![Fernet Amaro Negroni]()
Fernet Amaro Negroni
In 1919, Guglielmo Negroni founded his distillery in the heart of Treviso – since then, the original recipes have been passed down from generation to generation. This Fernet is in the great tradition of Italian herbal bitters: an infusion of rhubarb, gentian, aloe and mint forms the aromatic foundation. Intense and decisive in flavour, without compromise. The dark amber colour announces what is to follow: a powerful bitter with spicy depth, balsamic notes and that characteristic menthol-fresh finish that distinguishes Fernet from the gentler Amaro. At 39% vol. as a classic digestivo after a sumptuous meal or – very Italian – with a shot of cola as a different kind of caffè corretto. A piece of Treviso in a glass, uncompromisingly bitter, uncompromisingly good. SUPERIORE.DE

After pressing and filtering, alcohol and - as usual with half bittern - some sugar are added, as well as some herbs, the mixture of which the distillery keeps strictly secret. Traditional infusion of aromatic herbs, spices and especially red radicchio, which gives it an original touch and a special character. The aroma is moderately intense, with distinct notes of rhubarb, ginseng and a hint of citrus. On the palate, it is soft and balanced, lingers for a long time and leaves the traditional, delicately bitter amaro taste of red radicchio in the mouth. SUPERIORE.DE

!["Nocino" Liquore infuso malli di noce]()
“Nocino” Liquore infuso malli di noce
St. John's Eve on 24 June is traditionally the day in Italy when the still unripe walnuts are harvested for Christmas. This time represents the ideal balsamic ripeness of the fruits, which are carefully selected, harvested by hand and then conscientiously prepared. This is followed by an infusion of cinnamon, lemon peel, cloves and sugar, followed by a further maceration period to extract the aromas from the botanicals. Only at the end of a further maturing does this fine nocino achieve the right balance from its various substances. SUPERIORE.DE

![Amaro "Quintessentia di Erbe 24 mesi" Riserva]()
Amaro “Quintessentia di Erbe 24 mesi” Riserva
In memory of grandfather Antonio, the Nonino family celebrates a return to its origins with Amaro Nonino Quintessentia by creating a Riserva for the first time in 2021, which undergoes more than 24 months of natural ageing in oak barriques and small casks. Antonio Nonino, the third generation of the distiller family, used to store Amaro Carnia in small wooden barrels; steel was prohibitively expensive at the time. Through contact with the oak, the liqueur was enriched with new notes and aromas. Although there are no clear regulations for the maturation of liqueurs, in line with the Nonino philosophy, maturation takes place in the dedicated cellar, sealed and under constant supervision by the customs and monopoly office.

Italian distillates are more than just spirits – they are cultural history, craftsmanship and a ritual of enjoyment. At the centre is grappa, probably the country's most characteristic spirit: a distillate made from wine pomace, i.e. the grape skins and seeds left over after pressing. However, it can only be called grappa if the pomace comes from Italy and the grappa is distilled in Italy. And: in Italy, grappa is female.
Its roots go back a long way. It first appeared in records as early as the 15th century; Jesuits and travelling distillers later spread the art of distilling. During the First World War, Italian soldiers – the legendary Kaiserjäger – strengthened their courage with grappa, which became a kind of national treasure. The centres of distilling were and still are Veneto and Friuli. The big names – marzadro, Nonino, Jacopo Poli – still stand for top quality and preserve distilling rights that date back to Maria Theresa.
Modern technology and a focus on single-varietal grape marc have transformed grappa from a farmhouse brandy into a fine spirit. Gently pressed grapes, fast processing and multiple distillation processes now produce pure, aromatic distillates with great variety: from Muscat and Traminer grappa to tart Sangiovese interpretations and powerful specialities made from Brunello and Barolo marc. An Italian meal without grappa at the end? Hard to imagine. That's why we have a marvellously extensive selection of authentic grappa from the best distilleries and rare grappa from winegrowers!
In order to present the wide variety of Italian distillates & we have organised our selection into clearly structured categories: from grappa in all its facets to aromatic liqueurs, unadulterated spirits and authentic vermouth.
Grappa white
Classic, unadorned grappa that is bottled directly after distillation. Clear, precise and fully focussed on the character of the grape variety – from floral Muscat to spicy Traminer marc and pithy Sangiovese nuances.
Grappa matured
Refined in wooden barrels, grappa gains depth, flavour and complexity. Ageing in oak, acacia or chestnut imparts notes of vanilla, nuts, honey and spices – ideal for lovers of refined, round distillates.
Grappa flavoured
A playground for creative distillers: flavoured with herbs, roots, fruits or spices. These grappa-based specialities combine clarity with fragrant diversity and are ideal as a digestif or cocktail component.
Liqueurs
Italian liqueurs are made with the help of herbs, fruits or spices, for example. Classics such as Amaro, Bitter, Fernet, Limoncello, Sambuca or the Sardinian Mirto reflect regional traditions: sometimes tart, sometimes sweet, sometimes powerful, sometimes delicate. They enrich cocktails such as Negroni or Spritz and also shine on their own.
Spirits
This category includes Italian icons such as herbal spirits, gin and aromatic fruit brandies with an unadulterated character. Whether as a base for mixed drinks or stylishly served solo: These distillates bring authenticity and elegance to any home bar.
Vermouth
A true Italian cultural asset. Authentic wine, flavoured with herbs, roots and spices – dry, semi-dry or dolce, depending on the style. From classic Rosso to modern Bianco and regional specialities, Vermouth is one of the most versatile partners for cocktails and aperitivi and, of course, a real classic on its own!
From soft and floral to intense and spicy: our selection of liqueurs, flavoured wines and spirits showcases the full range of Italian art for enjoyable aperitifs, mixed drinks and digestifs. Salute! SUPERIORE.DE
