• "Ginestreto" Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2017

“Ginestreto” Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2017

Aromas of sweet and sour cherries, blackberry notes and elegant spices on the nose. The lively, full-bodied taste with appealing tannins and a powerful acidity is long lasting and extremely harmonious. A small Brunello from a very good house, which reveals the potential of the Sangiovese grape in a remarkable way. SUPERIORE.DE

"Deep minerally/earthy cherry nose. Succulent cherry fruit on the palate with long, coating tannins. Just a touch of creaminess on the finish, which could betray oak. It's not exactly a bargain but is worth every penny." Jancis Robinson

"The 2017 Rosso di Montalcino Ginestreto is a joyous wine that captures all the richness of the vintage. Ample, creamy yet translucent, the 2017 is super-expressive today. Ripe red cherry, orange zest, plum, licorice, mint and sweet floral notes all flesh out effortlessly. Soft curves and pliant fruit add to the wine's sheer appeal." Vinous

"Shows some really good, spicy complexity with fresh herbs, wet earth, red berries, oranges and lemons. Very sexy and refined with good concentration and so much tangy acidity and citrus character throughout." James Suckling

    • "Ginestreto" Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2018

“Ginestreto” Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2018

Light ruby. Rich bouquet of red cherry, strawberry, chocolate and violet. Generous and lively on the palate of rhubarb strawberry pie and sour cherry, the fruit beautifully concentrated and full. The nobly woven tannin structure guides this layered and very serious Rosso into a delightful, mineral finish. With this vintage, Fuligni succeeds in creating a wine that is outstanding for the appellation, which is an ingenious border crosser between tradition and modernity in terms of style. SUPERIORE.DE

"A beautiful Rosso di Montalcino with berry, cherry, light cedar and chocolate undertones. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, linear tannins that are polished and lightly chewy. Just the right amount of tannin and cedar at the finish." James Suckling

"The 2018 Rosso di Montalcino Ginestreto is a gorgeous expression of Sangiovese fruit, showing spiced black cherries with hints of clove, sage and dusty florals. It’s ripe and generous yet also perfectly balanced, blending wild berry fruit with salty minerals, as zesty acids keep its energy high. There’s a bit of a tannic tug here, but it never gets in the way of this truly enjoyable Rosso; instead it just punctuates the expression perfectly. It will be hard to keep your hands off, but another year in bottle may bring out further depths." Vinous

    • Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2012

      Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2012

Classical, powerful, precise, charming and accessible. Every year it captivates with elegance and finesse, lasting and long. SUPERIORE.DE

"Shiny, rich ruby garnet. Very open and inviting nose with notes of cranberries and cherries, some sealing wax in the background. Round and supple in the attack and course, shows much present, open fruit, fine-meshed tannin that develops elegantly, very long". Falstaff

"The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is a dark and savory wine with a generous bouquet of meaty aromas that peel back in thick layers. At its core is a healthy dose of black fruit, but background aromas of cured meat, grilled spice and smoked bacon give the wine a unique personality. This wine shows enthusiastic readiness were it to be paired with a succulent, fire-roasted steak. The mouthfeel revealed by this Brunello from Fuligni is surprisingly dense, thick and velvety. The wine shows attractive richness on both the nose and the palate. It is ready to drink in the near or medium-term." Robert Parker

"Good full red. Complex, penetrating aromas and flavors of red cherry, strawberry, minerals and violet, plus a complicating hint of cinnamon. Rich and dense but with a strong mineral underpinning giving this a very precise, lifted mouthfeel. Long and very clean on the vibrant finish. Outstanding, classic, refined Brunello." Ian d’Agata (vinous.com)

"Forest floor, aromatic herb, dark spice and eucalyptus aromas come together with a floral twist. Bright and elegant, the palate shows succulent wild cherry, white pepper, star anise and chopped mint flavors. With its taut, fine-grained tannins and firm acidity, it needs time to unwind and fully develop." Wine Enthusiast

"Extremely floral with rose-petal and cherry character. Walnut and mushroom undertones. Medium to full body, velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. Citrus-rind undertones. Delicious, solid and harmonious wine." James Suckling

"Mid ruby. Fine, tight and brooding on the nose. Holding back a little on the palate too. Wonderful balance of fruit, succulent acidity and firm, chewy tannins. Real breeding and super-fine." Jancis Robinson

    • Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2013

      Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2013

Deep dark grenade. Firm and precise the first impression, then very much dark cherry and some dried fruit. Notes of tar and ash and a beautiful raspberry note on the palate. A generally harmonious and highly elegant wine from an excellent vintage. SUPERIORE.DE

"Sparkling, intense ruby with a garnet shimmer. Attractive, multi-layered nose, the round starts with notes of sealing wax, some cranberry, resin and cedar wood, then juicy plum and raspberry. The wine is smooth and round in the base and course, flows calmly but continuously, opens with fine-meshed tannin, fine melting, in the finale with rich raspberry fruit." Falstaff

"Pristine and fresh, with driving acidity: the Fuligni style expresses elegance above all, reflecting its cool-sited vineyards in the north of the region. This Riserva has understated but finely delineated aromas of flowers, raspberries and fresh hay, and is fragrant, light and dancing on the palate too, with fine-milled tannins." Decanter

"A rich style, displaying cherry, strawberry, floral and wild herb aromas and flavors. Tightly wound, with iron, sanguine and tobacco notes rolling out on the finish." Wine Spectator

"The Fuligni 2013 Brunello di Montalcino exhibits a dark garnet color with copper-like highlights at the rim. The wine is sophisticated and austere in character, and the fruit tones are etched and firm. All of these qualities contribute to the overall sense of finesse and pedigree presented by Fuligni. Dark cherry and dried fruit segue to mineral aromas and campfire ash. The wine maintains a somewhat serious and introspective quality throughout." Robert Parker

"Concentrated mid ruby. Fresh, vigorous cherry nose and lots of concentrated cherry on the palate and fine, coating tannins. Youthful, but can already be approached. True class." Jancis Robinson

"Enticingly fragrant, this opens with delicate scents of forest berry, underbrush, new leather and crushed purple flowers. Juicy and enveloping, the smooth, full-bodied palate presents ripe Morello cherry, raspberry preserve, licorice and chewing tobacco framed in taut fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast

"A balanced and firm red with plum, light chocolate, walnut and spice character. Medium to full body and silky tannins. I love the flavorful finish." James Suckling

"Luminous red. High-pitched aromas of sour red cherry, raspberry, rose, stainless steel, white pepper and minerals. Dense and silky in texture but displays great juiciness, clarity and floral lift; the lively but harmonious acidity really lifts and frames the bright red and mineral flavors. Totally saturates the palate and yet comes off as virtually weightless. This hauntingly beautiful wine showcases everything Brunello can be when made from an ultra-competent producer farming Sangiovese vines that grow in what is a real grand cru section of the much too large Brunello di Montalcino denomination." • Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2015

      Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2015

Here comes one of the archetypes of the 2015 picture book vintage, a wine full of richness and harmony, which does not deny the traditional signature of the winemaker, but underlines it voluminously. Brilliant red stone fruit, wild flowers, cinnamon and notes of fine meadow herbs interweave to create a generous, open wine that expands into a multi-layered crescendo with increasing aeration and leaves nothing to be desired with its power and finesse. SUPERIORE.DE

"Still a bit closed in the beginning, with the aeration then notes of plums and herbs; the acidity fresh and perfectly integrated, excellently worked tannins, the final fruity and spicy. Can mature." Vinum

"Bright, intense ruby grenade. Showing a little overdone in the nose, it then opens with notes of plums and blueberries. "Intense tannins, very dense, built up over a long period." Falstaff

"Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Balsamic, sweet complex nose with hints of oatmeal. Supple, juicy and expressive on the palate with gorgeous, grainy tannins clinging to the fruit. Truly tangy and with a generous dose of long-lasting fruit on the finish." Jancis Robinson

"The Fuligni estate is located between the town of Montalcino and Torrenieri in the northeast. Its 10ha of vineyards reach up to 450 metres on rocky marls and are mostly east facing. This rather gentle, cooler exposition worked in the wine's favour in 2015. While full-bodied, it is adeptly proportioned and even demonstrates great precision, boasting sweet, dried herbs, coriander and leather atop plush red cherries. There is a stoniness underneath, with layers of clingy tannins and a sappy, appetising finish." Decanter

"Fuligni's 2015 Brunello di Montalcino is dark and alluring, pulling me closer to the glass with each swirl, as a mix of ripe black cherry, rosemary, smoke, and moist earth lift from the glass, with sweet florals and a bit of animal musk developing over time. On the palate, it glides across the senses like silk, with ripe dark red fruits paving the way for sweet spice, as saline-minerals slowly saturate in a display that was perfectly balanced and not missing a single step. The finish is long, showing the first notes of tannic heft, with dried red fruits and minerals. The 2015 Fuligni Brunello balances its beautifully ripe fruit with classic tannins and a truly gorgeous perfumed character. It’s sure to have a lot of fans, and as it youthfully closes up in the glass. I can imagine a long life ahead for it." Vinous

"Rose, violet, camphor, wild berry and aromatic herb aromas are front and center in this gorgeous red. It's juicy, enveloping and delicious, doling out succulent black cherry, raspberry compote, licorice and baking spice alongside velvety tannins. Thanks to the estate's vineyards north of Montalcino, it has freshness and mid-term staying power." Wine Enthusiast

"The purity of fruit on the nose is perfection with cherries, crushed raspberries, mineral, pumice and citrus fruit. Dust, too. Full body. Powerful, chewy tannins. So long and muscular, yet polished and formed. Most structured Brunello I have ever had from here. A wine for decades." James Suckling

    • Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2016

      Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2016

You have known it for a long time: Fuligni's Brunello is a benchmark every year. But what the family conjures up in the bottle in the top year 2016 catapults the usual traditional and exemplary style into new spheres. Sweet red berries, flowers, mint, spices and aniseed are uniquely interwoven in this generous wine. The wine gains volume and depth in the glass as the flavours build to an unprecedented crescendo. This is an exceptionally well-balanced and finessed Brunello full of character and originality. The tannins remain firm, but there is enough density and complexity of fruit that opening a bottle even at a young age gives no cause for regret. You really should not miss this Brunello now (among all the other outstanding results of the exceptional vintage)! SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright, powerful ruby with a pronounced garnet rim. Opens with light malty notes, then ripe plums, some dried porcini mushrooms and tomatoes, complex. Opens on the palate with savoury, dense tannins, firm and deep, salty and long in the finish." Falstaff

"Healthy mid ruby. Closed, brooding with cherry and cranberry with minerally notes. Iron with a suggestion of orange skin and oak. Embryonic, poised cherry and raspberry palate but with real concentration and with a long vein of acidity running through it. Very long and transparent, with finely-chiselled, long tannins and amazing depth." Jancis Robinson

"A core of cherry and kirsch marks this vivid, linear red, packing strawberry, floral, sanguine, iron and tobacco notes into a slim frame. Balanced and structured, ends with a lingering impression of ripe fruit and savory elements." Wine Spectator

"The Fuligni 2016 Brunello di Montalcino shows balance and symmetry with plenty of primary intensity to ensure a long cellar life. The bouquet opens to dark plum, dried raspberry, spice, aniseed and grilled herb. I get a lot of Mediterranean lavender and rosemary essence. This is a mid-weight Brunello with aromas that prove elegant and buoyant. If you have visited the Fuligni estate, you may agree that it occupies one of the best positions in the appellation with open views onto the enormous expanse of the Val d'Orcia that plays out until the horizon ends. This is one of Montalcino's historic cellars with many stories to tell. Luckily for us, much of that narrative unfolds in the beauty and the elegance of a wine like this." Robert Parker

"Aromas of cedar, sandalwood and black cherries with some plums. Full-bodied and very chewy with lots of tannins and a fluid fruit base behind it all, providing such beauty and precision. Real purity and focus. Give this two or three years to come together." James Suckling

"Dark, inward and intense, the 2016 Brunello di Montalcino is a towering effort that will thrill collectors for many years to come. It arrives in waves, first black fruits evolving to red, then sage and earthy minerals, followed by brown spice and, finally, hints of tobacco. Youthfully dense, velvety and in no hurry to unfurl the complex web of fruit, minerals and tannins found within, this instead leaves you guessing at what's to come. That said, there's perfect symmetry here, along with the combination of structure and primary intensity to guarantee many years of positive maturation. Hints of licorice, currant and baker's chocolate linger long. This is simply gorgeous." Vinous

"The Fuligni family moved from Maremma to Montalcino early in the 20th century, establishing the estate in 1923. Maria Flora has been at the helm since 1971, with her nephew Roberto managing most of the operations today. This historic property has released one of the most exquisite wines of 2016. Revealing its complexities gradually, it unfolds with a smoky flintiness, balsamic nuances and Mediterranean herbs. Seemingly endless in layers and depth, there is generosity but it never weighs the palate down. Powerful, sophisticated tannins are finely powdered, and piercing acidity radiates throughout. Hints of liquorice, violet, blood orange and iron eventually emerge. Lengthy and effortlessly commanding." Decanter

"Enticingly fragrant, this opens with heady aromas of rose, violet, new leather, truffle and balsamic whiffs of camphor. Vibrant and focused, the chiseled, elegant palate is all about finesse, delivering bright red cherry, orange zest, licorice and white pepper framed in taut, refined tannins. Bright acidity keeps it superbly balanced and fresh. It's already drinking beautifully but hold for even more complexity." Wine Enthusiast

In the Bouquet small red berries, spices and a certain herb spice. Explodes formally on the palate with a clearly defined mix of raspberry, liquorice, cherry fruit and some cinnamon. Finely granulated tannin and an almost endless depth round off the excellent overall impression. One of the best Brunello Riserva of the vintage. SUPERIORE.DE

"Shiny, rich garnet red. The nose shows spicy notes, cardamom, pimento and cinnamon, then opens with a beautiful raspberry. On the palate hearty and gripping, fine ripe fruit, then unfolds with dense tannin, builds up well, but in the finale appears a little rough and drying, still needs time". Falstaff

"Bright and juicy, this is packed with cherry, strawberry, floral and mineral aromas and flavors. Linear in shape and tightly wound, yet very pure, with a long, detailed aftertaste that pulls all the elements together." Wine Spectator

"From the moment you put your nose into the bouquet, the 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva gives off heat, ripe fruit and power. Brunello from this warm vintage tends to be bold, muscular and emphatic, and this wine definitely supports that claim. Black cherry, prune and plum at the core are surrounded by soft oak spice and cinnamon." Robert Parker

"Mid ruby with narrow orange rim. Alluring cherry nose with minerally notes. Gorgeous intensity and length, the fruit streamlined with sappy acidity and fine, long tannins. Lots of class. Will give lots of pleasure for years to come." Jancis Robinson

"Enticing scents of iris, violet, perfumed berry and cake spice mingle with whiffs of balsamic and menthol. Full in body, but boasting a weightless elegance, the palate delivers juicy wild cherry, raspberry preserve, cinnamon and licorice. Taut, polished tannins provide structure and finesse while fresh acidity keeps it balanced." Wine Enthusiast

"There's a very complex and fresh nose with elegant red cherries, spices and light herbal nuances. Smells very fresh. The palate has beautiful focus and depth with effortless rich dark and red cherries cast amid perfectly proportioned silk-smooth tannins. Long and so focused, the finish is superb." James Suckling

"Bright saturated red. Deep, pure aromas of raspberry, licorice and minerals; a whiff of white pepper and aromatic herbs emerges with air. Sweet, dense, chewy and powerful, offering superb depth and nuance to the rich red cherry, licorice and potpourri flavors. Tactile, serious and extremely long on the fine-grained, lifted finish. Yet another great wine from Fuligni, and a knockout Brunello Riserva." Antonio Galloni

    • Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2013

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2013

Fulignis Brunello Riserva 2013 opens with a bouquet of wild berries, almonds, grilled rosemary, balsamic herb and cassis. As always, the highly elegant style of this family business, which is awarded every year, is immediately identifiable. After good aeration, it already presents itself rich, complex, with beautiful freshness and precise tannin framework, and suggests at least 20 years of ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright, rich garnet red. Very dense and appealing nose, full of raspberry, rose petals and cherry jam. Very present on the palate, juicy and with fine tannin, rolls over the palate, long aftertaste of ripe cherries. Falstaff

"Mid ruby. Lifted dark-fruit nose. Really ripe yet tangy and with lovely chewy tannins supporting the fruit. Powerful, yet not overpowering." Jancis Robinson

"A dense, muscular version, this red boasts cherry, currant, tobacco, iron and wild herb aromas and flavors. Bright and juicy, with fine balance and a refreshing finish." Wine Spectator

"Luminous deep red. Steely aromas and flavors of redcurrant, cranberry cocktail, and sour red cherry are complicated by cinnamon and minerals, while lifted by a bright violet topnote. Fresh, precise and focused, with harmonious lively acidity providing outstanding clarity and cut extending the flavors nicely on the long, suave, refined finish." Vinous

"Initially closed and shy, the 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva needs a little extra time in the glass before it starts to shine. The wine is made according to a very classic blueprint that prizes delicate primary fruit freshness, fully integrated tannins (nudged forward by Slavonian oak casks) and bright acidity. Fruit for this wine is sourced from 20-year-old vines that deliver the added extract and concentration worthy of a Riserva expression. This wine is impeccably balanced and radiant. It drinks beautifully straight out of the gate, however, it has the natural DNA to assure a graceful aging future." Robert Parker

"Very intense aromas of ripe dark fruit with plums and cherries, intermingled with aged meat, warm stones and sweet, dried-wood nuances. The concentrated palate has a suave and plush core with tannins building in impressive layers to hold a long, flavorful finish." James Suckling

"Rose, wild berry, camphor and a whiff of exotic spice float out of the glass along with a hint of new leather. Radiant and loaded with finesse, the taut, elegantly structured palate delivers juicy red cherry, strawberry compote, baking spice and licorice while fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity provide balance and support." Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2013 · MAGNUM in OWC

This hauntingly beautiful wine showcases everything Brunello can be when made from an ultra-competent producer farming Sangiovese vines that grow in what is a real grand cru section of the much too large Brunello di Montalcino denomination." • Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2015

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2015

It is said that every now and then there are Brunello Riserve that come across as drying and rather fruitless due to the longer barrel ageing. With the Riserve from Fuligni, at the latest, this prejudice should be completely dispelled. What comes here in the best vintages from selected barrels of the vintage is the complete opposite. The 2015 Riserva shows a beautiful tertiary intensity with wild berries and plums followed by balsamic herbs, liquorice, grilled herbs and spices. We are thrilled by the sheer lushness and richness of this wine, which remains pleasantly medium-bodied all the while producing plenty of elegance and sufficient power on the other side. This Riserva never feels too heavy or flat, but convinces with disciplined energy and vitality. It rises with each subsequent glass into a perfectly matched world of modernity and tradition that is unparalleled in its vinified form. SUPERIORE.DE

"Rich ruby-garnet, slightly lightening rim. Compact nose with notes of blackberry, dark forest raspberry and lots of cloves. On the palate sturdy and compact, presents itself with tightly woven tannin, pithy, in between always fine melting, dark fruit, very weighty on the final." Falstaff

"It's hard to put down a glass of the 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. This youthfully restrained yet remarkably pretty wine trades power for undeniable elegance and refinement. It's dark and moody at times, bright and focused on radiant fruits at others. Layer after layer of crushed black cherry, woodland herbs, autumnal spice, mint leaf, cedar box and earth resonate in the glass. Its silky textures coat all that they touch in a mix of dark red berries and salty minerals, turning dry and structured toward the close under an air of inner florals and earth tones. It will be some time before the 2015 is ready, but I hope to be able to revisit this when it is. Tasted twice with consistent results." Vinous

"Aromas of ripe black-skinned fruit, menthol and star anise form the nose of this full-bodied red. Combining structure and finesse, the palate delivers raspberry, licorice and vanilla before a coffee finish. A backbone of firm, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity keep it well balanced." Wine Enthusiast

"Fuligni's Riserva embodies the spirit of its designation. Despite long ageing in large oak casks, it demands more time in bottle and should age gracefully for many years. It comes from the estate's original Podere Cottimelli site in Montalcino's northeast. Earthy chestnut and wet soil make way for hints of liquorice, lilac and allspice. Broad and expansive, it starts off with velvety tannins that build to a powdery mass, yet there's a lovely perfume that lifts the palate along with saline, stony nuances and citrussy acidity to finish." Decanter

"Fuligni gives us a truly special expression from this sunny and warm vintage. What I notice first in the 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is the elegance of the aromas and those dusty, almost salty mineral notes of crushed limestone that frame the delicate fruit packed tight within. There are other distinctive aromas here, such as balsam herb, dried mint and powdered licorice root that add more layers to the bouquet. That layering continues to the palate where the wine excels on all fronts-balanced concentration, structure and freshness. This is a unique creation and a very precious wine. It is one of the stand outs of the year." Robert Parker

"A tight, linear red with plums, chocolate and walnuts and some forest-floor and porcini mushroom undertones. Complex and aromatic. Full-bodied with dense, chewy tannins that are intense and powerful. Flavorful and long. Opulent." James Suckling

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2012 · MAGNUM in OWC

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2015 · MAGNUM in OWC

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2016 · MAGNUM in OWC

    • Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2010
MAGNUM in OWC

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2010 · MAGNUM in OWC

Great vintage Riserva of the century: deep ruby red colour, clear, berry scent, with a little tobacco aroma. Of supple nature, well structured and complex, full and intense with ripe fruits and a restrained vanilla note. In the long finish the beguiling variety of aromas of the Sangiovese grape can be found again. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a wine that shows immense harmony and inner poise. The powerful vintage is elegantly tempered in this expression thanks to the flowing and musical nature of the aromatic presentation. The bouquet opens to a steady pace with small berry nuances followed by spice, tobacco, pressed rose and moist earth. Dig deep and there is a bit of white truffle in there as well. The wine boasts a silky texture with a lean, tonic feel that excels in terms of length and persistence. It never feels too heavy or flat. In fact, the wine is brimming with inner energy and vitality." Robert Parker

"Fuligni's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is deep, dense and powerful, with plenty of voluptuousness and inner sweetness for the year. Leather, menthol, spice, violet and licorice wrap around a core of intense, dark-fleshed fruit. The 2010 needs a few years to fully come together, but it is impressive, even today. Mocha, black cherry, plum and mentholated nuances are woven into the persistent, juicy finish. The 2010 spent three plus years in cask." Antonio Galloni

"The nose is still a bit closed but eventually reveals black-skinned berry, dark spice, iris and a whiff of tilled soil. The palate is more expressive and downright delicious, offering juicy black cherry, raspberry jam, cinnamon and a touch of exotic spice. Firm, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity provide the framework while a licorice note closes the lingering finish." Wine Enthusiast

"Wonderful aromas of dried mushrooms, flowers, plums, nuts and cedar. Complex. Full body, firm and silky tannins and a long, flavorful finish. I love the finish. Such elegance. Racy and very long. Superb. What a wine. I always love this." James Suckling

"Saturated with ripe cherry, plum, dusty cocoa, tobacco and tea aromas and flavors. The solid tannins provide support but don't get in the way of the fruit and savory components. Finishes long and expansive." Wine Spectator

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2012 · MAGNUM in OWC

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2013 · MAGNUM in OWC

Fulignis Brunello Riserva from a balanced vintage opens with a bouquet of wild berries, almonds, grilled rosemary, balsamic herb and cassis. As always the elegant style of this family business, which is awarded every year, is immediately identifiable. Today, after good ventilation, it presents itself rich, complex, with beautiful freshness and a precise tannin structure and indicates at least 20 years of maturing potential. SUPERIORE.DE

"Shiny, rich garnet red. Very dense and appealing nose, full of raspberry, rose petals and cherry jam. Very present on the palate, juicy and with a fine tannin, it rolls over the palate with a long aftertaste of ripe cherries." Falstaff

Fresh, precise and focused, with harmonious lively acidity providing outstanding clarity and cut extending the flavors nicely on the long, suave, refined finish." Ian d'Agata

Radiant and loaded with finesse, the taut, elegantly structured palate delivers juicy red cherry, strawberry compote, baking spice and licorice while fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity provide balance and support." • Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2015
MAGNUM in OWC

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2015 · MAGNUM in OWC

About the winemakersEredi FuligniTuscany | Montalcino
    Eredi Fuligni

At the beginning of the 20th century, Giovanni Maria Fuligni settled in Montalcino, following the example of his Venetian family, to cultivate wine. Founded by Maria Flora Fuligni, the estate is now managed by her nephew Roberto Guerrini Fuligni. The pretty winery is located in the countryside of the village of Cottimelli and extends over about 100 hectares. Ten hectares are planted at 380 to 450 meters altitude with vines. The ground is tonearm poor and therefore quite loose. Further vines were planted on areas later added to the estate, which today are on average twelve years old. In the older plantations, which have been in existence for more than three decades, the Fuligni family had used old Sangiovese clones at lower stock density.

The vineyards named S. Giovanni, Il Piano, Ginestreto and La Bandita are harvested separately. The grapes are then selected according to the different types of wine. The wine cellar at Cottimelli, about three kilometres from Montalcino in the direction of Siena, is located in a residence still used in the 18th century by the Grand Dukes of the House of Medici. In fact, however, it dates back to the 16th century. Under the earth's surface, tonneaus are stored in volumes of five and seven and a half hectolitres, but also in Slavonian oak barrels which are several times larger. In the cellars of the Medici Palace, which also serves as the headquarters of the winery, the famous Brunello, the Rosso and the IGT San Jacopo mature.

Roberto Guerrini Fuligni shares with some of his winemaking colleagues not only a passion for excellent wines, but also a pronounced love for music, which he places, for example, in the context of noble Tuscan red wines. The musical appearances, which began as a private meeting among friends and were even allowed to fill a concert break at the Salzburg Festival in 1999, have been extended in recent years due to the great success. SUPERIORE.DE

"Wine designer, university professor and passionate music lover all in one - a versatile man who never gets bogged down, but pursues his clear ideas with determination. He strictly rejects concessions to wine fashions and trends. For him, there is only one style that, unmistakable in its functional elegance, brings the terroir of his cellar creations to life."Gambero Rosso
