"Greenish-yellow with silver reflections. Fresh butter, citrus fruits and herbs on the nose. Creamy note, very clear flavour, floral nuances, very pleasant and linear. Long, balsamic finish." Falstaff
"The 2018 Brut Franciacorta Essence opens with an airy blend of crushed apples, raw almonds and white flowers. It’s chiseled within, striking deeply with mineral-tinged bubbles that slowly round out and sweeten as this travels across the palate. Custard and baked pear hints linger as the 2018 finishes with medium-length and crisply refreshing." Vinous
"Fresh ripe peaches reveal a sorbet-like, soft and round texture on the palate. Gently nutty and toasty with a lot of fruit." James Suckling

“Essence” Franciacorta Millesimato DOCG 2019 satèn brut
Franciacorta Satèn, made from the best Chardonnay grapes of the vintage, seduces with a complex bouquet of citrus fruit flavours and fresh yeast pastries. Enveloping and creamy on the palate, structured and harmonious, very persistent and with a nutty finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant pale straw yellow with grey reflections and fine perlage. Elegant aroma of sage, mint, citrus zest and a slightly spicy note on the nose. Firm on the palate with a lovely freshness, savoury and a lingering final." Falstaff
"More savory than sweet, the 2019 Brut Satèn Franciacorta Essence opens with a blend of incense and Asian pear aromas. Seductively round yet focused, this flows across the palate with a soothing bead of silken bubbles, giving way to mineral-drench pit fruits and spices. It finishes with admirable length and potent, yet still remarkably fresh, leaving a pretty inner sweetness and mint suggestions to fade. The balance here is lovely." Vinous
"Made from 100% Chardonnay, proof of balance and savoury tension in a memorable vintage. On the nose, notes of white peach, then lemongrass and hawthorn. Salty on the palate, with a fruity, oily finish and convincing persistence." Luca Gardini

"Bright straw yellow with persistent perlage. In the nose with delicate smoky notes, of blood oranges and red berries as well as candied pear, fine sea salt in the aftertaste. Seems very pure on the palate, almost austere, very straightforward and with great juice, bone dry, lingers very long." Falstaff

"El cantinù"In the regional dialect, the locals reverently called this plant in the hills between the Lago d'Iseo and Brescia at Franciacorta. Literally translated: the giant cellar. It is almost a tunnel system that Cavaliere Luigi Rossetti dug into the rocks of the hills behind his house more than 150 years ago. The cellar tubes form a Greek cross and have a capacity of six thousand hectolitres of wine. An enormous amount for that time. From the old farmhouse, which probably came from the 16th century, he formed a stately villa and conducted a considerable wine trade here. All this splendour faded after the death of the wealthy owner and the property changed hands several times.
It was not until 1979 that the once flourishing estate was breathed back into life. Franco Zilliani, with the Guido Berlucchi winery probably one of the most important driving forces in the entire Franciacorta area, discovered the run-down estate. The cellar impressed him beyond all measure and so he planned with his team a gentle renovation of villa, cellars and vineyards. The Chardonnay (70%) and Pinot Nero grape varieties dominate, which can be vinified using the most modern methods and are then left to mature and rest in the traditional cellars. The name is supposed to recall the past time, Antica Fratta could be literally translated as "Old undergrowth" Translate. In dialect, however, it was rather the overgrown, old estate that was meant, which nature had already partly reclaimed.
Today, the claim is made here that the "Essence of Franciacorta" which is quite realistic on the Alluvian soils with a high lime content. Mineral base wines become elegant spumanti by means of the classical so-called champagne method (metodo classico), which are regularly celebrated in the highest tones in the wine critique. Perfectionist and in love with every detail, we not only work in the vineyard and vinification, but also in the exclusive bottle and packaging. The artistic capsules are more popular with collectors than some champagne capsules. SUPERIORE.DE
