deep rich cherry fruit with hints of apple peel and notes of new oak. Bags of tangy cherry fruit that is a little mouth-watering and a rich layer of sandy tannins. Full-on but irresistible although the new-oak load seems to speed up its evolution." Jancis Robinson
"A savory nose, driven by roasted herbs with red and black cherries as well. Saline-mineral palate with fine, firm tannins. Dried flowers come through." James Suckling
"The 2018 Chianti Classico is fabulous. Rich, deep and wonderfully expansive, the 2018 is captivating from the very first taste. A rush of blue/blackish fruit, spice, new leather, licorice and dark spice saturates the palate. In 2018, the Chianti Classico is deep and especially concentrated, but it all works so well. Readers will find a wine of uncommon power, intensity and richness. The 2018 is a big wine, there is no question about it, and yet the 15% alcohol is not especially evident." Vinous

“Passobianco” Terre Siciliane IGT 2019
Passobianco is an elegant Chardonnay with a beautiful, clear bouquet of aromas of peach blossom, tangerine, pineapple, bright berries and mineral notes. Lush, generous taste, full body, sensual texture, long and with memories of macadamia and banana the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Discreet golden yellow with green shimmer. Flint on the nose, fresh meadow herbs, then opens up to white peach and lime blossom. Hits the palate with pressure, tightly meshed with a lively course, shows fine acidity, finesse-rich in character, smooth finish on fine stone fruit nuances." Falstaff
"Straw yellow. Concentrated, deep and alluring white- and citrus-fruit nose with hints of kumquat and papaya. Orange and lemon palate with bitter-almond notes on the finish. Long and a little linear and with plenty of substance." Jancis Robinson

“Carminium” Carménère Colli Berici DOC 2017
The clay content in the forest soils of this incredible, almost untouched area around Oratorio di San Lorenzo gives the wine a unique note. Rich red with blue-violet reflections. Intense on the nose with notes of medicinal herbs, ripe red berries, blood orange, pepper and spices. Then very precise and clear on the palate with dark fruits, a delicious spiciness and tannins that are still firm when young. Already seductive today and then elegant and silky with increasing bottle maturity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Shimmering ruby red with violet reflections. Opens on wild thyme, red pepper and tarragon, paired with black currant and orange zest. Juicy on the palate, full-bodied, densely meshed, compact at the core, impresses with elegant herbal spice and lovely depth, goes into the long finish with vigour, great interpretation." Falstaff
"New-generation wine! Less new oak, and a red wine but no longer from white winemakers as Inama themselves describe it. To achieve that they hired French consultant Derenoncourt. Impenetrable dark ruby. Oak-styled nose with tight, dark fruit. The palate shows great depth, bitter-sweet tannins and a shimmer of oak. Very polished and suave and, there is no other way of putting it, very French." Jancis Robinson
"The 2017 Carménère Carminium is dark and brooding in its youthful state, with an alluring display of crushed blackberries, sage, chalk dust, white pepper and a cooling hint of mint. Deeply textural, yet also surprisingly lifted and spry, it casts staining red and purple-tinged berries across a core of saline minerals and zesty acids, as saturating tannin mounts toward the close. There are unseen depths here, as layer after layer of primary fruit nearly masks the wine’s structural heft, tapering off classically dry with violet florals and rich savory spice. The 2017 is only the third vintage of the single-vineyard Carminium, a Carménère that’s packed full of cool-climate varietal character. If this showing is any indicator of the source’s potential, then I’ll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for future vintages." Vinous

“RADICE” Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2020 secco · MAGNUM
Out with the cliché, in with the surprise! The Paltrinieris' most famous Lambrusco growth will also fill every connoisseur with joy. Radice is produced using the Pét Nat method (Metodo Ancestrale) and therefore undergoes a second fermentation on its own yeast after bottling.
This naturally cloudy, dry Frizzante already convinces in the bouquet with notes of rhubarb, a fresh citrus note and a little bread. The persistent, fine perlage and its drinky nature make it a racy companion to hearty, spicy antipasti, light meat dishes or simply an upbeat celebration surrounded by nature and happy people. SUPERIORE.DE
"Cloudy orange. In the nose yeast, lemon juice, in the reverberation even blossom honey. On the palate, very straightforward, steely, with prominent acidity and tightly meshed perlage, bone dry, accompanies supreme drinking pleasure with oily salumi." Falstaff
"Pet-nat style of Lambrusco. Cloudy guava pink. Smells of dried rose buds, marshmallows, Turkish delight, blood orange. Bone, bone dry. Like the crunch of French breakfast radishes served with bitter orange and sour cherry. Herbal. Super-tart but wonderfully refreshing. Needs some fatty fennel-and-truffle salami to go with it!" Jancis Robinson
"The 2020 Lambrusco di Sorbara Radice presents a savory display of dusty rose, ginger and sour melon. It's silky-smooth and textural, as a tug-of-war between sweet and sour plays out upon the senses. Minerals, tart apples, wild herbs and spices resonate throughout, as this finishes long yet with cheek-puckering freshness. The decidedly dry Radice is made from the Sorbara grape, which is re-fermented to dryness in bottle, creating a frizzante style." Vinous

“Maglen” Pinot Nero Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2018
Maglen, the Riserva made from Pinot Noir, has class. Full-bodied, persistent and full of tension, it delights with its forest berry aroma and beautiful herbal spiciness in nose and mouth. Very elegant and polished on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark shining ruby red. Perfumed and fragrant on the nose with floral hints, ripe cherry and ripe raspberries, reverberating with fine wood. On the palate, polished core with great density, taut, concentrated and precise, with noticeable wood in the finish." Falstaff
"The fruit on this is extraordinary - on the nose and the palate. Jewelled and as lovely as the evening sun streaming through a stained-glass window in a little stone chapel. Intense purity and clarity and razor-sharp focus with a combination of ripeness that can only come from long hours of bright sunlight and sculpted, long, stony freshness that can only come from cold mountain nights. Well, well worth the price." Jancis Robinson
"Elegant aromatics of red plum, pomegranate, black tea and star anise, palate is graced with balsamic, red fruit and spiced oak." Decanter
"Pronounced licorice, black-pepper and smoky aromas, as well as fresh black cherry. Good depth and a nice structure with some interesting, earthy and spicy notes. The finish is very harmonious." James Suckling
"This wine is new to my annual tasting repertoire and represents an exciting new discovery from Cantina Tramin. The 2018 Alto Adige Pinot Noir Riserva Maglen opens to a mid-weight approach and a nice sense of concentration that remains impactful but elegant at the same time. The wine is redolent of cherry, cassis, pressed violets and blood orange. There are some distant notes of earth and smoke with crushed rock as well." Robert Parker

“Contrada S. Spirito” Rosso Etna DOC 2017
Brilliant, brightening ruby garnet. Spicy notes of wild berries, liquorice, flint and traces of thyme on the nose. Beguiling extract sweetness on the palate, plus a juicy freshness and finely meshed, tight tannins. In the final, fine salty components, overall already very polished and supple with further interesting ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Cask sample. Pale crimson. Deep cherry fruit nose with a hint of oak. On the palate it combines lightness of touch of raspberry and cherry fruit and a charge of dark, spicy tannins. Embryonic and in need of further ageing." Jancis Robinson
"A chewy, flavorful Etna red with plum, light prune and rust aromas and flavors. Full body. Juicy finish." James Suckling
"Another 2017 release of 4,000 bottles and also from pre-phylloxera Nerello Mascalese vines, the Pietradolce 2017 Etna Rosso Contrada Santo Spirito is really quite beautifully balanced and composed in the vintage, more so than I would have expected given some of the excessive heat that came during the summer months. With fruit from a vineyard site in Castiglione di Sicilia, the wine reveals a polished, dark ruby appearance with lighthearted aromas of sour cherry and tart cassis. Those delicate berry embellishments are wrapped around spice, mineral and earth." Robert Parker
