“Donna Chiara” Irpinia Campi Taurasini DOC 2018
Taurasini Donna Chiara is a sunny, juicy Aglianico with a beautiful variety of aromas, a harmoniously round, compact taste with wonderful spice and well-integrated tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"There's a rich streak of hot stone and iron underscoring the ripe and juicy blackberry and damson plum fruit on display in this racy medium- to full-bodied red. Hints of herb and spice play on the chewy finish." Wine Spectator
"Crushed stone minerals and animal notes waft up from the 2018 Aglianico Donna Chiara before giving way to musky blackberries, plums and hints of air-dried meats. This is soft in feel yet packed full of energy, with a vibrant mix of ripe black fruits tinged with sour citrus under and air of rosy inner florals. It leaves a tart twang of wild berries and fine tannins in its wake, while still remaining juicy and fun." Vinous

Fiano di Avellino DOCG 2020
Opulent fruit, sage and thyme. Fresh and very agile, it convinces on the palate until it finally reaches its persistent final. A terroir growth full of character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Nose of tangerine, orange peel, orange pith and dried white flowers. Medium-bodied with good fruit and enough acidity to generate interest on the palate." James Suckling
"The 2020 Fiano di Avellino mixes both savory and sweet, with dusty yellow flowers, raw almonds and gingery spice giving way to crushed apples and pears. It envelopes the palate with rich silky textures, as a mix of brisk acids and sour green citrus creates a more tactile feel. A twang of tart green apple and a coating of salty minerals linger long through the lightly structured finale." James Suckling

“Alèxandros” Greco di Tufo DOCG 2019
Alexandros is a beautifully complex and expressive white from Campania. The aromas of light stone fruit, flowers and a fine minerality come together in the harmonious bouquet. Crisp clean taste with a fresh finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sweet melon, kiwi, honeyed florals and hints of chamomile lift up from the 2019 Greco di Tufo Alexandros. It’s soft and enveloping with bright acids to balance, which also energize the ripe orchard fruits and mineral tones within. A twang of sour green citrus lingers through the long and tension-filled finale. This fresh and zesty Greco is a pleasure to taste." Vinous
"The Colli di Lapio 2019 Greco di Tufo Romano Clelia Alèxandros is fragrant and fresh, showing plenty of those apple and minty pear aromas that are associated with the Greco grape. The wine is contoured and sharp with pretty mineral notes and zesty acidity at the back. Fruit comes from 30-year-old vines planted in calcareous clay soils at a breezy and cool 550 to 600 meters in altitude. Those high elevations really make a huge difference when it comes to quality Greco di Tufo." Robert Parker

In the small Campanian winery Colli di Lapio in Arianiello, a hamlet belonging to the small village of Lapio, the traditional way of living, thinking and producing wine is still used today. With her white and red wines from the indigenous Fiano and Aglianico grape varieties typical of the province of Avellino, the modest owner Clelia Romano and her husband Angelo have made a name for themselves at home and abroad. On the one hand, this is due to the reliably high quality of the grapes growing in the Arianiello, Stazzone and Scarpone vineyards, which reach altitudes of up to 550 metres. On the other hand, the reputation is also due to the certified designation of origin and the completely ecological cultivation. The very limited wines - of the red drops based on Aglianico, for example, only a few thousand bottles are produced at a time - are praised again and again by wine critics.
While the children Carmela and Federico are already eagerly and joyfully involved in the family winery, the three grandchildren are initially only responsible for a few labels as namesakes. Angelo, on the other hand, as a long experienced winegrower in the Irpinia hill and mountain landscape, knows almost every pebble stone. The vines on the only six hectare area are not only blown by the wind, but are also partly sunny all day long. The vines also benefit from very calcareous loamy soils and strong temperature fluctuations between day and night. It is characteristic of Colli di Lapio that sulphur and copper-based active substances are used in the environmentally friendly work in the vineyard. In addition, the family has planted the alfalfa crop, which is well tolerated even in cold winters, in order to supply the soil with more nitrogen.
Under the leadership of Clelia's father Pasquale, the family had previously only sold grapes to neighbouring winegrowers, but now handles the entire value chain. The particular techniques used by the farm, located in the province of Avellino, include harvesting in the second half of October, partial fermentation on dying yeasts in stainless steel tanks and bottling in bottles between spring and autumn after harvesting. If the wines in the tiny cellar do not mature in tanks, they usually age in new barriques. The authentic spicy white wines prepared from Fiano are slim and very long-lasting. For many experts, they are among the best drops ever pressed from this variety. (superiore.de)
"Take the most popular catchwords of the wine language - Eins-a-Lage, Spitzenterroir, winegrowers with body and soul and minerality - throw them around without inhibitions and already the winery Colli di Lapio is accurately described."Gambero Rosso
