A wine with origin and signature: The grapes come from the renowned Scarrone vineyard directly below Castiglione Falletto – a warm south-east exposure with calcareous marl soils. Vietti cultivates the vineyard organically and vinifies the Vigna Scarrone with respect for the grape variety and terroir. Temperature-controlled maceration is followed by ageing in large barrels and used barriques – an approach that promotes both structure and elegance.

The colour in the glass is deep purple with a violet core. The bouquet is complex and clearly contoured: black cherry, blackberry and dried plum combine with notes of violet, liquorice, pipe tobacco and a hint of cedar. On the palate, the wine is complex and focussed: powerful but not overloaded, with juicy fruit, lively acidity and tightly woven tannins. The texture is supple, the flavour precise, the finish long and elegant with a fine mineral aftertaste. A great Barbera that combines depth and finesse in a remarkable way – exemplary of Vietti's ability to interpret red wines characterised by their terroir at a high level. SUPERIORE.DE
