“Langfeld” Pinot Bianco Alto Adige DOC 2021
The grapes for Pinot Bianco Langfeld come from up to 700 metres altitude around the municipality of Montan. Pale greenish yellow, fine bouquet of green apple, lemon, chalk and some crushed rock. Fine texture in the drink, with good structure on the palate and excellent depth. In the spicy-fruity finish then a precise, linear acidity and pear and apple notes. Great and very balanced! SUPERIORE.DE
"Sweet white flowers, melon and vanilla bean aromas waft up from the remarkably pretty 2021 Pinot Bianco Langfeld. It soothes with its zesty acidity as mineral-tinged orchard fruits cascade across the palate. The 2021 finishes with a salty flourish contrasting ripe orchard fruits while the mouth is left watering for more." Vinous
"Enticing, delicate scents reminiscent of orchard fruits and spring blossoms characterise the nose. On the polished, savoury palate, bright acidity accompanies ripe yellow apples, pears and a hint of honeydew melon before a salty, mineral finish." Wine Enthusiast
"The floral delicacy of this wine makes it stand out from the crowd of well-made South Tyrolean Pinot Noirs. It is joined by a wide range of bright fruit flavours, from oranges to pear wedges, which unfold on the supple and very concentrated palate. Long, very clean and crisp finish." James Suckling

“Rivus” Lagrein Alto Adige DOC 2021
The grapes for Rivus come from the best Lagrein sites, some of them from 100-year-old vines in Neumarkt and Auer. Rich purple red. Aromas of wild blackberries, tobacco, herbs and lavender. Energetic body, not too heavy, soft, silky tannins and bright acidity. Spicy and tasty with a juicy and lively finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Like a freshly cracked open jar of wild berry preserves laced with sweet sage, the 2021 Lagrein Rivus makes itself known in the glass. This blends both sweet and sour characteristics with crisp blackberry fruits offset by citrus and brisk acidity. It leaves the palate stained in primary concentration yet remains surprisingly fresh as violet inner florals and a tart black currant twang slowly fade." Vinous
"This youthful Lagrein red wine needs a little aeration to expel the last bit of carbon dioxide from the fermentation, but then a broad spectrum of aromas of black cherries, red berries and candied ginger unfolds. The tannins are very elegant for this grape variety and go wonderfully with the precise fruit character. Long, silky finish. Built for ageing." James Suckling

Where the landscape is dominated by white peaks, green dense forests, rivers, mountain lakes and terraced vineyards, there is Tenuta Pfitscher, founded in 1861. This family-run business from the small village of Montagna succeeded in convincing us with authentic mountain wines that combine experience and innovation.
When he took over the Tenuta in 1978, senior Klaus Pfitscher already knew how to incorporate his progressive ideas into the soil of the steep South Tyrolean slopes. He dealt extensively with the different soil types and the alpine climate of the dizzying steep slopes, where the vines, after years of rooting, can produce unique wines of power and complexity.
The laborious manual harvest at 300 to 900 metres above sea level and the strict adherence to yields per hectare benefit the quality of the wine. The blending of the different vineyards is dictated by the respective vintage at Pfitscher, which is why all grape varieties are vinified separately. From the young Müller-Thurgau to the mature Pinot Nero Riserva - each wine benefits from the detail-oriented craftsmanship and thus acquires its own authentic expression.
With the support of their children Daniel, Hannes and Marion, the seventh generation of Pfitschers has now also made it their business to produce straightforward, autochthonous wines. The entire family is part of a reality that continuously produces new projects and has been connected to the traditions of sustainable South Tyrolean viticulture for 160 years.
In 2011, a new winery was opened in picturesque Montan above Auer, completely embedded in nature and indeed a small architectural masterpiece. From pruning to packaging, the Pfitscher family now works as Italy's first winery with the "KlimaHaus Wine" quality seal - fully in harmony with nature.
"Our goal is to preserve the tradition that has been cultivated for generations and to keep improving it," says the family business. Combining a view of the future with knowledge of tradition and the past is what makes this unique range of great South Tyrolean wine classics possible and opens up new horizons for us. These are wines that you certainly won't forget in a hurry. SUPERIORE.DE
