“Mandriolo” Rosso Toscana DOC 2020
Even with the entry-level wine, Morisfarms does not deviate a bit from its usual quality standard, which has delighted us with its consistency for over 10 years now. Freshness and relaxed drinkability are the strengths of the Rosso Maremma with its earthy fruit bouquet of cherry and plum and its spicy notes in the finish. SUPERIORE.DE

Morellino di Scansano DOCG 2019
Ruby red, with a fruity-herbal scent, spicy taste and fresh acidity, this evergreen from the Maremma (not only as a perfect food companion) convinces us every year anew. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright garnet with a transparent core. Opens with a rich aroma of freshly roasted malt coffee, black elderberry and cherry liqueur, with hints of tobacco. Stretches pleasantly over the tongue, shows itself supple and balanced, interwoven in the tannin, of medium weight, reverberates extensively, has potential." Falstaff

“Amor” Ansonica Maremma Toscana DOC 2019
Here comes the debut vintage of a bright, sunny and single-varietal Ansonica. Clear pale yellow. Fine fragrance of almond, peach and Mediterranean macchia. Fresh on the palate with an interesting bitter note, fine, restrained acidity, well-proportioned melting and a salty-mineral vein in the well-structured finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Ansonica Amor is a pretty, light-bodied wine ideal for drinking over the next year or two. Lemon confit, jasmine and light tropical accents give this white so much sheer appeal." Vinous

Elegant Sangiovese, refined with Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Deep dark and with a terrificbouquet, strongly fruity, with light spicy and vegetal hints, it tastes concentrated and soft at the same time. The brilliant final this Maremma classic is highly individual and thrilling every year. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brightening, elegant ruby. Spicy nose, complex. After ripe cherries, rosemary, macchia herbs, then some cherry, fine pepper spice. On the palate savoury and very juicy, spreads with ripe fruit, well integrated, punchy tannin, balanced and powerful, long." Falstaff
"The 2016 Avvoltore, Morisfarms’ flagship blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, is very pretty and expressive. Avvoltore is often a bigger wine, but the 2016 is decidedly laid back in demeanor. Scents of dark cherry, olive, spice, dried flowers and leather emerge over time." Vinous

Rare, but true - there is actually a Tuscan vineyard with an English name: Morisfarms. When the Moris family founded the company, they chose the American term for "farm" as a supplement, because one of the brothers lived in San Francisco and the family, who had been working in agriculture for two centuries, had cultivated various agricultural products in the United States. Today the clan has more than a dozen cousins, almost half of whom work passionately on the wine farm. The farm, which covers more than 450 hectares, is managed by Adolfo Parentini, owner of the estate and son-in-law of its founder Gualtier Luigi Moris. The ancestors of the Moris family had already moved from Spain to the Maremma two centuries ago in order to fulfil their dream of their own winery.
The name of the company, located between Siena and Fallonica, already indicates that Morisfarms is a group of goods with different activities. Near Massa Marittima is located on a steep hill called Poggio all'Avvoltore - which supplies the grapes for the premium wine of the same name - is the oldest part of the winery with Fattoria Poggetti. The soils here are heavy and clayey. Poggio La Mozza in Scansano near Grosseto, on the other hand, is dominated by sandy ground. Morisfarms was one of the first producers in the Maremma to dedicate themselves to a modern style. With an annual production of around 300,000 bottles, the house has secured a large share of Tuscan wine production.
The top-class wine consultants Attilio Pagli and Andrea Paoletti are responsible as agronomists for the production of the wonderful, very independent wines - around 90 percent of which are made from Sangiovese and ten percent from international varieties. Pagli started his continuously upward career at the age of 26 on Poggio La Mozza. He introduced temperature-controlled fermentation to the white wines and brought the Syrah variety to the region. Under the supervision of Stefano Moris, Morisfarms has set itself the goal of pressing fine wines with plenty of terroir and fruit. The red wines in Poggio La Mozza are spontaneously fermented without the addition of artificial yeast. The use of wood in the air-conditioned cellar is very moderate for the higher-value plants. The barriques are only in use for three to four years. For some time now, the Tuscan wine house Morisfarms has received outstanding marks for its creations from the Critics' Guild. SUPERIORE.DE
"With concentrated oenological know-how, the duo (Adolfo and Giulio Parentini) steers a safe course for the company while at the same time keeping an eye on the previous reasonable pricing policy."Gambero Rosso
