Derthona Timorasso Colli Tortonesi DOC 2022 (BIO)
This is a light-weight wine that is still rather fresh and cheerful when young, but which will develop into a highly complex and more than serious white wine over the years. In the still youthful, fresh bouquet, we already find a lot of minerality and fine yellow fruit notes, then on the palate a texture and depth that comes to the fore more and more at 2° higher drinking temperature and appropriate aeration. It will be even better in a few years - guaranteed! SUPERIORE.DE

Nebbiolo Langhe DOC 2021 (BIO)
Classic Nebbiolo from, among others, the not so young vines of the cru site Starderi, which can stand up to many a Barbaresco: Bright intense ruby with garnet rim, a lot of fresh, clear berry fruit in the elegant bouquet, accentuated acidity on the palate, which then gives way to the beautiful fruit and the well-proportioned tannin. SUPERIORE.DE
"The organic La Spinetta 2021 Langhe Nebbiolo reveals medium-rich concentration and bold aromas of dark cherry, wild plum and dried blueberry. That primary fruit is framed by tar, smoke and sweet spice. This is an entry-level Nebbiolo with a bolder style and more concentration than your standard Langhe Nebbiolo. Drink this wine while the fruit is freshest." Wine Advocate

“Pin” Rosso Monferrato DOC 2018
Pin is dedicated to Giuseppe, the father of the Rivetti siblings Carlo, Bruno, Giorgio and Giovanna. It is a blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera. The Barbera comes from the Bionzo vineyard, while the Nebbiolo is a selection from old vines in Castagnole Lanze. This is a beautiful blend of Piedmont's great red grapes, delivering freshness and bright intensity. Expansive and persistent aromas of blueberries, currants and blackberries. Powerful cherry and cassis rise to the top, followed by light spice and smoke from barrel ageing. The harmonious balance between these two grape varieties, one providing exuberance and the other elegance, is simply magnificent. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2018 Monferrato Rosso Pin, La Spinetta's Nebbiolo/Barbera blend, is terrific. Soft and quite open, the Pin offers the aromatic presence of Nebbiolo with a touch of mid-palate sweetness from the Barbera. It’s a combination that works so well. The 2018 is immensely delicious and nicely done, especially for a year that was so challenging." Vinous
"A blend of Nebbiolo with some Barbera, the La Spinetta 2018 Monferrato Rosso Pin reveals a pretty and lasting bouquet with a prominent theme of red roses and dried flowers. The Barbera is used in a supporting role, but it adds enough freshness and fruity concentration to change the personality of this wine and immediately open it to a vast selection of food pairings, from pasta with meat sauce or braised beef." Wine Advocate
"The aromas of dried flowers really come out of the glass. It’s medium-bodied with creamy tannins and a fine and beautiful finish. Pretty softness and brightness and mouthfeel." James Suckling

“Bionzo” Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG 2019
Bionzo is a vineyard site in Costigliole d'Asti planted with vines that are 80 years old or more. La Spinetta's top-of-the-range Barbera is a bold wine, offering generous fruit but then carefully pulling back to show elegance and complexity. The vibrant character of the fruit shines brightly, as does the softness and textural richness. Dried plum, blackberry and sweet cherry are supported by baking spice, earth and cedar. The finish is endlessly long with exceptional fruity persistence. Great! SUPERIORE.DE

Barbaresco Bordini DOCG 2019
Dark fruits on the nose, nuanced with spices, tar, liquorice and wild berries. The mouthfeel is soft and supple with a lasting and silky texture. Here comes a Nebbiolo that exudes character and personality. Barbaresco Vigneto Bordini is a precise interpretation of the grape, drawing a fine line between elegance and power with ease. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Barbaresco Vigneto Bordini is a powerful, brooding wine that packs a ton of punch. I would give it a few hours of air to help soften some of the formidable tannins. Dark red cherry, plum, spice, leather, sweet spice, flowers, licorice and menthol are all amplified, as are the tannins. This is far from an easygoing Barbaresco, but it does open nicely with aeration." Vinous
"The roses and lemon leaf come through in the nose, with a palate of cherries and plums. Medium-bodied with chewy yet fine tannins and a medium finish. A year or two will soften this." James Suckling
"Both rich and dense, this Barbaresco exhibits aromas and flavors of black cherry, blackberry, iron, underbrush and earth. Dense and persistent, with fine balance overall and a lingering finish." Wine Spectator
"La Spinetta's 2019 Barbaresco Bordini opens to a wide and ample set of Nebbiolo aromas spanning from Morello cherry and plum, to dark earth and spicy licorice. This is a solid, mid-weight expression and a wine that ultimately lasts long on the palate thanks to the density and quality of its texture." Wine Advocate

"Pretty ripe fruit with citrus and baking spices on both the nose and palate. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins that give tension and framing to the wine." James Suckling
"The La Spinetta 2020 Barbaresco Bordini has a spicy note on first nose that recalls cinnamon and a touch of something darker like crushed clove. This warm-vintage expression of Nebbiolo embraces rich fruit aromas of blackberry and dark currant, and there is an earthy side with rusty nail and potting soil. Barolo “Garretti” DOCG 2018
Barolo Vigneto Garretti smells invitingly floral of small, white flowers, berries and spices. On the palate, freshness, medium body and firm tannins, one senses the great potential. Barolo Garretti is a wine from the slopes of the La Spinetta estate in Grinzane Cavour. Previously, these grapes were used in the Barolo Campé. SUPERIORE.DE
"The La Spinetta 2018 Barolo Garretti is underlined by a dark and savory quality that appears throughout this experience. Blackberry and dried cherry give the wine solid grounding and a long-lasting taste profile. Those dark fruit tones are amply surrounded by spice, toasted hazelnut and black truffle." Wine Advocate

Barbaresco “Vigneto Gallina” DOCG 2018
A great Barbaresco, destined for long ageing: Garnet red, concentrated and powerful the scent of red berries, freshly cut flowers, mint and tobacco. The taste is also bursting with power and fullness, but still holds a captivating purity, immediacy and elegance, the framework of which is formed by the beautifully integrated tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"With fruit from Neive, the La Spinetta 2018 Barbaresco Gallina Vürsù is packaged in a heavy glass bottle. The wine is extremely polished and tight, especially at this young stage, with a pretty assembly of wild berry, grilled herb, blue flower and crushed stone. What's terrific here is that no element is out of place. These different characteristics all work together to create lasting balance, and I'm sure that this sensation will only become more evident as the wine takes on more bottle age." Wine Advocate
"A gorgeous, elegant wine, the 2018 Barbaresco Vigneto Gallina is captivating from the very first taste. Black cherry, plum, lavender, spice and menthol build in the glass. More than anything else, though, I am impressed by the wine's vibrancy and poise. Gallina has always aged beautifully here. I expect that will be the case with the 2018 as well." Vinous

Barbaresco “Vigneto Starderi” DOCG 2018
Barbaresco Starderi from the municipality of Neive is almost austere with its aroma of pink pepper and cocoa, which, combined with the subtle wood notes, gives a delicious overall aroma; powerful and rich on the palate with the still superficial but very noble tannin. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep and complex, somewhat smoky, clearly mushroomy and a little meaty aroma with notes of predominantly red berries, rose petals, hints of cloves and spicy nuances. Ripe, firm, juicy fruit, partly seeming preserved, a little nutty and cocoa-spicy wood notes, present, crumbly tannin, persistent, multilayered, much power, good depth, in the background some liquorice, peppery and dried-floral nuances, noticeable extract sweetness, in the background also salt, very good, juicy and spicy, firm finish. Becomes juicier and more complex over days." Wein-Plus
"Roses, dried fruit, hazelnuts and some spices on the nose. Full-bodied with very creamy tannins that are polished and beautiful. This is very structured and needs time to soften, but beautiful and solid." James Suckling
"Another especially elegant expression from La Spinetta, the 2018 Barbaresco Starderi Vürsù demonstrates how well this winery worked in this slightly cooler growing season. All the wines across this portfolio appear bright and more ethereal, representing a subtle pivot for proprietor Giorgio Rivetti and his crew. Dried cassis, limestone and crushed flowers emerge from the bouquet, and the wine imparts a lasting and highly polished mouthfeel." Wine Advocate
"The 2018 Barbaresco Vigneto Starderi is a powerful, structured wine. Readers will have to be patient with the 2018, as it is a mere infant. Dried cherry, mint, spice, rose petal, kirsch and sweet red cherry fill out the layers nicely as the Starderi shows off its characteristic volume. Give this a few years to soften." Vinous

The grapes for this exceptional wine come from vineyards at 450 metres above sea level in the Neive district. Fine spicy notes, dark berries and wet earth dominate the precise structure and power of this nevertheless very elegant red. Buy, store and revel in anticipation! SUPERIORE.DE
"Combines fine fruit with a red berry background and a note of box sage typical of the winery, everything seems velvety and solid at first, towards the finish more and more of the wood comes through and overlays the fruit, in addition salty and with elegantly bundled fine radiance." Weinwisser
"Savory and tightly wound, with black cherry and plum fruit framed by juniper, menthol and licorice accents. Vibrant and firmly structured, this lingers with spice notes and a chalky feel on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Lots of roses to the red fruits and dry earth aromas. Some lemon bush. It’s medium–bodied with chewy tannins and a leaner and fresh finish. Drinkable, but better in a couple of years." James Suckling
"The 2019 Barbaresco Vigneto Valeirano continues its progression as the most improved of the Spinetta Barbarescos. Dark cherry, plum, spice, menthol, dried herbs, leather, sage and incense fill out the layers effortlessly. The tannins, often quite potent here, are present, they are nicely integrated in the wine's fabric. The Valeirano is the most savory and mineral (and least fruity) of the Spinetta Barbarescos." Vinous
"Packaged with the distinctive rhinoceros label, the La Spinetta 2019 Barbaresco Valeirano Vürsù has some ripeness and softness that is expressed with blackberry, plum and sweet spice. The wine is structured and full–bodied, but it also shows integrated tannins that support the wine in a firm but effortless manner." Wine Advocate

The wine is solid and dense, with a pretty presentation of fruit that feels healthy and crunchy at the same time. The tannins are well integrated into this structured, full-bodied Barbaresco. The Starderi has shown a very consistent performance over the years." Wine Advocate
"A powerful red, yet well-defined too, with strawberry, cherry, floral, mineral and tobacco aromas and flavors aligned to a muscular structure. Feels balanced overall, yet will take a few years to fully integrate." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Barbaresco Vigneto Starderi is terrific. Vertical and focused, the Starderi impresses with its energy, cut and drive. There's perhaps a bit less heft than in most years, but that is not a bad thing. Dark red cherry, raspberry, lavender and sage lend quite a bit of complexity to this substantial Barbaresco from La Spinetta. It will be interesting to see if the 2019 fleshes out with bottle age." The taste is also bursting with power and fullness, but still holds a captivating purity, immediacy and elegance, the framework of which is formed by the beautifully integrated tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"Elegance flashes on the nose, along with the herbal and woody notes typical of and accompanying this vineyard, always remains pithy and vital, salty and showing sweet fruit, the great class of the site flashes through at every stage and is marked by wood tannin on the finish." Weinwisser
"Aromatic, this red features raspberry, cherry, floral, iron, tar and tobacco aromas and flavors. A dense matrix of tannins lends support and this cruises to a lingering aftertaste. Shows fine harmony and potential." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Barbaresco Vigneto Gallina is an elegant, nuanced wine. Crushed flowers, mint, sweet red cherry, kirsch, sweet French oak and incense all grace this silky, understated Barbaresco. Gallina is often quite forthcoming, but the 2019 is more classically austere in bearing. I suspect it will age well, but there is less immediate charm than in most years." Vinous
"The 2019 Barbaresco Gallina Vürsù is a beautiful wine with delicate aromas of forest fruit, cassis, spice, earthy truffle and grilled herb. This tight, lean-bodied wine has firm tannins and a very long, elegant finish." Wine Advocate
"A tight and structured young Barbaresco with red fruits, crushed stone, ash and slate in the nose and palate. Medium-to full-bodied. Polished and chewy with a solid finish at the end. Needs three or four years to soften but very well done." James Suckling
"From one of the historic crus of the municipality of Neive, a Barbaresco of structure and finesse. Blueberries on the nose, with balsamic touches of eucalyptus and licorice. Savory-salty tannins on the palate, nice persistence with balsamic return." Luca Gardini

Barolo “Campè" DOCG 2018
Barolo Campè occupies top positions among its high-profile competitors almost every year. Fittingly, the majestic red bears the king of beasts, a lion, on its ornate yellow label. We think: There is hardly a better graphic interpretation of this powerful, stately wine. An all-around successful experience
On the nose, aromas of flowers and berries, with notes of vanilla and a hint of rosebud, full-bodied and very concentrated, with great, initially chewy tannin and a long, powerful final. SUPERIORE.DE
"La Spinetta's 2018 Barolo Campè possesses uncommon depth for the year. There's terrific breadth in the dark red cherry/plum fruit. New leather, spice, tobacco, menthol, licorice and orange peel notes. Like all wines in 2018, the Campè is on the lighter side. Even so, proprietor Giorgio Rivetti and longtime winemaker Stefano Mazzetta clearly got the best out of the vintage." Vinous
"Boasting an orange lion on the label meant to symbolize "Barolo, the king on wines," the La Spinetta 2018 Barolo Campè Vürsù is bold, elegant and firm. In a vintage that often delivers understated wines, this expression feels especially intense, ripe and thickly layered. Dark fruit, plum, earth and spice rose from the bouquet. The tannins stand out in the 2018." Wine Advocate
"A solid and powerful 2018 with plum, earth, black truffle and mahogany aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, chewy and rich at the end for the vintage. Try after 2025." James Suckling

"Aromas of rose petal and stem with ripe plums and cinnamon. Full-bodied and very chewy with plenty of velvety tannins and rich fruit in the finish. This needs time to soften. Savory." James Suckling
"The La Spinetta 2019 Barolo Campè Vürsù is balanced and bright with a little more heft and overall fruit concentration. Dried cherry, blackberry, spice and black licorice all appear on the bouquet. This is smooth in consistency but shows a long, polished mouthfeel that is especially tight and elegant in this vintage." Wine Advocate

Bright rich golden yellow with copper reflections. Playful scent of fine herbs, a little tobacco and lots of candied orange peel. On the palate a terrific firework of dried fruit flavours, the fresh acidity gives structure. Wonderfully balanced and at the same time very rich. SUPERIORE.DE

The winery, translated "The top of the hill"It refers to the site of the Rivetti family's first winery in Castagnole delle Lanze, between Astigiano and Langhe. Today the family around her pulsating heart, Giorgio Rivetti, enjoys a high international reputation.
The origins of the company, one of the most controversial wine houses in its own country, go back to the 1890s, when Giovanni Rivetti emigrated from Piedmont to Argentina, later to return home as a rich and powerful man and one day to produce perhaps the best wine in Italy. Since he never returned, his son Giuseppe took up the idea. In 1977 he moved to La Spinetta and founded the winery of the same name.
Meanwhile, three Giuseppes in Moscato d'Asti's sons grew up in the manor the say. The family estate covers a total of 165 hectares. Of these, around 100 hectares are located in Piedmont and the rest in Tuscany. The vineyards in Piedmont are located in Barbaresco and in the Grinzane Cavour area.
A few years ago, the Rivetti brothers added Contratto, Italy's oldest sparkling wine cellar, to their vineyard, which had previously consisted of three estates. Three quarters of La Spinetta's wines are exported. With a share of 45 percent, the USA is the largest customer.
Since the first Moscato versions, Giorgio, one of Italy's best oenologists, had always had great ambitions and clear ideas, as well as great vision. The winery La Spinetta was able to achieve its first great success in 1989 with the "pin" a cuvée of Barbera and Nebbiolo. With this wine the children honoured their father, because "pin" was Giuseppe Rivetti's nickname. Further successes followed.
Today, the unique Barolo Campè and three Barbaresco site wines are among the outstanding wines in the large label portfolio. Also the Barbera d'Asti Superiore Bionzo and Gallina have already won several awards. The wines of La Spinetta are considered modern, innovative and very individual. The main emphasis is on the ripe fruit. SUPERIORE.DE
"The enormous recognition value of the La Spinetta style has contributed greatly to the success of this estate on the world's wine markets."Gambero Rosso
