“Otto” Soave DOC 2022 (BIO)
"I am particularly attached to this wine, which is named after the Border Collie who lived with us for fifteen years. Otto is the youngest wine we have, fresh and ready to drink. A wine you should always have in your cellar." Graziano Prà
Light straw yellow. Delicate bouquet of white flowers, spices, lime and green apple. On the palate, the intensity of the green citrus fruit unfolds together with a deep, salty minerality. A balanced inner sweetness adds a fantastic harmony. Otto finishes long with traces of candied lime, and its fresh tension offers plenty of drinking pleasure. SUPERIORE.DE
"A fragrant, peachy bouquet with hints of white flowers and almonds. Medium-bodied with a relaxed, fruity palate and some mineral structure." James Suckling
"The mineral drive of the Monteforte d'Alpone area in a pure Garganega (also) from old vines that reconciles the brilliance of the type. Notes of white peach on the nose, with hints of lime, lemon sage and jasmine. On the drink it is taut-crushing, with a fruity-citrusy return." Luca Gardini

“Morandina” Valpolicella DOC 2021
"For a long time I was looking for the area in Valpolicella that would best suit my style. Valpolicella Morandina is the freshest and sharpest interpretation of my red wines." Graziano Prà
Bright red colour with violet reflections. Strong minerality, which is enhanced by further bottle ageing. On the nose, distinct aromas of spices and red berries. Lively, refreshing and finesse-rich on the palate with medium tannin and a pretty finish of black pepper and currants. Perfect as a food companion - serve slightly chilled! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, brightening ruby. Open and accessible nose, shows notes of fresh, juicy cherries, some violets, some cardamom in the background. Very juicy on the palate, unfolds with good freshness, fine cherry on the final." Falstaff
"A delicious, herbal, light to gently mid-weighted Valpolicella. Rose petal, mint, red fruit accents, tomato leaf, alpine herb and dried thyme, lacing the peppery tannic twine to the brisk acidity. A great everyday wine." James Suckling

“Staforte” Soave Classico DOC 2021 (BIO)
"This wine was born as a challenge. In 2004, when we started making it, ageing in steel was against the general trend to age complex Soave wines in barrique. Today we are glad that we took this risk." Graziano Prà
The grapes for Staforte come from the core zone of Soave Classico, which is a pure expression of the mineral soil in which the vines grow. Apricot, peach and crisp golden apple mingle with notes of dried chamomile and white flowers. Deep and full-bodied in the drink, very taut, with a mineral finesse, fine acidity and creaminess into a long, impressive final. SUPERIORE.DE
"White peach and peach skin aromas follow through to a medium-bodied palate with crushed-stone minerals on the mid-palate. Crisp, fruity and mineral finish with decent length." James Suckling

“Monte Grande” Soave Classico DOC 2021 (BIO)
"This wine comes from my family's historic vineyard. It is a wine that is the result of long reflection, study and experimentation, with nothing left to chance: Monte Grande is meant to be my great Soave wine." Graziano Prà
Monte Grande is the white cru of the house and a blend of 70% Garganega and 30% Trebbiano di Soave of great complexity with ideal ageing potential. Deep bouquet of exotic fruits and rocks with a fine citrus note. Multi-layered and spicy on the palate, intense and sharply focused, with mineral hints and a pretty salty core. Beautifully wrought acidity, then notes of orange zest and almonds on the long finish. A terrific masterpiece! SUPERIORE.DE
"Ripe fruit on the nose, from pineapple to gooseberry and a hint of snowberry. Medium-bodied with a gentle honey note competing with stony minerals that colour the finish. A powerful Monte Grande." James Suckling

“Vigna Colle Sant’Antonio” Soave Classico DOC 2018
"Rich, profound and convincing, Colle Sant'Antonio is a small selection of Garganega that I carefully choose in the vineyard and patiently wait for in the cellar." Graziano Prà
Intense yellow with golden reflections. The complex bouquet reminds of ripe yellow fruits, cinnamon, fresh vanilla, acacia and chestnut honey. Its freshness is in ideal balance with its alcohol content and powerful body. Sweet toasted almonds and candied apricots emerge on the terrific finish. The tertiary aromas, which are created by the maturation in French oak barrels, contribute to the complexity of the taste and perfectly round off the unique drinking experience. SUPERIORE.DE
"The salubrious flagship, crafted with a cordon cut technique to concentrate the fruit across a meld of three different top crus into a whorl of tangerine, mango chutney, salted quince and pineapple spice. Mid-weighted, exuberant, verging on the exotic and yet, toned by a refrain of quinine bitterness in the finish." James Suckling

“Morandina” Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2016
"My personal challenge is to bring Amarone back to the table. A wonderful food companion that combines power and complexity with a crisp, soft sip." Graziano Prà
Radiant ruby red. The aromas are intense and complex of stewed plums, cloves, sage and dark chocolate. On the palate, cherry and plum as well as a nice component of bitter cocoa and liquorice. The texture is velvety but also buoyant and juicy, with lively acids teasing the palate with mineral-tinged red fruits and sweet spices. On the complex final, the wine becomes darker and more intense, revealing blackcurrants, herbal notes and a hint of bitter coffee. Morandina offers the intensity of an Amarone but in a spicy and balanced style that is very attractive. SUPERIORE.DE
"This elegant red is medium- to full-bodied, with creamy tannins providing a fine frame for flavors of brambly red currant and blackberry fruit, pine, orange peel and crushed pink peppercorn. A subtle, savory overtone of cured tobacco and smoky bacon fat echoes on the fresh finish." Wine Spectator
"Inspired by Dal Forno, renowned Soave producer Graziano Prà purchased 13 hectares high up in eastern Valpolicella's Mezzane Valley in 2001. The previously unplanted parcel is protected by forest and has been farmed organically from the start. A relatively restrained nose shows dried garden herbs with plum and floral nuances. On the palate, fig and prune flavours are laced with cigar smoke. Velvety, malleable tannins enfold the easy to please package and the finish is bright with a pleasantly bitter edge." Decanter
"A savory and complex expression of Amarone with some dried cherries, red dates, stewed herbs, orange peel, tobacco and white pepper. Some bold green peppercorn, too. A svelte delivery of Amarone with a medium body, showing tobacco, cedar and chocolate on the palate. Long, cedary finish." James Suckling
"The 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Morandina is dark and youthfully understated in the glass, as crushed rose petals and stone dust give way to red currants. This is silky-smooth, nearly velvety in feel, with masses of mineral-tinged black cherry and spice contrasted by a twang of sour citrus. The 2016 finishes with outstanding length and depth yet is also remarkably fresh, leaving hints of hard red candy and the slightest touch of bitter cocoa. The Amarone of Prà is always so unique but in the best possible way. The 2016 is a total gem but needs cellaring to come fully into focus." Vinous

Graziano Prà is one of a small group of talented winemakers who have demonstrated to the world that the Soave area also has storable top-quality wines to offer. Since his oenology apprenticeship in the early 1980s and taking over the family's vineyards, formerly managed by his grandfather and father, Graziano has been guided by the concept of transparency. "The task of a winemaker is to transform the grapes into a wine that reflects the unique taste of the terroir," the winery owner tells us in conversation.
His farm now covers 48 hectares of vines, which have always been cultivated organically. The majority (40 hectares) grows near the town of Monteforte d'Alpone on the unique volcanic soils of the Soave hills and is planted with the autochthonous grape varieties Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave. These grapes are used to produce Prà's sought-after Soave Classico wines, such as the fruity "Otto" - named after the winemaker's dog, a beloved Border Collie - as well as the multi-layered single-vineyard wines "Staforte", "Monte Grande" and "Colle Sant'Antonio".
In the international wine scene, Graziano has long been considered the old master of Soave. After a gentle grape pressing, his white wines ferment at low temperatures, which above all preserves the fresh fruit notes of the grape varieties. In addition, malolactic fermentation is dispensed with during maturation and vinification takes place under inert gas to avoid contact with oxygen.
In the meantime, Graziano Prà is also making a name for himself as a red wine expert: In the nearby hills of the Valpolicella region, the winery has eight hectares of vines that thrive on calcareous soils. Here, the cold air currents from the Lessini Mountains ensure longer ripening phases, thanks to which the red grape varieties Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta develop mineral flavours. These grapes are used at Prà for the Valpolicella and the Valpolicella Ripasso as well as for the incomparable Amarone.
In addition to enhancing the value of the area's autochthonous grapes, Graziano is particularly concerned with another element: his wines should stand the test of time without developing undesirable off-flavours such as troublesome cork notes. In fact, the longevity of the wines is precisely the factor that influenced the choice of screwcap for the storable single-vineyard Soave. "Buying a bottle of Soave with a screw cap," Graziano Prà points out, "means buying a wine that depends on the vintage and never on the closure."
The Prà winery is therefore a true pioneer that will continue to inspire us with spectacular red and white wines in the future. We can therefore only echo the enthusiasm of the famous wine critic Antonio Galloni: "Whether it's Amarone or Soave, Prà has got it covered." SUPERIORE.DE
