• "CiFRA" Cabernet Franc Costa Toscana IGP 2018 (BIO)

“CiFRA” Cabernet Franc Costa Toscana IGP 2018 (BIO)

Star oenologist Luca D'Attoma has vinified a wonderfully agile and elegant Cabernet Franc with Cifra. Light ruby violet, profound aroma with notes of blackberries and liquorice. Rich fruit on the palate with taut tannins and a mineral final. A delight from the Tuscan coast from biodynamic (Demeter) cultivation. SUPERIORE.DE

"Intense, bright ruby red with a slightly lightening core. The nose is marked by clear fruit, ripe raspberry with blackcurrant. Shows uncomplicated and fresh in the mouth, juicy mid-palate, youthful with fresh tannin until the final." Falstaff

"Bottled in July 2019, the 2018 Cabernet Franc CiFRA is an easy take on this Bordeaux grape that saw only cement. Without the wood, this is a tighter and spicier expression with lots of tension, freshness and energy" Robert Parker

"A beautiful, bright red with sliced berries and cherries, as well as fresh flowers. Medium to full body. Light tannins and a crisp finish. Shows focus and finesse, as always. No wood. All cement. From biodynamically grown grapes." James Suckling

"The 2018 Cifra is a total knockout. Fresh, vibrant and full of aromatic intensity, the 2018 boasts superb flavor intensity and exceptional balance. Inky red and purplish berry fruit, lavender, spice and dried flowers all race out of the glass in a boisterous, generous wine that hits all the right notes." Vinous

“SI” Syrah Rosato Costa Toscana IGP 2019 (BIO)

This unfiltered Rosato, vinified in 300-litre amphorae, is the result of the strictest selection of Syrah grapes from the winery. The spontaneously fermented and Demeter-certified result is just 4,000 bottles, which are sold in selected specialist shops and restaurants. Beguiling, intense bouquet of pink grapefruit, raspberry and cranberry. Taut, juicy and lively on the palate - a perfect harmony of expression, freshness and body. SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright, pale pink. Expressive nose, of pink grapefruit, oranges, watermelon, with a hint of smoke. On the palate with juicy, crisp acidity, fresh fruit and salty finish, still very young." Falstaff

"Aromas of cherries and flint and matchstick notes, following through to a full body with delicious fruit and cantaloupe undertones. Creamy and flavorful." James Suckling

"Here's the newest vintage of one of Italy's best Syrah-based rosés. Made with organic and biodynamic fruit, the Duemani 2019 Sì opens to a medium pink color with ruby and copper highlights. Clay amphorae is used in winemaking. The purity of the aromas is what stands out most, with red currant, raspberry and summer watermelon. There's a touch of fizz-like cola spice on the close. The wine is lean in terms of mouthfeel, but that silky construction gives it extra power and momentum. Fruit is drawn from a two-hectare site with alberello, or bush-trained, vines on clay rocky soils that contribute to the wine's fruit-driven concentration. Some 4,000 bottles were made." • "ALTROVINO" Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2018 (BIO)

“ALTROVINO” Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2018 (BIO)

Altrovino is a fine blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Intense, rich ruby red. Opulent scent of black fruits, leather and tobacco. Graceful and very charming on the palate, multi-layered in aromas, velvety and long. Already a harmonious pleasure, this wine will have a continuous career. SUPERIORE.DE

"A blend of organically grown Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this opens with aromas of cassis, underbrush, bell pepper and bay leaf. The savory palate offers spiced blueberry, licorice and tobacco alongside fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast

"A juicy, fruity red with plum, berry and chocolate character, medium to full body and round, polished tannins. Pretty intensity and focus at the finish, where the flavors pop out. From biodynamically grown grapes." James Suckling

"After the rich and more concentrated 2017 vintage, the 2018 Merlot Cabernet Franc Altrovino comes off as more specific to the grapes used in the blend. It shows light shadings of garden herb and spice that come from the Cabernet Franc, and those flavors are enhanced by the cherry and blackberry delivered by the Merlot. This is a beautifully pure expression, one of the clearest I remember in recent memory. The wine pours forth with dark fruit, spice, tilled earth and cured tobacco." Robert Parker

    • "SUISASSI" Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2012 (BIO)

“SUISASSI” Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2012 (BIO)

Suisassi is an excellent interpretation of the noble Syrah. Generous, full fragrance, clear and with an exotic touch of cardamom and cinnamon stick. The fruit is dark and rich in extracts, the tannins are well on their way to perfect integration. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2012 Syrah Suisassi brings together the density and richness of the Tuscan coast, but the inclusion of whole clusters adds freshness and also seems to bring forward considerable varietal character. Sweet dark cherries, violets, lavender, quinine and spices are some of the many notes that grace the open-knit finish. The Syrah is fermented and aged in cask, a technique Luca D'Attoma first used at Le Macchiole." Antonio Galloni

"So many syrah aromas and flavors here with dried meat, spice and dark berry character. Full body, round and silky tannins and a flavorful finish. So much character to this but then a fresh and subtle finish." James Suckling

"Deep dark, rich ruby violet. Very intense nose, opening with notes of eucalyptus and apricot, then elderberries and some green pepper. On the palate it is powerful and compact, has a lot of sweet fruit melt, from which soft tannin unfolds, juicy and with a very long finish". Falstaff

    • "SUISASSI" Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2013 (BIO)

“SUISASSI” Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2013 (BIO)

Syrah Suisassi is rich and expressive. The bouquet convinces with aromas of sage, rosemary, wild flowers, liquorice, violets and plums. On the palate very full and round with memories of berries, chocolate and nuts. Elegant and intellectual. SUPERIORE.DE

"Rich, dark ruby-violet, impenetrable. Opened in the nose with notes of elderberries, very clear, much juicy and precisely worked out fruit. Vibrating on the palate, with spices and dark fruit, juicy, with fine-meshed tannins, a wide arch, very long aftertaste, high elegance." Falstaff

"The 2013 Syrah Suisassi is faithful to the grape and shows abundant notes of blackberry, cured meat, exotic spice and grilled herb. Luca D’Attoma has been experimenting with increased stem inclusion. In the 2012 vintage, 30% of the mass saw stem inclusion, but that figure rises to 100% with the 2016 vintage. This Syrah is an extremely well integrated and smoothly textured. The oak still needs time to integrate, but past tasting experiences with Suisassi give excellent promise for its age-worthiness. Luca believes stem inclusion provokes a slightly reduced effect when the wine is young. For this reason, you should wait before popping the cork. The 2013 vintage in particular boasts an all-Rhône approach." Robert Parker

"This is setting a new benchmark for syrah with so much intensity yet it remains refined and velvety textured. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a long and flavorful finish. So much licorice, smoked meat and spice. Light berry. Green apple skin. What a wine." James Suckling

"Duemani's 2013 Syrah Suisassi is impressive. The inclusion of a third of whole clusters adds considerable aromatic lift and nuance to the dark fruit flavors. Lavender, mint, sage, licorice and plum are all pushed forward. Beams of underlying acidity shape the expressive, saline finish." Antonio Galloni

"The beautiful 2015 Cabernet Franc Duemani shows the heat of the summer growing season in a bold and upfront manner. The wine is impenetrable and inky dark in appearance. It is not jammy per se, but that brilliant Tuscan sunshine seems to bubble up from inside the dark fiber of this thickly extracted expression. The bouquet flows forth with generous blackberry, spice and cured tobacco. Overall the integration is seamless and impressively balanced." Robert Parker

"Rich and explosive in the glass, the 2015 Suisassi has a lot to offer. A blast of heady blueberry jam, crème de cassis, leather and pepper notes emerges as this big, tannic wine gradually starts to open up. The 30% stems add quite a bit of savoriness without dominating the wine's balance. This is very nicely done, especially within the context of the year." Antonio Galloni

“DUEMANI” Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2016 (BIO)

The pure Cabernet Franc Duemani is for us one of the best representatives of the West Tuscan coastal region. The bouquet is of exceptional clarity of dark plum, coffee and wild roses. Rich and with perfectly integrated wood notes on the palate, its structure and elegance are particularly fascinating. SUPERIORE.DE

"Deep ruby red with a slight garnet shimmer. Opened with fine spicy notes of cinnamon and ginger, then dark currant and elderberry. On the palate earthy and spicy notes, floating on a fine carpet of spices, juicy fruit, opens with present, dense tannin, in the final full pressure." Falstaff

"The 2016 Duemani is a powerful and explosive wine. Dark red cherry, tobacco, cedar, plum, dried flowers, leather and licorice all race out of the glass as this rich, dense Cabernet Franc shows off its personality. Aged 20 months in French oak, the 2016 is a wine of great power and density. I would prefer to drink it on the young side, to take advantage of the wine's superb depth and intensity. This is an outstanding vintage for the Duemani." Vinous

"This vintage is profound and beautiful. The 2016 Cabernet Franc Duemani shows deep layers of fruit, with levels of crunchiness and complexity that make it memorable. The mouthfeel is silky, long and rich. The maturity of the fruit here is perfect. In terms of appearance, the wine is dark and impenetrable. All around, this Duemani is an extremely tight, focused and elegant expression of Cabernet Franc." Robert Parker

"A layered and rich cabernet franc with tobacco, blackberries, bark and licorice. Full body, very fine tannins that are polished with beautiful fruit and a long, long finish. Shows muscle yet polish. Needs four or five years to soften." James Suckling

"4000 bottles are produced from this wine, which is aged in wood: Inviting nose of juniper berries, tobacco and herbs; juicy, compact on the palate, with accurately integrated acidity, elegant and long." Vinum

"The 2016 Suisassi brings together power and freshness to a degree that is quite rare on the coast. Inky dark purplish fruit, leather, licorice, plum, lavender and spice come together in a deep Syrah endowed with tremendous concentration as well as power. Time in the glass brings out the wine's explosive energy and tension. The 30% whole clusters are evident, but not overly so." Vinous

"There is a lot of gorgeous spice in the 2016 Syrah Suisassi, along with candied fruit, cherry and notes of blackberry. The Syrah takes very well to 20 months in oak, retaining a freshness and fruity sweetness to accompany the spice. The mouthfeel is velvety and rich. In the end, this is a fine and elegant expression of Syrah that I could envision serving with a creamy steak au poivre." Robert Parker

"Wow. This shows amazing aromas of foie gras, game, pepper and spice with the dark fruit. Full body and soft, juicy tannins that form the wild and exotic, syrah character in the aftertaste. Love this. From biodynamically grown grapes. Demeter-certified." James Suckling

    • "DUEMANI" Cabernet Franc Costa Toscana IGP 2018 (BIO)

“DUEMANI” Cabernet Franc Costa Toscana IGP 2018 (BIO)

The single-varietal Duemani is for us one of the best representatives of the West Tuscan coastal region. The bouquet of exceptional clarity of dark plum, coffee and wild roses. Rich and with perfectly integrated wood notes on the palate, its structure and elegance are particularly fascinating. SUPERIORE.DE

"Sparkling, intense ruby-violet. Very intense and clear nose, full of ripe wild raspberries, blackberries, in the background some pickled beetroot, discreet earthy notes, also tobacco. Very juicy on the palate, ripe berry fruit, opens with fine-meshed tannin, great drinking flow, tobacco on the final." Falstaff

"The bouquet offers buoyant aromas of dark fruit, spice, tar and licorice. There is a lot of intensity and energy surrounding those pretty aromas. The mouthfeel takes a more delicate approach without the astringency and power that we got in the previous vintage. This wine is almost fragile in comparison, benefiting from a long and elegant finish." Robert Parker

"This has an aromatic array of ripe red and black cherries, blackcurrants, blueberries, cloves, cedar, fresh herbs and licorice. It's full-bodied, incredibly smooth and polished with layers of ripe fruit and chocolate, yet with lifting freshness. Fine, silky tannins and a long finish. Lingering chocolate and spices. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification." James Suckling

    • "SUISASSI" Syrah Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2018 (BIO)

“SUISASSI” Syrah Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2018 (BIO)

Suisassi is rich and expressive. The bouquet convinces with aromas of sage, rosemary, wild flowers, liquorice, violets and plums. The palate is very full and round with memories of berries, chocolate and nuts. Elegant and intellectual. SUPERIORE.DE

"Powerful, dark ruby-violet. Very expressive and appealing nose, full of ripe blueberries and blackberries, ripe plums, very clear fruit, also rich spice in the background. Juicy and rich on the palate, shows lots of incisive berry fruit, grippy, tightly meshed tannin, very long finish." Falstaff

"Tasted as a preview prior to bottling, the Duemani 2018 Syrah Suisassi is a gorgeous wine- This 2018 vintage, however, is smooth, fine and supple. It's a true gem and one of the best wines I have tasted yet from Luca D'Attoma and Elena Celli. Dark fruit cedes to mahogany and barbecue spice. Seamless, smooth and powerful, this is a one-way ticket into the heart of the Syrah grape without the heaviness or overextraction that you find in other warm-climate regions that focus on this variety. High-altitude vineyards facing the Tyrrhenian Sea make the difference." Robert Parker

"Ripe black cherries, wild blackberries, blackcurrants, nutmeg, licorice, mahogany, musk and some dried thyme on the nose. It's full-bodied and polished with intense blue and black-fruit flavors, wonderfully balanced with wood, spice and smoky notes. Velvety, integrated tannins. Such focus and precision. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Already stunning and hard to resist now, but better in a couple of years." James Suckling

    About the winemakersDuemaniTuscany | Maremma
    Duemani

Elena Celli and Luca d'Attoma are a very successful pair of winegrowers. Both were born in Tuscany and have fulfilled their dream of owning their own winery by acquiring the beautiful Azienda Vitivinicola Duemani not far from the village of Riparbella in the Maremma. About ten kilometres from the sea and at an altitude of around 400 metres, the couple produce powerful, clearly structured and well-balanced wines. The work in the vineyard and in the cellar was certified as organic and biodynamic because they considered the area unsuitable for conventional cultivation methods. After eight years of meticulous preparation of the soil, which was dominated by clay and stones and not particularly fertile, it was worth the effort. The red wines, which are pressed in the estate and are mostly pure and very limited in their edition, are kept in a modern style. Above all the Suisassi captivates in the assortment manageable with four drops by its large Mediterranean radiant emittance.

In the Duemani estate the three vineyards are arranged in the shape of an amphitheatre with a view of the sea. Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah thrive there. The highest vineyard hill has the richest soil; it is planted with Cabernet. The smallest, very stony vineyard is the heart of the small Tuscan winery. The approximately 7,000 vines of the Syrah variety grow in buscher education, i.e. without a support system consisting of wires, frames and poles.

When Luca is not in the estate, he may be travelling as a professional consultant to visit wineries between Veneto and Sicily. The oenologist studied at the traditional wine growing school in Conegliano (Veneto) with a thesis on the topic „Interruption of fermentation and its reactivation with the yeast skin" completed. After training, the winemaker worked in Tuscany for renowned houses such as Tua Rita (Maremma) and Le Macchiole (Bolgheri). The name Duemani, in English "two hands"The "Elena Luca" is, by the way, a loving remembrance of the long-standing and intimate relationship between Elena and Luca, which goes far beyond private life. SUPERIORE.DE

"As one of the superstars among Italy's consultative oenologists, d'Attoma helped many wineries and helped them to later develop into superstars. But his uncompromising nature and his strict demands on wine quality, with which he confronted the landowners, were not everyone's taste."Antonio Galloni
