• Cirò Rosato DOC 2019

      Cirò Rosato DOC 2019

Of intense, clear colour and wonderfully fresh fragrance of berries and fruits. The taste is as intense and fresh as its fragrance - a wonderfully uncomplicated Rosato with character and sophistication! SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2019 Librandi Cirò Rosato, made from the indigenous Gaglioppo grape of Calabria, shows aromas of young peach, musky florals, and white smoke. It’s soft on the palate, contrasted by a mix of bright acids and minerals, as ripe orchard fruits wash across the senses. The finish is long, leaning toward the red fruit spectrum with a hint of tropical citrus and sweet spice." Vinous

      “Ros’Aura” Rosato Campania IGT 2019

Scented of ripe wild strawberries and cherries. Open, fresh and wonderfully polished in taste with the characteristic aromas of wild berries and a wonderfully fruity finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"Here I’m finding a beautifully perfumed display of Aglianico fruit, as the 2019 Feudi di San Gregorio Ros'Aura wafts up from the glass with a mix of dusty rose, ripe green melon, and sweet smoke. On the palate, it’s wonderfully soft, but also teeming with energetic acids and salty minerals, which add a savory umami touch, while its cooling ripe fruits lean toward the red spectrum and soothe the senses. • Rosé Sicilia DOC 2019

      Rosé Sicilia DOC 2019

Fresh cuvée from Syrah and Nero d'Avola. Light and seductive, with a scent of rose petals, pomegranate and wild strawberries, well-balanced and soft on the palate, and a pleasantly fruity rosé on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"Pastels. Raspberry, mint, red pepper. The pepperiness continues in the mouth as well. Plenty of juice on the palate, fresh acid nerve, berry palate, distinct tactile-mineral notes, remains compact and concentrated from the start to the final, appears forced and balanced. Original assemblage: Nero d'Avola and Syrah." Falstaff

"Lovely aromas of young peach, dried flowers, honeyed almonds, and hints of wild herbs lift from the glass. On the palate, Planeta’s 2019 Rosé presents soft textures, motivated by stimulating acids and minerals, as a note of citrus-tinged green apple settles upon the senses. The finish is clean and fresh, clinging to the senses with notes of citrus and ripe stone fruits, as it slowly tapers off. This is a wonderfully expressive blend of Nero d’Avola and Syrah, which disappears from the glass very quickly." Vinous

“Rosé di Neré" Nero d’Avola Terre Siciliane IGT 2019

The Nero d'Avola grapes come from vines up to 30 years old in the Noto region. Animating delicate fruity notes of pineapple and raspberry. Round, full and wonderfully drinkable on the palate, with beautiful fruit, spice and a cool, fresh final. SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright gold with pinkish tinge. Spontaneous fermentation notes, dicey yeast, quite corpulent in the mouth, strong acidity, a rather fine palate fruit, the finish is substantial with a slight brittleness or astringency, a very unusual rosé." Falstaff

"The 2019 Feudo Maccari Rose di Nero d’Avola lifts from the glass with an intense and spicy display, showing dried peaches and mango with exotic floral perfumes, white smoke, and hints of ginger. On the palate, silky textures usher in ripe fruit, leaning more toward the tropical spectrum, with contrasting green citrus and minerals. "Ripe strawberry and cherry with complementing notes of mint leaf, crushed stone, and sweet white smoke forms a remarkably pretty bouquet in Il Poggione’s 2019 Brancato Rosato. It floods the palate with silky textures, coasting across the senses with ripe red fruits, cooling minerals, and acids, as sweet inner florals develop, contrasted by a savory umami note. The finish is long and soothing to the senses, as its textural richness slowly tapers off. Wow, there is so much to like here, showing both sweet and savory, full of energy, and an amazing value." On the palate, soft textures are offset by refreshing acidity, as pure black fruits are further complemented by citrus-tinged spices and savory herbs. • "Rubrato" Aglianico Campania IGT 2017

      “Rubrato” Aglianico Campania IGT 2017

Rubrato, with its clear ruby red colour, reveals the characteristic Aglianico aromas of dark fruit and wild berries. Well balanced on the palate, with a delicate structure and an aftertaste that reveals fresh fruity and delicately aromatic notes. SUPERIORE.DE

"Deep ruby. Inky nuances complement dark cherry, plum and mineral aromas and flavors. This is a long, refined and very pretty wine. 100% Aglianico, made from 12-year-old vines grown mostly in the heart of the Taurasi production zone at about 400 meters above sea level; does not age in oak (spends 12 months in stainless steel). This is a wildly better Rubrato than past vintages: more serious, more concentrated and deeper, the result of the work done over the years by Antonio Capaldo and Pierpaolo Sirch." Vinous

"Glazed dark cherries, fresh orange peel and preserved lemons. Very tight and citrusy for this grape on the palate, which is medium in body and flavor and quite firm and expressive." James Suckling

    • "Vigna Pedale" Castel del Monte Riserva DOCG 2015

“Vigna Pedale” Castel del Monte Riserva DOCG 2015

The grapes for the Vigna Pedale come from vines over 30 years old. The vines are planted in a tree system that allows only a few grapes per vine. harvest does not begin until mid-October, which is very unusual for a site this far south. Spicy scent of thyme, wild mushrooms and earth, the typical, genuine taste is strong and concentrated. This wine is already a great pleasure today, but still has potential for the coming years. SUPERIORE.DE

"Shining garnet. Noble, finely spicy nose of ripe raspberries, delicate incense, chalky undertone, in the aftertaste of elderberries. Balanced on the palate, with pressure, shows juicy, pithy tannin, also salty, spreads widely, elegant, with long finish." Falstaff

"Good bright, dark red. Smoke, raspberry, wild herbs, flint and menthol on the refined nose, accented by black pepper. Densely packed, with strong but harmonious acidity nicely framing the flavors of strawberry, minerals and herbs. Youthfully chewy tannins provide a serious spine and support the flavors on the long back end that features laser-like precision." “Sum” Susumaniello Salento IGP 2016

Medium ruby red. In the bouquet rich, dark berry fruit, forest soil and hints of chocolate. On the palate it spreads soft and creamy, flanked by fresh berry aromas and a tight acidity, which enters into a wonderful harmony with the fruit and tannin. A drop full of character from an almost extinct grape variety. SUPERIORE.DE

On the palate with elegant fruit and a nice melt, shows spicy-fruity, good structure, full-bodied but not full-bodied, clear fruit sweetness comes back in the final, with pressure." Falstaff

"Deep ruby-red. Inviting aromas and flavors of red and black cherry, minerals, licorice. Finishes long and seamless. Another outstanding Susumaniello from Felline, the estate that rediscovered this rare native grape and was the first to bottle it as a monovarietal." Vinous

    Things to know about
    VINOUS
    VINOUS

Since May 2013, after his retirement as editor-in-chief of "The Wine Advocate", Galloni's wine ratings have appeared on the Internet under his brand "Vinous", where he operates a "modern-day wine platform" in which readers are involved in communication. But the founder of Vinous looks back on a much longer career as one of the most influential critics in the wine world. Born in Caracas/Venezuela, he studied in the USA and at the turn of the millennium went to Italy, where he published the first English-language magazine on Italian wine: the "Piedmont Report".

In a short time he earned a high respect at Italian wineries. He held tailor-made seminars and events, including the highly prestigious "Festa del Barolo". So Robert Parker became aware of him and made him his Italy specialist and until 2013 even editor-in-chief of "The Wine Advocate".

Since his retirement as editor-in-chief, he has published "Vinous" in his own portal. In his tasting team there are other great names of the critic scene, such as Ian Domenico D'Agata and Stephen Tanzer - who are just as intensively and expertly concerned with the Italian wine world and evaluate the wines with the well-known 100-point system.

At SUPERIORE.DE you will always find the latest reviews from the most important wine critics to help you with your personal wine selection. SUPERIORE.DE
