“Baccanera” Rosso Langhe DOC 2018
Baccanera is an aromatic Piedmontese cuvée of Barbera, Merlot, Nebbiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon. Noble, dark garnet with a delicately lightening rim. In the spicy fragrance notes of tobacco, plum and a hint of cloves. Complex and very delicate on the palate with fresh fruit, beautiful structure and well-integrated tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark ruby. Savoury meatiness that reminds me of Nebbiolo and with saline and cherry notes. Quite a bit of power underneath and with a peppery tingle. Full palate but savoury rather than fruit-driven and completely dry. Proper tannic grip on the finish. A winter warmer with lots of class and personality." Jancis Robinson
"Ripe blackcurrants and blackberries on the nose with a hint of ink. Full, intense flavors and tight, fine tannins, coated in fruity vanilla. Persistent finish." James Suckling

“Suculé" Barbera d’Alba Superiore DOC 2018
An opulent Barbera Superiore with class, with equally high-quality equipment, full-bodied and dense with an intense ruby-red colour. The bouquet is fruity with blackcurrants, cherries, chocolate and blackberries, the taste is very deep and rich, the finish is long and fruity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Impenetrable, deep ruby. Gorgeous seductive sweet, rich blackberry nose with savoury oak notes. Rich yet not heavy or sweet on the palate and with sappy acidity integrated in the generous blackberry and blueberry fruit. Quite a heady drink that scores high on the hedonism scale." Jancis Robinson
"Here’s a nice barbera with fresh cherries and berries and a tinge of herb – almost rosemary. Medium body, fresh acidity and a crisp, fruity finish." James Suckling

Barolo “Ravera” Riserva DOCG 2015
Brilliant ruby red, a fully ripe berry bouquet on the nose with warm spice, mushroom and cocoa notes. Rich and juicy on the palate with sweet oak and lush fruit. Ravera Riserva leads to a firm finish, in which the ripe fruit and a polished tannin show again. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark shining ruby red with a sparkling core. In the nose delicate plum, fine earthy tone, a hint of fumé, after some time fine cherry and delicate fleshy nuances. On the palate with tight tannin and a juicy, salty fruit core, showing fine balance between acidity and tannin, with pressure, coherent in itself with an elegant finish." Falstaff
"Ripe nose of sweet red fruit, cake, and spicy nutmeg with notes of oak present on the palate. Intense acidity with layers of forest floor black fruits on the finish." Decanter
"Full-bodied, round and robust with rich, ripe red berries, together with notes of earth. The tannins are slowly melding into the wine. Well structured. The center palate should gain further interest after at least another two years. But a long life ahead of this. Try from 2023." James Suckling

The eleven hectare vineyard of the brothers Gianni and Fratelli Martini, situated on the slope of the Bricco del Barolo, is one of the young and very productive wineries in the Langhe. After numerous modernisations and extensive new plantings, Lo Zoccolaio has now become one of the leading producers in Piedmont. The estate stands for wines with more fruit, more fullness and a ruby red colour. According to the management of the estate, Barolo is prepared in full respect of its origins and the ancient traditions associated with it, without abandoning modern methods and sophisticated techniques. The winemaking process began with barriques and then moved on to larger wooden barrels. The vineyards are planted with Barbera, Dolcetto, Pinot Nero, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay next to Nebbiolo.
In addition to Cascina Lo Zoccolaio, the Martini brothers also own Castello La Toledana in Gavi, Cascina La Doria in San Cristoforo and Villa Lanata in Cossano Belbo. The distribution of the products of all four goods was carried out under the umbrella of the "Distribuzione Domini Villae Lanata" bundled. Lo Zoccolaio produces only red wines whose grapes come from its own vineyards in Barolo, Monforte d'Alba and Novello. The double tree of life is the characteristic symbol on the labels of the house.
In addition to his two Barolo wines, the small producer became famous in the wine world for his Suculé and Baccanera wines. The Suculé was awarded the second best Barbera of the vintage by the Italian wine critic Luca Maroni in 2006. The drops produced under the supervision of oenologist Massimo Marasso convince customers with an appropriate price/performance ratio.
The Cantina Lo Zoccolaio also includes the star restaurant "Locanda nel Borgo Antico" of top chef Massimo Camia. Guests can choose from a wide range of regional and international wines and enjoy the view of the magnificent Barolo vineyards. SUPERIORE.DE
