![Vermentino Costa Toscana IGT 2024 (BIO)]()
Vermentino Costa Toscana IGT 2024 (BIO)
The vineyards are located 15 metres above sea level, facing west, on river sediment soils with a sandy texture. The coastal sun shines through in the bright straw-yellow nuances of this wine. The fresh bouquet has notes of lemon, freshly cut green apples and hints of mint and sage; these Mediterranean impressions are also found on the palate. A flavoursome, persistent and very versatile Vermentino from western Tuscany. SUPERIORE.DE

![Bolgheri Rosso DOC 2022 (BIO)]()
Bolgheri Rosso DOC 2022 (BIO)
In the southernmost tip of the Bolgheri appellation, where the vines almost touch the sea and rows of pine trees stand guard over the landscape, lies Tenuta Le Colonne – the winery with the vineyards closest to the sea in the entire denomination. Under the leadership of Alejandro Bulgheroni, organically certified wines of impressive clarity have been produced here since 2016. Originating from vineyards at an altitude of 50 metres with a south-westerly exposure, the vines are rooted in sandy alluvial soils with skeleton-rich inclusions. Spontaneous fermentation in truncated cone-shaped cement tanks with indigenous yeasts for 13 days, followed by twelve months of ageing in large, untoasted barrels, gives this wine its characteristic elegance.

![Bolgheri Rosso Superiore DOC 2020 (BIO)]()
Bolgheri Rosso Superiore DOC 2020 (BIO)
South of Bolgheri, where the pine trees stand like sentinels and the salty breath of the Tyrrhenian Sea permeates every breath, the vineyards stretch out on sandy, gravel-rich soils. Here, at just 50 metres above sea level, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc find ideal conditions – a composition that deliberately swims against the current of the usual Bolgheri cuvées.

No other winery in Bolgheri is as close to the sea as Tenuta Le Colonne. The sun-kissed vines thrive here just a few metres from the beaches of San Vincenzo and benefit from the fresh sea breeze. In the midst of this unspoilt nature, the winery in Donoratico, the southernmost district of Bolgheri, produces an extremely fine range of wines.
On 60 hectares of vineyards, the French grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Merlot thrive and have found their ideal home in Tuscany. The only exception is the indigenous Vermentino grape, which is grown in close proximity to the sea and reflects the full-bodied white wine character of Bolgheri. The soils are of marine and volcanic origin and make this Tuscan growing area so incredibly diverse.
No wonder, then, that Argentine entrepreneur Alejandro Bulgheroni wanted to settle in this world-famous wine region. His company Alejandro Bulgheroni Family Vineyards (ABFV) acquired the picturesque Le Colonne vineyard in 2016. Together with his team, he revolutionised the entire business in oenological terms in the following years and introduced sustainable production methods. Since then, the careful management of the vineyards has produced full-bodied organic wines that regularly win awards from the trade press.
From the refined red wine Plenum IGT to the velvety Bolgheri Superiore DOC, all bottles show the impressive level of quality for which Bulgheroni's other wineries are also known. In Chianti Classico as well as in Montalcino in France or in Napa Valley in California, they remain true to the guidelines of sustainability. The enhancement of the terroir always has top priority, which also has a noticeable effect on the wine quality.
In order to preserve the natural character of the grape varieties, no barriques are used for the maturation of the red wines - contrary to the trend in the region. Instead, only large used oak barrels are used. In addition, cement barrels are used for the summer rosé and the Vermentino, which makes the wines so incredibly drinky.
Bulgheroni undoubtedly has a knack for unique wineries. Between the green of the pines and the blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea that surrounds the stylish Tenuta Le Colonne, the talented team produces the very Tuscan Bordeaux style we love Bolgheri for. SUPERIORE.DE
