“Verha” Rosso Basilicata IGT 2022
Verha Rosso is a single-varietal Aglianico produced by Elena Fucci in a seductively fresh style. In the glass, it presents an abundance of ripe raspberries and blueberries, accompanied by minty herbs and a hint of smoke. On the inside, it is juicy and perfumed, with energising notes of mandarin orange balancing the wild berry fruit. A delicately bitter citrus flavour and a salty note make every sip an unforgettable experience. This must be THE wine for every day, and that's exactly what Elena meant, a thousand thanks for that! SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2022 Rosso is dark, floral and understated, with a pretty blend of black tea, citrus peel and blackberries. It is soft and round with floral and spicy notes that emphasise ripe wild berries. The 2022 retains its fantastic energy and finishes with a delicious savoury note and blood orange. The Verha is a young Aglianico from Elena Fucci that excels in every respect." Vinous

“L’Atto” Rosso Basilicata IGT 2022
"L'Atto" - "The Deed". The names of Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti's wines are reminiscent of his father's notarial world.
Atto exudes a bouquet of crushed purple candies, freshly cut plums and a hint of musk. It is soft and fleshy in style, while silky textures reveal an opulent display of ripe black fruits and sweet herbal notes on the palate. Spiced blackberries mingle with hints of ginger biscuits and purple-hued flowers as it finishes long. There is plenty of immediate pleasure here, but not at the expense of balance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dusty dried florals, blackberries and exotic spice waft up from the 2022 l’Atto. This soothes with its silky textures and ripe wild berry fruits as sour citrus adds a lovely contrast toward the close. It finishes long and with a bitter tinge. Residual acids maintain a fresh character." Vinous

“Il Repertorio” Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2021
"Il Repertorio" - "The Register". Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti's wines recall his father's notarial world with their names.
Expressive and uninhibited, the Aglianico Il Repertorio meets us. Dark berries, a herbal bouquet of mint, rosemary, black olive, thyme and sage, plus tones of leather and liquorice. An extremely fascinating and fresh wine from start to finish. Intense and delicate at the same time, elegant and rustic. SUPERIORE.DE
"The nose shows complex aromas of spicy oak, dark chocolate, dried herbs, dark cherries and liquorice. Firm and youthful on the palate." Decanter
"Lavender, plums, black and red currants and some white pepper on the nose. Fresh and youthful with full body, fine-grained tannins and a very clean finish." James Suckling
"A hauntingly dark display of crushed blackberries, lilac and lavender evolves in the glass as the 2021 Aglianico del Vulture Il Repertorio slowly comes to life. It’s silky and sleek, also decidedly savory in style, with tart wild berry fruits propelled by saline-tinged acidity. The 2021 finishes staining and structured, leaving a bitter tinge of exotic spice offset by sour citrus. This imposing vintage of Il Repertorio is built for the cellar." Vinous

“Titolo Pink Edition” Rosato Basilicata IGT 2021
The rare Titolo Rosato is not only a feast for the eyes, but already sets the scene with its fresh and spicy bouquet of mandarins, cherries, sage and sweet smoke. On the palate, this freshness is combined with a taut yet silky texture, followed by acidic, citrusy notes and a beautiful saltiness that provide plenty of excitement and drinking flow. This Rosato is anything but banal and it ends in an exciting finish with green apple and exotic spices. Very well done! SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Rosato Titolo Pink Edition is going to win over a lot of hearts with its rosy mix of ripe cherries, licorice and hints of candle wax. It’s texturally deep yet energetic and has a salty tension. This 2021 shows more florals than fruit and is impactful, to say the least. A coating of rounded tannins lingers, along with touches of bitter citrus and gingery spice. This is a fantastic rendition of the Titolo Pink, a varietal Aglianico. Don’t be afraid of losing a bottle or two in your cellar for next year." Vinous

“Titolo Pink Edition” Rosato Basilicata IGT 2022 (BIO)
The rare Titolo Rosato is not only a feast for the eyes, but also makes a first-class impression with its fresh and spicy bouquet of mandarins, cherries, sage and sweet smoke. On the palate, this freshness is again combined with a taut yet silky texture, followed by tart, lemony notes and a lovely saltiness that provide plenty of excitement and drinking flow. This rosato is anything but banal and ends in an exciting finish with green apple and exotic spices. Put it away for a year, because it is an Aglianico. Very well done! SUPERIORE.DE
"The color alone on the 2022 Titolo Pink Edition is quite stunning, a translucent ruby more than pink. This impresses further with depths of crushed cherry and wild blueberry complemented by sweet herbal tones. It's soft and enveloping, yet tension quickly builds as tart wild berry fruits and minerals slowly saturate. Zesty acidity maintains fantastic balance, despite the 2022s concentration and complexity, making for a lively and mouth-watering finale under an air of rosy florals. What a darling. Brava Elena Fucci." Vinous

“Serpara” Aglianico del Vulture Superiore DOCG 2016
The Serpara is elegant, intense and long-lasting every year. Its grapes come from a single vineyard and the wine matures in a combination of new and used French Allier oak barrels. In the glass, it exudes aromas of blackberries, tobacco, sage, thyme and a hint of smoked meat. It has a soft, almost creamy texture and juicy acids that keep the balance, while ripe black fruits and minerals move effortlessly across the palate. The bold tannins make their presence felt on the final, but are more of an accent that frames the experience well, while hints of dark chocolate and balsamic spices slowly fade away. SUPERIORE.DE
"This wine from the cru of the same name is the interpretation of the tension and juiciness of Aglianico. The mouthfeel shows notes of alcoholic cherries, laurel and white pepper. Dense and exciting on the palate, with iodised, chalky tannins and a fruity finish." Luca Gardini
"This wine has aromas of rosemary, dried strawberries, grilled plums, smoked paprika and mocha. It is spicy and flavourful, with a full body and firm, chewy tannins. Long, spicy and smoky finish." James Suckling

“La Firma” Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2016
"La Firma" - "The Signature". Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti's wines recall his father's notarial world with their names.
La Firma, a single varietal Aglianico aged in natural caves of volcanic tuff, carats and French oak barrels. Beautiful ruby red with bright violet reflections. Complex bouquet with aromas of small black berries, liquorice and hay. Powerful and very harmonious on the palate, characterised by velvety tannins and a long, balsamic finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Elegant, distinctive nose of black cherries and plums and complex liquorice notes. Dry and firm on the palate, long finish." Decanter
"A dark and peppery red with blueberries, peppercorns, blackcurrants, dark chocolate and dried herbs on the nose. It’s full-bodied, fine and focused, with fine-grained tannins. Excellent freshness, too." James Suckling
"The 2016 Aglianico del Vulture La Firma rises from the glass with an expectedly fresh but truly seductive and spicy bouquet that presents bright cherry berries, cinnamon, clove and sweet violet flowers. The palate is velvety-smooth as it leans more towards the spicy spectrum, with a depth of mineral blackcurrant complicated by spiced citrus peel, while purple flowers shine through within. The 2016 leaves a black hole of structure and primary concentration during the long and dramatic final, while nuances of raw honey and plum skin fade." Vinous

“Titolo” Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2021 (BIO)
Elena Fucci's exceptional Titolo wine is built for the long haul. It will continue its steady development for at least the next 20 years, which is why it is particularly enjoyable when aged in magnum format. Dark ruby red in colour, the bouquet has aromas of ripe red fruit and a fine woody spice. The wine is assembled with enormous precision, offering a balanced intensity and a beautiful degree of fruit purity that speaks both in favour of the Aglianico grape and the extreme region that produces it. Titolo impresses with its fine texture and elegantly integrated tannins. This is the kind of masterful Aglianico performance we love. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Aglianico del Vulture Classico Titolo 2021 is unmissable with a classic bouquet that blends tart black fruit and citrus notes with exotic spices, incense and ash stone. Seamless and silky to the touch, it is elegant through and through. Crisp red and black berries combine with a mixture of mineral notes and piquant acidity. The tannins only become noticeable on the finish, which is crisp and angular, yet retains a perfect freshness. The 2021 rejuvenates with nuances of liquorice and sage. This racy version of the Titolo impresses on so many levels." Vinous
"The 2021 Aglianico del Vulture Titolo is indeed a classic Elena Fucci and the wine you should buy if you love her distinctive style. It opens with sweet flavours that come from the velvety ripeness of the fruit, but also from the careful ageing in oak. Baked plums, rum cake and dried fruit mingle with honey granules on the nose. The finish of the Titolo is very long and is characterised by an acidic freshness and the grippy tannins typical of this grape variety. In this case, the tannins are not too dry and there is enough power to drive future development in the bottle." Wine Advocate
"An exceptional terroir, from 50-70 year old vines, in one of its favourite cradles, the volcanic soil of Barile. The Titolo is a masterpiece: tension, citrus fruit, pomegranate and a sometimes iodised finish. In the mouth, it is vertical, savoury, with great elegance and depth." Luca Gardini

“Titolo” Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2019
Elena Fucci's exceptional Titolo wine is already built for the long haul in its "basic version".
"On the nose, smoky, sanguine notes of graphite and cured meat are balanced by the fruitiness of cherries and red plums. The fruit notes headline the palate, but an undertone of chili jam leads into a resurgentally meaty finish, while acid bounces around contoured tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"The Aglianico del Vulture Titolo 2019 is stunning. It opens with an exotic flair that blends smoky plum and lavender with animal musk, ash stone and a hint of sour citrus that enlivens the senses. The palate is silky and supple, quickly gaining youthful tannic tension, but not before offering a taste of mentholated herbal tones and a depth of mineral dark fruit that will take centre stage after a few years of cellaring. The wine finishes incredibly long and structured, leaving a hint of primary concentration lingering under a hint of pretty inner flowers and savoury spice. I believe that the 2019 could one day be one of the best vintages ever produced by Elena Fucci's Titolo." Vinous

“Il Sigillo” Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2015
"Il Sigillo" - "The Seal". Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti's wines recall his father's notarial world with their names.
Aglianico del Vulture of enormous beauty. Dark and impenetrable, it lies in the glass, from which opulent tones of dark fruits, spices and stony nuances emerge. Seamless and massive on the palate, structural richness, tannic sweetness, fine fresh acidity. A soulful, very promising drop with a great future. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark and creamy, with chocolate-covered cherry flavors, accents of dried rosemary, spiced orange peel and a base note of minerally iron and smoke. Delivers dense, plush tannins, which are wrapped in the juicy flavor profile and emerge to firm the finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2015 Aglianico del Vulture Il Sigillo is a beast. It slowly opens in the glass, at first peppery and herbal, focused on earth tones and hints of musk. With time, a more perfumed mix comes to the fore, as nuances of mint give way to tart cherry, incense and smoke. Within, I’m finding texturally elegant waves of dark red and black fruits, washing across the senses with prominence, boasting full-bodied heft, yet expertly balanced by a vibrant core of acidity. There are depths here yet unseen, as a kaleidoscopic mix of dark chocolate, licorice, and cloves battle for supremacy against a coating of fine tannins throughout the finale. The 2015 is just a baby today, yet full of potential. Il Sigillo is made through a partial drying of late harvested grapes, similar to Amarone. It’s refined for 24 months in a combination of barriques and tonneaux." Vinous

This genuine Aglianico speciality from 70-year-old vines is aged in terracotta amphorae for 18 months, giving it greater juiciness, freshness and depth. Intense ruby red in colour with garnet hues. Spicy hints of pepper and fruit jam, blackcurrant and tobacco on the cautiously reductive nose. Great structure, complexity and a certain originality on the palate, which, together with a fine minerality, makes it an exceptionally drinkyred. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 is an incredibly beautiful vintage for Amphora's Aglianico del Vulture Titolo, as a cool, almost minty freshness gives way to savoury nuances of blackberry, sage and white pepper. On the palate it seems to float, silky and opulent but almost weightless, while a cascade of mineral black fruits is perfectly lifted by a stimulating acidity and a hint of sour citrus. It leaves behind a layer of fine tannins that seem to crackle and fade slowly, while notes of red plum and liquorice linger for over a minute. The 2020 is undoubtedly the most engaging and complete vintage of Titolo by Amphora I have ever tasted. Brava!" Vinous

“Titolo by Amfora” Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2021 (BIO)
This genuine Aglianico speciality from 70-year-old vines is aged in terracotta amphorae for 18 months, giving it greater juiciness, freshness and depth. Intense ruby red in colour with garnet hues. Spicy hints of pepper and fruit jam, blackcurrant and tobacco on the cautiously reductive nose. Great structure, complexity and a certain originality on the palate, which, together with a fine minerality, makes it an exceptionally drinkyred. SUPERIORE.DE
"A spicy, sanguine nose features notes of pepper, metal and olives, but violet and black-cherry undertones provide levity. The palate leans into the sanguine, meaty notes of earth and fire, while the fruit also turns darker and deeper, before ultimately plunging into a dark-chocolate finish, which is structured by polished yet firm tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"Amphora's 2021 Aglianico del Vulture Titolo is peppery and perfumed with a mentholated herbal nuance that segues into musky blackcurrant and exotic spice. Silky and enveloping, it calms down with a wave of polished red and black fruits, ideally lifted by a cooling acidity, while a minty freshness builds towards the end. The final is structured and long, leaving a layer of crystalline tannins that linger with a hint of fresh rosemary. The Titolo By Amphora shows wonderfully soft contours and vibrant fruit that make it a pleasure to drink despite its youthful state." Vinous
"The 2021 Elena Fucci Aglianico del Vulture from Amphora's organic vineyard has a ripe and fleshy personality with plenty of added texture and richness. On the mid-palate, this wine is full, almost heavy, with blackberries, dried blackcurrants, dusty ash, black liquorice and the blackened crust of toasted bread. As the name of the wine suggests, clay amphorae are used in the winemaking process, so you really experience the dark intensity of the primary fruit. This is a precious and limited edition of 1,800 bottles." Wine Advocate

“Titolo” Aglianico del Vulture Superiore Riserva DOCG 2018 (BIO)
This strictly limited Riserva is only bottled in the best years. The bouquet is perfect and profound with aromas of dried fruit, blackberries, white smoke and crushed rock. Wonderfully structured on the palate with exact proportions and an almost weightless elegance that makes it one of the best red wines in southern Italy. Still youthfully intense, it still has plenty of time ahead of it. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant medium ruby red colour. Crushed raspberries and sour cherries on the nose with chalky, mineral notes and a hint of cooked rhubarb. Supple raspberry fruit with finely honed, long tannins still making their mark and interspersed with oak. Elegant weight on the palate. Very long with a long oak note. Modern approach." Jancis Robinson
"A rich, focused red with a spicy, sanguine edge to the fruit flavours of crushed cherries, black plums and raspberries. Offers a lively profile that coats the firm, chewy tannins well, while accents of stone, dried thyme and sage, orange peel and pink peppercorns linger on the finish." Wine Spectator
"On the nose, deep fruit notes of dried figs, plums and mulberries both accentuate and push back on dominant aromas of grilled meat and pepper. The fruit brightens on the palate, but an enduring earthy spiciness maintains depth, while strong yet polished tannins glide into an unexpectedly fresh, saline finish." Wine Enthusiast
"Honestly, it's hard to put this glass down. The Aglianico del Vulture Superiore Riserva Titolo 2018 seduces with a bouquet that brings the taster back down to earth, blending musky tones of animals, incense and grilled herbs with mint and spiced oranges. It coats the palate with a texture of pure silk and seems to float with its medium weight. A saturation of citrusy black fruits slowly builds, accented by inner sage and lavender tones. The 2018 feels nervous on the finish, structured and balanced yet full of tension, like a bomb waiting to explode. Sweet spice and liquorice notes slowly fade away. Elena Fucci has taken the Superiore Riserva Titolo to a whole new level. Forty-eight hours later, it still sings. The 2018 is still a baby in terms of development, but it's almost impossible to resist it now." Vinous

Dark ruby red, in the Bouquet aromas of ripe, red fruits and a fine wood spice. Elegant, soft, complex and fresh, the taste is exuberant and very flattering. A masterpiece from the Basilicata! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright purple-ruby. Aromas and flavors of dark plum, black cherry and sweet spices are complemented by a strong balsamic note. Bright and juicy, with a lovely mineral tang and harmonious acidity lifting the steely red fruit flavors and extending them through a long floral finish. Outstanding wine." Ian d’Agata (vinous.com)

“Titolo” Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2019 · MAGNUM in OWC
Elena Fucci's exceptional Titolo wine is already built for the long haul in its "basic version".

“Titolo” Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2015 · MAGNUM in OWC
Dark ruby red, in the Bouquet aromas of ripe, red fruits and a fine wood spice. Elegant, soft, complex and fresh, the taste is exuberant and very flattering. A masterpiece from the Basilicata! SUPERIORE.DE
"Here's another great vintage from Elena Fucci, the ascending star of a rising wine region in the deep south of Italy. The 2015 Aglianico del Vulture Titolo shows a dark garnet color and robust appearance. Very characteristic of this extreme territory, this is a dark and penetrating wine with etched mineral notes behind blackberry, plum and savory spice. This vintage presents an even darker quality of fruit. In the mouth, you get iron, blood and dark mineral nuances that are absolutely typical of these darkened volcanic soils." Wine Advocate
"Fresh and well-meshed, this is a medium- to full-bodied red, with creamy tannins and a rich note of smoke-tinged mineral underscoring the lovely range of ripe black cherry, dried thyme and fig cake flavors and hints of ground cumin and white pepper. This is round and finely balanced, with a long, lingering finish that echoes the spice and mineral detail." Wine Spectator
"Elena Fucci crafts one single wine. The piercing and focused Titolo exudes incense, violet, dark earth and black cherry. Volcanic soil translates with vibrant energy. Muscular rather than plump and built to last." Decanter

Basilicata is dominated by the extinct volcano Monte Vulture.
Scenically beautiful, bordered by Campania in the north, Puglia in the east and Calabria in the west, Basilicata is more or less the instep of the Italian boot. The region borders the Gulf of Taranto in the southeast and the Tyrrhenian Sea in the southwest, so it is located deep in the south of Italy. With a vineyard area of only about 5,000 hectares and a share of only 0.3 percent of the country's total wine production, it is one of the smallest wine-growing regions. Around 16 million litres of wine are produced from the grapes grown here every year. More than 80% of it is made from the grape variety Aglianico, 34% of it as DOP in the Italian designations DOCG Aglianico del Vulture Superiore and DOC Aglianico del Vulture.
Basilicata presents itself to the traveller as a dramatically beautiful, sometimes bizarre landscape, dominated by the extinct volcano Monte Vulture near the north-eastern capital Potenza. In Basilicata, you can still find traces of the Greek colonists who began settling the region in 800 BC. The soil in the mountainous highlands consists mainly of volcanic rock and, at lower altitudes, of sedimentary rock with clay, lime and sand, and is flowed through by numerous watercourses. All vineyards are constantly ventilated, either by the onshore winds of the coasts or the offshore mountain winds. A rather extreme temperature variation between hot days and cool nights helps to develop a wonderful fruit and elegance.
The Barolo of the south and the cultural capital.
The vineyards of Basilicata are fragmented into thousands of sites, often less than a hectare in size. Most of the vineyards are located in the north at the foot of Monte Vulture and near the enchanting town of Matera in the east, incidentally the cultural capital of 2019, which is always worth a visit. A few hectares lie along river valleys in the south and on the coast of the Ionian Sea not far from Metaponto.
Wine was probably already cultivated here by the Phoenicians. There is evidence that in the sixth century, the Greeks planted the ancestor of the Aglianico - a first-class grape variety that dominates Basilicata today. Today, the outstanding red wine Aglianico del Vulture is pressed from this grape in a DOP zone (subdivided into the Italian designations of origin DOCG and DOC) located on the volcano Monte Vulture. When young, this wine is often closed and rich in tannins. But over the years it matures in the bottle into a velvety, concentrated and deep red wine. Similar to Barolo, which is why it is also called the "Barolo of the South" of the South. Aglianico del Vulture is one of the best products of southern Italy. A tiny proportion of it is produced as a rare Spumante in Metodo Classico, which must be mentioned as a particular speciality. SUPERIORE.DE
"With the flourishing of the Italian wine industry since the 80s of the last century, interest in viticulture in Basilicata has increased again, especially since with Aglianico, a highly interesting grape variety beyond the mainstream can be presented." Falstaff
