“Manna” Bianco Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2019
The vineyards of the five grape varieties are located at altitudes between 350 and 800 metres above sea level and face southwest. The vines grow on dolomite, porphyry, sand and marl soils.
As a young wine, Manna has golden yellow hues, after a few years of ageing they turn into strong golden tones. Manna is very special: complex, multi-layered with the bouquet of elderberry, pistachio, apricot, nutmeg and delicate rose petals. Concentrated, voluminous and at the same time elegant and complex on the palate. A wine that can be discovered from different perspectives in the course of its development and unfolds its character more and more. Even the young wine changes in the glass and surprises again and again. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intense bright straw yellow with light golden reflections. In the nose delicate notes of nutmeg and lychee, a hint of apricot, also of freshly mown meadow, a potpourri of yellow fruity aromas. On the palate with a fruity-sweet core, compact, with racy acidity and gentle pressure, beautiful mood arch, currently still very young, will really shine in a few months." Falstaff
"Pretty aromatics of candied citrus, orange peel, grapefruit and lime marmalade, palate of aromatic herb and focused acidity." Decanter
"Wonderful nose of yellow rose and floral honey, then the candied-citrus freshness kicks in on the succulent and vibrant palate. Plenty of minerality at the long, supple finish. A truly unique dry white that exists outside all the conventional categories." James Suckling
"The screw-capped 2019 Manna is a blend of 40% Riesling, 20% Chardonnay, 15% Gewürztraminer, 15% Kerner and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. Only the Chardonnay and the Sauvignon Blanc are fermented in oak. The wine's bouquet is quite elaborate and layered, and it's nearly impossible to make out any one single variety. Instead, the carefully integrated blend presents a vibrant bouquet with stone fruit, preserved lemon and some spicy cumin seed. I could see this wine pairing with chicken marinated in Moroccan spices. There is an evident floral component as well with honeysuckle and jasmine, and lastly, the wine delivers a pretty mineral note that sings out loud and clear." Robert Parker

Pinot Nero Alto Adige DOC 2019
A Pinot Nero from Franz Haas is a textbook expression every year and a benchmark throughout South Tyrol with bright aromas of blueberries, violets and lavender rising gracefully from the bouquet. This is pure Cool Climate in the glass. On the palate it is taut and silky and always beautifully polished and streamlined in a positive sense. This is a beautiful, complex and exceptional Pinot Nero from a master hand. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby-garnet with light rim. Opens with notes of cinnamon and pomegranate, some blood orange, plus fine raspberry. Juicy in the attack and course, showing fine raspberry fruit, dancing lively over the tongue, clear and fine." Falstaff
"The Franz Haas 2019 Alto Adige Pinot Nero reveals pretty inner transparency over a light ruby color. There is a lot of variety-driven fruit with blue flower and wild berry, but this bottle also adds hints of licorice, tarry smoke and some pencil shaving. A second wave of fragrant, sweet-smelling fruit with apricot and orange peel also appears. This is a nice, straightforward expression that is vibrant and tight to the palate. It could be a nice dark-meat pairing for Thanksgiving dinner." Robert Parker

The grapes for this exquisite cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, as well as smaller portions of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, grow on sandy soils facing south and southwest in locations between 250 and 500 metres above sea level in a microclimatically very warm area.
"Istante presents itself with dark garnet red and fruity aromas with dried black berries, plums, figs and dates, some green tea and wood bark tones that accompany it during its long life and underline the consistency of this wine. On the palate, the wine is not a muscleman. Rather, it convinces with its multi-layered, juicy structure, with elegance and finesse as well as with complex, compact tannins and a long finish." An unmistakable trademark of the Franz Haas winery are the labels of its wines. They are expressive, full of life, colourful and the work of the Italian painter and architect Riccardo Schweizer, whose artistic career is related to that of famous painters and building experts such as Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall or Le Corbusier. Since its beginnings, the winery from Montan in South Tyrol has worked with great passion to express the quality of its grapes in the best possible way. The heart of Franz Haas is particularly beating for the Pinot Noir. Therefore, the selection "Pinot Nero Swiss" only bottled in the best years.
The basis for today's operation was laid in 1880. For seven generations the rudder has been handed over into the hands of the first-born. Franz Haas, very receptive to innovation and new tasks, today processes grapes from around 50 hectares of his own, but also from some leased plots. Further grapes are supplied by local winegrowers. The vineyards are located in the municipalities of Neumarkt, Montan and Aldein and reach altitudes from 240 to 1,150 metres above sea level. The areas are distributed over several different microclimatic zones and have soils that offer everything from unevenly grained sands to clay and very calcareous soil.
Franz Haas is an enthusiast in the eternal search for perfection. As one of the most gifted winegrowers in South Tyrol, he faces the challenges of modern agriculture, as can be seen, for example, from the progress made in the biological cultivation of his vineyards. In the cellar, the wine producer, who likes to experiment and is also recognised abroad, does not shy away from reducing technology and using wild yeasts for red wines. In addition to Pinot Noir, other stylistically flawless, elegant wines with strong character are produced in the vineyard's sanctum - pressed from Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio or Moscato Rosa, for example. The first unmistakable wine label was, by the way, that for the "Pinot Nero Swiss 1987". Franz Haas's writing in gold on a black background was - as the owner of the estate proudly states - at that time "a little sensation" I was. SUPERIORE.DE
"A vineyard such as that of Franz Haas is not found every day ... In its vineyards are represented all the main grape varieties of the province, interpreted in a style that aims at drinking pleasure and elegance."Gambero Rosso
