“Cuvée XX” Soave Classico DOC 2022
The grapes for this beautiful Soave Classico come from the cru sites in front of Castello di Soave and on the hill of Costeggiola, a very hilly terrain with a silty-sandy texture, rich in active limestone and volcanic rock. Floral and delicate notes of fresh yellow fruits. Dry on the palate, of beautiful expression and very precise with a lively freshness. A very appealing everyday wine of nice drinkability. “Pojega” Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC 2020
Pojega is a historic vineyard next to the famous Pojega garden, bought by the Rizzardi family in the 17th century. This single-vineyard Valpolicella skilfully combines the fruitiness and the aromatic richness of the traditional grape, enhanced by the Ripasso process, with a well-proportioned body and extraordinary finesse. Great value with an almost magnetic appeal! SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark ruby red. Impetuous and spicy, animal on the nose, with earthy tones and leather, rich cherry in the aftertaste. On the palate juicy, with medium weight, shows clear fruit in the core, not quite coherent between nose and mouth, although with a juicy, long finish, has character." Falstaff
"Packs a fragrant thread of baking spice, crushed pine and orange peel notes that wind through steeped cherry and raspberry fruit. This medium- to full-bodied version is dark and juicy, with chalky tannins firming the finish." Wine Spectator

Recioto di Soave Classico DOCG 2019 dolce
This white dessert wine with DOCG status consists of 100% Garganega, its grapes come from selected volcanic plots of the Costeggiola vineyard in Soave, where the grapes are virtually predestined for drying due to the high age of the vines (22 to 50 years) and the thus very manageable yield. This takes place for three to five months in the "fruttaio", the subsequent ageing of the wine takes place for 30 months in stainless steel tanks and 5 hl wooden barrels.
Very concentrated nose of stone fruit, lemon zest and honey. Then opulent on the palate with a good balance of sweetness and acidity - overall, this dessert wine is very fresh and rounded, making it an excellent companion to not-too-sweet desserts and perfectly matured soft cheeses. Just 2,666 numbered bottles go on sale with each vintage. SUPERIORE.DE

“3 Cru” Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2018
The youngest offspring of Guerrieri Rizzardi's Amarone family comes from three cru sites in the commune of Negrar, including the best vineyard Calcarole. The grapes are dried without technical aids for 3-5 months in the drying rooms of Pojega. 3 Cru is accessible earlier than Villa Rizzardi or Calcarole and offers complex aromas of dark fruits with a very pleasant sweet spiciness on the palate. Fresh and lively, it glides into a respectable finish with plenty of character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very generous nose showing evolved aromas of dried fruits, roasted coffee and smoky nuances. Muscular tannins on the palate, rich." Decanter
"The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 3 Cru 2018 smells of crushed raspberries, cloves and a hint of mint in the glass. The palate is soft and supple, not as concentrated as one would expect, with pretty red fruits and floral notes. It finishes with medium length and slightly grippy tannins as the purple flowers fade inside. The 2018 benefits from the juice normally used to make the Riserva Calcarole." Vinous

“Villa Rizzardi” Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG 2016
The grapes for the house's Amarone classic come from the vineyards of the ancestral home in Negrar, the vast majority of them from the top Pojega site from vines over 35 years old. They are 100% dried in small boxes in the historic rooms of Pojega. The 2016 edition offers an ideal balance between bright acidity and extract sweetness. Full-bodied and concentrated, but always fresh and lively. An Amarone that has all the components to age superbly. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Villa Rizzardi keeps me at the edge of the glass, with a captivating mix of dusty black cherry and blueberry complemented by a dusty spice box full of cloves and dried flowers. This is an elegant wine with a core of minerality and radiant dark red fruits that cascade across the palate. This finishes lightly structured with balsam herbs and mocha left to linger as residual acids maintain a lovely freshness. The 2016 is wonderfully balanced and over delivers in every way." Vinous

“Calcarole” Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG 2015
Amarone Calcarole is only produced in small quantities in the best vintages and has officially been allowed to bear the label Riserva since the 2015 vintage. The single vineyard of the same name is located above Villa di Rovereti in the heart of Negrar in the Valpolicella Classico region. The vineyard offers ideal conditions for great red wines due to its particularly warm climate and stony soil as well as its south-western exposure. The grapes are 100% dried in small crates in the historic rooms of Pojega. A wonderfully intense balsamic wine with memories of rosemary oil, damp forest floor and dried ginger. On the palate, complex berry flavours and a wonderful depth, Calcarole is thoroughly masculine, energetic and powerful, with tightly woven tannins and clearly structured. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red. Fragrant nose, of ripe cherries and ripe plums, dried rose petal, underpinned by fine spice. Compact and noble on the palate, with beautiful juice, shows tight, polished tannin, tightens up nicely and lingers for a long time." Falstaff
"There’s a tight bead of dried red berry and koji berry running through this from start to finish. Along the way are still firm tannins that even out the full-bodied feel and create a focused engine to drive the fruit through the long finish. Feels like a new-wave style of Amarone, with tighter control applied to the dried-fruit character. Delicious now, but will benefit from another year in bottle. Try from 2023." James Suckling
"The 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Calcarole is dusty and floral, unexpectedly lifted and airy, showing dried roses and cherries offset by a hint of sweet smoke. This is opulent and rich, like crushed velvet on the palate, with mineral-tinged raspberry and cherry complemented by confectionary spices and balsam herbs. The 2015 somehow maintains amazing energy and finesse but make no mistake about it, this is a big and ripe style for Amarone. That said, you can’t even notice the 17% abv." Vinous

"The 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Calcarole is a sleeping giant with masses of crushed blueberry and black cherry complicated by blood orange, allspice and mocha. This is texturally deep and velvety in texture, with cooling mineral tones and brisk acids that add contrast as rich red fruits saturate the palate. Balsamic spice and inner rose tones linger as the 2016 finishes with sweet tannins that perfectly frame this red. This is drop-dead gorgeous, but beware of the 17% abv." Vinous

“Calcarole” Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2011 · Late Release
For the first time, the winery presents a small amount of its matured Amarone flagship "Calcarole" from the very good 2011 vintage as a so-called "late release". Rich, dark, almost decadent bouquet that evokes memories of Christmas cake with brown sugar icing served with a cup of hot cocoa. It is velvety-smooth and full-bodied, yet perfectly balanced, with ripe black fruits mingling with exotic spices, mocha and violet flowers. After almost a minute, you can still taste notes of dark chocolate and a hint of bitter coffee. While the Calcarole shamelessly flaunts its extroverted character, it does so with class. The further five years of bottle ageing have done it more than good! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, brilliant ruby red. Elegant nose of ripe cherries with a fine scent of roses. Creamy attack on the palate with flattering play, expands nicely, pithy red fruit, presents itself very harmoniously until the final, firm pressure." Falstaff
"Deep ruby red with hints of amber. Red cherry, dark plums, botanical herbs and minerals on the seductive nose. Dense and very supple, with ripe red cherry, tobacco and sweet spice flavours that are precise, concentrated and layered. The finish is long and lively, offering lingering spicy nuances and a hint of faded rose petals. Just a hint of excessive alcohol lowers my score, but at 16% alcohol this olfactory sensation is virtually unavoidable. A stunning Amarone; if I'm not mistaken, this may be the best Calcarole I've ever tasted." Vinous

The historic Guerrieri Rizzardi winery is the result of the merger of two noble Veronese families: the Counts Guerrieri, owners of a centuries-old estate with vineyards and cellars in Bardolino and the Counts Rizzardi, who bought back their vineyards in Negrar in the Valpolicella area in the middle of the 17th century and then had the historic cellar of Pojega built. The first Rizzardi bottles were produced in 1678. In 1970, Guerrieri Rizzardi acquired an estate in Costeggiolo, Soave. Nowadays the Guerrieri Rizzardi is the only wine producer in Veneto to have the best locations in the three well-known Veronese Classico wine regions. The traditional winery, which has recently been able to increase its high-quality standards at an ever-faster pace, also owns a small estate with vineyards in Dolcè in Valdadige. The first label, Guerrieri Rizzardi, dates back to 1914. Today the company is owned by the Rizzardi family.
The grapes used for the wines of the Rizzardi wines in Valpolicella, Bardolino and Soave come exclusively from their own vineyards, cultivated with great care and vigilance and planted with local grape varieties but also international grapes where suited. The yield per hectare is significantly lower than the maximum quantity laid down by law for the respective cultivation area. Only natural compost is used to fertilise the vines.
As the very old cellar in the centre of Bardolino near Lake Garda had become too small, a new cellar for Lake Garda wines was inaugurated in 2011 on a hill above the town. It meets all the requirements of modern production and logistics as well as being solar powered. On the one hand, the processing of the grapes is less complicated there. On the other hand, individual processes can be controlled even more carefully than before at the second location. The Negrar site remains the centre for the production of Valpolicella. The wines of Soave are vinified in the Costeggiole cellar. In the old and new cellars, under the supervision of oenologist Giuseppe Rizzardi, elegant wines with a strong character and a high identity of origin are created.
Guerrieri Rizzardi has received many awards from renowned wine critics. Since 2015 the winery has been a member of the "Amarone Families" – a group of 13 producers dedicated to protect the integrity of Amarone, one of Italy's best-known red wines, as a precious, exclusive brand and to promote its image and sales on the international markets.
