      Soave Classico DOC 2018

The light yellow Soave Classico has a light and flowery scent of citrus and elderberry, as one would expect. And yet it is not a simple drop, but rather a white wine with an aromatic character and a tasty bite. SUPERIORE.DE

Castello di Radda produces exclusively Chianti Classico and Chianti Classico Riserva. The Gussali-Berettas are particularly interested in the characteristics of the territory in their wines. The fresh Sangiovese fragrance is fine and captivating. Deep and without any arbitrariness, the slender and relaxed taste and a very nice drinking flow is evident. SUPERIORE.DE

This Gewürztraminer has become one of the most sought-after wines in South Tyrol. From the core of its historical cultivation area, it is typical of its variety, tasty and elegant despite its fullness. SUPERIORE.DE

"Deep straw. Broad and rich on the nose – one of the more flamboyant Gewurzes. Full bodied but with mountain freshness. Much fresher than an Alsace example but with more depth and grunt than a typical New World Gewurz. Smoky, pungent finish." Jancis Robinson

"This is very fresh and vibrant for a gewurtz, showing yellow apples, lemon meringue, honeysuckle and peach pit. Full-bodied and oily on the palate, but this far from being a dense example of this variety, opting instead for focused, layered fruit and some refreshing acidity." James Suckling

The almost 10,000 bottles of Rosato di Toscana from Rocca di Montegrossi are exemplary and perfect. Clean aromas of cherry and strawberry in the nose, on the palate lively, elegant and balanced, persistent with berries and spices. SUPERIORE.DE

"Salmon pink colour. Inviting white and red fruit, sweet raspberry nose with a hint of chalk. Sappy fruit palate with perfect, balancing acidity and great length." Jancis Robinson

"Medium pale pink. Floral strawberry, herbs and violets on the inviting nose. Then a slightly candied quality and a hint of residual sweetness diminish the vibrancy of the floral and juicy red berry flavors but contribute to a smooth, round mouthfeel. “Michei” Müller Thurgau Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2018

The recently acquired small Maso Michei winery supplies the grapes for this Müller Thurgau. The vineyards at an altitude of more than 800 metres are ideally situated to the south and, with their special microclimate, provide the grapes for a Müller Thurgau of great aromatic depth, one of the best in the Dolomite region.

Intense light yellow. Fresh fruit on the nose, including green apple and bitter orange, lime blossom and notes of nutmeg typical of the variety. Fresh on the palate and endowed with a lively acidity, this wine presents itself with a demanding lightness that completely convinces us. SUPERIORE.DE

Soave Monte Carbonare is a wonderfully rich and mineral white wine. Complex aromas of apricots and orange, structured, expansive and generous the taste. Good maturing potential. SUPERIORE.DE

"Subtle fruity notes; juicy acidity, fine, dense, delicately fruity, drinkable." JLF. Merum

"Pale lemon. Ripe pear and camomile, with some integrated, nutty spice and mellow pepper. Brisk acidity, with bright, ripe pear, toasted almond and smoke, refined phenolics and a marked, finish salinity that coats the lips and tongue. Genuinely lip-smacking. Refreshing and long." "Bright straw yellow. Lively aromas and flavors of fresh nectarine, white peach, jasmine, and minerals. Then lemony and juicy, but with very good size to the fresh citrus and orchard fruit flavors. Finishes long and saline with harmonious acidity nicely extending the flavors and providing clarity and cut. An outstanding Soave Classico that offers lots of flavor and only 12.5% alcohol." Vinous

    Things to know about
    Jancis Robinson.
    Jancis Robinson.

The British Jancis Robinsonwoman, MW, (*1950), is the most respected and influential wine author and taster in the world. And probably the most hard-working and widely travelled. She studied mathematics and philosophy at Oxford. She came to the subject of wine in 1975, when she was appointed to the editor-in-chief of Wine & Spirits, a traditional magazine for the specialist trade.

In 1979, she became the wine correspondent for the Sunday Times. Soon, as Jancis Robinsona columnist for countless magazines and TV shows, she was also known outside Great Britain. Wine-Spectator, Decanter, Feinschmecker, Falstaffand many other international magazines published their columns and reviews. In 1984 she was the first person not to come from the wine trade to pass the demanding Master of Wine examination. She has been writing the weekly wine column in the Financial Times since 1990.

Some of her many books became standard works of wine literature. The Oxford Wine Dictionary (The Oxford Companion to Wine), "The World Atlas of Wine" (with Hugh Johnson), and "Wine Grapes"in which she describes 1368 different grape varieties worldwide with Julia Harding (MW) and José Vouillamoz (one of the most famous grape variety geneticists). Since 2000 she is also present online and with her team of specialized journalists and Masters' of Wine she reports daily from all over the wine world.

Your expert for Italy is Walter Speller. He was originally a buyer for Italian wines and also writes for the magazines Decanterand Wine. Walter Speller is very much appreciated in Italy's wine industry as a serious taster. He now lives more in Padua than in London. His commitment brought the "Purple Pages" The ratings are based on the relatively strict 20-point scale. Jancis RobinsonSUPERIORE.DE
