"Rich, white fruit on the nose and concentrated white and yellow fruit on the palate. Ends a little abruptly, but is compensated for by its full-bodied weight." Jancis Robinson

Gewürztraminer Turmhof Alto Adige DOC 2016

Bright golden yellow, a concise bouquet of lychee and ripe mango, with aromas of cloves and sage. Fine and dry on the palate, playful and juicy, long finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"Flowery rose-petal nose and green-fruit hints. Oily, spicy palate with hints of Muscat and rose petal. Off-dry and viscous and long, but I wonder on what occasion to drink this." Jancis Robinson

"Bright orange-tinged golden yellow. Lovely, archetypal nose of rose, grapefruit, ripe peach and mango. Rich, dense and luscious, with a fresh tropical fruit set of flavors that are nicely lifted and extended on the long spicy finish. A knockout Gewürz. Two thirds of the grapes used are grown in vineyards planted on calcareous soils that give more elegant wines while the other third come from the areas around Cortaccia and Tramin which are more clay-rich and give showy but less refined wines, according to Christoph Tiefenbrunner." • "Tardus" Gewürztraminer Vendemmia Tardiva Alto Adige DOC 2015

“Tardus” Gewürztraminer Vendemmia Tardiva Alto Adige DOC 2015

The grapes of this golden-yellow late harvest come from calcareous gravel soils with moraine deposits. A delicate, seductive bouquet of roses, dried fruit and citrus fruits. Surprisingly powerful then on the palate with fine residual sweetness and a lively acid reader that never lets the wine become broad and too powerful. In the finish intense, juicy, harmonious and with a mild honey note. SUPERIORE.DE

"Tiefenbrunner's 2015 Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Vendemmia Tardiva Tardus is another gorgeous expression from the cool climate of the mountainous north of Italy. Made with late-harvest fruit, the wine opens to a luminous off-gold appearance. Acacia flower, star jasmine and warmed honey stream from the bouquet with absolute beauty and intensity. Those sweet fruit and floral notes are followed by a touch, albeit a tiny one, of salty minerals that just seal the deal for me. This is a great presentation of Gewürztraminer." Robert Parker

"Bright ruby. Perfumed with light on its feet aromas and flavors of red berries and spicy dark plum. Finishes savory with herbal nuances and a touch of youthfully chewy oak tannins. A very promising Italian Pinot Noir. Well done." Ian d’Agata (vinous.com)

"A delicious pinot with raspberries, boysenberries, lemon and orange peel, dried rose petals and cloves. Medium-to full-bodied and very subtle, but direct at the same time with grainy tannins, bright acidity and a medium to long finish that’s medium chewy."  James Suckling

"The 2017 Alto Adige Müller Thurgau Feldmarschall Von Fenner is one of those wines that wins you over slowly. In the past, I have been aware of the reductive winemaking approach, but this hot vintage expression is raring to go from the minute the wine pours into the glass. Dried lemon peel, green melon and crushed almond all come into view. The wine makes a sturdy impression in terms of mouthfeel with ample and round contours. Serve it with a wild herb risotto." About the winemakers
    Tiefenbrunner
    Trentino-South Tyrol
    Tiefenbrunner

The Schlosskellerei Turmhof was one of the first to make South Tyrolean wines known outside the province of Bolzano. This was due to their clever owner Herbert Tiefenbrunner. Today, the long family tradition of the winery is in the hands of son Christof, who joined the family business in 1983. Together with his wife Sabine, he also feels committed to the wine-growing tradition. He benefits from the wealth of experience of his father, who had managed and expanded the company together with his wife Hilde since 1968. Although the history of the Handelkellerei dates back to 1848, it made considerable qualitative progress only under Herbert's leadership. The wines, which were originally intended for sale on the farm, were now bottled. Markets at home and abroad were gradually opened up as well. Bottle production increased in unison.

Well-known national and international awards and prizes reward the highest quality standards of the Schlosskellerei Turmhof. The balance between tradition and innovation in viticulture and vinification is regarded as very successful by experts. For example, the most prominent creation of the Castel, Feldmarschall von Fenner, was awarded two prizes by the wine guide Gambero Rossowithin a few years. "Three glasses" awarded. The noble wine originates in a vineyard that is 1,000 metres high. According to the Tiefenbrunner family, the cultivation of Müller Thurgau at this altitude is unique in Europe.

Four-fifths of the vineyard hills belonging to the estate are planted with white varieties, the remaining plots are reserved for red grape varieties. In addition to the field marshal von Fenner, the South Tyrolean winery also offers other lines in which the simpler plants are obtained from the grapes of suppliers. The berries from 25 hectares of own vineyards are used for more expressive products. SUPERIORE.DE

"Son Christof, a personality of rare discretion, is responsible for the elegant, delicate and never exaggerated wines, all of solid structure, expressive and always attentive to the characteristics of the grape varieties and different terroirs."Gambero Rosso
