!["Vigna Bricco di Vergne" Dolcetto d'Alba DOC 2023]()
“Vigna Bricco di Vergne” Dolcetto d’Alba DOC 2023
Fresh wine with a Piedmontese soul: This Dolcetto develops a deep ruby red colour with a violet shimmer in the glass. The nose reveals inviting violet flowers and a fruity cherry flavour. Full-bodied and smooth on the palate, with fresh acidity and a slightly bitter almond note on the finish – typical of Dolcetto and interpreted in a very classic way here. The wine matured for twelve months in stainless steel tanks, which gives it freshness and a clear fruit structure. An everyday wine with a strong character and a regional profile – charming, present and very pleasant to drink. SUPERIORE.DE

![Barbaresco DOCG 2020]()
Barbaresco DOCG 2020
The grapes for Batasiolo's Barbaresco come from the gently rolling hills around the village of the same name, where Nebbiolo has found its unmistakable expression for centuries. The year 2020 brought moderate temperatures and a balanced interplay of sun and rain – ideal conditions to maintain the balance between finesse and structure. In the glass, it glows a clear garnet red with a brick-coloured rim – an indication of its youth and the journey that still lies ahead. The nose opens with ripe cherry, dried raspberry and a hint of rose petals, framed by tobacco, sweet spices and a hint of undergrowth. Taut yet supple on the palate, with fine-grained tannins that give the wine backbone and a fresh, precise acidity that carries its inner tension. Ageing in large wooden barrels allows the fruit to shine, while subtle balsamic and earthy notes develop. The finish is long, clear and elegant, carried by a subtle mineral vein. A Barbaresco that epitomises the classic school of Piedmont – noble, long-lasting and with a depth that will continue to develop for several years. Very good value. SUPERIORE.DE

![Barolo Brunate DOCG 2016]()
Barolo Brunate DOCG 2016
The Brunate vineyard, located between La Morra and Barolo, is considered one of the region's great Grand Cru. The combination of calcareous marl soils, optimal south to south-east exposure and the altitude gives the wine a fine interplay of ripe fruit, spicy depth and silky-textured tannin structure. The 2016 vintage produced wines of rare harmony in the Barolo region: a cool spring, balanced summer weeks and a long, golden autumn created conditions in which Nebbiolo could mature slowly. The result is wines of precision, depth and longevity.

![Barolo "Briccolina" DOCG 2016]()
Barolo “Briccolina” DOCG 2016
Briccolina is one of the smallest but most prestigious vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba. The steep slopes and the limestone and clay-rich marl soil give the wines from this parcel a striking, almost architectural structure. The south-east exposure ensures even sunshine and slow ripening, giving the flavours depth and precision. Dense, bright garnet red in colour with ruby reflections. The bouquet is multi-layered: ripe sour cherry, blackcurrant, dried roses, with hints of graphite, liquorice, fine leather and a touch of undergrowth. Powerful on the palate, with pithy, ripe tannins and clear, supporting acidity. The fruit is concentrated but not heavy, embedded in a subtle spiciness and mineral vein. The finish is long, structured and characterised by persistent freshness. A Barolo of rare precision and depth that masterfully reflects the character of the tiny Briccolina vineyard in a great vintage – and has the potential to age for decades. SUPERIORE.DE

La Morra, a small town in the province of Cuneo in the middle of the Barolo production area, has been home to Batasiolo, one of the most important wineries in the renowned cultivation zone, since the end of the seventies. Originally seven wine farms, the Beni di Batasiolo, formed the heart of the company, which was founded in the 1950s under the name Cantina Kiola and already enjoyed an impeccable reputation at that time. After the change of ownership further dependencies, enchanting vineyards and some new wine cellars were added. Today, the Dogliani family cultivates 112 hectares of vineyards in ten tenutes. The old cellars, equipped with the most modern equipment, are a reflection of the philosophy of the Piedmontese wine house, which alone prepares five Barolo-Crus: to combine the past and the future in optimal interaction with an efficient and dynamic present.
The winery of the Dogliani brothers, named after its location, a splendid vineyard, is situated in the most privileged hills of the municipalities of Barolo, Monforte, Serralunga and La Morra. Here local traditions are very cleverly linked with their own identity. The most splendid vineyards of the 140 hectare family have names like Cerequio, Brunate, Corda della Briccolina, Boscareto and Bofani. There and in some other impressive locations the noble and very demanding red variety Nebbiolo thrives with a total share of almost two thirds under the best climatic conditions. The portfolio also includes Barbera, Dolcetto, Moscato and Cortese white grapes, as well as other indigenous varieties that characterise the prestigious area.
The fact that Beni di Batasiolo is one of the largest wineries in Piedmont in terms of surface area does not lead to any loss of quality. Numerous awards - for example for the Barolo Corda della Briccolina, which ages in French barriques - prove what the company name stands for: For top Italian wines, an enormously wide range consisting of almost all Langhe typologies (sparkling wines, Moscato bottlings and grappas included) and a close connection with the typical regional terroir.
The local specialities are still particularly pronounced in the red wine style for the fruity and particularly noble Barolos, which - apart from one exception - ages quite traditionally in large Slavonian oak barrels. For many years Giorgio Lavagna has been in charge of the technical side of the cellar, continuing the quality tradition of the winery with reliable and accessible wines. SUPERIORE.DE
"In a wine-growing area like the Langhe, which is characterised by small wineries, the Dogliani family has skilfully integrated their Batasiolo wine giant with over 110 hectares of vineyards."Gambero Rosso
