• "Flower Power" Rosato Toscana IGT 2020 (BIO)

“Flower Power” Rosato Toscana IGT 2020 (BIO)

The name says it all: this rosato is reminiscent of the unconventional times of 1968 in its lightness and buoyancy. Pale pink in the glass, it exudes the scent of white fruits and virtually dances until the fruity-fresh finish. The overall impression is of a cheerful yet serious rosato with a high drinking fluency! SUPERIORE.DE

“414” Morellino di Scansano DOCG 2019 (BIO)

Maurizio Castelli does not like fancy names. That's why he took a simple but original approach to naming the estate and his top wine: 414, which is the number of the area in the region's cadastre. And the Morellino 414 more than lives up to this clear line and proves its stature: smoky notes in the lively fruit bouquet, the contrasting, palatable taste convinces with aromatic power and structure. One of the best Morellino of the appellation. SUPERIORE.DE

"Playful, light, tangy Sangiovese with an extra layer of warmth and ripeness over a Chianti Classico. The finish is dry and this is definitely a wine to serve with food - prosciutto?" Jancis Robinson

    • Aleatico Passito Toscana IGT s.a. <br>0,5l in OWC

Aleatico Passito Toscana IGT s.a. · 0,5l in OWC

The Aleatico grapes for this very small edition (< 500 hand-numbered bottles) dry slightly on the vine when they are harvested. They are then subjected to further drying in well-ventilated rooms for about 45 days, as in the production of Amarone. The first fermentation takes place in stainless steel, the further course then in new small wooden barrels of medium toasting.

Intense garnet red, primary aromas on the nose such as roses, dried apricots and ripe black fruits, plus a spicy herbal note and wonderfully integrated wood. On the palate, complex, full of character, with great consistency and personality, the exciting correspondence of residual sweetness and natural acidity makes it a highly balanced, almost hedonistic meditation wine of great rarity value. About the winemakersPodere 414Tuscany | Maremma
    Podere 414

Behind Podere 414 is Maurizio Castelli, an oenologist of great importance for Italian viticulture. A successful consultant, decisively involved in the development of Supertuscans and the modernization of Italian vineyards and wineries.

For his own project, his dream of an integrated farm, run according to biodynamic principles, with viticulture, cereals and livestock breeding, the agricultural engineer Castelli, who holds a doctorate in agricultural engineering, bought a farm of approx. 30 hectares in an excellent location. In Podere 414 in the DOC Morellino di Scansano, Simone Castelli, Maurizio's son, has so far planted 11 hectares of wine. The oldest vines carry in the seventh year. Simone, like his father, studied at the University of Florence and today, together with his wife Maja, takes care of the new winery. The vineyards are very modern, the planting density is very high with 6800 vines per hectare, the average yield is low with 40 hectolitres per hectare. About 85 percent of the vineyards are planted with Sangiovese, the rest with Ciliegiolo, Alicante and Colorino.

Only a single wine is produced, a 'Morellino di Scansano' and since Maurizio Castelli hates fantasy names and is only interested in quality, he took a simple but original path in naming the estate and its wine. 414 - this is the number of the area in the cadastre of the region. SUPERIORE.DE
