• "Passi di Orma" Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2017

“Passi di Orma” Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2017

Deep ruby red. Clearly defined bouquet with beautiful herbal spice. In the glass then a deep dark fruit and a very round body, fine acid play and polished tannin. A classic representative of the noble appellation Bolgheri with an extremely harmonious overall impression. SUPERIORE.DE

"There is lots of bright cherry fruit and bright intensity in the 2017 Bolgheri Rosso Passi di Orma. Its bold and ripe primary fruit is very enjoyable, if simple, but then the wine unfolds with charm. This is a blend of 40% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc. It sees a brief six months in French barrique. You get loads of richness and dark fruit, packaged with slightly less formal appeal." Robert Parker

"The 2017 Passi di Orma is a lovely second wine from Orma. Sweet red cherry, mint, blood orange and pomegranate are all pushed forward. Silky and pliant, with lovely fruit purity, this radiant, juicy Maremma red is absolutely delicious. It should drink well for at least another handful of years." Antonio Galloni

"A little loosely knitted right now, but it shows freshness and brightness. Medium to full body with firm tannins." James Suckling

    • "Orma" Toscana Rosso IGT 2015

      “Orma” Toscana Rosso IGT 2015

Opens the nose with plums, ripe cherries and fine spiciness, on the palate dense, fleshy equipment that accompanies the wine in unfolding without weighing it down. Finale in Crescendo, perhaps just a little more open and incisive in the tannins. Long lasting in aroma, only needs to mature a little in the bottle. SUPERIORE.DE

"Plenty of ripe blackberry and incense. Opens up beautifully in the glass. So perfumed. Full body and seamless tannins that coat your palate with a silky texture. Wonderfully framed with complex fruit." James Suckling

"The 2015 Orma is absolutely rich in intensity and thick in extract. The sunny 2015 vintage is all about exuberance and gosh you do get that here. This is a viscerally exciting wine with a large load of dark fruit, blackberry and crème de cassis. Those fruity tones segue to spice, leather, tobacco and barbecue smoke. Roasted espresso bean and dusty chocolate appear on the full-bodied finish. This is a complete, rich and nicely extracted red wine from the Tuscan Coast." Robert Parker

"The 2015 Orma is fabulous. Pliant and resonant in the glass, the 2015 is a total pleasure bomb. Mocha, espresso, raspberry jam, rose petal, mint and cedar all race out of the glass in this stunningly beautiful, gracious wine from Orma. All the elements simply fall into place effortlessly. A closing flourish of aromatic intensity punctuates the finish." Antonio Galloni

    About the winemakers
    Podere Orma | Sette Ponti
    Tuscany | Bolgheri
    Podere Orma | Sette Ponti

If all the forces in a winery are concentrated in a single fine drop, it should already meet the highest quality requirements. The Podere Orma with its wine of the same name fully lives up to this claim. After the fashion entrepreneur Antonio Moretti had already proved with his Tenuta Sette Ponti near Arezzo in the Chianti area that he could run a wine company with a lot of skill and great determination, he created a highly respected branch office with the establishment in Castagneto Carducci in Bolgheri. Despite the still too small bottle production in view of the strong demand, the estate has long since secured a leading position among the 50 wineries in the cultivation zone. In addition to the head office and the branch in Bolgheri, the busy Moretti in Tuscany, who has not been active in the wine business for very long, owns Poggio al Lupo (Maremma), another wine house and Feudo Maccari, a company in Sicily.

Orma means footprint and is supposed to embody the clearly defined requirements of independence and quality with which Moretti, supported by an international team of experts, also competed in the Bolgheri. This wine, made from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, is without a doubt already one of the modern classics in the late honoured growing zone. As an immediate neighbour of the Tenuta dell' Ornellaia, the passionate winemaker, has access to an almost identical terroir and thus also has a starting position bordering on perfection, which can be tasted in the glass. The Supertoscan Orma is pure power and elegance. It is therefore not surprising that the great plant gets almost every year highest ratings by Robert Parker, Gambero Rosso& Co. may be safe.

The Podere Orma vineyard is situated not far from the sea on deep gravel and clay soils with little sand, an excellent subsoil in areas with a warm climate. The vines face southwest. The nearby Thyrrenian Sea compensates for high temperature differences and provides a pleasant summer or mild winter climate. The vines are on average ten years old. The plots are densely planted with around 7,000 vines per hectare.

We are convinced that the Podere Orma will be a great success in the future and hope that more bottles of this great wine will soon be on the market. SUPERIORE.DE

"Delicate and pleasurable, the Orma has quickly developed into an exemplary expression in its field. Not a Bolgheri in the sense of denomination, but a real Bolgheri wine in terms of territorial character and style."Gambero Rosso
