Ribolla Gialla “Delle Mura - Zuc di Volpe” Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2020
The wonderfully typical, very lively Ribolla Gialla has a bouquet of fresh citrus fruits and apples, with peach notes and flint in the background. The fruity taste is round, clean and very harmonious with a long, salty finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"A solid ribolla with sliced dried apple and lemon. Some mineral and steel undertones. Medium body. Fruity yet refined finish." James Suckling
"The 2020 Ribolla Gialla delle Mura Zuc di Volpe wafts up with a pretty mix of sweet melon, spring flowers and crushed rocks. It’s silky in feel with a reverberation of green citrus tension to balance, as tart orchard fruits are propelled by zesty acidity. A salty flourish resonates, as the mouth is left watering for more, leaving notes of lemon oil and flint to linger incredibly long. The 2020 Ribolla Gialla needs a little time to fully develop its aromatics, but it will be worth waiting for. There’s so much depth and character beneath the surface." Vinous

Pinot Bianco “Zuc di Volpe” Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2019
Best grape material provides in the Pinot Blanc of the Zuc di Volpe line for intense fruity aromas and a distinct characteristic. Bright, soft, floral tones, harmonious and juicy, persistent and long. Beautiful maturation potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Pinot Bianco Zuc di Volpe leads off with a smoky display, as crushed stone gives way to musky apples, pears and nuances of zested lime. The textures are smooth and soothing, yet this remains feminine and lifted throughout, leaning more on salty, savory characteristics than fruit. The 2019 Pinot Bianco tapers off crisp, clean and wonderfully fresh." Vinous
"A steely and citrusy white with lemon, lime and green-apple character and gunpowder undertones. It’s medium-bodied, racy and steely." James Suckling

One day, according to old documents, the Volpe and Pasini families - Friulian farmers the one, Venetian merchants the other - joined forces and founded the Volpe Pasini winery shortly before the end of the 16th century. Today it is one of the most important traditional wineries in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
He is led by the former radiologist Emilio Rotolo with tireless dedication, high competence and a large portion of entrepreneurial intellect. The native Calabrian is supported at work by his equally enthusiastic son Francesco. The entry of the two wine enthusiasts meant for the house located in the northern middle part of the Colli Orientali del Friuli near Cividale and with optimal locations a huge quality leap up quickly. The high rank could not least by the first-class consultation of the considerable oenologist and agronomist Lorenzo Landi and in the course of the time developed hochkarätigen coworker master could be developed to today almost exemplary.
Emilio Rotolo is known in the wine world for his extraordinary organisational talent and his success in achieving ambitious goals. Thus, the winemaker Volpe Pasini quickly expanded Pasini by acquiring new vineyards. The wines from the Togliano and Prepotto hills - around 60 per cent white, 40 per cent red - produced in the meticulously clean cellar and half of which are sold abroad, compete every year for the top position. The Sauvignon and the Pinot Bianco of the Zuc di Volpe line play the leading role in the wide range of white wines with their personality and elegance. The red wines of the Friulian winery convince wine connoisseurs with their good structure and are a perfect reflection of their region of origin. "The wine must be a product of the terroir, an expression of culture, tradition and history."says Emilio to his drops, which are usually characterized by a moderate alcohol content.
In the winery, surrounded by an old town wall, the fresco of a sundial can be seen above the terrace on the first floor. "Your sun is the trademark of Volpe Pasini"once texted the trade Vinummagazine . With the Villa Rosa, a magnificent manor house dating from the late 16th century and lovingly renovated also belongs to the feudal property. The landowner christened the villa in honour of his wife Rosa Tommaselli, who together with him manages the foreign business. The path leads through an enchanting park with gnarled oaks, where evergreen magnolias bloom. SUPERIORE.DE
