• "Keya" Chiaretto Bardolino Classico DOC 2020

“Keya” Chiaretto Bardolino Classico DOC 2020

Keya is the impressive result of several years of experimental work, and the result is a rosato that perfectly expresses the style and personality of the Rizzardi sites in the hills above Bardolino. The label pays homage to the Venetian heritage of the Contessa M.C. Loredan, she ran the winery for many years and was instrumental in making Chiaretto Bardolino a much-loved wine classic of the region. The name is derived from the first two syllables of Chi-a-ret-to (KEY-A). Bright pink-red. On the nose, a delicate aroma of lemon, blood orange and elderberries. Fresh on the palate, with well-integrated acidity, dry and full of character on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright, light old pink. Fine and fragrant nose, of fresh flowers, plus some sour cherry and raspberry. Round and supple on the palate, delicate at the start, then gains in fullness, fine raspberry fruit, flows quietly along." Falstaff

"Touch of rosiness in the colour of this one. Ultra-crisp white citrus, cooking apples dipped in white pepper and crushed raspberries. The acidity in this wine is electrifying. So racy it tastes as if it's breaking the speed limit in your mouth. Pomegranate pith. Very appetising. I'd love to try this with a spicy Turkish ezme salad!" Jancis Robinson

"The 2020 Bardolino Chiaretto Classico Keya opens up with delicate notes of peach skin, dried orange peel and dusty florals. It's soft and enveloping with a soothing display of ripe melon and cooling herbal tones. The Keya tapers off incredibly long while maintaining vibrancy, as lingering minerality slowly fizzles out under an air of tropical citrus." Vinous

    • "Pedraia" Nuragus di Cagliari DOC 2020

“Pedraia” Nuragus di Cagliari DOC 2020

A nuanced bouquet of yellow fruits, which constantly exudes new facets and aromas in the glass. On the palate, a great structure with a crisp bite and lots of fresh berry fruit. Long, soft and very pleasant finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"Delicate straw yellow. In the nose a discreet citrus note, a hint of nutmeg, white pepper and white flowers. Delicately melting on the palate, with a creamy touch, slightly salty mid-palate, minimal bitterness in the fruit on the final." Falstaff

"White peaches, white pears, a touch of jasmine. Light fruit, light florals, and a wine that is the perfect white canvas to bright, sea-salt-sunshine-sculpted foods." Jancis Robinson

"The 2020 Nuragus di Cagliari Pedraia lifts up to show dusty florals, lime zest and crushed raw almonds. It's soft and round in texture as well as pleasantly sweet, offering notes of ripe nectarine, kiwi and a zing of gingery spice. Tropical fruits resonate throughout the finale as residual acids slowly fizzle out. This is simply a pleasure to taste." Vinous

“Antigua” Monica di Sardegna DOC 2020

Intense aroma of ripe, fleshy red fruits, elderberries and roasted coffee. Warm, enveloping and full-bodied, unfolds with a lot of fruit melting and soft tannin. SUPERIORE.DE

"Very light nose. pepcranberry fruit slashed with sorrel-leaf greens. Cheeky bitterness. Nippy builder's-brew astringency on wiry little tannins. This is fun! I could just imagine this, very slightly chilled, with a bowl of fregola con arselle, or, if you're far from Sardinian shores, a chilli and tomato pasta with loads of fresh olive oil and fresh basil leaves. Surprisingly thirst-quenching." Jancis Robinson

    • "TM" Rosé Toscana IGT 2019

      “TM” Rosé Toscana IGT 2019

Delicate pale old pink, in the nose apricot, yellow fruit and pink grapefruit. Delicate and fresh with a soft structure, which makes this impressively elegant Rosato from predominantly Merlot the perfect companion for mild Mediterranean dishes and seafood. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2019 T.M. Rosé is fresh yet also quite earthy, leaning toward savory herbs and crushed stone minerality, as notes of young strawberry and pretty florals come forward. On the palate, soft textures give way to a mix of ripe red berries and melon tones, carried by brisk acids. It finishes a bit short, yet with a mouthwatering, almost-salty quality, which just begs you to take another sip. There may not be unseen depths here, but the 2019 Tenuta Monteti is ready to give a lot of pleasure." Falstaff

"Quite zesty with a bit more structure than a typical Provence rose. Good food wine with something to get your teeth into. A satisfying rosé for the table." Jancis Robinson

    • Brachetto d'Acqui DOC 2020 (frizzante)

      Brachetto d’Acqui DOC 2020 (frizzante)

An elementary part of the Piedmontese drinking culture and probably one of the most underestimated wines in Italy: Light ruby red (with cherry-red foam), the clearly effervescent Brachetto d'Acqui presents itself. The bouquet is very aromatic with notes of nutmeg, rose and violets. The taste is extremely elegant, reminiscent of strawberries, round and finely balanced between mild sweetness and fruity, very refreshing astringency. SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright purple, silver reflections, lush bouquet on the nose, notes of ripe red berries and roses. Juicy on the palate, silky texture, delicate and delicately tingling taste, fine sweetness underpinned with salty minerality on the finish. At 5.5%, a tremendously light-footed drinking pleasure." Falstaff

"Palest ruby. Perfumed, sweet, flowery nose of wild strawberry, raspberry and with a hint of rose petals and spice. Sweet yet fresh, medium-sweet strawberry fruit palate. Perfect for elevenses or a pick-me-up during the day." Jancis Robinson

    • "RADICE" Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2020 secco

“RADICE” Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2020 secco

Out with the cliché, in with the surprise! The Paltrinieris' most famous Lambrusco growth will also fill every connoisseur with joy. Radice is produced using the Pét Nat method (Metodo Ancestrale) and therefore undergoes a second fermentation on its own yeast after bottling.

This naturally cloudy, dry Frizzante already convinces in the bouquet with notes of rhubarb, a fresh citrus note and a little bread. The persistent, fine perlage and its drinky nature make it a racy companion to hearty, spicy antipasti, light meat dishes or simply an upbeat celebration surrounded by nature and happy people. SUPERIORE.DE

"Cloudy orange. In the nose yeast, lemon juice, in the reverberation even blossom honey. On the palate, very straightforward, steely, with prominent acidity and tightly meshed perlage, bone dry, accompanies supreme drinking pleasure with oily salumi." Falstaff

"Pet-nat style of Lambrusco. Cloudy guava pink. Smells of dried rose buds, marshmallows, Turkish delight, blood orange. Bone, bone dry. Like the crunch of French breakfast radishes served with bitter orange and sour cherry. Herbal. Super-tart but wonderfully refreshing. Needs some fatty fennel-and-truffle salami to go with it!" Jancis Robinson

"The 2020 Lambrusco di Sorbara Radice presents a savory display of dusty rose, ginger and sour melon. It's silky-smooth and textural, as a tug-of-war between sweet and sour plays out upon the senses. Minerals, tart apples, wild herbs and spices resonate throughout, as this finishes long yet with cheek-puckering freshness. The decidedly dry Radice is made from the Sorbara grape, which is re-fermented to dryness in bottle, creating a frizzante style." Vinous

The vineyards at an altitude of over 800m have an ideal southern exposure and, with their special microclimate, provide the grapes for a wine of great aromatic depth, which rightly belongs to the best representatives of its grape variety from the Dolomite region. It is only released on the market after a further 12 months of ageing in the bottle and is only produced in the best vintages.

Intense light yellow. Fresh fruits on the nose, including green apple and bitter orange, lime blossom and the notes of nutmeg typical of the grape variety. Fresh on the palate, equipped with a lively fruit-acid play, this wine presents itself with a finesse that convinces us completely. SUPERIORE.DE

"Straw yellow. Fresh nose with aromatic pear notes and mandarin pith. Gentle and not hugely intense pear and mandarin palate. The moderate acidity strikes a good balance. Fragrant, fresh finish. Appetising aperitif style." Jancis Robinson

“Etichetta Blu” Chianti Classico DOCG 2018

The Chianti Classico with the blue label is a solid, well-balanced wine with a lot of personality. Black cherry, blackberry and spice tones on the nose. Immediate and straightforward on the palate, with dark fruit and firm tannins. Straightforward drinking pleasure at a high level! SUPERIORE.DE

"Dark crimson with a ruby rim. Lovely lift, with a strangely but agreeably fishy note on the nose! Really convincing wine with a beginning, middle and end. Real vitality. Strangely, despite the high elevation, this seems denser than most of its peers. Long. Just so agreeable and appetising. Hint of chestnut." Jancis Robinson

    • Chianti Classico DOCG 2019 (BIO)

      Chianti Classico DOCG 2019 (BIO)

Lively ruby with light violet reflections, rich fruity aromas on the nose, very typical of wild berries and sour cherries. Fresh, balanced and well-structured on the palate, with silky tannins and spicy accents. A classic of the appellation. SUPERIORE.DE

"Lustrous crimson. Concentrated cherry fruit with a hint of leather, saline minerally notes and a suggestion of oak. Racy concentrated cherry fruit layered with fine, grainy tannins. Mouth-watering and almost a little tart and with a long fragrant raspberry and dark-spice finish." Jancis Robinson

"Plums, spices, mushrooms and dried herbs on the nose. It's full-bodied with fine tannins. Juicy and textured with tangy acidity and spicy character. Flavorful finish." James Suckling

"Owner Marco Ricasoli recalls the harvest of 2019 as unusually calm - one of the few in which he didn't have to base his picking strategy on the weather forecast. While his wines never lack freshness, the 2019 is positively racy! Scents of blackberry and fennel are interlaced with smoke, and the palate brings together brambly fruit with fleshy red plum. This is mouthfilling and clean, with ripe, smooth tannins that are chalky textured - plus all of that vibrant acidity." Decanter

"The 2019 Chianti Classico is an elegant, polished wine. Lifted aromatics, silky tannins and mid-weight structure give the 2019 its gracious personality. In 2019, the Chianti Classico is a bit restrained and less overt than it can be. That means it needs time in bottle to truly blossom. I would cellar the 2019 for at least a few years. The 2019 is so distinctive." Vinous

      “Vallenuova” Chianti Classico DOCG 2019

Chianti Classico Vallenuova has the potential to become a favourite wine. It is the archetypal expression of Sangiovese from a single vineyard, which could not be more typical and authentic. Lively, sparkling ruby, a little cedar and small wild berries on the nose, along with spices, beetroot and white pepper. On the palate, leather, tobacco and a hint of citrus fruit, in the final it presents itself pleasantly lean with a convincing, drinkable freshness. SUPERIORE.DE

      Chianti Classico DOCG 2019

Classic Chianti Classico from stainless steel tanks with a rich and intense bouquet of black cherries, fresh plums, menthol and liquorice. Full-bodied on the palate, but not voluminous, very Sangiovese-typical. Clearly structured, of pure texture and long. SUPERIORE.DE

"Transparent garnet. That floral note on the nose again, followed by real Sangiovese edginess and energy. Lots of drive. Persistent." Jancis Robinson

"As always with Brancaia's Chianti Classicos, this brings together fruit from the estate's original holdings in Castellina with grapes from its Radda property. The 2019 really expresses the high altitude, cooler microclimate of the latter with fragrant florals, fresh mint and crisp red berries. It is vibrant, fluid and quenching in its acidity, while dusty red cherry and fine chalky tannins add intrigue. I love the purity of this 100% unoaked Sangiovese." Decanter

      “Berardenga” Chianti Classico DOCG 2019

Sangiovese in pure culture: Radiant ruby red. Rich in fruity-floral aromas, multi-layered, herbaceous, deep and of good polish with further development potential. A full-bodied and harmonious Chianti-Classico of the most authentic kind. SUPERIORE.DE

"Mid ruby. Distinct chalky cherry nose with leafy green hints. Light of touch on the palate with lively raspberry and tangy cherry fruit and with chewy tannins on the finish." Jancis Robinson

"This is lively, its cherry, strawberry and orange peel flavors picking up earth and woodsy accents. Firm tannins sweep in on the finish, yet this stays fresh and long." Wine Spectator

"One of the best vantage points for drinking Chianti Classico is at the entry level. A wine like the Fèlsina 2019 Chianti Classico Berardenga offers so much freshness and cheerful, easy-drinking appeal. It's a terrific partner to pizza, pasta or basically anything on the trattoria menu tonight. This wine shows bright cherry flavors and redcurrant with pressed flowers and some tangy blood orange. It is steady and generous, with lots of bright primary intensity." Robert Parker

"At the southeastern limit of Chianti Classico, Fèlsina's expansive vineyards look towards Montalcino. The annata is assembled from various parcels rising from 320 to 420 metres on rocky calcareous soil with layers of sandstone. As usual, it is more earthy than fruity, bringing in evocative accents of violet, liquorice and pepper. The palate is superbly textured with fine, grainy tannins providing a sensuous grip. Dark fruited and tangy with admirable depth, it will drink well now and over the next decade. Finishes with a sprinkle of cinnamon." Decanter

"A beautiful, creamy red with cherry and chocolate character. Hints of dried earth. It's medium-to full-bodied with creamy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. shows firmness and tension. Very drinkable now, but will improve beautifully with age." James Suckling

"The 2019 Chianti Classico Berardenga is a classic wine for the year. Bright, perfumed and light on its feet, the 2019 Chianti Classico Berardenga is so wonderfully expressive. There is a feeling of vibrancy to the 2019 that is hugely appealing. A wine of energy more than power. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon linger in a gorgeous Chianti Classico that is more about transparency than power." Vinous

    • "Cùmaro" Rosso Conero Riserva DOCG 2016

“Cùmaro” Rosso Conero Riserva DOCG 2016

A dark berry, radiant Montepulciano in a rich, dark garnet red. Cassis, blueberry and ripe wild raspberry on the nose. Opens on the palate with grippy tannin, juicy, powerful, savoury-spicy course. SUPERIORE.DE

"Deep lustrous ruby. Savoury-sweet oak nose with brooding dark fruit and hints of meat. The oak takes a big step back on the palate only adding a light dustiness to the cherry fruit. Bitter-sweet, powdery tannins add depth and soft grip to the fruit on the juicy finish. An international mould, which it more than manages to rise above." Jancis Robinson

"Aromas of sour cherry, blackcurrant, lemon zest, bark and licorice. It's medium-to full-bodied with firm, fine tannins. Chewy and savory with a spiced finish." James Suckling

"This is a highly recognized wine that enjoys its own special following in Italy and beyond. The 2016 Conero Riserva Cúmaro is a pure expression of Montepulciano from the Conero bluffs that dip into the Adriatic Sea on a small promontory where sunshine and sea breezes caress the vines. This wine is stacked tall and wide with dark fruit, sweet spice and cured tobacco. The wine is beautifully balanced, full and ripe. A classic Marchigiano lamb roast would pair nicely here." “Le Cinciole” Chianti Classico DOCG 2017 (BIO)

Floral aromas and the scent of bright red fruits, with undertones of tobacco, foliage and menthol, which develop in the glass into a successful terroir wine that preserves the fragrance and primary aromas of the young Sangiovese. Pleasantly medium-bodied and authentic. SUPERIORE.DE

"Deep, youthful ruby. Balsamic cherry nose with hints of tobacco leaf and cherry liqueur. Succulent ripe cherry fruit with tangy acidity and quite firm tannins - they are the give-away of the torrid 2017 vintage, but nothing else. Great length and depth." Jancis Robinson

"Made with organically farmed Sangiovese, this opens with subtle aromas of black-skinned berry, scorched earth and cooking spice. The savory palate offers black cherry, clove and tobacco alongside fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast

"Le Cinciole's latest release, the 2017 offers tremendous freshness with beautiful restraint. After ageing for one year in 20hL French oak, this refines for a further 12 months in cement before bottling. It is slightly wilder and decidedly darker in its nuances than the 2016, with enticing lavender, black cherry, liquorice and a touch of leather. The palate is fairly dense, with appropriately grippy tannins lending support. It leaves the mouth clean, refreshed and satisfied." Decanter

"Rich cherries and berries on the nose with hints of fresh oak and sage-like herbs, following through to a fullish palate with plump fruit, quite firm tannins and a bright mineral finish." James Suckling

"The 2017 Chianti Classico is a gorgeous, inviting wine. Pliant fruit and soft contours give the 2017 so much immediacy and appeal. Silky tannins wrap around a core of dark red cherry while spice, new leather and sweet pipe tobacco infuse the 2017 with tremendous character. The 2017 is such a beautiful and inviting wine. Wow!" “Le Difese” Toscana IGT 2019

Le Difese is one of the most beautiful price-quality wonders of Tuscany. Magnificent, sweetly perfumed fruit aromas in the opulent bouquet, just as generous and wide the long-lasting taste. SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright ruby red with a sparkling core. A hint of reduction on the nose, opens with air on cherries, cinnamon sticks, wild strawberries and bright spice notes. Clear and juicy on the palate, showing good drinkability, pithy salty tannin underpins the final." Falstaff

"Surprisingly pale - more Pinot-like than a Cabernet blend! A sweet-sour red-cherry fruit profile, with a notable herbal edge, perhaps reflecting the higher Sangiovese proportion than 2018. On swirling, some cassis joins the party and there's a background woody, cinnamon note. That sweet-sour sense comes through on the palate too, with a ripeness of red cherry and strawberry cut through with acidity. Pretty fine-grained, powdery tannins that are more refined than previous Le Difese vintages I have tasted. A touch of alcohol on the finish, but overall an enjoyable, perfumed red." Jancis Robinson

"Made with 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Sangiovese, this has enticing aromas of cassis, black tea, violet and wild herbs. Savory and elegantly structured, the medium-bodied palate shows ripe blackberry, star anise and a hint of coffee bean framed in lithe, polished tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced." "Dark, rich ruby. Fragrant, floral nose of roses and violets, then fresh wild berries, red currants, delicate spice. Dense and supple in the mouth, spreads out nicely, polished and with juicy tannin, firm pressure in the finish." Falstaff

"Mid ruby with orange tinges. Subtle, fine nose of red fruit and stones. Elegant, sappy red fruit and bags of jagged tannins that demand more time in the bottle. Its elegance, freshness and firm structure set it up for graceful ageing." Jancis Robinson

"The Castello di Radda 2015 Chianti Classico Riserva shows a ripe and nicely concentrated approach with sweet cherry, wild raspberry, crushed stone and grilled herb. This is a lean to mid-weight wine with the calming freshness and vitality that should be expected of Sangiovese from this prized corner of the Chianti Classico appellation." Robert Parker

"A soft, fruity red with aromas and flavors of dried cherries and orange peel. Medium to full body. Tangy and delicious. Shows the richness and ripeness of the vintage." James Suckling

"Dappled scents of fresh florals, autumn leaves and lovely tapered fruit with refined tannins and a long, poised finish." Decanter

    • "Carleone" Chianti Classico DOCG 2018

      “Carleone” Chianti Classico DOCG 2018

Sparkling ruby with a pronounced garnet shimmer. Very inviting aroma of cherries and delicate meadow herbs, with a nutty touch. Medium-bodied on the palate, again wonderfully juicy fruit, cool, mineral style, very finely structured and balanced, with lively animo, lingers quite long and makes you want to drink the next glass. Perfect companion to Italian dishes. SUPERIORE.DE

"Just mid ruby. Lifted, sweetly spiced raspberry nose with hints of black pepper and malt. Gentle raspberry fruit with a nervy tangy vein. There is a sense of richness and intensity but without being heavy. Explosive juiciness. Coating tannins build a perfect unity with the masses of raspberry fruit on the finish." Jancis Robinson

"Plenty of fresh berries, cherries and some plums. Medium-bodied with round tannins and a tangy, orange-peel aftertaste. Lovely intensity and brightness with hints of sandalwood and cherries." James Suckling

"Sean O'Callaghan is a passionate, obsessed and intensely faithful producer of Sangiovese. He sees the same potential in it as in Nebbiolo or Pinot Noir, and this Chianti Classico is as exquisite as the top wines made from those other noble grapes. Intriguing perfume, both elegant and spicy. The flavours, though pure and brilliant, are somewhat overshadowed by the structure and texture. It is so seamless, with such expert tailoring that it glides, soars even, over the palate. Very fine." Decanter

"The 2018 Chianti Classico is full of character. A dollop (10%) of whole clusters add striking aromatic presence to the Sangiovese fruit. Deceptive in its mid-weight style, the Classico delivers tons of punchiness and flavor intensity, with the structure to develop beautifully in bottle for many years to come. The 2018 spent a whopping two months on the skins and was aged for 18 months in stainless steel and cement." Vinous

    Jancis Robinson.

The British Jancis Robinsonwoman, MW, (*1950), is the most respected and influential wine author and taster in the world. And probably the most hard-working and widely travelled. She studied mathematics and philosophy at Oxford. She came to the subject of wine in 1975, when she was appointed to the editor-in-chief of Wine & Spirits, a traditional magazine for the specialist trade.

In 1979, she became the wine correspondent for the Sunday Times. Soon, as Jancis Robinsona columnist for countless magazines and TV shows, she was also known outside Great Britain. Wine-Spectator, Decanter, Feinschmecker, Falstaffand many other international magazines published their columns and reviews. In 1984 she was the first person not to come from the wine trade to pass the demanding Master of Wine examination. She has been writing the weekly wine column in the Financial Times since 1990.

Some of her many books became standard works of wine literature. The Oxford Wine Dictionary (The Oxford Companion to Wine), "The World Atlas of Wine" (with Hugh Johnson), and "Wine Grapes"in which she describes 1368 different grape varieties worldwide with Julia Harding (MW) and José Vouillamoz (one of the most famous grape variety geneticists). Since 2000 she is also present online and with her team of specialized journalists and Masters' of Wine she reports daily from all over the wine world.
