“Caterina Zardini” Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC 2021
A high-class Valpolicella, fine and haunting spicy aroma with a full and fleshy fruit development of blackberries and cherries, a wonderfully pleasant bitter note in the long finish. The harmony between aroma and taste is inspiring. SUPERIORE.DE
"Plenty of black-fruit and pot-pourri aromas here. Medium- to full-bodied with good intensity and a firm tannin structure. The fruit is more like crushed blackcurrants on the palate. This finishes a bit chewy for now, but another year in bottle will even it out. Delicious fruit." James Suckling

“Tenuta Missoj” Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso DOC 2019
Tenuta Missoj is a small vineyard in Mizzole with just 3.5 hectares of vines and is owned by the Campagnola family. The vineyards extend 200 metres above sea level on a well-ventilated and exposed hill where the grapes can reach perfect and complete ripeness. From these soils comes the new prestigious wine Valpolicella Ripasso "Tenuta di Missoj", which already impressively shows the typical characteristics of the appellation in the debut vintage 2019.
Intense, ruby red colour with violet reflections. Delicate, ethereal-spicy bouquet with elegant balance and aromas of jam, black cherry and plum. Dry, harmonious, with a very complex taste and soft, deep tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, ripe black plums and savory, grainy and cumin notes on the nose. Medium-bodied with the same fruity and savory character and an intense but fluid feel. Then, chewy tannins kick in and close it down for now." James Suckling

“Caterina Zardini” Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG 2017
Beautiful Amarone Riserva with well-proportioned aromas of ripe dark fruit and noble notes of leather, spices and sweet tobacco. Flows densely and full-bodied across the palate with remarkable depth, breadth and purity. An opulent wine that lingers long and very harmonious. SUPERIORE.DE
"A complex Amarone with black tea leaves, blackberries and stones and a hint of spicy cocoa powder. Typical Amarone generosity with taut, powdery tannins and fresh blackberries. Slightly warming finish with some bitter orange chocolate. Drink or cellar." James Suckling
"Tenuta Caterina Zardini is a winery owned by the well-known Giuseppe Campagnola, which operates autonomously within the group and obtains its grapes exclusively from the 36 ha estate in Marano. The Classico Riserva is traditionally vinified, but less traditionally aged in all-new barriques. On the nose it shows slightly smoky aromas of plums, maraschino and aromatic herbs, while on the palate it is fresh and dynamic, with very fine tannins and a long finish of sweet fruit and vanilla." The Campagnola winery's range is based entirely on Veronese wines. In Valgatara, a suburb of the municipality of Marano in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico area, Giuseppe Campagnola attaches great importance to tradition in the family business he has already managed for five generations. He further developed the winery founded by his grandfather Carlo at the beginning of the last century, buying plots of land without haste and dividing his own battery of bottles into the finest wines and base wines.
The top line, consisting of traditional Veronese plants, is named after Caterina Zardini, the wife of the company founder. Giuseppe Campagnola also has its own vineyards in the historically important DOC Bardolino. Pinot Grigio and Glera Prosecco grapes ripen on vineyards in Mortegliano in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The winegrower cooperates with more than fifty winegrowers, mainly from the Marano Valley, who cultivate grapes in the best locations. The suppliers are looked after throughout the season by employees from the winery. Giuseppe Campagnola also obtains fruit from the Soave region. Wines made from grapes from suppliers are a welcome addition to our own production. When it comes to raw materials, however, the wine producer always focuses on the growing area in which his business is located.
The honours for outstanding achievements of the Veneto-based company go back to the beginning of the 20th century. Carlo Campagnola was awarded a gold medal for the best Recioto at the 1907 Verona Wine Fair. His wife Caterina, who gave birth to ten children, continued to run the winery after the death of the founder. Her son Giuseppe took over the historic Antica Osteria Portoni Borsari in Verona, while his brothers took care of the estate and the vineyards. After the Second World War the Azienda was sold and the land was divided among the grandchildren. Giuseppe Campagnola and his sons Luigi and Giancarlo took over the company and started producing the classic Veronese wines. Today, around 700 barriques are stored in the barrel cellar, which was completed in 2000.
Despite the size of the company, the inner unity of a traditional wine house has been preserved. Every single bottle is a testament to the Campagnola family's close ties to their homeland. In the heart of the Valpolicella area, wines with unmistakable quality characteristics and the most valuable attributes are produced. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Beppe Campagnola plant is the perfect synthesis of a corporate structure in the Valpolicella area. The results always meet the expectations placed in them and convince with a style in which elegance prevails over pure power and concentration."Gambero Rosso
