Viettis Moscato is a perfect, light aperitif and harmonious dessert companion. A fresh bouquet of parsley, dill, fennel and cress. Orange and apricot jam on the palate, with a cheerful perlage, cool and light in the body, but also juicy like fresh fruit. This is great fun without being the least bit banal. “Trevìe” Dolcetto d’Alba DOC 2023
Vietti captures the soul of Dolcetto in all its unpretentiousness – trevìe (formerly TreVigne) is like a playlist hit that is instantly catchy but lingers in the memory. Extracted with gentle pumpovers, the wine matures on the fine lees – without wood, without make-up, simply pure purity.

“Trevìe” Barbera d’Asti DOC 2022
Trevìe is like a trusted friend in Vietti's Barbera family – open-hearted, charming and honest – and completely without attitude. The grapes come from hilly vineyards around Asti and Alba. Hand-picked, gently pressed and spontaneously fermented in stainless steel – the wine then matures on the fine lees, with only a subtle use of wood to add depth without masking the freshness and fruit. The colour in the glass is a bright ruby red, almost youthfully radiant. The nose is light and clear: cherry juice, redcurrant, a hint of plum, flavoured with violet blossom and a discreet touch of almond on the edge. Trevìe remains elegant and juicy on the palate – with pure fruit, present but gentle acidity and a delicate, polished tannin that works in the background and holds the wine together. A slight minerality on the finish rounds off the whole with style. A Barbera that brings joie de vivre and character to the glass in equal measure – perfect for a sip between meals, but no less so at a fine table. SUPERIORE.DE

!["Perbacco" Nebbiolo Langhe DOC 2022]()
“Perbacco” Nebbiolo Langhe DOC 2022
"Per Bacco!" – by the Bacchus! – is what people shout in Italy when something extraordinary happens. And that's exactly what happens in this glass: a Nebbiolo that carries the DNA of fifteen Barolo Grand Cru vineyards, complemented by selected Barbaresco parcels, vinified like a great Barolo – but accessible, lively and affordable. Each individual vineyard is vinified separately, matured for two years in large oak barrels and then selected for blending. Monica Larner calls the result "vertical intensity with a taut, tense texture" and often awards terrific 93 points. Antonio Galloni states soberly: "This is anything but a relaxed Langhe Nebbiolo."

Freisa Langhe DOC 2022
Like an almost forgotten side branch of the great trunk of Piedmont, Freisa quietly tells stories of depth, character and identity. Freisa is not thought of as a marginal curiosity, but always as an independent voice – with the flavour, dignity and substance of a great, but with a temperament all of its own: deep, enigmatic and charismatic.

!["Boscogrosso" Derthona Timorasso Colli Tortonesi DOC 2022]()
“Boscogrosso” Derthona Timorasso Colli Tortonesi DOC 2022
The relatively young DOC Colli Tortonesi is probably still one of the least known wine regions in Piedmont. The term Derthona is already used as a generic term. It is the old name for Tortona, a small village in the centre of the DOC. The indigenous white grape variety Timorasso led a shadowy existence for many years, but today some winegrowers are already calling it the "white Barolo". This is due to its great complexity and finesse on the one hand and the excellent ageing potential of the wines on the other. In addition, the grapes often vary in size and ripeness during the harvest, which makes selection a major challenge, just as with the great Nebbiolo crus.

“Scarrone Vigna Vecchia” Barbera d’Alba DOC 2021 (BIO)
A Barbera with a closed gaze – as if you were looking into a dark, purple-red depth from which concentrated essences rise. Scarrone Vigna Vecchia comes from vines that are decades old – partly planted around 1918 – in the Scarrone vineyard near Castiglione Falletto. In the cellar, spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by around 16 months of ageing in predominantly French barriques (proportion new), where intelligent use of wood subtly helps the terroir. Ruby red colour of medium intensity. The nose is explosive, opulent, persuasive and immediate. Notes of plum, red and ripe black cherry, black cherry, rose petals and tobacco are perceptible. The palate is classic, rich, powerful, with notes of alpine herbs and a leathery finish. The tannin is already well integrated. Barbaresco Roncaglie DOCG 2020
First bottled in 1967, Roncaglie (formerly Barbaresco Masseria) comes from a vineyard in Bricco di Neive and is essentially vinified and aged like a Barolo. Since the 2018 vintage, it now comes from a small parcel that used to belong to the Socré Barbaresco winery and is now deliberately released a year later to ensure greater harmony and balance. Floral and spicy notes merge with a core of rich, generous fruit in a generous Barbaresco based on pure resonance. Barbaresco Roncaglie is vinified and matured in the same way as Vietti's single-vineyard Barolos. This means long fermentation, six months in French oak and more than two years in barrique. This, together with the broad shoulders of Neive, results in a noble Nebbiolo with clear hints of Barolo and impressive depth. SUPERIORE.DE

!["Scarrone Vigna Vecchia" Barbera d'Alba DOC 2021 (BIO)
MAGNUM in OWC]()
“Scarrone Vigna Vecchia” Barbera d’Alba DOC 2021 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
A Barbera with a closed gaze – as if you were looking into a dark, purple-red depth from which concentrated essences rise. Scarrone Vigna Vecchia comes from vines that are decades old – partly planted around 1918 – in the Scarrone vineyard near Castiglione Falletto. In the cellar, spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by around 16 months of ageing in predominantly French barriques (proportion new), where intelligent use of wood subtly helps the terroir. The 2021 vintage brought full maturity, dense fruit and clear acidity – the best prerequisites for an expressive but elegant Barbera with Storage potential.

![Barolo DOCG 2021
MAGNUM]()
Barolo DOCG 2021 · MAGNUM
As always, Vietti's outrageously priced "entry-level" Barolo (formerly Castiglione) is based mainly on grapes from Ravera, with smaller portions from Ginestra, Mosconi, Bricco Ravera (in Monforte), Le Coste, Costabelle, Meriame, Briccolina and Codana. Especially in the peak year 2021, this wine is an absolute insider tip in the winery's incredibly terrificBarolo line-up every year, and not just because of its price. SUPERIORE.DE

Barolo Riserva DOCG 2016
Viettis Barolo Riserva with grapes from Castiglione Falletto is matured for two years in large wooden barrels, then in steel tanks and then for several years in the bottle. Classic bouquet of wild berries, cherries and rose petals. Rusty minerals are accompanied by violets and candied orange peel. Juicy on the palate and extremely fresh and agile for its age, with wonderful balance and equilibrium. An inspiring wine that still has many good years ahead of it, but is already completely convincing today. SUPERIORE.DE

The Vietti winery is located in the historic centre of the picturesque wine village of Castiglione Falletto in the middle of the impressive hilly landscape of Barolo. Since the end of the 19th century, this traditional company, which was founded by Carlo Vietti, has been producing exceptional wines. Today, Vietti is owned by the Krause family (USA), who already own the Barolo winery Enrico Serafino.
Location? Exclusive & rare!
Vietti is probably the only producer in the Langhe to boast the best vineyards, such as Rocche and Villero, Brunate and Lazzarito. The vineyards were acquired by Alfredo Currado in the 1960s. As one of the first Piedmontese Oenologist, the winemaker, who died in 2010, began producing single-vineyard wines in precisely those areas where tradition almost always prescribed Barolo and Barbaresco cuvées.
Continuous creation with a view to the future.
After four generations of the family had already produced wine, Alfredo Currado joined the company in 1960 and the winery's real triumph began with him. The traditional methods of winemaking were combined with the use of modern technology, intelligent work in the vineyard and, above all, a rigorous selection of grapes. With intuition and foresight – from the production of one of the first Barolo Cru wines, Rocche di Castiglione in 1961, to the decision to be the first winery in Piedmont to produce a single-varietal Arneis as early as 1967 – Vietti's successful path into the future was paved.
Qualitative growth continued in 2016 with the sale of Vietti to the Krause family (USA). Some of the best cru sites in the Barolo and Barbaresco regions were acquired, opening up promising prospects for the future. In addition, vineyards were acquired in the Colli Tortonesi to produce wines from the Timorasso grape variety. Oenologist Eugenio Palumbo, who has been working for Vietti for over two decades, is still responsible for winemaking.
Among the grape varieties, it is not only Nebbiolo that stands out for the Barolos made from a balanced blend of old and new styles. The Barbera vines, which are also planted in the best locations and are just as long-lived, are also regularly found among the house's best wines. Whether "La Crena", "Tre Vigne", "Scarrone" or "Vigna Vecchia Scarrone" – in addition to the great Barolo wines, Vietti's Barberas also set standards in their respective price categories. But Dolcetto and the white varieties Arneis and Moscato do not lag behind the high standards of the wine world either. Incidentally, it is not least thanks to Vietti that the now famous white grape Arneis enjoys its current reputation and will certainly not be forgotten.
Safely into the next era.
The winery will continue to be run in the spirit of the long family tradition. Appreciation and focus on the terroir and careful, handcrafted work in the vineyard and cellar will take centre stage. The traditional methods of winemaking have been combined with the use of modern technology, intelligent work in the vineyard and, above all, a rigorous selection of grapes. This meticulous work results in exceptionally characterful, fruity wines with a firm body and great finesse. Every Vietti wine is the result of craftsmanship, a deep understanding and a conscientious interpretation of the individual vineyard. SUPERIORE.DE
